Atemu and Tearrah were married on a beautiful day in Nubia and another reception was held once they got home to Atemu's kingdom. There was food, dancing and games, and a holiday was declared so everyone had a day off. Everything was peaceful and everyone was happy.
But as always, Yamira wasn't and when Yamira isn't happy, she will make sure that someone else will join her in her unhappiness as well. But instead of her usual target, Atemu, she decided to attack someone else and kill two birds with one stone.
Tearrah.
--
As it was customary in Atemu's kingdom, a newly betrothed couple must spend a night apart from each other before they can consummate their marriage. Why so? Well, to simply put it, Egyptians are hopeless romantics and are firm believers in the adage `absence make's the heart grow fonder.'
So that night, Tearrah resided in one of the guest chambers and thought of her beloved as she watched the Egyptian sunset. She missed her parent a bit but that homesickness was being overcome with her rising anxiety of being with Atemu tomorrow night. She had never been with a man before and was unsure as to what would be expected of her. As she pondered this, there came a knock at the door.
“come in.”
Yamira peeked her head in. “are you sure of that?”
“yes, your highness, you may enter.” Tearrah said softly. Yamira had ranking over her by being Atemu's first wife so she had to treat her with utmost respect. But still, she couldn't help but distrust the other woman. After all, she had stole Yamira's husband from under her nose and obviously Atemu loved Tearrah more. Not only that, Tearrah sensed something darker lurking in Yamira's soul…
something sinister…
“well, Tearrah, I was heading from the kitchens when a thought struck me. You will soon have to be with Atemu tomorrow night and assumed that you are nervous. After all, you are a virgin, are you not?”
“that I am,” Tearrah replied cautiously. How did Yamira know that?
“well, I went down to the healer and asked her to fix you up a little potion to take that away. My mother had given it to me as a wedding gift and now I am giving it to you. we women have to look out for each other you know,” Yamira said, a kind smile on her face. She held out a small potion to the younger woman.
Tearrah hesitated but took the bottle anyway. “ thank you, your highness.”
“call me Yamira, dear. You are to take that potion with your noontime meal and drink some water. By the time Atemu is ready, all of that nervousness will be gone.”
“thank you, yo- Yamira. But may I ask a question?”
“ask away.”
“why are you being so kind to me?”
Yamira's face went blank of all emotion before putting back on its kind mask with a hint of sadness.
“Yamira?”
“do you want to know the real reason dear?”
“yes.”
Yamira sat down on the bed and motioned for Tearrah to sit down beside her. Tearrah did so and Yamira began to speak.
“well, if you didn't figure it out by now, Atemu is my twin brother. Our parents made us marry so that the family line will keep going on. Since this is an arranged marriage, Atemu is free to take on another wife that he loves but I, however, being a woman is bound to him and will be stoned if I dare to love another man.,” Yamira paused in her story telling to wipe her tears away with the handkerchief Tearrah had handed her. By now, the other woman was close to her, holding her hand and comforting her.
“since I can't get my own happiness, I choose to help my twin get his happiness for when he is happy, I am too, so great our bond is. And now, I am glad that he has someone he can love and love him back. I am so glad that he has found his someone just for him in you. That is why I help you Tearrah, that is why.”
“oh, Yamira, I had no idea,” Tearrah cried, hugging the petite woman to her. Unseen by her, Yamira grinned evilly behind her back.
“it is okay Tearrah. Just promise me one thing, “ Yamira sniffed, her tearful mask back in place.
“what?”
“make Atemu happy, please.”
“oh, I will Yamira, I will.”
As Yamira left the room, her evil grin slid back into place.
That is good Tearrah, for the more you try to make him happy, the more miserable he will become.
--
Meanwhile, Atemu paced his room. He wanted to be with Tearrah but knew that tradition maintained that he stay away for one night. He was a modern man but there were some traditions he followed. Also, he worried about as to where Yamira had gone off to. She said she was heading to the kitchens but he didn't believe her. He shuddered to think of what horrors she had in store for him now.
While he paced, he thought of Yami and at the same time tried to open their link but as usual, he was locked out. He had been trying to talk to his dark side since they left Nubia but to no avail. Their link was firmly cut off.
Why is it that he is so scared to confess his love to me? I mean, I already partially love him. After all, he was my first…
ENTER FLASHBACK
Yami held Atemu as the boy sobbed into his chest. Yamira had used various objects to abuse and rape the boy and now he was hurt. Not only from the pain from the objects that were forcibly shoved into places where objects are not supposed to be, but from the emotional damage of being abused by his twin, the only person in the world that was supposed to understand him.
why Yami? Why did she do this to me?” he sobbed. The dark man held his partner tighter.
I don't know aibou, but don't let her ruin everything for you. you have me and who knows, you might fall in love with some other gi-“
NO! I don't want any other girl! Girls freak me out and they are mean!”
Atemu, you can't believe that. Not every girl is like Yamira. I mean, look at Mana.”
