“Na, Ryou?” Bakura asked, tugging on Ryou’s sleeve. “Can I show you something?”
Blinking, Ryou looked over to see Seto preoccupied by Yuugi, so he decided he would. “Okay, but what are you going to show me?”
Bakura smirked “That would ruin the surprise meus decorus (2) Ryou.” He led Ryou over to a sleek black street bike, the only other colour being ‘Ereptor Orbis’ (3) in silver scroll work down the side. Bakura hopped on hurriedly, pulling Ryou close. “And to keep it a secret…” he smirked, before pulling a black scarf from his black leather jacket and tying it around Ryou’s eyes. Smirking he plopped a helmet on the boy who squeaked, and then pulled him on the bike. “Just keep your feet up and hold on, Okay?”
“O-Okay?” Ryou whispered, slightly frightened at the prospect of being on something like this while he couldn’t see.
“Trust me.” He heard whispered to him.
“I do.” He said back, not even realising he’d said it out loud. Being an angelic, he’d never even had the fear of becoming blind. Now, not being able to see screwed up his other senses.
Smiling, Bakura kick-started the engine, reversing out of the parking lot before speeding off down the roads till he was far beyond where the cops could nail him for not having a helmet, which they couldn’t do even if they wanted to (4).
He drove for a bit, feeling Ryou snuggle closer to his back, obviously more relaxed, before hitting a turn off, pulling into he driveway of an old house over grown with vines.
“You can get off, but we‘ve got someway to go yet.” Bakura informed, helping the other off the bike before putting the kickstand down. He smirked as he pulled off the helmet, Ryou’s hair ruffled nicely. “Meus decorus.” He said with a laugh, causing Ryou to blush even though he didn’t know what it meant. “C‘mon.”
Ryou let Bakura lead him through what smelled like a forest. There was a dewy tang that made him want to curl up under a blanket and fall asleep on the grass.
“Here.” Bakura said as he undid the scarf, letting Ryou see his surprise.
“Lords above, it‘s beautiful.” He muttered, staring at the scene. Before him, there was a sun setting on a small bay, surrounded on one side by the beach he was standing on, and on the other a small mountain covered by forest. The bay was almost completely surrounded, making it so secluded one could own it without the rest of the world knowing. Behind him, there was a forest that led up a small hill, upon which rested the old house covered in vines.
“I knew you‘d like it meus decorum.” Bakura said, wrapping his arms around Ryou’s waist from behind, Nuzzling his face into Ryou’s hair.
Giggling, Ryou turned in his arms, having to look up to meet Bakura’s miss-matched eyes. “What does ‘meus decorum’ mean?”
“My beautiful.” Bakura Replied, leaning down slowly to finish what he had started in the club. Ryou felt his breath hitch as Bakura’s slightly rough lips pressed against his.
Bakura smiled. Honey. How natural that Ryou would taste like honey.
It soon wasn’t enough, and Bakura was ravishing Ryou’s lips, leaving no doubt in Ryou’s mind that Bakura was claiming him. Smirking, Bakura hooked a foot around the angel’s and gently lowered the smaller to the ground.
Pulling away, Bakura pulled his jacket off, and lifted Ryou up to lay the soft leather underneath, before lowering down to kiss the high archangel again.
When Ryou began to kiss back, Bakura smiled, and began to undo Ryou’s school shirt, running his work-hardened fingers over every bit of skin he could find.
“B-Bakura…I--” Ryou blushed, unsure.
“Shh.” Bakura hushed, placing a finger against Ryou’s lips “I know. You‘ve never done this. Do what ever you want, and trust me, meus decorus.”
Smiling, Ryou felt more reassured. Gently, he began to unbutton Bakura’s shirt, Bakura stopping long enough for the younger to finish unbuttoning his school top. Chuckling when Ryou tugged helplessly on the sleeves of his shirt, Bakura sat up and slid the school jacket and shirt of, smiling as Ryou looked him over with a blush.
Smiling, Bakura moved down to kiss the alabaster skin, causing Ryou to gasp. He noted that Bakura was oddly cold, but it didn’t matter more then the current moment.
Bakura kissed down, his tongue tracing every out line of petite muscle until he got to the button of Ryou’s pants, which he hurriedly undid with his teeth, causing Ryou to gasp. Gently, he tugged at the edges of Ryou’s pant legs and boxers, and when he got no reply of denial, he pulled them off completely before sitting up, smiling at the view.
Ryou blushed, nibbling on the nails of his left hand as his right draped over his own waist, trying not to hide from the stare.
“Decorus.” Bakura whispered, leaning down to kiss the pale beauty beneath him again, never tiring of the honey taste.
“B-Bakura…” Ryou muttered, Bakura liking the way his name tapered off into a moan.
