Yugi eyed his reflection carefully in the full length mirror of Seto and Jou's room. It was the day of the school Christmas dance and he was terrified. He studied the outfit chosen for him and sighed. //I wish I didn't have to do this// he thought.

There was a knock at the door and Akira stepped in. She smiled down at the young magician.

"I just wanted to let you know that Yami is taking Anzu to the dance," the blue haired girl said, wrinkling her nose slightly.

"Anzu...? But why her..?" I thought-I thought he didn't like her."

Akira sighed and shrugged her shoulders, "sometimes I cannot even predict him and I'm a Water Mage!"

"-And Water Mages have psychic abilities."

"Exactly...Yami is so hard to understand. He really has had a pretty messed up childhood." Yugi raised an eyebrow at the last statement.

"Yami, like you, had a bad childhood. Though it wasn't filled with death or loss, it was filled with pain."

"What do you mean?"

"Well when he was a child he was treated very well. He and his parents were very rich and lived in a huge mansion; I should know I lived next door. Well when Yami's mother died, his father started drinking and became very abusive towards him. On Yami's thirteenth birthday his father-his father he..."

"What did his father do?"

"...His father raped him. I had come over to give him a birthday present when I found him and his father. I called the police and they took Mr. Mutou away to jail but he somehow made bail. Ever since he got out he would beat and continuously rape Yami. That is why Yami stays here at Khemet during school breaks. He's terrified to even go to his own neighborhood. I live here as well since I can't leave him alone. Numerous amounts of times has he tried to commit suicide."

"But how did his obsession with sex start?"

"When his father got back home and he would always use him for pleasure, Yami wanted to get the feeling of his father out of him. It started with just me, since I was his best friend he asked me to help him. Of course I did and we, well you know, did it about three times. After that though, Yami couldn't get enough of the pleasure and when we returned to school he started bedding everyone in sight. I tried to help but it would only turn out horrible."

Yugi looked down sadly. //Poor Yami.//

"Yugi you mustn't tell anyone because Yami only confided me in it not anyone else. Please keep it a secret. Onegai?"

"I promise," Yugi answered.

Akira smiled and hugged him tightly, "arigato, Yugi. Well now that you know the story, I must tell you... tomorrow night you got to blow everyone away."

Yugi giggled, "I hardly think I will. I'm not much to look at."

Akira rolled her eyes and pulled Yugi onto her lap, "you're a beautiful person Yugi and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Plus, you have an innocent gorgeous soul and that makes all the more difference."

Yugi smiled and rested his head on her shoulder, "It's just all so difficult. Life is too difficult."

"I'm afraid not everyone has unlimited luck, small one. But you must learn to except the bad times and cherish the good times. After all, without the bad times I life we wouldn't appreciate the good times in life (Shadow: quote taken from a sailor moon video x_X)

Yugi smiled and looked up as Seto and Jou entered the room. Seto went over to the bureau and pulled out his and Jou's outfits for that evening.

"Come on Yueg you should be dressed by now! You have to meet Billie in an hour!" the blonde exclaimed.

Yugi sighed, "I know I'm just nervous."

Seto smiled and sat down on the bed, pulling the little magician into his lap. For some reason, he liked the way Yugi felt when in his arms. The little one was so soft and touchable. (Seto; <_< am I falling for Yugi? Shadow: >_> maybe!)

"Don't worry little one, everything will be fine," Seto said, stroking the boy's hair comfortingly.

Yugi smiled up at him and hugged him, "I hope so. I don't want to be alone anymore."

"Yugi as long as you have me...and the others...you will never be alone."

Yugi smiled again and buried his face in the taller boy's chest, "thank you Seto. I am so glad I have a friend like you."

Seto grinned and patted his back, "and we are grateful to have a friend like you." He picked up the Kawaii outfit for Yugi, "come on you should get dressed now."

Yugi yawned as a response and curled up in Seto's lap, shaking his head slightly. Seto had to keep the heat from rising to his cheeks as the little one curled up to him, the ebony and violet strands of hair tickling his chin a little.

