Chapter 12:Something Different
Outside the Udjat Temple
Yugi sat on a chair, and asked worriedly, "Do you think he'll be okay?"
Joey sat on a chair close to Yugi's and replied, "Of course he'll be okay, he's the King of Games!"
Yamila came into the helicopter and said, "This isn't a game Joey. Heishin NEVER plays games."
Joey rolled his eyes.
"Yeah well, Big Yug. can beat anyone!"
"It's not that easy, they won't be playing ANY game."
Yugi sat up. "What do you mean?"
Yamila smiled bitterly. "You thought this was a Duel Monsters game?"
Joey frowned, "Ain't it always?"
"No, not this time, his time ... it's a different kind of duel."
Inside the Udjat Temple
Yami's PoV
Okay, I'm in. What now.
I followed a long, dark corridor. It was endless! It was creepy, too. Finally, the tunnel ended in a dimly lit room. I looked around. It was lit with torches. In the middle of the vast room were two large pieces of rock. Upon, close inspection, I found out one was the tablet with the three God Cards, on it. The carving of Seto and I ... dueling. The other on was ...
I gasped, a sarcophagus. I recognized the face carved on it. My ... it was my father! I couldn't ... believe it!
"Yes it's your father." A new voice said.
I whipped around. a tall, heavily built man, was walking towards me. I knew who it was instantly.
"You're ... you're Heishin."
"Yes," he began. "I'm Heishin. Do you like the Temple? Come, follow me. There's a special place I want to show you."
I of course followed him. He opened two huge golden-framed doors. I followed, and was shocked at what I saw inside. Apparently Heishin is fond of dimly-lit rooms. But what shocked me was the people he had chained to the walls. It was Marik, Ishizu, and Odion Ishtar!
Heishin came up behind me and whispered, "Remember your little friend Te`a? She left a present for you."
I frowned.
"What do you mean?"
Then I saw, hanging from a chain, was Te`a's severed head.
"Oh my ..."
That's what I said, when I saw that ... that ... thing. I was shocked.
Then Heishin spoke again, "But, enough talk, let's play a game."
I glared at him.
"What game, Heishin?"
"A little game I was taught back home, in Egypt. I believe you were taught how to play too."
I didn't understand this man at all. Heishin went to a stone slab at the back of the room. When he came back he threw something at me. It landed at my feet. It was a sword. I looked at Heishin.
He just smiled and said, "Well, the sooner I beat you, the better."
When I picked up the sword, a strange feeling came over me. As if I knew what to do with it.
So I looked up at Heshin confidently and said, "Bring it on!"
