Disclaimer: I wish I owned YGO. I totally would kill Seto… oh wait, he needs a rival, but doesn't Yami already have Yami Bakura and Malik? *Shrug*
Summary: In which Yami summons the `Dark Magician' and meets Mahaado again. ^^
Warnings: I don't know enough about Ancient Egypt. Did they have desks or tables? And yes, again, I warn of OOCness!
Chapter 2

“Pharaoh, you must rest.” Shimon sighed as he looked at the young ruler. Yami had hardly eaten nor slept much since his loyal priest's death. It was almost as if he blamed himself for Mahaado's defeat and subsequent demise…
The Pharaoh gave him a glare and picked up another grape from the fruit basket on his table.
Shimon shook his head. There was one way…
“In that case, perhaps you would like to accompany me down to the dueling courts. Perhaps a duel may help take your mind off…”
Yami's eyes lit up and he nodded. “Yes, I suppose that would be acceptable.”
Shimon grinned. Hook, line, and sinker…

True, without a Sennen Item, he could do no more than summon the Ka, the Spirit-Beast that lived in his heart, but at least it would get Yami's mind off Mahaado's death, right?
He was proven wrong as soon as they entered the chambers, because Yami's first monster was the former priest, though to be fair, it did help.

Someone was calling him.
Mahaado's eyes slid open as he stood, frowning. Who was calling him? The voice was familiar, and yet, he seemed distant…
Mahaado…
“Pharaoh…?”
He could `feel' the shadows smiling at him. Yes. He is safe, and he is calling for you. Go to him, child… go to him…
How could he disobey?

There was silence after he finished the summoning spell. For a long moment, he thought he had failed, that something had gone wrong, that Mahaado really was dead and gone, but then light began to glitter in front of him and he frowned. Was this…?
The hair and eye color were wrong, but it was undoubtedly him. With a cry, Yami threw himself into the Dark Magician's arms, tears running down his face. “Mahaado…”
“Pharaoh.” At least his voice had remained the same. Shimon colored and looked away as Yami decided to deepen their contact, and rose on his tiptoes to kiss the monster. True, it was on the cheek, but still! Mahaado paled as red flushed his cheeks.
“My Pharaoh…!”
“None of that.” Yami shook his head. “You have already died for me. What more can I ask of you? Indeed, it should be I who apologizes…”

Shimon started thinking that maybe leaving would be a good idea. There were some things a poor old man would not want to see. He left.

Mahaado gasped as Yami kissed him again, and this time, there was no mistaking his intention. If this were a dream, or even, Ra forbid, an illusion, he did not care…
His armor shifted, melting into the familiar robes he had worn as the Priest of the Millennium Ring. However, the changes to his hair and eye color remained.
Yami looked fascinated. Those golden eyes captivated his interest almost immediately, and Mahaado looked wonderful, but as he pulled the mage in for another kiss, he noticed with some disquiet a strange sense of power running through Mahaado's body. It seemed to vibrate within his heart, and he saw his Puzzle take on a golden glow. What power was this? Was it the power of the Shadows?
It mattered little.

Somehow, they made it through the corridors to the Royal Bedroom, and no one saw them. Yami decided that Mahaado must have cast some type of illusion, because how else could one explain the strange discrepancies? Indeed, they even saw Set, but he was angrily screaming at a sheepish Mana - Yami winced, glad it wasn't him at least, before feeling guilty - and didn't notice them.
It was addicting, the moment he felt surrender, and despite his earlier words, he wanted nothing more than to claim the Priest as his own, now and forever…
Mahaado was loyal, and Yami had appreciated him, but not enough, in life.
Now, though, things would be different.
He had been given a second chance. He would not betray his friend again.
They lay intertwined for a long while, and he felt warm.

Mahaado was like a source of power, and Yami was the first to taste it. Even as they moved, he had felt power, darkness shadow, coursing through their clasped fingers, and as he gasped in ecstasy, he had felt the current continue to run, filling him…
It was delicious. Wanting and fulfillment, a never-ending cycle that he had no desire to break. Ever.
It was only later, that he realized Mahaado was a Ka monster, and as such, should not be able to exist outside the Shadow Games. How perplexing.

“Mahaado?”
“Yes, my Pharaoh?”
Yami looked guilty, but his Ba gauge had not faltered at all, still at full health and life. “I...I apologize for summoning you...”
“Nonsense, my Pharaoh. If you had not, then I would not be here now.” Mahaado said practically, almost a purring twist to the words. Yami was forced to admit the validity of that statement, but he still felt uneasy.
“But you're not disappearing… it's been hours…”
“My Pharaoh,” Mahaado whispered in his ear as he tightened his hold around Yami's waist, pressing a kiss to the nape of his neck, “I exist as long as you wish for my presence. I will vanish when you will it.”
It was a lie, but Mahaado did not know. He simply assumed that since he had died for the Pharaoh and sworn to be his eternal servant, he would exist as long as the Pharaoh willed him to. He was bound to Yami after all.
Wasn't that all that mattered?

Yami suddenly grinned. “Then I shall not worry about you disappearing, Mahaado. For I do not wish for you to leave.”
He wondered what horrors Mahaado had been through in the Shadow Realm. They banished the darkest-hearted men there, those that could not be saved even after the loss of their Ka monsters…
“My Pharaoh?” Yami was shivering in his arms. Was the water too cold? He visualized the runes for warmth, and was gratified when the temperature rose to a comfortable bath. Yami sighed and leaned his head against Mahaado's chest. “I am simply tired, Mahaado.”
“Was there any news of Bakura in my… absence?”
Yami shook his head. “None at all, Mahaado. But I do wish this so-called war he started ends soon. My people should not suffer for my father's mistake…”
“Your… Father's mistake?”
Yami nodded. “High Priest Akunadin is dead… not three days ago, Bakura took the Sennen Eye… and he has your Ring…”
“I would not worry overmuch for the Ring.” Mahaado frowned, trying to figure out how to phrase his next statement without revealing the fact that the Shadow Realms kind of belonged to him. “It appears that… when I died, the power of the Ring merged with my magic and now the Ring is simply an empty golden trinket.”
Yami laughed softly. “That is a relief, then.” After a few more minutes, they exited the bath and dressed.
After all, Yami still had his duties as Pharaoh to take care of…