//What's wrong with me? Why is Yugi having this effect on me? Not even Jou has this effect on me// the brunette thought.

Jou nudged Yugi in the arm roughly, "c'mon Yueg you need to get ready!" he snapped.

The small boy sat up abruptly due to the chill in the blonde boy's voice. He hopped of Seto's lap and picked up his outfit. Then he quickly rushed off into the bathroom to change.

Yami was lounging in his room all ready for the big Christmas Dance. Although it didn't really seem that big to him. He was a little excited because they would be announcing the finalists for the Tri-Elemental tournament which was starting the day after Christmas.

The Tri-Elemental Tournament was when finalists from Khemet, Rehme, and even Zenoah (as school for rare Elementalists like Lunar Mages and Solar Mages) got together and competed in Elemental Duels as well as obstacle courses in order to win the grand prize: the Hikari Cherub.

The Hikari Cherub was chosen from the most beautiful people at Khemet to become basically `owned' by the victor of the tournament. It wasn't really something to be proud of by the person who was chosen as the Hikari Cherub, but the victor sure was to be pleased. (Shadow: okay I was reading Revolutionary Girl Utena and Harry Potter and the goblet of fire. That is how I came up with Tri-Elemental tournament [Tri-wizard tournament and the Hikari Cherub [Rose Bride])

//I better win this tournament. And that Cherub will be beautiful too...//

Yami sighed, picturing what the Hikari Cherub might look like. He was interrupted by a loud banging on his door.

"Enter" he yelled.

The door opened and Anzu stepped inside wearing her Dance attire which was a long flowing hot red dress with white sashes and an overload of silver jewelry. She even went as far as to wear a small silver tiara with a ruby in the middle to match Yami's eyes. She rushed over to the tri-colored haired boy and squeezed him tightly, placing a light kiss on his lips.

"Oh Yami-kins we're going to have so much fun!" she squealed, latching onto his arm as he stood up.

Yami grimaced but nodded anyways, "I hope Mai wasn't sore about not being my date," he said curtly.

Anzu shrugged, "oh who cares about her!"

"I thought she was your girlfriend?" (Shadow: GROSS! Damn Yuri. [Washes mouth out with soap.] Oh well it'll fit in.)

"Oh she is... she's going with that Mako Tsunami fellow."

"Oh. Well he's very nice I'm sure they'll get along quite well."

Anzu shrugged again and started to lead Yami out the door, "yeah, yeah I'm sure she will! Now come on Yami-kins I wanna get to the dance now!"

"But shouldn't we make a late entrance?"

"NO! We're going NOW!"

Yami sighed and allowed himself to be dragged down to the ballroom where the festivities were.

Yugi stared at his reflection.

//I look ridiculous.//

He was currently standing alone in the center of the hallway waiting for Billie to show up. He was all dressed up in his super sexy make Yami jealous getup, and jewelry which consisted of: gold bangles on both his arm, gold hoop and stud earrings, about four gold rings, and to top it all off a thin gold tiara with a small crimson stone in the middle.

//Hm it matches Yami's eyes// he thought, referring to the ruby in the tiara.

"Yugi..! Hey Yugi!"

The said boy turned around to see Billie running towards him, waving her arms frantically in the air.

Yugi gasped as he took in the outfit of his brunette new friend. She was wearing silver pants the hugged her legs slightly, a black shirt, a silver sash around her neck that was tied in a big bow on the side, and sparkly silver sandals. Yugi also noticed that the outfit accented her silver and gold highlights and brought out her multi-colored eyes.

"You look beautiful Billie," he breathed, meaning it very much.

She laughed, "Thanks Yueg, you do too."

Yugi blushed and linked his arms though hers and together they made their way to the ballroom.

In the ball room, Yami and Anzu were sitting at a table along with Seto, Jou, Mai, and Mako. Yami, to put it bluntly, was absolutely miserable. Seto and Jou were being all mushy together and Anzu had a bunch of guys around her, telling her how lovely she looked and how they wished she could've been their date; Anzu absolutely loved the attention too. Mako and Mai were making small talk as Mai glared at Anzu and her crowd now and later.

