Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Dragon's Blood ❯ A world with no muggles ( Chapter 7 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Crimson eyes stared into emerald, narrow and vicious. Harry couldn't even breathe for a good several seconds. He could feel his heart racing, skipping every other beat as the stranger continued his gaze. For a moment, for those several long segments of short breaths, Harry could have sworn he was staring at Voldemort. Those scarlet irises, the pale skin, and the sudden chill down his spine, Harry would have easily taken out his wand and cast a hex to “silence” the already still being mistakenly thinking that it was the dark lord. However, after a little while, Harry could feel himself become relaxed and less agitated. The stranger did not blink, nor cease from this somewhat bizarre stare. Not one person moved, and none had the guts to even consider twitching in the presence of this individual. Harry could tell that Ron and Hermione were shocked and dumbfounded to make the first move. With a deep sigh, Harry took a step forward…

Blood red eyes shot towards him, a low growl escaping the youth's temper as it glared. Harry stopped. Already he had just thrown the stranger into a complete state of loathing. This creature was beginning to rise, forcing Harry, Ron, and Hermione to back away slowly. What were they going to do now? Ginny appeared in the doorway of the house, carrying some medicinal herbs and food in her arms. Harry became very alarmed and gave a hesitant gesture towards Ginny.

“What's going on you guys?” Ginny questioned, “You've looked like you've just seen a ghost.” Ron gave her an exaggerated look saying thanks-for-stating-the-obvious.

“Ginny, stay back,” Harry warned. Ginny looked from Harry to the youth with confusion written clear as day.

“What's wrong?” Ginny walked hurriedly to Harry's side and turned to see what he was looking at. Crimson eyes glowered as territory continued to be limited. Ginny stared at the youth, astonished how bright this person's eyes were. Ginny smiled.

“What are you smiling about?!” Ron shuttered. Ginny rolled her eyes. She gave the youth a kind and assuring look. At the first, the youth blinked (for the first time tonight), and continued to stare quizzically at all four people. To Harry, Ron, and Hermione's amazement, the individual stopped glaring and instead continued staring…with interest. Harry let out a sigh of relief. He could breathe again. Looking towards the youth, he too tried to smile. At least the youth didn't hate them.

“How did you do that, Ginny?” Hermione asked.

“It's complicated kinda hard to explain,” Ginny replied, “I'll tell you about it over dinner.” Hermione nodded and took a seat in one of the couches. Ginny bumped Ron hard in the side so that his jaw would close up, obviously taken aback and disappointed by Ron's behavior earlier.

“OWWW!” Ron shouted, “What did you do that for?”

“You weren't even moving!” she protested, “I don't see why you were so scared of him in the first place! You saw him and Yugi before you left to pick up Harry!”

“Well in case you haven't noticed…” Ron yelled back, “I didn't see him with his eyes open last time! If I knew it would have been that scary, then I might have been more prepared!”

“Oh yeah, sure! Nice excuse Ron!”

“It's the truth!”

“Ginny?” Ron, Ginny Hermione, and Harry looked towards the stairs. Standing before them was a replica of the one on the couch, only he was a bit shorter and not as muscular. He had a much more compassionate face with lavender eyes. Nothing up innocence escaped him, despite the black leather attire and strange garments he was wearing. He looked at them, perplexed and baffled by all the commotion.

“I heard some shouting, so I came down to see what was going on.”

“That was very thoughtful of you,” Ginny complimented, “Reminds me of a certain someone who used to not shout in my face all the time…”

“HEY!” Ron interrupted, “That better not have been directed at me!” The teen smiled and wandered down the stairs to meet everyone. If Harry wasn't confused before, then he obviously was now. He was certain that he had just met the devil on the couch and all of a sudden an angel appears from the stairs. Harry shook his head and locked the train of thoughts in the back of his mind.

“Konichiwa! My name is Mutou, Yugi…it's nice to meet you!” Yugi bowed a little and Harry was taken aback.

“Konichi…what?” Harry asked.

“It means `hello' in Japanese,” Yugi replied. Harry nodded and extended his hand.

“I'm Harry. This is Ron and Hermione. It looks like you have already met Ginny and the others.” Yugi returned the greeting and shook pleasantly. Harry was surprised. His hands were like an angels touch for some reason, warm and soft.

“You friend just woke up a few minutes ago,” Ginny told Yugi, “He's on the couch waiting for you.”

“YOU SERIOUS?!” Yugi bounded towards his companion and was soon sitting next to the pillow where he was resting his head.