Atemu squinched up his nose. “ew, I don't want to look at her like that.”
you don't have to. I'm just using her as an example,” Yami laughed. Atemu's innocent amethyst orbs stared up at Yami.
then why does the world need girls for matters other than making babies?”
well, aibou there are some things that girls can do that would seem weird coming from a guy.”
like what?”
well…uh…er…I'll tell you when you are older.”
no! I want to know now. If I can rule Egypt then you can tell me this. If you can't tell me, then show me Yami!”
Atemu suddenly found himself in Yami's soul room on a pile of silver and crimson pillows. He sat up and looked around. He had never been in Yami's soul room before and for some reason it felt familiar. Glancing around he realized that it was just like his bedroom aside e from some subtle changes. Where it was white, gold and purple in his room, it was black, silver and red in Yami's.
aibou..”
Atemu looked up and inches from his face was Yami. The older man wore only his shenti and had an indescribable look on his face.
yam-“ he was cut off by lips against his own. Atemu had never been kissed by someone like this and it felt incredible. He pressed closer to his Darkness, wanting to feel more, to know more about this feeling rushing through his body. All too soon, Yami pulled away.
you want me to show you aibou, hmm?” he said, his voice husky as he ran his fingers through Atemu's blond bangs.
Too overwhelmed to speak, he pulled Yami back into a kiss for his answer. Yami kissed down the young ones, face and neck, removing his shirt and collar. Atemu moaned hotly beneath him, his body tightening from what he didn't recognize as pleasure
Yami removed Atemu's shenti off, leaving his body bare and cool air hitting his hot skin. Atemu hissed loudly as Yami blew on his erection.
`now aibou, this is my wedding gift to you. if Yamira never does this, savor it because this will probably be the only time it will happen to you.”
will… it… hurt?” Atemu panted out. Yami smiled.
no aibou, it won't. I promise.” And with that, Yami took Atemu's erection into his mouth, causing the young monarch to cry out and arch up. His fingers locked in the sheets with a death grip that turned his knuckles white. Yami held down hi hips with one hand as he sucked hard on the pulsating flesh.
“ya…ya…YAMI!!,” he screamed as he came, seed spurting into Yami's mouth which the dark man swallowed. Yami held his aibou close while he calmed down.
now…do you see aibou? If you don't…I'll make a deal with you. if you can't find the woman you love and loves you back, you can come to me and I will take care for you forever, okay?” Yami whispered in his ear.
o…kay….th-thank you…Yami…” and with that, Atemu fell asleep
END FLASHBACK
Atemu sat up and walked out of his room. He was going to find out where Yami came from and there was only one person who knew about such things.
--
“Shimon.”
“yes Pharaoh?” the elderly man answered. As Atemu guessed, his advisor was in the library, going over the law books.
“Shimon, you have been the advisor of my father so I would assume that you know that which had happened when he ruled, right?”
“yes, sire.”
“then am I right to assume that you know how I got my darker side, Yami.” Atemu concluded, watching the old man's face for any expression. He was not disappointed. Shimon paled before turning serious.
“would this, darker side of yours, milord look a lot like you and has crimson eyes?”
“why, yes, he does. What do you know of him?”
“I am afraid that my worse fears are confirmed. That Yami was a Dark Angel, a powerful demon that had attacked this kingdom a few nights before you and Lady Yamira was born. He was powerful but your father managed to defeat him. He locked the demon into a sword but rumor has it that he made a bargain with the fiend. In exchange of a limited freedom, he was to become your guardian and protect you. I had begged your father to not make such a foolish mistake but my pleas fell on deaf ears apparently.”
“but Shimon, the Yami I know is kind though a bit perverted but harmless nonetheless. He would kill himself before hurting me.” Atemu said. Was this why Yami ran from him?
“so it seems he kept up his end of the bargain then. It's just as well. But I caution you lord Atemu, demons are tricky creatures and master deceivers. They can change their minds at the blink of an eye. In fact have something for you if decides to. Follow me.”
Atemu followed Shimon to what he realized were Shimon's private study.. it as filled with many law scrolls and in the center was a handsome mahogany desk engraved with the names of the gods. A couple of feet away from the desk was a sword covered by it's sheathe in a golden stand. Its hilt was silver decorated with onyx and crimson rubies.
Shimon walked up to the display and unsheathed the sword, revealing its jet black blade. He held it horizontally, a handkerchief in his hand that held the blade so he wouldn't touch it.
“this, lord Atemu, is the sword your father sealed Yami in. all of his powers are contained in here. If he were to ever get out of line, use this to check him.” He said as he handed Atemu the sword and the sheathe.
“thank you Shimon, but I do not believe that this will be necessary. As I said before, Yami would do nothing to harm me and aside from a couple of pranks, he's harmless.” Atemu said as he resheathed the sword.
“as you say, Lord Atemu…as you say…”
--
the week went on with no sign of Yami but Atemu didn't have the chance to worry about that. Tearrah had to be taken to the infirmary due to mysterious symnptoms. It was soon discovered that she could not have children due to the unusual way her womb had closed up.
Atemu tried to comfort her telling her thaat he still loved her but she could not be comforted and she pushed him away, her own self mourning shutting her off from him.
Also that week, a girl with pale skin and silver hair was discovered at the outskirts of the kingdom…
