Epilogue

It was midnight. Time had stood still - or so it seemed to them. In the darkness, the candles flickered, casting shadows on the walls. Yugi and Kai sat on the sofa, holding each other, shaking from shock, and Joey and Mai were looking anywhere but each other. Hope took one glance at Tristan, and ran outside, sliding down the wall and curling up, crying. Tristan leant with his head against the hall wall, and closed his eyes. The memory of what had happened all those millennia ago was still fresh in his mind.

Upstairs, Téa stood by her window, staring out at the mausoleum. Yami was behind her, his arms wrapped around her waist. Silent tears rolled down her face, and she knew it wasn't over yet. The worst was yet to come. Turning round in Yami's embrace, she buried her face in his chest and sobbed. Yami watched the light flickering in the mausoleum, knowing that whatever was going to happen would happen soon.

The wait for Tempt Not The Guardian, the final story in the trilogy is gonna be longer…I need a break to carry on with the manga-based story I've created and I have major exams this year.