“You should have told me that you were awake, silly!” Yugi teased, “I would have come down here sooner!” Those crimson eyes shifted to the floor and Harry could have sworn he saw a blush appear on the older one's face. Yugi' stroked the teen's neck gingerly and allowed his companion to rest his head on the cushioned pillows on his light's lap, a purr escaping every now and then. Harry and Ron were starring at the situation in disbelief. Yugi had just comforted someone that look too cold-hearted to be human. Ho can that being become a raging fire at one point and suddenly die down to an innocent flicker of complete loyalty? Their illusion was broken off by Hermione's voice calling out to them. Embarrassed, they allowed the two girls speak with the two new guests.

“This is Yami,” Yugi introduced, “Sorry if he didn't talk much. We've been through…a lot lately. I don't know if he will be able to tonight.”

“I can speak just fine, Aibou…” Everyone jumped back. Crimson eyes fluttered open, staring at the group lazily.

“You mean he can talk?” Ron asked. Hermione jabbed him hard in the side. Yugi chuckled.

“What do you mean by that?” Yami questioned irritably. Ron gulped.

“Well…I…ah…” Ron stuttered.

“Give it a rest Yami…” Yugi told the spirit, “Besides, we owe a lot to them. We are safe now…thanks to their help.” Yami blinked and nodded.

“Thank you…for taking care of aibou.” Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny nodded.

“You're welcome,” Ginny replied.

“Sorry for my actions earlier,” Yami apologized deeply, “I shouldn't have acted so rashly.” Hermione shook her head.

“No…no, it was truly alright,” Hermione explained, “It's…natural…right guys?” Harry and Ron were mouthing “yeah right” to her. Yugi smiled gently.

“Yami, this is Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny,” Yugi introduced, “They are really nice people. Trust me…they took really good care of you and me.” Yami gave him a sarcastic stare.

“If they are your friends Yugi, then they are mine friends as well.” Yugi beamed at him and continued to stroke Yami's hair. Molly came into the room, carrying dishes and her hands.

“Would you all be so kind as to help with setting up dinner?” Molly asked kindly, “Oh…I see that you two are awake.” Yugi nodded and Yami gave a sincere look.

“Well, the more the merrier!” Molly exclaimed, “Professor Dumbledore and Lupin will be eating with us tonight. Bill and Charlie will be coming as well…” Everyone nodded and took out what looked to be wands. Immediately, Hermione turned back to Yugi and Yami.

“Hold on to that couch, you two.” Yugi and Yami both exchanged confused looks when they suddenly began ascending into the air, the couch along with them. They stared bewildered at the wizards below, waving their wands and allowing furniture to be moved away and rearranged. Ginny and Ron began moving sofas, couches, and tables into the living room, while Harry and Hermione places everything else in an organized position. Yugi and Yami were soon placed near a table in the middle of the room, other couches and sofas encircling it. Harry and Ron took a seat in a couch next to Yugi, while Hermione and Ginny took another couch next to Harry and Ron.

Soon, Bill and Charlie, along with the Weasley brothers, came in with dishes and food floating in mid-air. Bill had red hair wrapped in a pony tail with shimmering eyes and a black leather jacket. He had an earring in the shape of a dragon fang (this made Yami shudder). Charlie had a good-natured structure with red hair and freckles. Fred and George will identical to the very brim of their shoes. Both had red hair, beige skin, and smiles on their faces. Setting the dishes down lightly on the table, they stashed their wands away and looked at the group.

“WHAT THE HELL!” Bill exclaimed. They had just spotted Yami and Yugi, staring at them with confused looks.

“I know that Fred and George look alike, but this is ridiculous,” Charlie laughed.

“Hey!” Fred protested.

“Watch it!” George finished. Bill and Charlie strode over towards Yugi and Yami, extending their hands.

“My name is Bill, and this is Charlie,” Bill introduced, shaking hands with Yugi. George and Fred came strolling towards them, staring in bewilderment.

“I know that you two already know us, but we are Fred and George,” they both said at the same time. Yugi smiled.

“Well, at least I know that Yami and I aren't the only twins here,” Yugi laughed, “Can one of you wear something so that I know which one of you is which.”

“But of course!” Fred exclaimed, pinning a “Welcome to the Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes” on it. Yugi looked at the badge with interest.

“Do you guys own a shop or something?”

“Good question lad!” Fred began.

“Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, at your service,” George continued.

“We own the best joke shop in the entire wizarding world.”

“And our business is expanding.”

“Come stop by sometime to get your very own practical joke…”

“And you too can gain the talent of the ultimate prankster.” Yugi laughed loudly and Yami made a sneer. This made Harry and Ron greatly confused.

