"Normal Speech" ------ ~Thoughts~ ------ /hikari to yami/ ------ //yami to hikari// ------ *Kaiba Seto to High Priest Seto* ------ **High Priest Seto to Kaiba Seto**

Okay, here we go!!!}

-

Kaiba Seto sighed as he sat in his seat in the classroom. He rarely came to class, due to his work, but he'd had a dream that told him that it would be worth it to come today, so he came. As students flocked the room, he heard that the boy, Mutou Yuugi, was being picked on by bullies again, but a boy claiming to be Yuugi's cousin easily defeated them. Seto hummed to himself. ~A boy that can make others flee and protects a worthless piece of shit kid... Something's bothering me about that...~ He thought darkly.

When Yuugi came in, he sat in his normal seat, but, something about his normal demenor was different. He normally slouched in his seat and looked terrified of random things. He was a quiet boy that kept to himself, but, today, he was actually speaking with Mazaki Anzu, and old friend of his. Seto overheard the word 'yami' and 'puzzle' without a care. But, when he caught sight of the Sennen Puzzle around Yuugi's neck, his head shot up and he had to fight to keep his mouth shut. Something in him was awoken. An ancient spirit, or something.

**Pharaoh...** The spirit mumbled.

~~^*With Yami*^~~

"Class, we have a new student today." The teacher told his class. Yami stepped into the room and walked to the center of the front. "This is Mutou Yami, Yuugi's cousin from Egypt. I believe, Yami, that you got into a fight this morning. That's not allowed."

/Just agree with him, Yami!!/ Yuugi pleaded.

Yami bowed to the teacher respectfully. "Of course, Sensei." He mumbled.

"Good, good. Why don't you go sit next to your cousin?" The teacher mumbled, moving back to his desk, to get some papers.

Yami nodded and walked over to Yuugi, sitting quietly. He happened to glance over at the other side of the room and got a shock. ~Seto!~ His breath caught in his throat and he met the other's eyes, searching for some sign of his best friend in the boy's eyes, and found just the slightest sign that the boy recognized him. He knew Seto hadn't been sealed into an Item.

The boy narrowed his eyes coldly and looked away. Yami frowned. ~Not a good sign...~ He thought to himself sadly.

/Yami, what is it?/ Yuugi asked, watching his yami with worry.

Yami looked back over at Yuugi, smiling slightly. //Nothing much, aibou. It's just, who is that boy in the corner?//

/Kaiba Seto, CEO of Kaiba Corp. He's cold and heartless. Just ignore him./ Yuugi suggested.

//I wish I could, aibou, but, he reminds me of my best friend back in Egypt. I can't help wondering if my friend's soul is also in that boy's body...// Yami sighed.

Yuugi shrugged. /So, we can talk to him during break. Or, you could talk to him alone while I talk to Anzu some more./ He glanced over at Yami sadly.

//We'll see. I'll probably want to speak with Kaiba Seto alone, first.// Yami explained calmly.

/Okay.../ Yuugi looked away and back up at the board, where their teacher was teaching. If Yami had seen the boy's face, he would have regreted his want to speak with Seto alone. Yuugi was hurt deeply by his yami's want for privacy.

-

~~^*Break, With Yami*^~~

/It's break./ Yuugi thought dryly before hurrying to speak with Anzu.

Yami frowned at Yuugi's back. //Yuugi, what's wrong?// He asked.

/Nothing!/ Yuugi shouted back before closing his mind to the spirit.

Yami sighed sadly. ~Nothing... I take that as seriously as any promise Seth ever made me!~

"Mutou Yami." Seto said dryly from behind the other.

Yami turned around quickly. "Kaiba Seto. A minor surprise." Yami returned in the same dry voice that Seto had used.

Seto narrowed his eyes. "Don't mimic me!" He hissed angrily.

Yami crossed his hands over his chest. "You had a reason for coming over here. Now, what do you want?"

"Who are you?" Seto threw at the other. "How is it I feel like I know you?"