“To bashful to do it yourself?” he whispered, Ryou blushing even fiercer giving him his answer. Laughing lightly, he stripped himself of the last of his clothing, Ryou gasping when he felt skin on skin contact. “I‘ll warn you now. If we go further it will hurt.” He informed the other, “But what comes after that is so much pleasure that it will make you dizzy.”
Ryou blushed at the thought of that, “Please…”
“I wont be able to stop.” Bakura informed as he ran a finger up Ryou’s leaking length
“Please.” Ryou asked again, his brown eyes staring up at Bakura with need and then some.
“Heh, as you wish meus decorus” he whispered, reaching over to his jeans. He was fairly popular at

The old house on ‘Dirt Avenue’
Domino City, Japan
Malik dropped into the house, totally exhausted, but he supposed it was his own fault for choosing gym as the last class of the day
Seto had been displeased to see Ryou and Jounochi Katsuya talking like best friends, Jou seeming surprised when Bakura practically kidnapped Ryou by throwing him on his bike. Yuugi, having been taught well by Bakura and Malik to ‘take the opportunity’, invited Seto to the Kame Game Shop, who had seemed pleased about having a worthy Chess opponent, as Yuugi bragged he had never once been defeated except by his grandpa.
Bakura had been acting strange earlier, and said that he didn’t trust Seto at all. Normally, this was no cause for worry, but Malik had the same feeling.
Plus, he had his ’alter’ to worry about.
//Did you call pretty, pretty pet, pet?// The insane cackle sounded, causing Malik to clutch at his head, the screech of nails on chalkboard rang through his ears. Whimpering, he sank to the floor, hissing out “Shut up!”
//But the pretty, pretty pet, pet has a plaything, and I want to play.// It laughed, causing him to wince.
“You can‘t play with him.” he growled, feeling the pain in his head worsen, before it disappeared when a hand touched his shoulder.
“Are you alright?” Yami asked, concern on his face. “Come on, let‘s get you something to drink.” Helping to hoist the blond up, Yami gently set him down on the couch, before running to make Malik something to drink. After a few seconds, the tri-haired angelic returned with a steaming cup of tea, which he gently help Malik drink, the shape shifter shaking uncontrollably.
“Thanks.” He murmured, falling back against the soft cushions.
“I was wondering…do you know a way I can contact Seto Kaiba?” He asked, causing Malik to sit bolt upright.
“Kaiba? How do you know Kaiba?” He asked suspiciously, his eyes narrowing.
//Oh! The pretty pretty pet pet is jealous.//
Ignoring his other, he grabbed Yami’s wrist when he was about to get up. “Please, just telling me what you are will make this whole situation one hell of a lot easier.”
Yami winced when Malik said ‘hell’, but shook his head “I‘m under direct orders not to.” he said, glaring at Malik.
“Do you know Ryou, then?”
Yami’s eyes widened in surprise, but he nodded anyway “How did you know?”
“Seto and Ryou started going to school today. Who do you take orders from, Ryou, or Seto?” he asked, his eyes narrowed.
“As if I‘d work for a pompous no good fallen!” Yami hissed, yanking his arm out of Malik’s grip when the shape shifters grip had slackened.
“Kaiba‘s a fallen?” he muttered, eyes wide.
“So? You‘re both demons.” Yami stated, still a little cross that Malik would think he’d take orders from a demon. He helped off his own free will, but if it was something that went against his morals, he drew the line, and friend became an enemy.
“You really don‘t know anything about demons, do you?” Malik sighed. “The Fallen are half-breeds, born from a human and a demon, but with both emotions and power. Most fallen aren‘t even revealed.”
Yami was just about to open his mouth when a banging on the door caused him to snap his mouth shut.
“Malik! Brother, I know you‘re there!” a woman’s voice shouted as Malik paled, before standing and stomping over to the door, throwing it open “Isis! Ra almighty get in here, woman!” he hissed as he saw on goers just walk right past, his glamour still in effect even after his sister’s ruckus.
Isis walked over and quickly seated herself, but paused when she saw Yami “Hathor, it‘s happening already.”
“What are you talking about you damned woman?” Malik said hotly, glaring at the woman in question. Isis shook her head.
“Has Merric (1) really stolen your senses away, brother.”
“Who is Mer-” Yami began, only to be cut off by Malik
“None of your business. And yes, it takes a lot to restrain him. Why?”
“The prophesy that foretold the return of the Great Devil, and the only way to stop him was to sacrifice God himself.”
Yami paused “There is no such thing as god.” Isis and Malik both looked directly at him. Shrugging, he continued, “There are angels of Judgement, Guardians, and Prosperity, but there is no god.”
“And how would you know this?” Malik asked suspiciously.