“You guys should meet my friends Joey and Honda,” Yugi smiled, “They pull of pranks all the time! I should definitely have you guys have a go at it sometime!” Harry and Ron smiled at Hermione, who was gaping at Yugi sudden outburst.

“Why, it would be our honor,” Fred exclaimed. Molly soon came into the room with Arthur Weasley, Professor Dumbledore, and Lupin by her side.

“Come along now dearies,” she said happily, “I don't want this food getting cold, you hear?” Everyone nodded and took their seats. Bill and Charlie took their seats in a couch, along with the Weasley twins. Professor Dumbledore, Lupin, Arthur, and Molly sat in sofas, encircling the tables of food and what not. Yugi willingly filled his plate with food for Yami and himself. Harry and Ron practically emptied their trays, while everyone else gently set their food on their plates and began discussing events.

“Thanks for saving me and Yami back there,” Yugi thanked, “You saved our lives.” Dumbledore waved a weary hand and smiled back.

“Yes well, I could just leave two people out there in the middle of a cemetery at night,” Dumbledore replied, “Especially in the cemetery of Azkaban.” Yugi frowned a little. He knew where this was going and certainly didn't want to talk about it much. He felt Yami shift under his blanket, never taking eyes off of the headmaster.

“I am professor Dumbledore, as you already know,” Dumbledore began, “This is Remus Lupin. I am sure that you have met the others, no doubt…” Yugi nodded.

“Konichiwa,” Yugi replied, “I am Yugi, and this is Yami here.” Yami only gave a curt nod and laid his head back on the pillow. Professor Lupin looked at both of them very curiously. This made Yugi shake nervously as if he were being scanned. Setting the feeling aside, Yugi decided to ask some questions.

“What is Azkaban anyway?” Yugi asked.

“It is a place where wizards are sent when they use illegal magic,” Arthur explained, “It is a terrible place. The cemetery of Azkaban is a place where the prisoners are buried whose souls are too dark to be laid to rest anywhere else.” Yugi gulped. It was just as he thought. He wasn't in Japan anymore.

“I'm kinda lost right now,” Yugi began slowly, setting down his food and pouring some tea, “Yami and I don't know where we are or how we got here. We would really like to go home, but we don't know where to start. Can you tell me what's going on?” Dumbledore nodded.

“You are in the wizarding world,” he explained, “This is a place that is shielded from the rest of the world do to its magic and what you muggles say `unnatural' things.”

“Muggle?”

“It means non magic people,” Hermione answered. Yugi gave an I-get-it expression and allowed the headmaster to continue.

“Because of such, muggles do not know the movements or whereabouts of any magic or relating to anything magical,” Dumbledore continued. Yugi thought for a second, stroking his chin a little.

“It must be tough though,” Yugi tried to reason, “How do you put up with so much secrecy. Something has to slip every now and then…wouldn't it?” Remus nodded.

“Sometimes, things do slip,” Lupin explained, “That is why we cast memory charms on people who find out. It makes them forget everything magical they have known or seen. That way, word won't come out about our existence.” Yugi looked at them nervously.

“You aren't going to erase my memories…are you?” he asked hesitantly. Dumbledore chuckled.

“Of course not,” the headmaster replied, “You have made so many new friends, I would think that it would be rude to take all those precious memories away, wouldn't you think?” Yugi smiled and gave a wonderful look towards the others. Hermione, Harry, Ron, and Ginny gave wide grins in return. Yugi sipped his tea, thanking it greatly that it was warm, unlike outside.

“I have many questions,” Yugi began, “About how Yami and I got here and what we should do. It is all so strange. Wands, wizards, charms…all of it seems like only a fairy tale. Yet, here I am with my best friend in a world where no one I know even exists. I'm kinda worried.” Molly nodded.

“It is alright to be scared deary,” she comforted, “I'm sure that anyone would if they found themselves lost with no one to turn to.” Yugi nodded and turned towards the headmaster.

“By the way, how did you know where I was?” Yugi asked, “And why did you help me?” Dumbledore looked towards Remus and Arthur, both giving precious body languages needed to answer the headmaster's reply. Setting down his food, Dumbledore began recalling events…

“First of all,” Dumbledore began, “Wizards are just like people…and like all people…not all of them are good.” Harry braced himself. This was the same speech he was given to by Hagrid at the leaky cauldron. Now it was Yugi's turn to hear the story.

“There is a dark wizard on the run…and his name is Voldemort.”

“Voldemort?” Yami questioned. Dumbledore nodded.

“Yes…many refer to him as You-Know-Who in fear of ever saying his name, for whenever said, darkness always befalls their precious memories.” Yami began using mind links with Yugi.

