++++Ryou's POV++++

"Finally!" I yawned out. Rubbing my eye and wondering if I should just go to sleep right here at my desk. No, it would be better if I just went home and slept. Cocking my head to the side to crack my neck, I glanced up at the clock. 3:45 a.m..

"Kuso!" I shouted. Damn it, that means I have to walk home. Damn it all to Hell. Why did I stay so late? Oh well, to make it worse I just missed the bus. I think I am going to finally agree with Tristan on this. I need a car. I got up and stretched out my arms. Reaching out for my coat and briefcase, I headed out the door.

Thank whatever God is up there, that it is not raining. About halfway there, I can always tell because the new club, Tonic, is about the halfway mark between my house, or rather, my apartment, and my office. Just as I passed the entrance of the club, I hear a high pitched scream coming from down the alley to my right. Against my better judgment, I ran down the alleyway, as I turned the corner, I saw a young girl was being held in a man's arms. She was limp, and didn't move as the man sucked on her neck. I couldn't see anything really well, so I moved over a little and accidentally kicked a pop can. The white hair boy shot his head up and stared right through me. His face was covered with blood, and dripped down his chin. His teeth were exposed and glistened as the moonlight hit them. The first thing that came across my mind was that I had found the murderer of the recent deaths. The second thing that registered in my mind was run. My legs turned to jelly and I just stared at the vampire. The only time my body and my mind seem to get things right is when he dropped the girl and stood up. Then I just ran all the way to my apartment.

++++Bakura's POV++++

Damn this girl can scream loud. Hope I didn't catch anyone's attention. Sinking my teeth into the exposed skin, she finally got to weak to scream. I hastily started sucking at the holes in her neck until I heard I pop can bangs up against the cement. Thinking it was a cat, but to make sure it wasn't a hunter, I quickly looked up. There I found a scared boy. He just stood there with a look of pure shock on his face. I quickly study his features and determined he was at least 23 years old. He had beautiful snowy hair, and creamy skin. His beautiful big brown eyes told me that he was still trying to register everything he just saw.

I set the dead girl down and a flash of reality came back to him, as he bolted out of the alleyway. I started chasing after him, because I don't need anyone to know about this. Suddenly a bad feeling came from the pit of my stomach as I stopped on the roof of a building. I quickly turned around to the East and saw the first rays of sunlight.

"Kuso!" I shouted and ran as fast as I could to an apartment building. I opened to the door to the complex only to be met by to piercing azure eyes and a comment from my fellow roommate vampire.

"That was close," He said raising an eyebrow in the way that asks 'What in the nine hells took you so long that you almost got fried?' sorta way.

"I was hungry," I merely said taking off my coat and throwing it across the chair. I plopped down on the couch and Seto came and sat across from me and started flipping through the channels. Finally he found something to watch. It was a TV special called UnderWorld. As soon as it was over, I felt him lightly tap me on the shoulder and said, "It is 5:20. You should really go to bed."

"Damn it Seto, I didn't know you cared." I smirked.

"Well I guess you have the right to know, but the hunters are having a meeting here in the city, about finding us. There is about 30 of them searching for us, and I think you should get your rest because if you get sighted by one of them, you know there are more where that came from." I stared at him with wide eyes and nodded.

"Well I am going to take a shower and go to bed," I stood up and followed him down the hallway and stopped in front of them bathroom, "Thanks for the warning."

"I don't want you to end up like Banpaia," and with that he went into his room and I heard the soft click of his lock. Well I don't have cops knocking at my door yet. As I started the shower and proceeded to strip down, I thought of what happened to Banpaia.

****flashback****

"Seto? Where is Banpaia? The sun will rise in about an hour." I started to worry and I could tell he was getting kinda anxious too.

"Let's go. If he is running this late, something is up," I grabbed my coat and followed Seto out the building and it a dark alleyway, where he proceeded to lead us down alleyways and soon I got confused and all the turns.

"Seto. Have you found him?" I asked impatiently.

