[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Seto: `looks around' Where's Yuri?
Jou: `shrugs' I don't know.
Yuri: Psssss! `peeks out from behind a bush'
Jou: Hey! Um what are you doing?
Yuri: Hiding.
Seto: From who?
Yuri: The readers.
Jou: Why?
Yuri: `looks around' Because they want to eat me!
Seto: …Um ok…
Yuri: Ok…um so ya. A lot of readers are upset because they thought that Anzu and Yami are now together. You guys should know me by now. Trust me, I'm not going to disappoint you. This is one of my many many twists in this story but I promise it will work out in the end.
Readers: `puts down torches'
Yuri: Phew! Ok well I know I said that I was updating `Love Forever' tonight but I really do have to clear some things up in `Find Me' so enjoy the next chapter and review please. And another thing, I apologize if any of my readers thought that I was talking about them when I referring to people not liking the story. It was directed at two people (who know who they are) but now that conflict is over. And on a last note, I now I stated at the beginning of this fic that I would not be using the plot from the little mermaid but I decided that there is one part in the movie that would fit in perfectly with my plot so just for this chapter, there will be a little reference to the little mermaid, which I will clarify at the end. Please enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh or the Little Mermaid.
…The Fifth Wish…
The room was very quiet. The only sound that was heard was the sound of little Yugi yawning when the bright sun hit his eyes. He put up his arm to shield himself and then quickly got up and closed the curtains, but not before peering outside the window and giving the sea a sad look. He turned back around with a smile though. Last night had been the greatest night of his life. He finally had the love that he had been yearning for, ever since he laid eyes on his devastatingly charming love. He sneaked up to the bed and got in the position to pounce on the crimson-eyed youth but was stopped in his tracks when he noticed that the bed was completely empty. He looked around with a frown on his face and spoke out with a tone of concern: “Yami?” When he didn't get a response he opened the door that led out to the hallway and peeked his head out cautiously. When he realized that the hall was deserted, he took a step out of Yami's room and began to walk down the hall towards the main living area slowly. `Did Yami have a meeting this morning?' If so, the teen had not informed Yugi, which was odd to say the least. Maybe Yami did not want to disturb Yugi from his slumber. Yugi decided that he would accept that answer until he found out why Yami was really missing. The small boy soon lost consciousness of what he was doing and where he was going as memories from the previous night infiltrated his thoughts. Yami had held Yugi in his arms the whole night, never letting the amethyst-eyed boy go. For once in Yugi's life, he felt loved, and happy, and safe. Warmth filled Yugi's body from his head to his toes and he imagined that his face was pink from the loving sensation that had infested his mind. He almost didn't realize when his blonde friend came running up to him until the said blonde grabbed his arm roughly and dragged him along for the ride.
“Jou, what in Ra's name are you doing?” Yugi said in anxiously. He didn't like when he had no idea what was going on. Jou turned his head a little and smiled.
“Seto's about to wake up and I don't think you want to be anywhere near here when he does” Jou said with a smile. Yugi's eyes shot opened as he wrestled his arm away from Jou's tight grip, which caused the blonde to stop running as well.
“O my god, what did you do?” Yugi said incredulously.
Jou had a small grin on his face as he looked up towards the ceiling and began to rock back and forth with his hands behind his back as he said in an innocent voice: “Nothing…”
“You're full of it” Malik said as he approached the two followed by their small albino friend.
“Maybe a little” Jou said, signaling the small amount by holding his fingers only a few inches apart.
Malik laughed at Jou's antics and Ryou just shook his head. Another day, another prank, what else was new?
“So where are you guys off to?” Yugi asked, motioning towards the two new arrivals.
“The kitchen. We're bloody starving” Ryou said in his British accent.
Yugi nodded in agreement. “But we'll be back. We'll see you in a few” Malik said and began to walk away. Ryou smiled at Jou and Yugi before also walking away towards the kitchen. When they were gone, Jou turned towards his small friend and smiled. “So how was last night?” Jou asked with a wink. Neither of them realized that they had begun walking again.
Yugi managed to stop a light blush that was threatening to tint his pale cheeks before responding: “Nothing happened, Jou.”