Yami grinned. "I was right then, you are the reincarnation of High Priest Seto. How interesting that you both share the same first name. Your personalities, though, are quite different."

Seto made an ugly face and moved so he was in Yami's face. "You are making no sense, Mutou. Either start making some, or I'm leaving."

Yami shrugged. "So? Leave. I know what I need to know, except why you're so cold around others." He put a finger on Seto's chest. "The man you are the reincarnation of was my best friend in what your people call Ancient Egypt, and he was a kind man, the exact opposite of you. What has happened that has made you so cold, Kaiba Seto? No one is born cold-hearted."

"What would you know?!" Seto shouted suddenly. He was seething. "You know nothing, Egyptian!" He turned and stormed from the room, everyone watching him go, then turning to stare at Yami.

Yuugi ran over. "Yami, what happened?!" He asked as quietly as he could.

Yami rubbed his forehead. "I'm not quiet certain, Yuugi. I just have a very bad feeling that something is bothering him."

"Is he the reincarnation of your friend, Yami?" Yuugi asked as the classroom got back to normal.

Yami sighed. "Kaiba Seto is the reincarnation of High Priest Seto, yes." He looked down at the boy. "And, Yuugi, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I told you." Yuugi mumbled.

"Yuugi, I may not have been in this time for very long, but I'm not a fool. What is it? You can tell me." Yami whispered, placing a hand on Yuugi's shoulder.

Yuugi hid his face against Yami's chest. /You're keeping things from me! I feel all left out./ Yuugi explained.

Yami hugged the boy sadly. //Oh, Yuugi... I'm so sorry. I keep things from you because it's the way I am. I promise I'll tell you everything soon. Okay?//

/Promise?/ Yuugi pleaded, still hiding his face in his yami's chest.

//Promise, and I've never broken a promise. I'll have to tell you soon.// Yami decided.

/Why?/ Yuugi glanced up, his face tear-stained.

Yami wiped the tears away with a small smile. //Not now. It's too complicated.//

Yuugi sighed. /You're just complicated, Yami. That's all there is to it./

-

~~^*With Seto*^~~

Seto sat in his office at Kaiba Corp with his head in his hands. He'd run from the school and to his office, then taken the stairs to the tenth floor, where his office was located, and fled into his office, shouting to his secretary that he wasn't to be bothered. **What are you afraid of, Kaiba Seto? Are you afraid to have Yami help you so much that you would lock yourself in your office?** A voice asked from in front of Seto's desk.

"Who's there?" Seto whispered, glancing up. He came face to face with High Priest Seto{We'll call him Sethe for now} and gasped, pushing his chair away from his desk and standing quickly. "Who are you?" He asked, his voice catching in his throat.

Sethe blinked at the boy. **Yes, he did a good job with his spell. The only differences between us are our personalities. Well, that and our clothing...** He smiled at his Egyptian clothing. He wore the robes of a High Priest, as he used to in Egypt. Kaiba{As we'll now call him} wore a deep green shirt, black jeans, and a blue trench coat. He had a small locket, in the likeness of a Magic and Wizards card, around his neck.

"Who are you?" Kaiba asked again, this time without any problem.

**I am High Priest Seto. We share a soul, is seems. He would have made it that way...**

"He? You mean Yami?" Kaiba sat back down in his chair.

Sethe sat on the edge of Kaiba's desk, not disturbing anything on it. **He was Pharaoh back in Egypt. We called him Yii when it was just us, though. If Yami is what he calls himself here, then that is what we should call him.**

"Pharaoh?" Kaiba frowned. "Why wouldn't he just go by Yii? Yami is Japanese for 'darkness', and he claims to be from Egypt."

**When he locked Malik, Bakura, and himself into Sennen Items, and made me a reincarnation for you, Malik said that if they ever met again, he'd kill Yii. Using his old name would put him in danger.**

"Yuugi too..." Kaiba mumbled.

