…Tears and Kisses…
Jou sat upright on the large bed and peered over at his friends with sad eyes. Next to the large window, Yugi, who had awoken from his deep slumber only moments ago, was weeping and Jou didn't know what to do except try to console the small boy with comforting words.
“Yuge, please don't cry. It'll be okay” Jou said softly. He was slightly taken aback when Yugi snapped his head towards him with anger in his eyes.
“How would you feel if Seto was getting to married to someone besides you?!” Yugi shouted. The blonde was stunned at Yugi's sudden outburst and strangely enough he didn't know how to respond to the question. Instead Jou just sat still in silence. Yugi quickly ran up to Jou and embraced him.
“I'm sorry Jou. I'm just really upset” Yugi said as more tears escaped his eyes.
The blonde sighed. “Yugi, I already told you. He doesn't love her. He loves you. It was that damn wish” Jou said.
Yugi continued to weep into Jou's shoulder. “That doesn't stop my heart from hurting” Yugi said softly.
Jou patted Yugi's back with one hand and held him around his waist with the other. “Don't worry Yugi. We'll get Yami back” Jou said. More tears stained his shirt and the blonde found it difficult to keep himself from crying, since the sight of his heart-broken friend was hard to watch. “I promise” Jou said as he continued to hold Yugi tightly. He then got upfrom his seat on the bed and walked over to the large window. Once there, he closed the curtains because outside on the shore, servants were preparing for the small wedding that was to take place the very next day.
…
Seto sat in the large wooden chair at the head of the long table in the dining room. The brunet was extremely confused and he didn't like the feeling one bit. Not only was his dumb ass of a cousin under a trance and believed that he was in love with Anzu but he also had four prior mermaids who were raising all types of hell as a result of this, especially the one who looked like Marik. He was also confused about a certain blonde. Why was it that Jou made his blood boil? Why was it that if Seto even looked at Jou, he had a strong urge to do or say something mean? Seto was indeed mean to everyone but he never tried purposely to be mean. That's just how he was. But when it came to Jou, Seto made an attempt to be extra mean. His mind wandered back to a time in third grade. There was this girl who had had a crush on him. However, instead of being nice and kind to Seto, the girl would trip him or poke him with a stick until one day when Seto was fed up and yelled at her violently. After that day, she never talked to him again and she was probably the reason that Seto had no interest in girls. But it did strike Seto as odd how the girl expressed her feelings for him. He then thought back to the similar situation between him and Jou. How would he know if it was not hate that he felt for the blonde but instead maybe love? Seto was in fact not capable of expressing his feelings that well. He didn't like having weaknesses and having a soft spot for someone else was definitely having a weakness. Maybe that was why Jou made him so angry and defensive. Because Jou was a threat to his strength. Because Jou would be a weakness for him. Who knows? Maybe Seto just really hated the other's guts.
At that particular moment, the person who had had him so bemused walked into the room from the hall. `Well…there was only one way to find out' Seto thought before he stood up from his seat.
…
Malik peeked out from behind a large rock and grinned devishly. He was moments from jumping out and destroying everything that the servants had spent all morning prepaing for the wedding. However, a voice stopped him where he stood.
“Malik, what are you doing?” Ryou asked with his arms crossed and his right foot tapping the ground impatiently.
Malik smiled. “Nothing” the blonde said swaying back and forth gently.
Ryou was not satisfied. “Malik” Ryou spoke again with a tone of warning.
Malik sighed. “I need to get them to postpone this wedding, Ryou. We need more time to think of a plan” Malik said.
Ryou didn't like the fact that Malik was planning on destroying all the work that the servants had done all morning long but the blonde was right. They needed more time. Ryou nodded and was about to walk away to let Malik be his trouble-making self but then something came to mind: “Malik, Bakura came up to me today not that long ago and asked me about the item. He wanted to know where I found it.”
Malik looked a little surprised. “That's strange. Marik asked me the same thing.”
“Did you tell him?” Ryou asked.
“Yeah, I told him so he would go away. I just said that we found it in a chest at the bottom of the sea.”
Ryou nodded. “Same here.”
The albino then titled his head to the side. “Why do you think they wanted to know?” Ryou asked.
Malik shrugged in response. “I don't know but I'm sure there's no particular reason though. They were probably just curious.”
Ryou thought for a second and then smiled. “Yeah, you're probably right” Ryou said before walking away, well aware that all hell was about to break lose.
…
Marik walked into the living room and instantly noticed Bakura sitting on the couch with his feet on the table. The albino lifted his head when he heard Marik approach him.
“So” Bakura said “what's he tell you?”
Marik sighed as he plopped down on the coushion next to Bakura.
“Chest. Bottom of the sea. You?” Marik said as he took the remote from the table and changed the channel.
“Same” Bakura said, ripping the remote from Marik's hand.
Marik took a deep breath. “We need to find it, before someone else does” Marik said.
Bakura nodded. “I know” he said in agreement.
Marik sighed again before stealing back the remote. If they didn't find what they were looking for then someone else might. And if that happened, then everyone would be in possible danger, including them.
…
Seto stood up to his feet when Jou entered the room.
"Kaiba, I need you to do me a favor and help me stop Yami from making the biggest of his life" Jou said from across the table.
Seto, however, was not that pleased with Jou's bossy tone. "I don't do favors" Seto said. The brunet began to walk towards the kitchen door when a glass plate came flyinf towards his head. Luckily, his reflexes were fast enough and he managed to dodge it. The plate then proceeded to slam against the wall and shatter into one million pieces. Seto quickly turned to face Jou who had about a dozen plates in his hand.
"You stuck up, selfish, conceited, good for nothing jerk!" Jou said angrily throwing another plate at Seto's head, which the brunet managed to dodge again. "Your cousin is about to give his soul to the devil herself and all you can say is 'I don't do favors'!" Jou said while throwing another plate. After a few more plates were broken, Seto managed to get close enough to Jou to grab hold of both of his wrist; all the plates were dropped to the floor and shattered. Jou was pinned up against the wall with Seto holding both of his wrist over the blonde's head with one hand, and his other hand pressing against Jou's chest so that the boy did not squirm so much.
"Let go of me Kaiba!" Jou screamed as he struggled against the brunet's hold. He glared his eyes when Seto didn't say anything. "I said let go!" Jou said again. He was becoming furious because Seto was just standing in front of him nonresponsive and it was really pissing him off.
"I HATE YOU!" Jou screamed hoping that his loud voice and cruel words would knock the brunet out of whatever trance he was in. The response he got was very unexpected to say the least. Instead of saying anything, Seto pressed his lips against Jou's own and the blonde's eyes almost popped out of his head. At first Seto could feel Jou try to break free but as the seconds progressed, Seto felt Jou begin to kiss him back, making the brunet smile into the kiss.
