Chapter 6:Ticking
Yami's PoV

"What!"
That's what my dear annoying wife yelled at me when I told her she was coming with me to Kaiba's house. I told her with a trace of mockery in my voice,"Yes your greatness we must journey far into the world to plead for mercy from the most idiotic sorcerer. I know it's beneath you, but we must do this for the sake of the world."
"No way I'm leaving."
Okay I was now officially annoyed at her. "Listen I'm tired of you wanting ME to do everything, then you come waltzing in when the worst has happened and you blame it on ME!!" I didn't mean to lose my temper it just happened. She just said," Well, I don't know, good-bye And she turned around to leave, but I grabbed her arm. "You are coming with me, that is an order!!!" I realized the old traces of a person used to being obeyed were coming back to me, and I pushed her down to the couch. She stood up clearly enraged by my attitude.
"Don't you dare speak to me like that!!" She said that while standing up.
"And why not?!?" I retorted
"Because I say so!!!!" She shot back and turned to leave again. This time I grabbed both of her arms and pulled her close to me. "You are NOT leaving this house." My tone was menacing for I had lost all patience.
"Watch me." Her tone was menacing too, and she struggled to get free, but my grip was stronger. Finally she yelled,"Let me go NOW!!!" All I did was smirk as a wicked idea came into my mind. I held her tighter. "Why should I let you go? Aren't you my wife? Shouldn't we be doing this?"
Her eyes grew wide. "Doing what?" All I did was give her a smile I myself qualify as creepy. "Whoah, whoa Hold on there. Let me go NOW!!!! I mean it!!"
But I held her still. She smelled nice, like lavendar flowers, or was it roses, or both... Without realizing it, I had leaned close to her. She didn't move to meet my lips, but she didn't pull away either. I was only a few millimeters away from her lips....
"Yami, do you want a coke and-whoah! Am I interrupting something?" Yugi had come in.
I hastily responded,"No! Why would you say that?"
"Uh because I saw that you were holding on to her and about to-"
I cut him off."Yugi bring me a coke!"
"Ok does your girlfr-"
I cut him off again. "Yes, she does."
Yugi gave me a weird look and said,"Ok sure, why not. But I know how to blackmail you into giving me my Gameboy back." He smiled at me as innocently as he could, then ran to get the cokes. That little ... thing ...He came back as soon as his little legs could carry him. As soon as he handed over the precious cokes, he said,"You're still holding her."
I said,"She thinks she can escape me! Ha! I've got her and I'll do with her WHATEVER I please!"
Yugi stared at me as I realized how wrong what I had just said sounded. "I didn't mean it that way!"
"Sure Yami, uh huh, I believe you."
Then the phone rang...
Normal PoV

Yugi answered it cautiously. "Hello."
"Hello little Yugi," said the voice at the other end. "Time is ticking. Tell your spirit friend to look outside for another little surprise."
Then there was a click. Yugi was left listening to the dial tone. He went to Yami, with tears in his eyes. "Someone else has been attacked." Then Yami went to the door and pulled it open, but nothing could prepare him for what he saw. Joey was on the sidewalk, his eyes wide open, lifeless, and he had a knife sticking out of his stomach.