**Yes, Yuugi would be in danger too. Anyone Yii associates with will be in danger of any enemies he's made. I wonder where Bakura and Malik are, actually.** Sethe smiled at Kaiba. **Why are you so cold, Seto? Just because I share your soul, doesn't mean I've been awake your whole life.**

"It's nothing, Seto..." Kaiba frowned. "This is going to get very confusing, very fast."

Sethe chuckled quietly. **You call me Sethe, I'll call you Kaiba. We can tell others that you feel the need to tell that I exist to do the same.**

"I'll have to tell Mokuba..." Kaiba mumbled.

**Mokuba?**

"My little brother." Kaiba popped open the locket at his throat and showed Sethe a picture of his brother. "This was him about seven years ago. He has the other half of this picture in a matching locket around his neck." He closed the locket. "And you'll probably insist on telling Yami..." He thought aloud.

Sethe nodded. **Yes. He already knows, anyway. We should also tell little Yuugi, since he is like you. He shares his soul with another.**

"He shares his soul with Yami?" Kaiba asked, surprised.

**The Sennen Puzzle Yuugi was wearing around his neck connects them. Yii's soul is bound to that, since that is where he trapped his soul all those years ago. Their bond is not the same as ours, but it does exist.** Sethe explained.

"Wait, you're talking in my mind, aren't you?" Kaiba suddenly realized.

**Yes.** Sethe smiled at Kaiba.

"Could I speak in your mind?" Kaiba asked. "It would keep people from thinking I'm crazy..."

**Probably. Try it.** Sethe suggested.

*Like this?* Kaiba asked is Sethe's mind.

**Exactly.** Sethe replied. **Now that we've got more privacy, why are you so cold? You never told me. When you spoke of Mokuba, you changed. It's like you are only cold around some people. Why is this?**

*I run a company.* Kaiba grumbled.

**So? Yii was Pharaoh, yet he was rarely cold, to anyone. He was a kind man, for a Pharaoh.** Sethe returned.

Kaiba sighed. *My parents died many years ago. Mokuba and I were placed in an orphanage. When we were adopted, the man who adopted us only adopted me for my intelligence. He was not kind to me.* He looked away. *I don't like talking about him. He's dead now.*

**How did he die?** Sethe asked, curious.

*I pushed him out the window behind me.* Kaiba replied, his mind voice cold, like his face.

Sethe pursed his lips. **I guess he deserved that, but I am not saying you should have pushed him out the window.**

"Kaiba-sama?" Kaiba's secretary knocked on his door. "I know you told me to leave you alone, but you have a couple guests downstairs that wish to see you."

"I'm busy." Kaiba returned sharply. "Tell them to go away."

"Sir, we've tried. They refuse to go." The secretary explained.

**It's Yii and Yuugi.** Sethe realized.

*How can you tell?* Kaiba asked.

**I'd know Yii's aura anywhere.** Sethe said by way of explaination.

Kaiba stood. *Stay in here, and out of sight. I'll bring them up.* Sethe nodded and disappeared behind Kaiba's desk. Kaiba opened the door. "Downstairs, you said?" He asked his secretary, closing his door behind him.

"Yes, sir." The secretary mumbled.

"I'll go down and get them. Call ahead." Kaiba ordered, then walked to the elevator. His secretary ran to her desk as the elevator doors closed and the elevator started down.

"He's coming down to collect them." The secretary told the men downstairs.

"Good. These two are spooky." The man on the intercom replied. "He's here."

-

Kaiba stepped out of his elevator and chuckled at the sight of the ten men surrounding Yami and Yuugi. Yuugi looked terrified. Yami looked bored. "Go back to your positions." Kaiba ordered the men.

They looked at him in surprise as Yami and Yuugi glanced up. Yuugi looked relieved, Yami still bored. "Kaiba-sama, are you sure? I don't trust these two." The head of Kaiba's guards complained.

Kaiba rolled his eyes. "I gave you an order. I'm sure I can handle myself." He looked at the two. "Yuugi, Yami, follow me, please."

The two hurried after Kaiba onto the elevator. Yami jumped when the elevator started, giving both Yuugi and Kaiba a quick smile or laugh. "More science?" Yami asked quietly.