/ /So, there is someone here that is also evil. This is starting to feel like at home, right aibou/ /

/Almost too much Yami/

“Why is Voldemort feared?” Yugi asked, “Did he do something really bad?” Yugi noticed that a lot of the Weasleys were shuttering at the name, while Harry, Hermione, and Ginny were rolling their eyes.

“He has done more than cause suffering,” Dumbledore enlightened, “He murders.” Yugi covered his mouth, while Yami became even more interested.

“Voldemort has killed many in his path,” Lupin continued, “Including Harry's mother and father.”

“That's awful,” Yugi commented, giving Harry a sympathetic look, “But why?”

“Power…” Everyone turned to Yami, surprised by his response.

“Isn't that right, Professor?” The headmaster nodded.

“Indeed…the dark lord wishes for nothing else than immortality and power. To gain this, he gathers followers called Death Eaters and continuously murders to show that he is not afraid to kill the innocent.”

“His mark is a skull with a snake coming out of it,” Arthur said harshly, “It is the mark that is initiated into the sky whenever there is a murder. It is also inscribed on the arms of the followers, or Death Eaters if you will, who obey Lord Voldemort. He is feared throughout the entire wizarding world. Yami gave Yugi a serious look.

/ /It reminds me of Egypt back when Zork Necrophidius was in power…/ /

/Yeah…and when Dartz came along too…/

/ /…/ /

/Sorry Yami…didn't mean to bring up bad memories./

/ /It's alright Aibou…/ /

Harry found it awkward. Those two were just staring at each other. Why do they always stare? Are they even paying attention anymore? Dumbledore smiled and let them carry on with whatever they were up to.

/ /Yugi…the conversation…everyone is staring at us…/ /

/(a gasp) Oh…right!/

“So…” Yugi began as if nothing happened, “I'm guessing that the dark lord has something to do with us then…isn't it…” A nod. “That's what I thought.”

“I am glad that we are on the same road, Yugi,” Dumbledore began, “You see, the dark lord has been on the run for some time now. He disappeared about 15 years ago.” Yugi shook his head in confusion.

“You lost me…he disappeared 15 years ago?”

“Yes, Yugi,” Dumbledore began, “Back then, dark times and murders were always about. It was a dark night, as usual. The dark lord decided to visit the Potters one night, killing both James and Lily Potter. It was terrible, simply terrible.” Yugi turned towards Harry.

“You're family was murdered, Harry?” Yugi asked sadly.

“Yes…” Harry replied quietly.

“Voldemort wanted to kill Harry too…but he failed.” Yami's head jerked towards Harry, staring at him as if observing a very amusing object. Harry shifted in his seat, along with Ron who was in Yami's path.

“How did he survive?” Yugi asked.

“Harry is a very curious boy,” Dumbledore began, “Harry was only about a few months old when it happened. Voldemort was planning to us the Evada Kedavra, a curse that is used to kill someone instantly with a string of green light. However, is spell backfired and left Voldemort crumble to pieces while Harry escaped with a scar on his forehead.” Yugi blinked and looked from Harry, to Dumbledore, then back to Harry.

“Can I see the scar, Harry?” Yugi asked. The boy nodded and lifted his untidy bangs to reveal a lightning shaped scar etched in the middle of his forehead. Yugi gaped at it a little and turned towards Dumbledore.

“It looks like a shape of some sort,” Yugi began, “Like some kind of curse or something.” Hermione was taken back by his response.

“How did you know that, Yugi?” Hermione asked.

“Well, I have only heard about curses in books, and they only appear when someone uses a curse, right?” Dumbledore nodded.

“You are a quick study, Yugi,” the headmaster smiled, “I am glad.”

“How come Voldemort wasn't killed?” Yami questioned darkly, “If that spell backfired, then shouldn't he be dead if that was the curse of the Evada Kedavra?” Dumbledore raised on eyebrow and looked into those crimson eyes.

“You are very keen in details, aren't you Yami…” Dumbledore pointed out, “Indeed, that curse should have killed him, but it didn't. We are trying to figure out why it didn't kill him and why he still lingers in the wizarding world.” Yami nodded and looked towards Yugi.

/ /Something isn't right, Aibou./ /

/What do you mean, Yami?/

/ /This Voldemort person. He escaped death./ /

/Well…you escaped it too, didn't you?/

/ /… yes…I did. But how was he able to?/ /

/I don't know Yami…I don't know/

Yami saw Dumbledore's eyes scan him. He suddenly became alarmed.