"I am picking up his scent. Follow me. We have to hurry so we stay out of the way of the sun." and he started running to the middle of the city and there he stopped and a look of horror and disgust crossed his face. I looked up to the waterfall and saw Benpaia was chained up with silver chains and silver bolts in his feet and hands, and in his blood the message, All vampires be warned, was written across a part of the fountain. There were a few onlookers, but most people tried to avoid it was much as possible.

"Oh my god," I said, finally finding my voice. Seto's eyes now had the look of angry and hatred in them. This was the second person they killed that was close the him. First it was his little brother, Mokuba. Seto was not a natural born vampire. He was a kid when he witnessed his parents being brutally murdered in their living room. He offered the vampire to corrupt him and take him in exchange for his brothers safety. The vampire took up the offer and allowed both boys to stay with him. The hunters, or the Holy Order as they call themselves, found out and murdered his brother. And now they got Benpaia, who was the closest friend to Seto.

Seto made a vow right then in front of the dead body of Benpaia, and me, that he would not let anyone get close to him, and that since I am the only one he has left, that he will not let anything happen to me. When we got back home after witnessing Benpaia's body being burned by the sunlight, he decided to teach me a few more things.

"Seto," I tried to talk to him and keep my stomach down. He simply glared at me and said,

"Bakura. You have only been here for about a year now. You and me have similar histories I suppose. My brother being murdered by the hunters, and your sister was too. Now that Benpaia is gone, and I think he knew it would happen soon, I made a promise to him that I would try my best to protect you and to teach you everything I know." I simply nodded and knew neither of us was going to get any sleep tonight, so he was going to teach me some things now. "As you know already, only the sunlight and silver can hurt us," Many people believed cross could also hurt us, but they couldn't, in fact, Seto wears a golden cross around his neck in memory of his little brother.

"Yes I know that." I said.

"I can't teach you much about fighting, but I have a friend who can, and we are going to meet him tomorrow night. It is too dangerous for us to go tonight." And after that he taught me all the potions and charms he knew. The next night, we went over to his friend Gorortsuki house, and we stayed there for well over a month. I got trained on how to fight hand to hand and all the weapons he knew. After two months, we left and I wanted to go see my other little sister again. I had two sisters and I really wasn't allowed to see them. My parents disowned me after they found out I got bite by a vampire and turned into one, but I still love my little sister and see still loves me. She said she didn't care what her parents or the rest of the world thought of me. I would always be her big brother, she said. I snuck into the backyard of their house and crept up to her window and gently tapped up against it.

She immediately came over and opened the window and gave me a big hug.

"Oniisan!" She smiled and whispered, "I have been waiting for you. Why did you wait so long after to come? I haven't seen you since imoutosan died and year ago."

"Shh... Chibi ichi... I know I have been away for a while, and I am sorry, but my friend just died and I need to help another friend fulfill a promise. As I am learning to survive as a vampire. It isn't easy. I am sorry. Will you forgive me?" I smiled at her as I stood outside her window.

She hugged and grinned. "Of course I forgive you Oniisan! I am sorry about your friend. I think I heard something about it on the news. Was it that vampire that was horribly murdered and hung on the fountain?"

"Yes," I sighed, "That's him." She smiled sadly at me. I think she was the only person who ever cared for a vampire, other than another vampire.

"Oniisan?" She asked trying to get my attention again.

"Yes?" I looked up at her. I think she is the most beautiful person I ever saw. Right now when she was wearing her white nigh gown and her soft blond hair flowing freely, if you could put wings on her, she would be an angel. But she is my angel right her in my life.

"Mom and Dad are blaming everything on you. If something goes wrong it is you they blame even if you had nothing to do with it. They keep telling me that you are now good and worthless and that the hunters should get you. They even turned in everything they had left of yours to the hunters! I know one of these days I am going to get really upset with them and then they would hate me," she started crying, "Ever since you left and imoutosan was killed... I.... I just can't take it anymore!!"

"Shh... chibi ichi... Are you saying you want to leave and..." I was cut off. "And come live with you... Could I please?" She asked. I began to think and wonder how we could even make it possible.

"Maybe I can pull a few strings and get you answer by tomorrow. Now I have to leave, the sun is coming up." She smiled and nodded and gave me a kiss on the cheek and a hug. I ran all the back to the apartment and found Seto watching TV, just were I left him.

