Expect the Unexpected

 

The snowy night was remarkable; Anzu Mazaki and Yami Bakura who was right now disguised as Ryou Bakura were in the park. Some snow were in their hair, the snow blended completely with Bakura's hair, but he never minded, he was too focused on what to say to her. What he didn't know she was thinking the same thing. “I wonder if he knows that I know he's Yami Bakura.. I don't think so, if he did he might have sent me to the Shadow Realm or be one of his figurines on his shelf.” `He's been really nice to me these couple weeks. I wonder if im actually falling for him, I must have, im already dreaming about him. But if he knows, then he'll just probably use me.' `I wonder, if she knows im actually Yami Bakura and not Ryou, that lucky dog. He gets to be friends with the most beautiful girl in the entire world. I better come clean right now and tell her my feelings.'

 

“Hey Anzu, these couple of weeks have been great, but im not who you think I am.” “I know, your Bakura aren't you?” I reply with a soft smile. He looked at me with no expression. He looked like he was really mad now. He stiffened and said “You've known all this time and toyed with me?” he said in his monotone voice that gave me chills down my spine. “Yes, I knew but I never toyed with your feelings Bakura!” “Then why did you pretend like nothing happened?” “Because I wanted to be friends with you! Trust me I never regret ever spending any time with you. I've had more fun with you than any of my friends. But then I started to wonder why you never sent me to the Shadow Realm or be one of your figurines on your shelf. Tell me why, please…” he sighed for a moment and said “You're the only one I could really stand” his hands shivered a little from the cold. “It's no secret that I hate that pharaoh and his little midget shrimp, and that mutt and the guy with the harpoon hair that's obsessed with a girl who's not even in high school yet. You always liked helping your friends' right? But you never had anyone to lean on.” I knew he was right; I was the protector of Yugi until Yami came along, and my position was replaced. Since then, I never had anyone else. Joey and Tristan have been friends since middle school and they always have each other, or if they get into a fight Joey can always go to Serenity and vice versa. Same with Tristan. “Your one of the only people I respect and I mean that. On the battle blimp Ryou and I took the plunge, everyone didn't care except for you, Mai had Joey and you guys as well. You even offered to stay with us when we were recovering. I still remember that night well before you were under Malik's mind control.

*Flashback*

“Ryou, this song is dedicated to you and Bakura, hopefully it would give you both some ease from the pain you both have right now…”

“That song…can you sing it to me again?” “Sure” I sang that song and it seemed to give him some ease. As I finished he looked like he was relieved. “You stayed with us, on your own will as well. I thank you greatly. You gave me enough strength and willpower to continue.”

 

“Um, Bakura? Can I tell you something?” “Sure” “Well, I've considered you to be the closest friend I have. And I was wondering what you thought of me.” You looked a me like I was speaking a new language, then you reply with “I don't think I can consider you as a friend” Those words kept on paying in my heart and broke it. I couldn't believe that I was being rejected again. It has happened so many times in my life, I didn't think I can live now. But suddenly I felt a pair of soft warm lips on mine, and I was shocked at first and returned it. I wrapped my arms around your neck and you put your arms possessively around my back. We stayed like that for a few minutes, which felt like forever. Only breaking the kiss when we both needed air. I knew what you meant, you told me if I wanted to be your girlfriend and I gladly accepted. You appear to be a fierce lion to others you hate but you are actually a loving, caring and compassionate tiger. We went home that night accepted that the unexpected can be expected. We reached your house that was always cozy and warm. The snow did not stop and kept on snowing and there was a wind coming up, so I stayed. We laid in each others arms that night, comforting and keeping each other warm.