/ /YUGI! Close your mind now!/ /

/Why Yami? What's wrong?/

/ /Just do it! Now!/ /

Yugi obeyed him quickly and closed his mind, trying to block out anything from the silent conversation he had with his spirit. Dumbledore looked surprised by their sudden movements, and then smiled brightly at them.

“Well, since then, Harry Potter has been known as the boy who lived,” Dumbledore continued calmly, “And ever since, he has be quite the celebrity over these past few years.”

“I bet,” Yugi replied smiling, “Surviving something like that would be a miracle.”

“Yes it would be,” Dumbledore smiled, his voice now becoming more serious, “Now…regarding tonight's events. Both of you were seen at the cemetery of Azkaban. It seems that there was a massacre there, am I correct?” Yugi nodded sadly.

“Both of you were also where the dark lord was last seen this very night.” All of the people in the room looked at Yugi and Yami in sudden shock and interest.

“You mean…we were near the dark lord?” Yugi asked, now shocked to the core.

“Yes…it seems that you and Yami were last scene in the dark lord presence.” Yami became very alarmed and glared very harshly. Yugi could sense his darkness' anger, and tried to comfort him. Stroking the spirit's neck, Yami became very relaxed and closed his eyes a little while before laying his head on the pillow again.

“You're friends seems agitated,” Lupin pointed out, “Are you sure he is alright?”

“Well, physically…no…mentally, maybe,” Yugi replied, “You were saying professor Dumbledore?”

“It seems that the dark lord was performing what we here in the wizard world call…a summoning.” Yugi gasped. That would explain things. The dark cemetery, not remembering anything…everything that has happened was all because of a summoning…but how…and why…

“You really think the dark lord tried to summon us?” Yugi questioned.

“I believe so since you were closest to where Lord Voldemort was last sensed tonight,” Arthur reasoned, “But we are still unsure if the summoning was successful or not.”

“Of course it was successful!” Yugi expounded, “That's the only reason why Yami and I are here. That's why I can't remember how I got anywhere near the wizarding world or in that cemetery…and Yami…” Yugi started shaking at the thought, “and Yami has been acting so strangely lately that I don't know what's wrong with him.” Yami looked up into Yugi's eyes, and for the first time tonight that Harry saw, he was sad.

/ /Did I do something wrong, Aibou?/ /

/You…you weren't yourself. You were unconscious throughout the entire thing and you looked different than before. You had claws and fangs, and I thought you had wings for a second…but...I thought it was all an illusion, but then you started to get angry again and attacked Mr. Weasley!/ Yami was taken aback by all of this.

/ /But…I don't remember anything, Aibou. Why don't I remember anything!/ / Yugi began to hug Yami tightly into his arms as the spirit began questioning himself over and over on what he did wrong. Professor Dumbledore looked at them sadly while Harry, Ron, and Hermione gazed at them with sympathy. To not know anything, even if it was bad, was the worst that could happen to a person…even in death.

/ /I…I can't remember! WHY CAN I NOT REMEMBER, AIBOU?!/ /

/Hush, Yami…it's ok…/

/ /It's not ok! Aibou…I attacked someone without even knowing. I don't understand anything! What if I attack you without knowing either?! Gods, this is so damn frustrating…/ /

/Yami…/

/ /I don't want to hurt you aibou! I don't want to…/ /

/You won't Yami…I promise you won't…/

/ /But what if I do? And then I wake up and see you dead in front of me, your blood drenched on my hands and my clothing?! I don't want that to happen…/ /

/Yami…it's ok…we'll find out something. Just calm down for me…shhhhh/ Yugi was right now rocking his Yami back and forth in his tight embrace, trying to comfort the spirit. Tears were streaming down Yami's cheeks as the spirit tried to hold back his sorrow. Everyone was moved by all of this, Harry especially. First it was rage, then content, and now sadness. How many mood shifts was this guy going to have anyway? Dumbledore cerulean eyes became more serious.

“I understand that you two are lost,” Dumbledore began, “We have spilled all the secrets, for now, that we can give about the Dark Lord and the cemetery at this point. Is there any reason why Voldemort would take interest in summoning you two?” Yugi thought for a while. Why would Voldemort summon them? They had never met and they had never seen each other. How could he summon them without even knowing who they were? Or did he?

/ /I think he was trying to summon me…Yugi/ / Yugi's eyes shifted to Yami's crimson.

/You?/

/ /Yes…me…/ /

/But why?/

/ /Maybe because I was pharaoh once…remember? Not only was I a pharaoh of light but I also contained shadow magic within me…maybe he wanted that Yugi./ /

/That would make sense…but I don't know if we should tell them…about you being pharaoh and all. What if it does more harm than good?/

/ /Do you trust these people, Aibou?/ / Yugi thought for a second. These people did save their lives and were willing to do anything to help them get home whatever way possible. Besides, they did share their secrets. It would only be fair to give something in return.

