Shadow: This is what I get for offering to help! *grumbles*

LusciousDragon: Well, on with my story…I finally pulled the grade up…and while she's not happy that I have a "C" in Bio, my mom agreed to allow me back on the internet….I'm not thanking her…'cause it's not like she gave me something….it's like…taking someone's….book…and then giving it back…you don't thank them… because they're merely giving back what you already owned…anyhow…I'm back on the internet, and that is what counts!!!!

I'd like to give a special thanks to DarianaOniko…I'm not annoyed…I am glad to know that about Ancient Egypt…[she told me that in Ancient Egypt…"They actually had no concept of virginity, it's not even a word in their language. Since desert life was no hard and so many children died, they didn't really care how a woman conceived or how many men she had slept with, just that she had a child that survived to adulthood. They didn't even have a formal marriage system, if a couple wanted to get 'married' they simply moved in together and to `divorce' one of them just moved out. Also another fact that might help with your story, the Egyptians were the first to invent sexual toys."] Unfortunately…I know little to nothing about Ancient Egypt…Wait!! Yes I do…I got magazines on the place just so I could be as accurate as possible…obviously some of the things I can't change…but I'm glad to know this information…Unfortunately it's too late…but…I'll remember it…so thanks!!!!

The water nymphs are my own creation…they are the children of Hapi, and live in an underwater city…I don't know whether Hapi lives in the Nile…but I decided that he was in my story…

Names of important nymphs and what they mean

Sheriti = little girl, maiden

Aisha = peace, truce

Miu = softness, gentleness

Odjit = wicked

Nanu = beautiful

"She's coming too."

"Shut up!"

"She really didn't die."

"I guess that Sheriti really did save this human child."

"But for what, she isn't one of us, she shouldn't be allowed to stay. I say we kill her now before she sees our beautiful city."

"Odjit, what a horrible suggestion! For all we know, this little one may be one of us."

"Does she look like one of us? I think not."

"I think we should at least find out if she is here to cause harm."

"We shall go to father and see what he decides."

Chione's eyes fluttered, and slowly opened. The room swam into view. There were four, no five girls around here. Each had a long green hair that which was twined with flowers, and all wore nothing. She realized that she was lying on a settee, in the middle of the room.

`Where am I?' Chione thought. She tried to ask but her cracked lips would not open, and words would not form.

She licked her lips and looked up at them, her gaze questioning.

"Oh dear," the one who looked to be the youngest said, "The girl cannot speak. Nanu, bring her something to drink."

Nanu, who seemed to be the eldest, sighed and left the room.

"Well, who is going to see father?" Another asked.

"Hmm…I think it should be Miu, she was always his favorite." The one who had suggested killing Chione said, pointing to one of the girl's.

"All right, Odjit, I will go to father, but I think we should bring her along, and that Sheriti should come, after all, she is the one who rescued the girl."

"Fine," Sheriti, the youngest agreed.

Nanu appeared, carrying a goblet. "Drink this," she said in a sweet voice that was pleasing to the ear.

Chione tried to lift her arms up, but they lay, limp against her body. Nanu slowly brought the cup to Chione's lips, allowing the girl to drink it. The soothing liquid passed through her chapped lips, and down her throat, cooling the burning sensation that she had felt before. The liquid didn't just stop there, it continued through her body, rejuvenating her muscles. She sat up.

"Where am I?"

"You are in Hipporo, the city under the Nile…" Nanu explained.

"What? We're underwater?"

The girls nodded.

"What are you?" Chione asked, drawing back from them.

"We are water nymphs, the daughters of Hapi, the God of the Nile."

The youngest nymph girl came up and shyly touched Chione's golden hair. "It's beautiful, I wish I had hair like that," she said, fingering her own sea-green tresses.

Miu coughed meaningfully. Sheriti looked up, grabbed onto Chione's arm, and practically dragged her through the door.

"Come on," she giggled.

Chione gasped in amazement as they left the building and entered the streets of the underwater city. The streets were made of gold. The buildings of silver. Up ahead, a castle appeared, made of marble and gold. It had turrets and towers, and it spiraled up high into the sky. Not the sky, the surface. After all, they were underwater. The water was like air, it parted for her, and she could breathe. She looked with confusion at the two nymphs.

"That potion you drank, it allows people to become like us. You humans cannot breathe underwater, but after drinking that potion, you are able to. Also it allows humans to navigate through underwater much in the same way as they do up on the surface." Miu explained to the befuddled Chione.

Chione noticed that precious stones lay on the ground, like pebbles. There were rubies, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, among others. Chione scooped some up into her cloak. Sheriti stopped her, and told her not to do that.

"These are poor quality, do not bother to pick them up, you can have fine ones but don't embarrass yourself by picking up these."

Soon they were in front of a beautiful door that led into the castle. Miu looked at Chione's clothing with poorly disguised disgust.

"Don't you think we should dress her in something…nicer?"

"You're right; when I found her she looked like a half-drowned rat." Sheriti said.

They took her into a small room filled with all types of cloth.

"Here we go," Miu said, holding up a long strip of filmy blue cloth.

"Good, now hurry up!"

"Patience little sister…all will happen in good time…you must learn to wait…" Miu said, coming up to Chione. She told Chione to strip of her clothing, and to allow the nymphs to dress her. Chione did as she was told, and with apparent skepticism watched the older nymph swathe her with the gauzy material. Miu let her finger move down the material, and in its wake needlework appeared, so tiny and neat any woman would be proud to claim it as her own.

"But…but…how?" Chione managed to squeak out; as she stared down at the dress she now wore.

Miu smiled, "Let's just say…I have a magic finger…"

Miu pushed open the doors leading to the throne room. Chione gasped in amazement as she took in the wondrous sight before her. The walls were white, and the floor was gold. As was to be expected of a God, the room was decorated with murals of his great deeds. There, in the foreground, was a beautiful frieze of all the Gods, in some form or another. Why there was Anubis, the jackal-headed God, and next to him was Bastet, the God of fertility and love. The other Gods were scattered throughout the mural, many depicted in the act of some famous deed, like Isis, in the form of a sparrow hawk, fanning life into her husband, Osiris. So taken in by the beautiful mural, Chione failed to notice the God of the Nile, until he cleared his throat meaningfully.

Sheriti nudged her, and whispered, "Do not look at him; he is a God, you, a mere mortal."

Chione kept her eyes downcast, as the God began to speak.

"Daughter, what is the meaning of this? Why have you brought a human into the city?"

"If you'll forgive me, father, it was me…" Sheriti stepped forward, to stand next to her sister and Chione.

"Well then, what have you to say for yourself?"

"The girl was drowning, about dead when I found her; it was an act of mercy."

"I see…" He said nothing for a while before, "then you shall be declared this human's guardian. You will take care of the girl. Are you willing to accept the burden of being the human's caretaker?"

"Oh yes father, I will gladly take this burden upon myself." Sheriti said, excitedly.

"Very well, then get out of my sight, you've wasted enough of my time with your silly matters."

Shadow: *sigh* What will happen to our heroine??…no…not heroin you sick twisted fools…

Luscious: SHADOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shadow: *growls* Will we ever learn the fate of Egypt? Will the God's express their anger? Will my hikari stop being such a bossy little brat? We may never know…

Luscious: Shadow! Get out of my sight, go back and do whatever you do in your room…

Shadow: *mumbles* bossy little hikari…hate so much…
