Chapter 7: Torn

Yugi knows the truth now…but will he tell his brother or keep it from him and allow Serena to lie to him? How will Serena be able to cope with the fact that she is in love with two men…two men who hate each other? How will she tell them what she feels for the other?

"What am I going to do?? What am I going to do??" Yugi asks himself

`Should I tell him?'

`Should I keep it from him?'

Yugi paced around outside, thinking whether or not he should go inside and say something. The image keep going through his head, Serena, the woman his brother loves and the one he saw as a sister; having sex with his brother's greatest rival, Bakura. "How could she do this to him?" Yugi kept asking himself.

Back inside, while Bakura was sleeping peacefully, Serena was in the shower thinking about the events that just took place and what her sister said. As she finishes her shower, she also thinks about Atemu and how he will feel when she finally tells him, "There has to be some part of him that thinks I don't have the same feelings he does?" But some part of her does love Atemu, but just not the same as Bakura. Confused, Serena just gets out, dries off and puts a gown and heads back to bed.

Outside, Yugi finally decides to go home and think this over there.

The next morning Bakura wakes up to find Serena gone, he gets up and finds that she has made breakfast for him but is not there. Bakura decides to eat before leaving himself, secretly smiling as he thinks about the events that happened last night.

Serena is now outside walking around the market, still thinking when she runs into Shizuka, "Hey Serena! What's wrong?" she asks as she watches her friend look somewhat sad and depressed. Serena finally notices her and gives her a warm smile before heading into one of the markets, "Serena, wait. Is this about that thief Bakura, why are you even still with him, you have Atemu, he is not evil like Bakura." Shizuka says stopping her from going inside. Serena looks away and becomes angry, "He has never hurt me! Why do you and my sister think he has? I have known him since we were little, he has never done anything to me!" Serena yells. As they argue, they are unaware that Yugi has followed Serena and is listening in on the conversation, "But what about Atemu, he loves you dearly. What about your role as queen by his side when you two get married? Why don't you give him a chance?" Shizuka asked. Serena just shakes her head and turns away looking at the sky, "A part of me does love him, but not the kind of love I have for Bakura, it is different, I don't know how explain it. I just know how I feel about them. But it is confusing, I love two men and don't know what to say to either of them." Serena said. Yugi still listening, realizes a little of what she is talking about, but is glad that she is not using him or is lying to him, `She is just confused, maybe she can give my brother a chance.' Yugi said to himself, happy that his brother might have a chance with Serena. With that he runs back home, at this point Shuree comes up curious as to why Yugi was spying on them, "Oh no. Don't tell me that he knows" she said to herself but ignores it and goes to see what Serena and Shizuka are arguing about. "How do you feel about them Serena? Maybe you can decide who you can be with, but I honestly hope you can be with Atemu." Shizuka says.

`How do I feel about Bakura and Atemu?' Serena thought to herself as she listened to the word, Love. What does she have for Bakura? For Atemu? Is it the same or different for both of them? All she knows is that to her Bakura seems like a different person around her, she can feel safe regardless of the fact that he is evil and has done numerous things to people. He was someone who lost his parents and hometown; he is very sweet to her in a weird way.

Atemu is different; he is kind without fault, generous, loving and sweet. He loves her dearly yet she loves his greatest rival, but she loves him too in a way and it is tearing her apart now, two men in her life, both rivals to each other, each different to her in so many ways. She remembers one time with Atemu where he believed that they were meant for each other, how they were able to connect and share things and they barely knew each other. She believed that for a long time, Atemu was the only one who would talk to her through her tough times with her job and family. He was there for her when she needed a shoulder to cry on, he understood her, with them being from different backgrounds, he from a royal line and her from a family who lived on the streets. That was when she realized at that moment remembering that she does love Atemu.

But what about Bakura, they have known each other since childhood; he becomes a different person around. She makes him smile and laugh, as does he do to her, she feels safe around him, secure, no matter what he does, he has never hurt her in any way, whether it was emotional or physical. But one thing she knows she can't do around him; is talk to him; with Atemu she can talk to him, tell her all her problems and he understand and judge her for it like her parents do. She feels that she can share passion with Atemu, but also shares it with Bakura, but they are very different.

`How can I choose? I love them both, yet neither of them knows that I love the other. How am I going to fix this? What will everyone think? What will Yugi think, he sees me as a sister.'

Serena finally left, confused, scare and torn between two men.