"Did you get to see her?" He asked without taking his eyes off the screen.

"Yes, but I have a question for you?" I began wondering how I would word this.

"What?"

"My parents are giving her a hard time, and..." again I was cut off.

"And you want her, or she asked, to come live with you? Am I correct?" He finally turned around and stared at me.

"Yea," I muttered, "Could she?"

Seto turned around and started watching TV again. Well, he at least looked at it, but I knew he was thinking about the answer, "How old is she?"

"She is going on 14."

"Isn't that a little young? You know she is still suppose to go to school for another 3 to 5 years."

"But we, I mean, I could teach her." I insisted. He snorted and tried to hold back the laughter.

"You... teach a 14 year old? That is funny. I have a friend who is taking night school, who can get me some books, so I can teach her. She will be home schooled and she will also be taught potions and charms. You will get her in a couple days. Tell her tomorrow, that on, today is a Wednesday?" I nodded, "Okay, tell her on Friday you will pick her up."

"Thank you. But out of curiosity, why Friday?"

"For numerous reasons. One, I don't have to work on Friday." Oh yea, I forgot he works at a night job, "Two, by Friday, you and I will have this place cleaned up and we will be able to get her room ready. Three, that way she has a day to get things packed to come live with us. Four..." This time I cut him off.

"Okay. Okay, I get the point." I said and then yawned and realized how tired I was, "I will start getting everything ready tomorrow, but right now I have to go to bed." He nodded and yawned too.

"I am getting kinda tired," and he followed me down the hallway and went around me as I stop in front of my door.

The next day, I started cleaning up the kitchen and dining room. Seto came out of the bathroom and was ready to leave for work. He grabbed his coat, opened the door and turned around.

"When are you going to go over there and tell her?" He asked as I swept up the kitchen.

"Have to wait till her parents are asleep. About 2 o'clock.. Why?"

"Make sure you don't get caught by anyone, and be back and hour before sunrise."

"Oh I am only going to tell her and then I am coming right back. Too much cleaning to do," I muttered the last part, but Seto still heard it and chuckled. He left and shutting the door behind he, I started working on the Living room.

By the time 2 o'clock rolled around, I had everything cleaned, except her room. I grabbed my coat and raced out the door. Once I got down the hallway, I ran back down it, because I forgot to lock the door.

After about 20 minutes I finally made it to the backyard. I lightly tapped on the window and she came up and opened it.

"Well Oniisan?" She asked as I was trying to steady my breath.

"Friday, at about 2 am. Me and my roommate, Seto, will come pick you up." A huge grin appeared on her face and she hugged me tightly, "But there are some rules." She nodded, "One, you can't go into Seto's room without his permission. Two, Seto will be teaching you the days he doesn't have to work." She interrupted me and asked,

"What will Seto be teaching me?"

"Basic school stuff," I said and noticed the disappointment in her eyes, "And also potions and charms." When she heard that, she was grinning madly.

"Have I ever met Seto?" She asked.

"Nope, I don't think you have. Well I have to go finish cleaning," She gave me a weird look, "That was part of mine and Seto's agreement. I clean up, you come over, he works. Well love ya. Got to go." I kissed her on the forehead and departed.

*****End of Flashback (for now)****

I turned the temperature in the shower to the perfect spot and got in. My clothes were every which way on the floor and my necklace was still around my neck. As I let the shower run down me, I touched the charm that had once been my sister's. It was very similar to Seto's cross except in mine had a opening in the center of it, which is were I keep her picture to remember her always. It was a golden cross on a golden chain. Though Seto would prefer his to be silver, but us being vampires, it wasn't possible. Mine though, I loved it gold. It reminded me of the golden hair angel I missed.

*****Flashback again (right where I left off on the other one)****

I had just finished cleaning up her new room, and I fell down on the couch, too tired to even move to get the remote. The door opened up and Seto walked in, hung up his coat and set his briefcase down by the closet door.

"You have already went and told her?" Seto asked as he sat in his chair and put down a huge stack of books.

"Yea, I told you I would just tell her and go. What the hell are all those?" I said and nodded to the books.

"Your sisters books for home schooling," Seto said and started going through the first one.