/Yes…but what about you?/

/ /Do you trust them, Yugi?/

/Yes…Yami…I do trust them./

/ /Then it is…alright…/ /

/Are you sure Yami?/

/ /If you are certain that you can trust them…and if it means protecting you from Voldemort…then tell them all that you know. If they are whom you can trust, then I trust them as well Yugi./ / Yugi felt Yami's mind shift into comforting ones and Yugi gave a confidential nod.

“Alright,” Yugi began, “I guess that I can tell you.” Everyone stopped eating and began scooting in to listen.

“I am from Japan,” Yugi began, “But Yami is from Egypt.” Bill gave a startled look.

“You mean, he is from Egypt?” A nod.

“He was…pharaoh…” Everyone became very startled about this. Hermione became very suspicious and taken aback by this news.

“But…that's impossible,” Hermione exclaimed, “If he was pharaoh, then we would still have kings and princes. But, we don't have those anymore…”

“It's just as possible has having Voldemort coming back to life, don't you think?” Yugi asked. Hermione opened her mouth but said nothing.

“He does have a point, Hermione,” Fred commented.

“He got you there, mate…” George finished.

“So if he is pharaoh…then how old is he, anyway?” Ron asked. Yugi shifted in his seat.

“3,000 years old…” Harry gaped at him, like everyone else in the room.

“3,000 years old?!” Harry asked in astonishment, “How is that possible?”

“It's because of this…” Yugi took off his jacket and reached into one of his pockets. Inside of it was a golden trinket in the shape of a pyramid with the eye of Horus engraved on the middle. It was held by a silver chain that could easily be worn around the neck. However, the pyramid was pointing towards the ground, unlike the regular pyramids found in Egypt.

“This is a sennen item,” Yugi explained, “There are seven in all. 3,000 years ago, a great war began between Egypt and a powerful darkness. To stop it, Yami…or the pharaoh if you will, destroyed it by sealing his soul into this…the sennen puzzle. Others were sealed as well and Egypt was saved. Then, 3,000 years later, the spirit awakened when I solved this puzzle and Yami appeared. Since then, I have been getting myself and my friends into all sorts of trouble. And now…just when I thought it was all over, this happens…” Yugi also began shedding tears as he held tighter onto the spirit. It was a sad image and was making everyone in the room depressed.

“Don't worry, Yugi,” Ginny comforted, “We'll find a way to get you back home. And don't worry, if the Dark Lord does come for you, then I promise that we will do anything to protect you and Yami…” Yugi looked up with innocent eyes.

“Really, you guys would do that for us?”

“Of course we would…” Harry agreed, “Besides, the entire wizarding world is on the look out for the Dark Lord. So even if he makes a move, we will know about it. So stop beating yourself up about it, alright?” Harry gave Yugi a nice pat on the back, which made Yugi smile in his grief. Dumbledore began concluding the meeting.

“Yami…he is pharaoh is he not?” Dumbledore asked. Yugi wiped his tears away.

“Yes…Yugi began, “He was very powerful.”

“And you say that there are others out there?”

Yugi nodded. “Yes, there are others that have the same power, and some have different spirits. Those who possess the sennen items are able to control shadow magic. I know a little, but not nearly as enough as Yami does.” Dumbledore slowly began to understand.

“Are any of those people against you in any way?” Dumbledore asked.

“You could say that they used to, but they aren't now,” Yugi replied, “Bakura may still hold a grudge and Merak will definitely have one, but all and all, everyone is quite content. What does it matter?”

“You say…you come from Japan…” Lupin began.

“Well, yeah…both Yami and I lived there with out friends.”

“Then perhaps, there is a way to get you back,” Lupin answered. Yugi's eyes widened.

“You really think so?” Yugi asked happily.

“It's quite simple really,” Lupin replied, “If what you say is true and that you come from a muggle world, then perhaps all we have to use is a port key to help you get home.” Hermione was suddenly flowing with ideas in her mind.

“Yes! Yes, that could work!” Hermione exclaimed, “A port key is something a wizard uses to get from the wizarding world to the muggle world without any disturbances. You just tell us where you live and we can get you there as quickly as possible!” Yugi beamed at them, smiling widely now.

“Really?! That would be awesome!”

“I don't think that is such a good idea,” Dumbledore began. Harry stared at Dumbledore as if he were mad.

“What do you mean, professor?” Harry inquired.

