Author's Note: Ugh, I totally could have done better with this chapter...to be honest I had this written a while back, but I was jest too lazy too post it. I apologize about the shortness of it, but look on the bright side. There's a guaranteed lemon next chapter ^_^

CHAPTER 3

“You keep that thing away from me!” Bakura shouted as his back hit the wall.

“Oh, come on! It's not going to hurt you!” Ryou complained as he continued to advance.

“LIAR!” Bakura shouted as he ducked under Ryou's outstretched arm, only to get tangled in the cord of the hairdryer.

“What is wrong with you? You used to love blow-drying your hair! You said it reminded you of the wind in Egypt!” Ryou huffed as he pulled the hairdryer free of his yami. “What changed?”

“What changed?! That Ra forsaken thing nearly killed me!” Bakura shouted as he pointed an accusing finger at the device.

Ryou looked at the hairdryer. “How did it do that?”

“I was running late one day and I tried to dry my hair while in the shower to save time.” Bakura said as-a-matter-of-factly. “And that thing tried to kill me! What are you laughing at?!”

Ryou struggled to breathe properly between gasping breaths. “Bakura! Electricity and water don't mix! Haven't I explained it to you before? Besides, it's fine now. So just hold still.”

Refusing to give that thing another chance to kill him, Bakura ran out of the bathroom. With a sigh, Ryou put down the hairdryer and chased after him into the bedroom, only to spot Bakura jumping out of the window into the yard below.

Ryou rolled his eyes at the dramatics his yami went through to get out of something.

/Make sure you get to school on time./

//Whatever.//

Going back to getting himself ready, Ryou spotted Bakura's jacket lying on the bed.

/Bakura, you forgot your jacket!/

Receiving no reply, Ryou grabbed it and headed out the door, hoping to find Bakura before the school day started.

After a good half hour of searching, Ryou had finally given up and headed to Domino High, hoping to spot Bakura in the few minutes before class started.

Looking around the schoolyard, Ryou was shocked to find Bakura casually leaning against a tree staring right back at him.

: It's about time you got here. :

Ryou's mouth fell open as he took in his dark's unkept form.

His hair was a wild mess, due to the fact that it had dried while the boy was running. His eyes gleamed, probably still filled with the exhilaration of the exercise. His shirt was still untucked and only being held together by two buttons, showing off the top of his sculpted chest, and the bottom of his toned stomach.

Shaking himself out of his revere, Ryou made his way over to Bakura, forcing a smile upon his rose tinted face.

“Honestly, Bakura, you're such a mess. Look, you didn't even button the two buttons right.” Ryou scolded lightly as he handed Bakura his jacket and went to work on the buttons.

Working his way from the top down, Ryou forced himself to concentrate on the task at hand, and not on how smooth Bakura's chest felt under his fingers when the accidental contact was made. Knowing he was failing his task miserably, he erected his mental shields once again, hoping they would go unnoticed.

“Baka buttons.” Bakura grumbled. “They don't make any sense. Why not just sew them together and let people put their shirts on the old way?”

Ryou smiled. “Because your `old way' involves people not wearing shirts at all most of the time, and that's considered unacceptable by today's standards.”

“That's not true. The women wore loose dresses, as did the men at times. And don't lie to me about it being unacceptable. I've seen people walk around with no shirts loads of times.” (A/N: Wah! I don't remember the technical term for those `loose dresses'! I'm sorry!)

“Yes, but only when they're at the beach. Now here, put you're jacket on.” Ryou said as he finished with the last button and took a step back, giving Bakura some room to throw his jacket on.

At that moment, the first bell rang, signally everyone it was time to start thinking about heading to class. Bakura growled, as he picked up his bag and threw it over his shoulder. Taking a few steps forward, he looked behind him.

Frowning slightly, he noticed that Ryou's eyes were downcast and his breathing seemed to be somewhat labored. Bakura instantly tried their link, only to find that it was closed off to him once again.

“Ryou, are you all right?” he asked.

“What?” Ryou jumped, startled by the hand that had been placed on his shoulder.

Looking up, he saw Bakura, his eyes boring into his.

“I'm fine. It's nothing.” Ryou said as he quickly brushed off Bakura's hand. “Come on, we'll be late for class.”

Bakura scowled. He'd had enough of his damned hikari's evasiveness. He wanted answers damn it! Even if it meant following him to the Land of the Dead, he'd find out.

With that in mind, Bakura followed Ryou, poking at the mind barriers every so often to see if they had been let down.

By the time they reached 3rd period, Bakura had given up trying to sneak his way into his Light's mind. He had decided the best way was to just catch him with his guard down, like right before lunch ended.

To his surprise, however, Ryou didn't wait until the end of lunch. No sooner had the bell rung and Ryou was already to the door.

Making it a point to put up his own mind shields, Bakura carefully began to follow Ryou through the twists and turns of the many halls until they arrived in the older, lesser-used wing of the school.

Slightly confused as to what they were doing there, Bakura remained silent in his pursuit of his lighter half.

He watched as Ryou approached the boys' restroom and paused as he turned to look around.

Bakura stood back, slightly puzzled. Why would Ryou travel all this way just to take a piss? It couldn't be because he was embarrassed about his size or anything. Bakura knew the boy was well endowed.

Frowning at his confusion, Bakura quietly made his way to the door and silently slipped in; ready to face the truth behind what his Hikari was hiding.