The blonde frowned. “So he didn't tell you that he loves you?” Jou asked as he lifted his eyebrow.
This time Yugi could not contain his shyness and his face became flushed. “No, he did” Yugi said meekly. Jou smiled from ear to ear with the piece of information that Yugi had just divulged to him.
“Congrats Yuge! I knew you two would—“ Jou stopped and his eyes grew wide with shock. Yugi was quite surprised by his friend's sudden lost for words and looked at Jou's face worriedly.
“What's wrong, Jou?” Yugi asked and began to follow Jou's line of sight. “Is there some—“
Words were no longer able to escape his lips as a huge lump formed in Yugi's throat as he stared unwillingly at the sight before him. He rubbed his eyes a few times and dared to look again, hoping that his mind was playing a very cruel trick. But no. There was Yami holding Anzu's waist with a wide smile on his face talking to Seto.
“What do you mean your getting married!?” Seto screamed at the top of his lungs. “You're seventeen years old!”
Yugi looked back and forth between Seto and the two people that stood in front of him that were interlinked. What did Seto mean Yami was getting married? That's impossible. Yami reached out hesitantly and called out to his love: “Yami, what are you doing?”
The three people standing in the living area all turned suddenly to stare at the smaller boy. Seto's eyes however turned his attention from Yugi to Jou and saw the mix of both shock and anger that was filling the blonde's face at a fast rate. Anzu on the other hand couldn't be more pleased that the two boys had interrupted their conversation.
“Why hello Yugi. I'm glad you could join us,” she said with a tone of dominance. “Yami was just telling Seto how he and I are to be married soon.”
Yugi felt his heart stop. “What?” was all Yugi could say. His eyes began to burn sharply and he began to feel dizzy. Yugi continued to stare at Yami though. He was surprised at how emotionless Yami's face was. “Yami?” Yugi said as he approached the boy. He lunged on to Yami's waist as tears began to fall down his cheeks leaving a salty trail. “Yami, please” Yugi said with more tears. “Please tell me this isn't true.” Yugi was caught off guard when he was pushed away from Yami roughly. He looked up in disbelief when he realized that it had been Yami who had thrown him aside.
“No” Yami said in a voice that was completely unfamiliar to Yugi. “It is true” Yami spoke out. The grin on Anzu's face increased until the girl was smiling so wide that it looked like she was on crack.
“No Yami!” Yugi cried out with so much anguish and pain that even Seto was affected by his words. “You told me that you loved me. Last night you told me that you would love me forever” Yugi said as he fell to his knees.
For a second it appeared as though a flash of emotion crossed through Yami's eyes. But it disappeared as quickly as it came. Without saying another word, Yami took hold of Anzu's hand and led her outside the door and within a moment the two were gone. Seto was also no longer in his place on account of the fact that he was holding Jou back from killing both Yami and Anzu.
“Get back here!” Jou screamed in vain. He squirmed in Seto's strong grip. “Damn it Kaiba let go!” Jou yelled at the taller brunet.
“No, Jou. Calm down. This is not the way to handle this!” Seto said with authority. Jou quickly realized that it was no use struggling against Seto since the brunet obviously was not going to let him go. When Jou had stopped moving, Seto decided to let go and watched as Jou ran straight to his crying friend on the ground.
“Yuge!” Jou said as he embraced the boy warmly. Yugi accepted the kind act and snuggled in closer to Jou as he cried profusely into Jou's neck.
“Shhhh. It's gonna be ok buddy” Jou whispered into Yugi's ear and after a few minutes of comforting, Yugi's outburst decreased to a small sob.
Seto approached the two and sat down slowly on the long dark jade couch that was right next to the two boys on the floor.
“Something's not right” Seto said as if he was talking to himself. Jou rolled his eyes at the brunet before speaking out in an annoyed manner: “Gee, ya think?”
Seto took no mind to the blonde's gesture and crossed his arms behind his head. “That bitch did something. I don't know what but there's no way in hell that Yami would even go near Anzu willingly never mind marrying her!” Seto said still in disbelief.
Jou narrowed his eyes and gave the brunet a look that said `shut up before you make him start crying again.' Seto waved the look off and said: “He's sleeping.”