Yami blushed and rubbed the back of his neck. “Um…curses.” He muttered once he realised he had backed himself into a corner “I‘m a guardian.” He admitted “I guard over a human until his life ends, then I become an Angel of Judgement and purify souls.”
“I knew it.” Isis said harshly “Malik, could you not sense the holiness around him?” Yami blinked in surprise. How could this woman had known? “Brother, let me cleanse the devil spirit from inside of you!” She demanded, reaching into the satchel tied around her waist to retrieve some form of vial.
“NO!” Malik screamed, backing away “You can‘t do that, Isis!”
Just as she got closer, Yami stood between them, Isis’ eyes begging him to move. “I made a promise to help him. It will be by his own hand that he is cleansed of this ‘devil spirit‘.” Yami shook his head “I will escort you out, Ms. Ishtar.” He gently grasped her wrist, and led her out. She understood the promises of angels, who always came through.
Even after Death.
“Malik.” Yami said, knowing his name because of all the mail that was addressed to him. “Let me speak to Merric.” he asked.
Malik stared at the Angel in shock. “That‘s not a good idea. He can kill you if he really wants to.”
“I‘m back to my strength. If you want me to help you, then you will let me speak with him.”
Malik looked uncertain for a while, before finally there was a burst of Darkness, feathers black as night flowing around him as large black wings grew from his back and his feet became the talons of a hawk.
“Hehe…pretty pretty pet pet’s plaything wants me instead…poor poor pet pet.””
“So you are Merric” Yami asked, his staff already in hand. “How did you come to be?” He asked idly as he drew a circle in the hardwood around himself, the circle glowing white.
“None of your business plaything” Merric said, taking a step for ward before Yami held out a hand to stop him.
“If you step over the line I just traced, the Holy Water Ms. Ishtar was going to use on you would feel like child’s play.”
Merric hissed in anger at the fact that his plaything was avoiding him. “Pet pet‘s papa made me, oh yes.” the hawk shifter began to circle the enclosure, waiting for Yami’s piercing red eyes to look away. “Yes, he bent my pet pet to his will, and forced us to keep silent as we were raped!” Snarling, Merric took a swipe at the barrier and howled in pain as the white flashed over his clawed hand, burning it.
“This is the same spell Angels of Judgement use to purify souls. You can‘t get around it.” Yami informed, as he contemplated his next course. “I want you to stop causing fear for Malik.”
“And what do I get in return?” Merric asked, wandering around the circle.
“I told you what I want to happen. You get to decide and we‘ll barter from there.”
“I want the plaything to be mine.” Merric cackled.
Yami paused, weighing his pros and cons. On one hand, he had sworn to help Malik, which would be best to destroy the cause of fear, but on the other hand…“You obey Malik, and I‘ll obey you.”
“a day each?”
“No, you have to leave Malik alone for good.”
“No deal. If I leave pet alone for good you‘re mine for good. Even Share?”
Yami paused, contemplating his options “Fine. You are allowed out, but never to harm, and you can only stay for an hour. No harming when your not out.” Taking a breath, Yami shook his head. This man was also close to Yuugi, which would mean that if he couldn‘t strike a bargain, the youth was also in danger. He hadn’t even met his charge yet, but he felt the bond he always knew would be there. “You can have me for the hour you are out. But after today it can only be once every 7 sun downs, and only at night.”
Merric paused, the deal more appealing now “The plaything is only mine for this whole night, then?”
Yami sighed, before dissipating the circle. “I give my word. And should you ever break yours, I will lock you in a purifying circle.”
Merric smirked. “Deal, my pretty pretty plaything.”

Bakura’s Spot
Domino City, Japan
“Anubis, how did you do that?” Bakura asked, looking that the boy on his chest. “Usually I know a person for years before I even consider sharing this place.” Shaking his head, he looked up at the twilight sky, which was slowly turning pink.
Ryou sat up, pulling Bakura’s school jacket against his chest. He was cold all of a sudden, even though it was early morning and the surrounding hills kept the beach warm.
“Something the matter?” Bakura asked, noticing the sorrowful look in his lover’s eyes, sitting up with only Ryou’s shirt over his lap.
“I-I‘m not who…I‘m not what…” he couldn’t finish. He was afraid that Bakura would hate him if he found out, but he felt if he didn’t he’d be lying.
“Ryou?” Bakura asked, wrapping his arm around Ryou and pulling the smaller back on top of his chest. “What‘s wrong, meus decorus?”
“I‘m…” Ryou pushed himself up on Bakura’s chest, his fingers tracing one of the many scars on his chest. If this was the same Bakura that Seto knew, then one of his Angels could have done this. If Seto was right…
…then he had just been tainted a Devil.