"Yes, Yami." Yuugi smiled at Kaiba. "You should have seen him when he first saw a car."

Kaiba nodded. "That would have been entertaining." He looked at Yami. "Sethe is waiting in my office. I was going to have my men chase you out, but he told me it was you two."

"How did he know?" Yami asked, surprised.

"Something about your aura." Kaiba shrugged. The elevator stopped and the three got off. Kaiba nodded to his secretary. "We're not to be bothered, is that clear?"

"Yes, sir."

"If Mokuba comes, tell him to wait out here." Kaiba added, ushering the other two into his office.

"Of course, sir."

Kaiba closed his door behind him. Sethe popped up from behind Kaiba's desk. "Yii! It's great to see you again!" He said, hopping over Kaiba's desk to give his friend a hug.

"And you, Sethe." Yami smiled. "You do look well, for five thousand years."

Yuugi and Kaiba's mouths dropped open. Sethe blinked a few times. "Has it really been that long?!" Sethe asked, surprised.

"Yes. I did the figuring yesterday, when Yuugi freed me."

"You've been in the Puzzle for five thousand years, Yami?" Yuugi asked, getting over his shock.

Yami nodded. "Yes."

"He looks pretty good for five thousand, doesn't he?" Sethe chuckled.

Yami sighed. "Sethe..." He complained. "I'm older than that!"

"Fine. Five thousand thirty six." Sethe amended.

"Thirty seven. I'm not that young!" Yami returned.

"One digit off. Give me a break." Sethe rolled his eyes, then turned serious. "Have you found Bakura or Malik yet?"

"Am I dead?"

"I'll take that to mean that you haven't found Malik." Sethe returned dryly.

"Exactly. Bakura's still an unknown, as well." Yami sighed.

"Bakura?" Yuugi made a face. "Does your friend have white hair?"

Both Egyptians looked at Yuugi in surprise. "Yuugi, do you know something?" Yami asked.

Yuugi smiled suddenly. "Not telling." He returned.

Yami let out a groan. "Yuugi! This is important!"

"You promised!" Yuugi whined.

"Wait!" Kaiba held up his hands, stalling the arguement. "What's up with you two? I noticed that there's something going on in school, but I wasn't sure what. Care to explain?"

"Yami won't tell me about his past!" Yuugi complained.

"Yii!" Sethe groaned. "I knew you were stubborn, but I didn't think you were that stubborn!"

Yami groaned. "You always say that. I'm only protecting you, Yuugi." Yami tried explaining.

Sethe smacked his friend on the back of his head. "You'll protect him better if you tell him what's up, Yii. Stop trying to be the hero. You're not Pharaoh anymore."

"You said you were a spy for the Pharaoh!" Yuugi cried. "And then you said that the Pharaoh died!"

Sethe started laughing. "Oh, he told you that part, did he?!" He sighed. "He was telling the truth. Back in our time, there were two palace spies, Malik and Yii. Yii was really the Pharaoh, but he liked roaming the town as a commoner. On the night the palace went up in flames and all the nobles in the city were killed, Yii and I were at a local pub. I'd gotten drunk. Malik ran in and told Yii and Pakhet, the owner of the pub, what had happened. Yii went to collect my nephew, Baba. We were the only surviving nobles in the city, and the people that had killed all the others thought that everyone in the palace had been killed, including the Pharaoh." Sethe explained.

Yuugi blinked a few times. "So, you were the Pharaoh in your story? You were the one who almost got killed?" He asked Yami.

"I thought he wouldn't tell you about his past." Sethe pointed out.

"I told him the story of us regaining the palace, but I left the names out." Yami told his friend, then looked at Yuugi sadly. "I did die, I told you that."

"Now I'm lost!" Kaiba called from where he still stood by the door.

"When we stormed the palace to regain my throne, Khay, one of the imposter ruler's men, shot an arrow in my back. I sent my, Bakura's, and Malik's souls into three of the Items. Sethe's soul I sent ahead, to this time frame, with a simple spell." Yami explained. "Malik promised to kill me when we met again. Yuugi, this means that you're in danger." Yami sent his hikari a sharp look. "I didn't want you getting paranoid."

