Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Final Minutes ❯ Chapter 1

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

WARNING: Story metions extreme violence. This is really the first angst story I've written in a good while. Its based loosely off one of Stephen King's short stories in his new book 'Everything's Eventual: 14 Dark Tales'. If your into Stephen King, go out and buy it, its a very good read. The story that this fiction is loosely based on is 'Autopsy Room Four' in which a man is sent into an autopsy room before he is dead, and they don't relize hes still alive until their about to cut him open. So, if you like that kinda thing, read on, brave-one and enjoy!(Also, this is a one-shot, but if I get enough reviews, I may make a sequel or prolong or something like that.) ___________________________________________________________________________ _ _

Life-less brown eyes stared up at the white tile ceiling of the hospital room, trying to remember anything of the day before. Ryou inwardly sighed. When he awoke, he had the feeling something was wrong, and now it was confirmed. He was in a state of paralyisis, and he wasn't getting up any time soon. A single tear trailed its way down his cheek. 'Bakura's done it this time,' He thought miserably. 'Hes seriously damaged my body.' He tried turning his head, but to no avail. He couldn't even blink his eyes. As he lay in the bed, his mind starting to cloud over with what he thought was inevetible death, memories of Bakura's last act of violence slowly drifted into his thoughts. He could still hear the glass shatter, Bakura's harsh laughter, and that horrible sound... the sound of Bakura's knife seering his skin. It took him all his strenght, but he finally managed to close his eyes. He heard heavy foot steps out in the hallway, and then the squeak that meant someone was entering his room. He heard the doctor' s gruff voice. "Take him off life support, nurse. Theres no helping him..." Ryou's heart almost stopped. No....they just couldn't! He tried to move his arms, his legs, tried to do something to let them know he was getting better, but he knew he wasn't. More tears began to trickle down his cheek, and if the nurse noticed, she did nothing about it. Then he couldn't hear it. Couldn't hear the sound of the small machine taking measure of his pulse. Inside of himslef, he let out a strangled cry. This truly was the end. And had been all the fault of his yami. 'I hate you Yami Bakura! And I hope that no one ever finds this damned ring again!' He heard dark chuckling in the back of his consious. 'Little Ryou,' Bakura mocked. 'I am the darkness. Just because you die does not mean I am trapped forever. No, there will be others, others just like you. Afraid of me, scared of my power! And I'll conquer them, just as I did you.' Ryou inwardly gasped as he felt his yami's spirit form wrap its arms around him. 'Just remember, little Ryou,' He whispered dangerously in his ear.'You won't be the last, and you weren't the first. Say hello to my other hikaris when your dead....' Then it all went black. Ryou was gone, and Bakura lived on in the Millineum Ring, free to ravish and kill again. ___________________________________________________________________________