“The dark lord summoned Yugi and Yami into this world for a reason. Returning them to whence they came won't change that. Lord Voldemort will simply hunt them down and it might endanger the wizarding world.”

“Point taken,” Ron said.

“But…if it has to do with anything about me,” Yugi reasoned, “Then that means my friends are in danger as well!” Everyone looked at Yugi in surprise.

“All of this trouble tonight…because of me,” Yugi muttered, “If you what you say is true, then my friends are in danger! I will not go back to them…not if I am putting them in danger as well!” Harry smiled at him. His loyalty to his friends was just as powerful as his. He would protect his friends, even if it meant he would never see them for a long while. This was admiring. Dumbledore smiled.

“Then perhaps, they should come to you…” Dumbledore suggested. Yugi looked at him curiously.

“What do you mean, bring them here?” Yugi asked.

“As you can see, each enemy has its weakness. In your case, it is the loyalty to your friends. Eventually the dark lord will find out about them, no matter how much you hide your companions away from him.” Yugi opened his mouth for a moment, but decided not to say anything. It was true. Even if he could shield his friends from Voldemort would just put them in more danger. But bringing them here would put them in danger. What could he do?

“So…then…what should I do? What can I do to protect them?” Yugi asked hastily.

“Calm down, mate,” Fred suggested.

“You are starting to turn red,” George finished. Yugi received nods from Ron, Harry, Hermione, and Ginny. The young teen shifted his lavender eyes to Dumbledore and breathed again.

“I have an offer to make,” Dumbledore began, “One in which I hope that you will inquire and accept.” Yugi raised an eyebrow.

“What kind of an offer?” Yugi asked. Dumbledore smiled.

“There are three schools in the wizarding world that trains young wizards to become perfect in spells and in education so that they may enter the dangers that exist in the future,” Dumbledore began, “I am the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I have several students in this room, even Arthur Weasley and Remus were once my pupils.” Yugi glanced around the room. Everyone was smiling at him, nodding their heads in assurance.

“So…what do you want?”

“To ask you…if you would and your friend, Yami, would attend Hogwarts not just for your well benefit as a man, but as protection.” Yugi looked from Dumbledore, then to his Yami.

“My…protection?”

“Hogwarts is guarded by many ancient spells, and not even Lord Voldemort has penetrated them before,” Dumbledore explained, “It is the safest place in the entire wizarding world from the dark lord. If you wish…you can attend as a student to help protect yourself and your friends. You may even learn a few things on how to control magic as well.” Yugi looked at him intriguingly.

“But, don't I have to be a wizard to attend you school?” Yugi asked, “And what about my friends? They don't know how to use magic at all…they aren't even wizards.” Dumbledore raised a hand.

“I understand your concern,” Dumbledore replied, “You have already told me that you control a little shadow magic. Though I believe it is dark, it is still magic the same. Your friend also qualifies as well, doesn't he?” Yugi gave a nod.

“And as for your friends, they can attend as guests and not students. I am afraid that they won't learn how to create magic if they aren't wizards. However, I am offering you and your friends to go as protection for yourselves and not just to learn.” Yugi thought about this for a while.

/Yami…what do you think?/

/ /…/ /

/Yami?/ By the looks of things, his Yami had fallen asleep. It would be rude to wake him up, so Yugi decided for the both of them.

“I accept your offer,” Yugi replied, “But where do I begin? I don't have any supplies and I don't know what I am supposed to do.”

“Tell me, Yugi…how old are you?” Yugi gave the headmaster a stunned look.

“Well, I am 17…We'll pretend that Yami is 17…”

“Then…it would seem that you will be taking 6th year classes among the students,” Dumbledore concluded, “However…I do need for you to do something in order to enter that year.” Yugi gave him a quizzical look.

“What is it?” Yugi asked. Dumbledore took out a sheet of parchment and handed it to Yugi across the table. Yugi opened the note and looked at it for a second.

“O.W.Ls?” Yugi asked, “What the heck are O.W.Ls?” Everyone in the room was gaping at Dumbledore, even Remus and Arthur Weasley.

“Professor Dumbledore, you can't be serious?!” Hermione exclaimed, “He hasn't even taken wizarding years 1-5 yet!” Dumbledore nodded.

“Allow me to explain,” Dumbledore began, “Yugi, O.W.L stands for Ordinary Wizarding Levels. It is an exam 5th years take to test their skills over their 5 years at Hogwarts. O.W.Ls determine which classes they take next year and the carriers they will take in their lives. 6th years are required to have taken them before they are allowed to enter Hogwarts for their 6th year.” Yugi was shocked.