"Oniisama!" Someone shouted from the waiting room. "I'm here!" They heard the secretary shushing the boy, then he started complaining. "What's so important? Oniisama! Oniisama, come out!"

Kaiba groaned. "Sorry. That's my ototo, my little brother, Mokuba. I'll be right back." He slipped from the room. "Mokuba, stop shouting." He told his brother, closing his office door behind him.

"Oniisama!" Mokuba ran over and jumped into Kaiba's arms. "You came out!"

"I'm sorry, sir. I tried to get him to sit down and do his homework, but he insisted on seeing you." Kaiba's secretary sighed.

"Mokuba, I'm doing something important..." Kaiba started.

Yuugi looked out. "Oh, let him in, Kaiba. Sethe said you oughta."

Kaiba sent Yuugi a dirty look. "Oh, did he now?"

**Yes, I did. Might as well tell him now. I'd like to meet Mokuba, too.** Sethe returned.

"Argh... Fine!" Seto groaned, then followed Yuugi back into his office. "Egyptians."

"Stick with High Priests, it's better." Sethe suggested. "Hello, Mokuba. Kaiba's told me quite a bit about you."

"Not true." Kaiba returned.

"Well, not directly." Sethe grinned.

Mokuba stared at Sethe. "Why do you look like oniisama so much?"

"Kaiba is Sethe's reincarnation. It just so happens that both occupy the same soul." Yami said from his newest position on Kaiba's desk. "They also share the same name, so we're calling your brother Kaiba and Sethe Sethe."

"Shut up, Yii." Sethe said darkly, glaring at his friend.

"Yami." Yami returned. "Stop calling me Yii."

"I'll continue calling you Yii for as long as I want." Sethe returned.

"Do I have to lock you away?" Yami growled.

"Can you?" Sethe narrowed his eyes. "How do you plan on holding Malik off without your old powers?"

"When will you learn?!" Yami rolled his eyes. "It doesn't matter if I have my crown of not, Sethe. My powers are in me, not that piece of gold."

"Now he needs the Puzzle, instead. From one hunk of gold to another, eh, Yii?" Sethe asked.

"Stop trying to piss me off, Seto. I can still banish you to the Shadow Realm." Yami threatened.

"Oh, I'm scared! Did you try doing that with all those scary bullies?" Sethe asked cruely.

"No, I was about to with Asa, though." Yami suddenly grinned. "In fact, you and Asa would get along perfectly. You both like getting drunk!"

"Oh, shut up, Yii!" Sethe shouted.

"You were so drunk you couldn't do a thing..." Yami continued.

"You were the one who dragged me out there!" Sethe returned.

"As I remember, you were the one who begged to come with." Yami pointed out.

"You started it!" Sethe returned.

"Pakhet asked." Yami shrugged. "And Malik promised to do something for me."

"Yeah, you'd do anything for Pakhet. After all, you were the one who almost got her killed..."

"That's not true!" Yami stood from the desk. "And you know it!"

Sethe turned to Yuugi, Kaiba, and Mokuba. "He won't get drunk because he almost got Pakhet killed one time..."

"Shut up!" Yami shouted suddenly. Sethe shut up as the third eye on Yami's forehead lit up. Yami walked over to his High Priest and grabbed the neck of his robes. "You are starting to get out of control, High Priest, and I don't like it. Enough." Yami hissed.

Sethe nodded, terrified. "Alright, Malik doesn't stand a chance. Can you let me go now?"

Yami let him go, the third eye disappearing. "You got me mad on purpose." He accused.

"Yami, please, I had to make sure. You understand, right?" Sethe asked.

Yami sighed and turned away. "I understand, Sethe." He looked at Yuugi. "I'll be in the Puzzle." He whispered sadly, then disappeared.

"What was that all about?" Kaiba asked, walking over to his chair with his brother.