“I‘m an angel.” Ryou said, and silence came from the other. Ryou refused to look at his lover, he couldn’t. “I‘m H-High Archangel Ryou…I c-came down with S-Seto and Y-Yami to study y-you and Malik Ishtar…just in case…”
“Just in case I could pose a threat?” Bakura growled, feeling his anger flare. This was a High Archangel. This man would kill him for the safety of humanity if he thought he was a demon.
“I didn‘t mean to…I was curious! Demons have killed so many of our kind! Even normal shape shifters are given a Guardian! You and Malik don‘t have one…that’s impossible…y-you shouldn‘t…” he couldn’t finish his sentence again, and Ryou hated himself for not being strong enough to do his job as Archangel. To protect earth from the evil that was demons. “You shouldn‘t be alive.” Ryou whispered, refusing to let the tears fall. “I…I should kill you now.”
Bakura laughed. It wasn’t cheerful though, and sent shivers down Ryou’s spine when he heard it. “You think you should kill me? Do you think that you could kill me, meus decorus?”
“Stop calling me that.” Ryou commanded as he pulled his pants on giving a shout of surprise as Bakura threw him to the ground, glaring into his eyes.
“Why didn‘t you tell me sooner?”
“This happened too fast…”
“Then I‘ll find out myself!” Bakura growled as Ryou gasped. Both of Bakura’s eyes turned indigo, the pinprick of his pupils shrinking as he stared into Ryou’s eyes.
He felt an instant headache as it felt like someone had slammed a cinderblock into the front of his forehead. Whimpering, he couldn’t tear his eyes away from Bakura’s, and he felt as if something was ruthlessly digging in his brain.
“Stop it!” Ryou shouted, tears flowing down his cheeks at the pain.
Bakura ignored him, and concentrated on finding everything. Seto had been a demon. The council members argued but Ryou won. Ryou granted him pardon. Ryou tried to purify Seto’s soul, and turned him into an angelic. Ryou ignored the sound of his council men calling him a useless ruler. Yami informed him of his charge and the two without. Ryou went to the council men again, who only agreed so that they could find a more suitable ruler in the event of his death. Ryou landing in a garbage can, Ryou meeting Jounochi. Ryou followed a cat and was attacked by a demon. Yami defended him, Ryou went to the club. Met Bakura, danced for Bakura, fell for Bakura…
Bakura forced himself to continue against Ryou’s struggles and screams. He was in no mood to be gentle.
…Ryou met Jounochi, told Jounochi everything, hung around Jounochi, started falling for Jounochi…
Bakura hissed as a fist slammed into his jaw which sent him sprawling across the sand. He looked up just in time to see Jounochi pick Ryou up and run away as fast as possible, Ryou having passed out near the end of his mental attack.
Bakura let a howl of agony through the air, the sky’s mirroring his emotions and letting forth a hail of rain and lightning.

Ryou groaned, his head hurting and his nose stuffy. He began to wonder why he felt so bad, but when he remembered he wished he’d forget again.
“You okay, Ryou?” He heard and peeking his eyes open he saw Jou. Bursting into tears, Ryou threw himself at Jou, who wrapped his arms around him hurriedly, “Hey! It‘s okay, Ryou.” He soothed.
“I-I cant do this! Now I know why they say Earth is suicide!”
Jou pulled back startled “What? Why?”
Ryou glanced at him, his face tear stained “I-I‘m tainted…I can‘t go back…but I miss home! I can‘t stay here! I feel I‘m going to fall insane.”
“It‘s okay” Jou said, smiling “You‘re not tainted. No matter what Bakura did to you.”
“He…” Ryou couldn’t help but blush at the thought, but he felt if he told, then he would be able to get passed his sins. “He and I…”
“I just told you it‘s okay.” Jou said with a shake of his head. “I know all about that kind of stuff. Bakura tricked you, or maybe you didn‘t think enough.”
“I-I‘ve thought it out…and I know what I was doing…but I was lying to him.” Ryou looked around the room, distraught. “I‘m lying to you when I don‘t tell you that my mission is to observe Bakura and Malik and decide if their a threat.” Ryou shook his head as Jou hugged him against his chest. “Everyone in the heavens don‘t think I‘m worthy of being ruler…but it‘s told at birth who will be a guardian and who will be an archangel. I was the third one to become a high archangel since the great war between the fallen and the angels in the lands of sand.”
“Just sleep.” Jou ordered, smiling when Ryou did exactly that in a few minutes. Gently laying the angel down, he walked downstairs, smiling at his dad. “Hey. I‘m going to go for a walk” he informed his father, who nodded.
“Be careful, Katsuya.” The older man warned. “It wouldn’t do for you to go and get yourself hurt while you have to take care of your friend.”

Jounochi Residence
Domino City, Japan