“But…but,” Yugi stuttered, “How am I supposed to take them without training?” Dumbledore smiled.

“I am offering you help,” Dumbledore explained.

“What kind of help, Professor Dumbledore?” Harry asked.

“There is still a month left until Hogwarts officially starts. I am going to give Yugi and Yami the exams tomorrow so that they can finish them before Hogwarts begins. They will be given textbooks and are allowed to have someone check over them. But, they will not receive outside help from anyone, including you three.” Harry and Ron frowned. Yugi wouldn't be able to ask Hermione for help. She had gotten on OUTSTANDING on all of her owls, except Defense Against the Dark Arts. Summer was going to be a living hell now.

“But, professor,” Yugi protested, “Why do I have to take them? I know they are required, but like you said. I am only staying at the school for protection from Voldemort. I don't know if I will be staying in the wizarding world permanently.” Dumbledore raised his hand once more.

“I am giving you this for reassurance in the future, Yugi,” Dumbledore explained, “As you well know…port keys transports anyone from the wizarding world to the muggle world and vise versa whenever they please. I am just thinking that if you do not find a suitable job in your world, then perhaps you will find one suitable in our world, don't you think?” Yugi gave a curt nod. Indeed…but how would he explain this to Grandpa. He couldn't just drop out of college.

“I think that is enough information for one night,” Dumbledore began, “I will see you all tomorrow night. There is something I need to tell you that might be vital. Well, I have wasted enough of your time. Good night.” With that, Professor Dumbledore, Arthur Weasley, Remus Lupin, Fred, George, Charlie, and Bill began to rise and start towards the door.

“Where are you guys going?” Yugi asked, “Will you be back tomorrow.”

“Of course we will, mate,” Fred exclaimed.

“We wouldn't want to miss you on your second here in the world!” George continued.

“Besides, we want to know more about Joey and Honda.”

“You have made us curious.” Yugi smiled.

“Alright…” Lupin stroded towards Yugi and shook his hand.

“I will see you tomorrow then,” Lupin said, “Take care of yourself here.”

“I will, Remus…” Yugi replied. Lupin gave a pat on Yami's back and proceeded towards the door. Everyone was leaving as Arthur and Molly kissed good bye.

“I'll see you tomorrow after work, deary,” Molly kissed. Arthur nodded and closed door behind him. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny stretched their arms out and pulled out their wands. But Molly stopped them.

“Oh no dearies!” Molly insisted, “I will clean up this mess. You go find a suitable room for our new guests here.” Harry and Ron nodded and helped Yugi carry Yami up towards the stairs. All of them reached the doorway of Fred and George's room and opened it to reveal a sudden smell of experiments gone wrong. They set Yami on a nearby bed and Yugi turned to see Ginny holding pajamas for him.

“These are for you and Yami,” Ginny began, handing them to Yugi, “Don't want you to get cold and all.” Yugi smiled.

“Thank you Ginny,” Yugi replied, “I'll make sure to put them on.” Hermione bid them a good night and both Ginny and Hermione left the room. Harry, Ron, and Yugi began to undress.

“What about Yami?” Ron asked.

“Oh…don't worry,” Yugi replied innocently, “Ginny and I gave him a bath when we got to your house after you left. By the way, thanks for letting us stay…that was very nice of you.”

“He…no problem mate,” Ron answered back, “Anything for a new guest in the house as mom always says.”

“Say Yugi,” Harry asked, “About Yami…did you really see him have wings?”

“Well…now I come to think of it,” Yugi began, “He had black ones, really big. They were dragon like, but I wasn't sure. It was kinda dark out when I saw them.” Yugi finished undressing and began pulling the covers over him, also wrapping the puzzle around his neck.

“How can you sleep with that thing on?” Ron asked, “Don't you get uncomfortable.”

“Not really,” Yugi replied happily, “I get used to it. I don't feel right without it. Besides, it reminds me of Yami, even though he sleeps with me. Besides, I get kinda paranoid without it on me.” Harry and Ron shrugged and proceeded into their beds as the covers blocked the remaining dark clouds in the sky. Yugi shifted in his bed, holding his Yami close to him.

“You are going to have a hell of time with those O.W.Ls, mate,” Ron warned, “Man…I feel sorry for you.”

“Don't worry about it,” Yugi replied, “I'll start first thing in the morning. I'll just ask for some text books, that's all.” All three of them nodded and turned off the lamps in the room. Yugi held tightly to Yami, feeling slow breaths escaping the pharaoh's lips. He could feel Yami snuggling closer to him, trying to get comfortable. Yugi smiled, and buried his face in his hair.

“Sleep well, Yami…”