"When Yami's father died back at home, Yami got so drunk our friend, Pakhet, had to bring him back to the palace. Since Yami was the new Pharaoh, Pakhet was in danger of getting killed if the two were seen together. I met them before they got inside the palace walls and got Yami inside without anyone the wiser. Yami doesn't get drunk anymore, he won't touch alcohol, and he has a low tolerance level for people who get that drunk."

"Oh... No matter he got so mad at otosan..." Yuugi mumbled.

"What do you mean, Yuugi?" Kaiba asked.

"Otosan gets drunk a lot. When he got home yesterday, he and Yami got into a fight. Yami kinda won when otosan got sober all of a sudden." Yuugi explained.

"Yami doesn't confront anyone unless he has a reason, Yuugi. Why did he really confront your father?" Sethe asked quietly.

Yuugi shook his head. "Yuugi, look, we're your friends. You can tell us anything." Kaiba mumbled. He noticed something shine on Yuugi's cheek. "Yuugi, what's wrong?" He asked, concerned. Mokuba and Sethe were watching Yuugi too.

"I've never had any real friends before Yami came..." Yuugi sniffled. "And between the bullies at school and otosan at home, I didn't want anyone to get too close to me, because I was afraid they'd get hurt... Now, I have lots of friends, and it's all because of Yami..." Yuugi started sobbing.

"Oh..." Sethe walked over and hugged Yuugi, his robes falling around them gracefully. "No wonder Yami stepped in on both accounts..." Yuugi sobbed into Sethe's shoulder gratefully.

"I didn't know you didn't have any friends. The way Mazaki is always hanging off of you, you'd think you had a fan club." Kaiba grumbled.

"Anzu's been my friend since kindergarden, true, but she's annoying sometimes, and she couldn't do anything to help me." Yuugi mumbled. "I didn't want her to get hurt."

"You know what, Yuugi?" Sethe ruffled the boy's hair. "You're a good kid. If Yami's ever unavailable and you need to talk to someone, you can come to me or Kaiba." Sethe looked up at Kaiba.

Kaiba nodded. "For sure. Friends stick together, don't they ototo-chan?" He started tickling his brother.

Mokuba giggled helplessly while Yuugi and Sethe watched on. "Hey, Yuugi, what was it that you knew about Bakura, anyway?" Sethe asked suddenly.

"Bakura Ryou is one of the boys in my class. He's kinda new and really shy. He wasn't there today. In fact, he's not there very often anymore. When he does come in, he looks really tired and tends to have a lot of bruises and the such. I don't think Kaiba's ever met him." Yuugi glanced up at Kaiba.

Kaiba shook his head. "I rarely come to school anymore, because of work. We have a bunch of new devices that are being tested, and I tend to need to be here a lot. I'm tempted to just drop school all together, but I like going, when I can. It gives me a break from this place."

"Kaiba-sama!" A male voice shouted from outside Kaiba's office.

"You can't go in there, sir." Kaiba's secretary cried.

"Let me pass, woman." The man hissed.

Kaiba stood, placing Mokuba on the floor. He glanced at Sethe. *Keep an eye on Yuugi and Mokuba while I handle this.* He ordered, then walked over to slip from the room. "May I help you, sir?" Kaiba asked as he closed the door behind him.

The man looked up. "Kaiba-sama, there's a problem with the new dueling stadium..." The man started.

"What?! Another one! Kereo, this is starting to annoy me! Get it fixed, damnit!" Kaiba growled.

The door cracked open behind Kaiba. "Oniisama, what is it?" Mokuba asked. Yuugi stood behind him.

**I tried...** Sethe sighed.

"I told Sethe to keep and eye on you two. Why aren't you behaving?" Kaiba growled.

"Because we wanted to know why you were shouting." Yuugi pointed out.

"Argh..." Kaiba turned to glare at Kereo, the man who'd bothered him. "Do you need me right now, or can you idiots fix it alone?"

"We've tried..." The man mumbled, ashamed.