By the time I was ready to go to bed, Seto had read through 4 of the 7 giant books.

"Seto?"

"HMO..."

"It's getting late,"

"HMO..." I looked over a noticed he fell asleep in his chair, with his fifth book opened up across his chest. I got up and went to bed. Waiting for tomorrow to come. Waking up, I got in and out of the bathroom and out to the living room, where I found Seto finishing up his seventh and last book.

"Are you ready" I asked.

"It is only 8 o'clock. Calm down, we still have another 5 hours." I growled and mumbled something as I went back into her new room to make sure everything was nice and clean.

"Did you tell her the rules?" Seto shouted from the living room.

"Yes. To not go into your room, and that you are teaching her."

"Good." Was all he said as he went to go get some stuff ready for her arrival. I was really anxious, that all I could really do, other then stand pace around, was to watch TV. I heard Seto walking down the hallway and towards the door.

"Where are you going Seto? We don't have to leave for another... 2 hours,"

"To go out to get some food for her. She isn't a vampire you know,"

"Oh yea," I turned around and continued to watch TV. Before and after Seto got home from shopping. He had 5 large bags full and began to stuff it all in the fridge.

"C'mon Seto!" I said as I waited for him to finish unpacking the food. It was 1:50am and I was very impatient to get there and get her. I know how cruel her parents could be. Finally we made it out the apartment and onto the street to go get her. Finally we made it to the house, but one of the lights was still on, and I could hear some shouting, but couldn't make it out. Then there was a crash and some more yelling and finally after about an hour. All the lights went out. We waited a good 20 minutes before creeping into the backyard and lapping on the window. My little sister came up and opened the window.

"What happened in there?" I asked in concern

"Mom and Dad fighting, same old stuff, except for this time, they started blaming each other on the curses that was upon their children, and stuff," I simply nodded and her eyesight wavered from me and landed on Seto.

"Muzai this is Seto. Seto, Muzai," I quickly made introduces. He nodded, "Muzai, Where are your things?"

"Right here Oniichan," She said and handed me quite a few bags full of stuff. On her sixth bag, she said, "That's all of it!"

"All right. Mom and Dad might wake up, so we are going to run for it. Seto you carry Muzai, I have the bags," Both of them nodded and she slowly climbed out of the window, but slipped on something and fell into Seto's arms. Seto adjusted her, so that she would be comfortable on the run home.

We finally entered the apartment, Seto set her down and I went to go show her new room. I told her that Seto agreed to have it be painted in a few days. Days passed and so did months. She learned a lot and basically saw Seto as an older brother. After three years of living with us, we had gotten along pretty well. One day, at night, she wanted to got to the park and watch the sunset, both of us agreed it would be okay, and that we would stay in the shadows till it went down. And that is what we did as she sat on the fresh summer grass. Just as she stood up and walked over to the alleyway where we were hidden, the sun went down and Seto got tense.

"What's wrong Seto?" I asked as Muzai joined us in the shadows.

"Bakura. Take Muzai and run. There is a hunter around," Seto growled. I grabbed Muzai and dragged her towards the apartment as Seto proceed to follow us. Just as we were about to go out of the alleyway and cross the street to go into out apartment, a hunter came in front of us and one came from behind us. Growling at the one if front, Seto looked at the one behind, and we kept Muzai in the middle. All I remember was fighting , then I blacked out just after I killed one of the hunters.

But I do remember what happened afterwards. My sister died the same way as Benpaia. In public. Seto and I went out there at night, and though it hurt to break the chains, we did. And gave her a proper burial. Ever since then, I have changed. No longer the caring person I use to be, but a vampire, who main goal was to kill off all the hunters, and their order. I turned cold and ruthless.

*****End of Flashback****

I finished washing myself up and turned off the shower. I wrapped a towel around my waist and proceeded to dry off my hair.

"One more week," I thought. One more week, and it would be the time where me and Seto go visit the grave yard to visit out two loved ones. One more week. I opened the locket and looked at the picture of my smiling little baby sister. That was my angel. Now me and Seto have nothing really to live for except to kill the hunters.

I wonder why the boy still hasn't called the police on me.