Jou turned his head quickly and to his amazement Seto was right. Yugi was in fact sound asleep in his arms. Jou looked back to Seto before standing on his feet. “I'm going to go put him in his room. Then we need to find out how Anzu managed to pull this off and fix this.”
Seto nodded. As much as he didn't get involved in his cousin's personal life, there was no way in hell that he was going to have Anzu as a sister-in-law. The mere thought alone made him shiver. Jou began to walk away but then turned around quickly and asked: “Hey, how did you manage to escape from my trap?” Jou asked curiously.
Seto smiled. “I woke up before they could get out of the jar,” he said.
Jou was slightly impressed but did not let it show in his face. “So where'd you put them?” Jou asked.
Seto's smile widened. “In Marik and Bakura's beds.”
A grin found it's way to the blonde's face. “That's so wrong” Jou said as he proceeded to exit the room.
He only heard Seto say: “Yes, I know.” The blonde waited until the door closed behind him and then looked at the lump of dead weight in his arms. `Poor Yuge' he thought to himself. They needed to find out what the hell was going on and fast. Jou gave a fleeting glance at the door behind him as he shook off the feeling of loneliness that crept into his body after he had left Seto.
…
Anzu smiled. `This was just too perfect' she thought as she tightened her grasp around the two golden items in front of her. When she had made that wish last night, she had no idea that it would come true. The only logical explanation is that these items had had something to do with it because as much as she would sometimes force herself to think that there was, in all reality there was no way that Yami would suddenly just fall head over heels in love with her and even propose, To test out her theory, the brunette had made a wish a few minutes ago on the same item, which was a stunning golden necklace, that she had directed her focus on the previous night. However, when nothing happened she assumed that maybe there was a limitation on the items and that maybe she could only get one wish per item. She didn't want to waste a wish though just to see if her assumptions were correct so instead she placed the necklace, and the item that she had not made a wish on, in her drawers. She didn't realize that there was a figure standing in her doorway watching her every move.
…
Malik and Ryou stared with open jaws at their blonde friend.
“What!?” Malik screamed in anger. He got up quickly and began to make his way to the door with clenched fist. Jou tried to block him but Malik was not having it.
“Get out of my way, Jou. I'm going to find that bitch and kill her and then I'm going to go find Yami and kill him slowly,” Malik yelled.
Ryou shook his head. “I don't think that's a good idea, Malik.”
Malik growled angrily and punched the wall. “So we're just going to let this happen? This whole marriage thing?” Malik yelled.
Jou sighed. “No but we cant really kill them either. And trust me, I wanted too” Jou said as he took a seat.
Ryou looked at Jou. “So what are we going to do?” the albino asked.
Jou opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by an all to familiar voice. “I know how she did it.”
Everyone turned to see Seto standing in the doorway. By now Bakura and Marik had introduced Malik and Ryou to Seto and under the same conditions as Jou, Seto said they could stay.
“How?” Jou asked skeptically.
Seto walked up closer to everyone and said in a quiet voice: “She has one of those items.”
Jou's eyes shot open. “But I thought—“
Seto glared at Jou. “I'm not dumb Jou. I overheard you, Yugi, Yami, Bakura, and Marik talking in the kitchen about the items” Seto said.
Jou nodded slowly. So Seto had known all along that they were mermaids.
“So you saw Anzu with one of those items?” Ryou asked softly. The brunet merely nodded.
Jou looked down at the floor. “Then how are we going to fix this? Those wishes are permanent. Nothing can break it” Jou said sadly.
Silence filled the room. What were they going to do? What was powerful enough to break a spell?
…TBC…
Yuri: I PROMISE next time there will be MalikxMarik and RyouxBakura. I apologize dearly for taking so long for their relationship to develop. You guys will find out what Jou's prank was next time. I will also bring Seto and Jou closer together. Um and to clarify something, Seto only thinks that Anzu has ONE item. He didn't see the other one. And the reference to the Little Mermaid is that the main guy character in the movie is put under a spell and almost marries the sea monster but it's a little different hehe. Um that's the only reference to this movie though so if you think you know what's going to happen next because you've seen the movie, then you're wrong! Hehe! Till next time!