"I can see how well you've tried!" Kaiba exploded, then groaned. "I'll deal with it tomorrow. I'm tired." He turned back to Yuugi and Mokuba. "What do you guys say about getting out of here?" He asked them softly.

"Yeah!" Mokuba cheered.

"I'm all for it!" Yuugi smiled. Yami nodded from behind his hikari.

Kaiba looked at his secretary. "Call down and have my limo waiting." He ordered, then walked back into his office, ignoring the gaping Kereo. The secretary shrugged, then went to do as she'd been told.

"Yuugi, do you know where Ryou lives?" Yami asked once Kaiba had closed the door.

"Uhm, yeah. I went over to his house once. It's fairly nice, but I'll need to call home and tell otosan I'll be late." Yuugi mumbled.

Kaiba nodded. "There's a phone in the limo. Do you remember the address?" Yuugi rattled off a random address. "Good." Kaiba looked up at Sethe. "Can you do a disappearing trick?"

Sethe disappeared. **Of course.**

*Thank you. It's really not nice confusing my secretary. She already has to put up with my bad moods.* Kaiba smiled to himself as he grabbed his briefcase. *And we need to do something about your outfit.*

**I knew you were going to bring that up. I'll come up with something more modern for you the next time I come out.**

*That would be nice.* Kaiba led the group from his office and locked his door behind him.

"But, Kaiba-sama..." Kereo tried again.

Kaiba looked at the man sharply, silencing him. "One more word and you're unemployed." He threatened. "When I say tomorrow, I mean tomorrow." He led his group on to the elevator and then out the front door. One of his men held the limo door open. Kaiba ushered the other three in, gave the address of Ryou's house, then got in himself. The limo started as soon as they were all buckled.

"You are ruthless when it comes to your work." Yami commented.

Kaiba rolled his eyes. "The reasoning behind that being that I want to get things done right." He pulled out his car phone and handed it to Yuugi. "Here."

"Thank you." Yuugi dialed his home number. "Kon'nichi wa, otosan. I'm with a friend of mine and I might be home late." Yuugi paused. "Kaiba Seto." Those in the limo could hear Asa's cry of surprise. "Uhm, hold on." He looked up at Kaiba, a hand over the mouthpiece. "Otosan wants to know if he can meet you." He mumbled.

Kaiba shrugged. "Sure."

Yuugi relayed Kaiba's answer. "Okay, I'll try and be home as soon as I can." He paused again, then looked at Yami. "He wants to talk to you."

Yami took the phone. "Yes, Asa?" He listen for a few seconds. "Yes, I promise." He paused. "Uhm, yes. I dealt with that today." He paused again. "Yes. Okay. Good-bye." He hung up, then glanced at Yuugi as he handed the phone back to Kaiba. "He wanted to make sure you didn't get beat up today and that I wasn't going to let you get hurt." He explained.

"Oh..." Yuugi looked out the window.

Kaiba sighed. "I guess your father's changed too, huh?" Yuugi just nodded, so Kaiba looked at Yami. "So, Asa knows about you?"

"Yes. I told him everything yesterday. He tends to be a little more straight-forward about some things than Yuugi." Yami ruffled Yuugi's hair lightly.

"Yeah, yeah..." Yuugi made a face out the window.

~~A/N: So, what do you think? Was this chapter any good? Am I moving too fast, too slow, just right? When Yami and Sethe were fighting, did you think they were actually angry, or that Sethe was doing it on purpose? Sorry if the main Yu-Gi-Ou! characters are out of character, but this isan AU, so they're kinda gonna be that way.

A Note on Kaiba's Adopted Father: The death of Kaiba Gozaburo differs between the manga and the anime. In the anime, Gozaburo died of a heart attack when Seto threatened to push him out the window. In the manga, Seto actually did push him out the window, killing him. Since I haven't seen either of these parts, I'm using what I got from websites. I've always preferred Seto pushing Gozaburo out the window, versus him dying of a heart attack. Sorry if that was in any way confusing...

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Yu-Gi-Ou! I do own my original characters and the original names. This plotline is mine, since I've not read any other like it to this date.

Ja!