"Ah Yami, my main man!" said a voice all too recognizable.

Bakura sat down in an empty seat with a virgin strawberry daiquiri in one of his hands and Ryou on his lap.

"Hey tomb robber."

"Where's the Light Mage isn't he here with you?"

Yami glared at the albino earth mage before turning back to his vanilla coke, "he's going with someone named Billie okay?"

"Billie? Billie Jeana Barry?"

"I dunno all I heard was Billie."

"It was probably Billie Jeana. I've met her through Malik. Really cool girl, sweet too. I think her and Yugi will get along very well," Bakura mused

"Brighten my spirits why don't you?" Yami snapped.

The white haired boy smiled, "hey it ain't my fault the shrimp wasn't interested."

Yami's eye twitched, "don't call him shrimp! His name is Yugi and he was interested I just-I just messed everything up as usual."

"And you ain't doing to well of a job clearing things up by going to this dance with the wicked mage of the weather."

Yami sighed and suddenly the room went very quiet. Yami looked up just as the door opened and two people stepped inside. The Shadow Mage's breath caught in his throat as he saw one of the people was Yugi and that Yugi looked, well, sexy!

Yami took in the attire of his object of affection. The little one was wearing pale blue skin tight leather pants which left hardly anything to the imagination, a semi-see through white shirt which left Yami to roam the torso of his little love, the shirt had sleeves that that ended in long shreds making the shirt look fancier, snow white boots with baby blue straps, and a lot of gold jewelry which seemed almost identical to Anzu's --just in the opposite color.

Yami could practically tell he was drooling at the delectable sight before him. That was when he noticed the brunette girl standing next to him wearing silver and black. She was very pretty and the way the two were laughing and joking together, Yami could tell they had gotten pretty close in the limited amount of time.

Yami actually felt his heart sink.

Yugi noticed all the eyes in the ballroom turn on him and Billie as they entered. Scattered whispers were heard among the crowd of people. Yugi overheard such things as: "Isn't that the Light Mage Yami got rid of before even bedding?" and "boy what would I give to get that thing mine for the night?"

Yugi scooted a little closer to Billie, a little out of protection. She smiled.

"Aw, don't worry Yueg. Just ignore these jackasses. C'mon lets find Yami." Yugi flinched. "Or we could just find Seto or Malik."

Yugi nodded and they walked over to a large table where they could see Seto and Jou from behind and also Ryou and Bakura. Yugi broke out of Billie's small yet strong embrace and raced towards Seto, giving him a big hug.

"Hey Yugi you look wonderful in that!" said the brunette.

Yugi blushed, "thanks Seto," he whispered quietly.

Billie sat down in an empty seat and stared around the table giving Mai a dirty look as she made eye contact with the said blonde. She quickly got up and went to get herself a soda so Yugi and Yami could at least see each other.

Just as she left, Yami came over and sat down in the chair next to the small Light Magician.

"Um, Yugi...hi."

Yugi looked up into the warm red eyes of Yami. He smiled, "h-hey Yami. L-long time no see."

Yami smiled, "yeah I guess so. So, um, you look wonderful tonight!"

The little one blushed and mumbled an, "Arigato," before adding, "You look very nice too." Yugi took in the outfit Yami had on. It consisted of skin tight black leather pants, black boots with red clasps, and a wine red dress shirt with the first three buttons undone allowing his well toned tanned chest to be slightly exposed.

Al the sudden, a group of girls and guys came and huddled around Yugi, knocking Yami out of the way. They were asking him how he got his outfit and how kewl he looked and if he wanted to dance or go out sometime. The little one was very flushed indeed.

"Ugh, look at that little runt! He's stealing all the attention and his outfit isn't even that kewl!" Anzu fumed, glaring daggers at Yugi. She huffed and turned to Yami, "come on Yami-kins let's dance! It's a slow song now!"

Yami groaned and was dragged onto the dance floor. While dancing he noticed Billie come back to the table and then Yugi and her walk out into the gardens.

//Just who does she think she is?//

When the song ended he escaped Anzu and walked out to where he saw the two exit.

//I'll get him back with me.//
