(Meira: Chapter 10! Battle City will now commence as planned!

Yami: Do you mind not using such big words… you're making my head hurt.

Meira: Why else do you think I'm using them?

Yami: I know, I know. To torture me.

Meira: Yup. ^-^

Yami: o_o Meira doesn't own Yu-Gi-Oh.

Meira; Yup. *sniffle*

Yami: Good grief…

Meira: *watching episode or Pokémon Master Quest, paying no attention to Yami or viewers*

Yami: *waving hand in front of Meira's face* Hello? You in there?

Meira: Damn… Pikachu just gets better every time… too bad Ash doesn't use Pikachu much in Hoenn much anymore…

Yami: WHAT THE-?!?

Meira: Whoops… you don't even know what Pokémon is…

Yami: Right.

Meira: Better get on with the story…

Yami: Bad news. Meira's dad is making her work on preparing for the Terra Novas [high school exam] so she only gets two hours on the computer a day. Barely enough time to make a decent chapter…

Meira: GO ESPEON!!!

~~Saéka's POV~~

I looked around Battle City, hoping to see Yugi somewhere. I mean, Battle City started today… and Kaiba was going to announce the tournament pretty soon… where was he? I was pretty sure that Joey was also participating.

I saw Yugi. He was walking around, glancing in every direction, like he was looking for somebody.

//Where's Joey?// I heard the voice flit across my mind. Strange… it sounded like Yugi… but what was that?

//I'm not sure.// A voice answered. Even stranger… that sounded like Yami.

//He's got to be around here somewhere.// I heard Yugi's voice again. Strange… What was this? Was I somehow listening to Yugi's thoughts? Damnit… what was this world coming to?

"Yugi!" I called. He turned and waved.

"Saéka," Yugi replied. "Hey!" He ran over.

"What's up?" I asked. "Looking for Joey?"

"How'd you know?" he asked, looking surprised.

"I thought I heard you ask where Joey was… and Yami replied," I said. Yugi stared at me. Okay… maybe it was a mistake to tell him that. "Never mind."

"Have you seen him?" Yugi asked hopefully. "I've looked for him everywhere…"

"Nope," I replied, shaking my head. "I haven't seen anybody that I know here… besides Weevil Underwood…" I shuddered.

"You know Weevil?" he asked skeptically.

"Met him in Canada," I replied, shrugging. "He was on vacation or something… beat him in a duel too!" I smiled.

"Yeah," he said, glancing around again. He clearly still had his mind on finding Joey. I smiled at him.

"I'll help you look," I offered. "You can go that way and I'll go this way. Knowing Joey, he wouldn't miss the beginning of this tournament for the world!" Yugi smiled.

"Thanks," he smiled gratefully, and we went our separate ways. Now that I was looking for Joey, where was Kai? He had to be here somewhere… he and Riruka had promised to be here for the start of the tournament… now where were they?

I glanced around. No sign of Joey, Kai, or Riruka. Where were they? Clearly Yugi had something important that he wanted to tell Joey, so where was he?

I remembered hearing that voice in my head… the ones that had sounded eerily like Yugi and Yami's. What the hell?

~~Kai's POV~~

"Nice job, Kai," I muttered, running toward the place where Battle City would begin. "You picked a great day to oversleep…" [Meira: Sound familiar? Téa said the same thing, just I replaced Téa with Kai. Hehe… Yami: GLTB's gonna kill you. Meira: *gulp*]

"Kai!" a voice called. I turned to see Riruka. Gulp. Hopefully she wouldn't try to get together with me this time… now truly wasn't the time.

"Hey…" I replied, monotone.

"Have you seen Saéka?" she asked, being the bubbly person she was… I thought I heard a `like' in there too… but I wasn't paying much attention.

"No," I muttered. "I've been looking for her everywhere…"

"So have I," she said, glancing around. "I can't find her anywhere…"

"Yeah," I replied, trying to find somebody that I knew.

"Greetings duelists," a voice came. "I see you've all had the brains to show up here today." I looked up to see Kaiba's huge face on a television screen attached to a blimp. Where'd this guy get all his money?

I looked around again. I saw Yugi, he was standing there, focusing on what Kaiba was saying. I waited until Kaiba had finished talking, and then I ran up to him.

"Yugi!" I called. He turned and saw me.

"Hey," he replied, still looking around.

"Have you seen Saéka?" Riruka asked, running up next to me.

"Yeah," he replied. "I saw her a few minutes ago."

"Where?" I asked. Saéka couldn't have gone that far…

"Over there," he pointed to an area. "She promised me she'd help me look for Joey, then we both went our separate ways."

"Thanks Yugi!" I said, before Yugi seemed to notice something.

"Where are ya?" a voice asked angrily, echoing through this area. I looked down to see Joey storming angrily through an area, heading toward a small café that was placed in the corner of this city.

"Joey!" Yugi yelled, before running away to go down and join Joey.

Riruka and I looked at each other, then ran toward the area that Yugi had pointed at. Saéka had to be there… somewhere.

~~Yugi's POV~~

I ran down to Joey. He looked pretty mad… I wonder what was up?

"It's time to duel!" I head Joey shout, pointing his finger at a guy sitting at the café.

"Joey!" I shouted, running up to him. "What's going on?"

"That no good punk took my Red Eyes!" he shouted. "And I'm gonna duel him to get it back!"

I looked over at the person he was pointing at. Wait… that guy was wearing the same robes that Bandit Keith was wearing when he dueled me! Could this person be associated with the same person that was controlling Keith's mind?

"I've already relieved you of your rarest card," the guy said, standing up. "But perhaps your friend would be interested in dueling me. It would be an honor to strip the King of Games of his rarest card, the Dark Magician."

"This is between you and me!" Joey shouted.

"Hold on, Joey," I said. "I accept your challenge!" Wow… I even surprised myself by saying that. What the hell was I doing?

"Yugi," Joey said, trying to stop me. But I wouldn't back down now. I had to get Joey's Red Eyes Black Dragon back.

Since he won that card from Rex Raptor, it's always been special to him… and I would get it back for him no matter what the stakes.

Yami took over, and prepared to duel.

"Prepare to duel!" Yami shouted.

"As you wish," the guy smirked.

"If I win, you will give back Joey's Red Eyes, and if you win, I will hand over my rarest card, the Dark Magician," Yami continued.

"Yug'!" Joey shouted. "I won't let you risk your Dark Magician for me!"

"Joey!" Yami replied. "I'm going to have to risk losing my Dark Magician sometime. I can't keep holding back just because I don't want to lose it."

"But Yug'…" Joey said, looking startled.

"You ready to duel?" the robed guy sneered. Yami nodded.

"Activate Holo - imagers!" Yami yelled. [Meira: I thought that was hilarious… so I had to put it in… ^-^] The little hologram projectors flew out of the duel disk, and landed away from Yami, making a dueling arena… right in front of the café.

The hologram projectors flew from the robed guy's duel disk too, forming his half of the dueling arena. Life points set to 4000.

"Let's duel!" they shouted in unison.

~~Saéka's POV~~

"Saéka!" a voice shouted. I turned around to see Kai and Riruka running toward me. This sort of surprised me, since Riruka was not hitting on Kai at all. Perhaps she'd learned how to restrain herself…

"Hey!" I shouted, waving. Though I felt so conspicuous, with my new Duel Disk on my arm. Though I had to admit that it looked cool…

"Looks like Battle City has started," Kai said, grinning rather stupidly. I glared at him.

"Duh!" I said, throwing up my hands in exasperation. "That's why there are all these duelists here around town…"

We all laughed.

"You just activated my trap card," I heard a voice yell. I turned to see Yami dueling. How could I tell that it wasn't Yugi? This guy looked like he was wearing more of a trench coat than Yugi's normal school uniform… not to mention that he was at least four inches taller than Yugi… "Chain Destruction!"

"Noo!" I heard somebody yell. I saw a guy wearing a strange robe… one that looked oddly familiar. Like I had seen it somewhere before…

Then it hit me. Marik had been wearing that robe. Was he here? What was he doing here? These thoughts ran wildly through my head as I panicked. I remembered his words that I had heard two years ago…

//The next time I see you, I will kill you.//

Maybe he wasn't here… maybe it was his followers or something. But I still had something that he wanted… the Winged Dragon of Ra.

And I knew that he would come and get it.

"While it cannot destroy your Exodia Head on the field, it can destroy the ones in your hand and deck," Yami continued, interrupting my thoughts. "Now I activate my trap card, Dust Tornado!" [Meira: I can't remember which card he used…] "It destroys your Swords of Revealing Light on the field!"

"No!" the guy yelled. What were they called? Rare Hunters?

"And now I summon Alpha, the Magnet Warrior!" Yami yelled. "Summoned Skull's electricity raises Alpha's attack power by 300 points!"

"This can't be happening!" the Rare Hunter shouted.

Yami won the duel. Did Yugi ever duel for himself, or did Yami help him? Yeesh, this was confusing.

"Looks like Battle City is already underway," Kai said softly. I nodded. And by the looks of it… this wasn't going to be an easy battle.

(Meira: Rather crappy, short chapter… this is just to get Battle City started. I still have to read some episode guides… I'm having trouble finding a good site to read episode guides. Anyone know one besides tvtome, janime, Sennenrage, and The Heart of the Cards? The duels will begin soon though! If only it didn't take me so long to write just one chapter… And I don't remember the exact dialogue, so the dialogue in this chapter pretty much might be incorrect.

Ash: Pikachu, thunderbolt attack!

Pikachu: *uses thunderbolt* Pikachu!!!

Team Rocket: Team Rocket's blasting off again!!!

Wobuffet: Wobuffet!

Yami: What the-?

Meira: I just had to put that in. ^-^ I love how Pikachu uses thunderbolt! *stops paying attention and commences watching Yu-Gi-Oh!* COOL! I LOVE THIS DUEL!!!

Yami: Isn't this the one where Yugi versus Joey when Marik takes over Joey's mind?

Meira: Yup.

Yami: How can you like this episode?

Meira: It's good. I love this! *watches flashback* Cool… These are so awesome!!! Hey… that's how Joey got his Red Eyes! I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!!

Yami: Little bit of obsession there…

Meira: So?

Yami: … And where's GLTB? *whispers to viewers* I need her here to keep Meira from murdering me…

Meira: Don't be silly! I won't kill you! I'll only torture you relentlessly in my FanFics and in the authoress notes! Oh… and GLTB is helping me work out Daughter of the Nile… she's helping me figure out ideas and stuff.

Yami: …

Meira: AWESOME!!! MORE FLASHBACKS OF JOEY DUELING!!!

Yami: What about me?

Meira: Who cares?

Yami: …

Meira: No DBQs… I just want to know if I should write the duels out in detail, or if I shouldn't. By detail, I mean putting in every move, attack and defense points, life points… *sigh* It takes a while and it's very tiring to read, but some people like it. What do you guys want?

Yami: You know… I saw you read a FanFic where the authoress says "I LOVE YOU PHARAOH YAMI!" Why can't you do the same?

Meira: Fine. *punches Yami* I HATE YOU YAMI!!!

Yami: *rubbing arm* *to viewers* Remind me to never do that again…

Meira: ^-^)
