It was just a normal school day at Domino High School. Or at least to Yami, it was an extremely BORING day at Domino High School. They were learning about none other than ANCIENT EGYPT, which you all probably know, Yami already experienced before. As the teacher went on with the lesson, Yami boredly looked out the window, not paying at least a bit of attention. He was just about to fall asleep when he felt small tap on his shoulder.
"Hey why aren't you taking any notes?" Yugi asked.
"Because I know all of this already. You forget aibou, I lived through this before." Yami explained.
"Mr. Yami. Mr. Mutoh. Is there something that you would like to share with the rest of the class?" the teacher interrupted as the rest of the class turned their heads to the back.
"No Ms. Connor." both said at the same time.
"Good. Now where was I? Oh yeah, I was talking about ancient Egypt. The ancient Egyptians built these big buildings called pyramids, which they used to bury the dead kings, also known as pharoahs. Oh yeah, they also put valuable gold stuff in there too...." The lesson went on and Yami was more bored than before. It was SO boring that he actually fell asleep this time, but then he had that dream. The dream that started it all...
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
*~Ancient Egypt...~*
It was just an ordinary day in the kingdom. All the villagers were happy.
They had food, and places to live. Kids were playing the Shadow Game with other kids and having fun. Everything seemed to be just fine. It was all thanks to their young pharoah. He was caring of his people and he ran the kingdom well. But no matter how nice he was, he was still feared by the people because of his great power. It was said that he had these magic powers that can overthrow anyone. Most people called him the Feared Pharoah. Well of course they called him that, they didn't know what else to call him. NO ONE in the kingdom knew his name. (But you've probably already guessed that the pharoah is Yami.) None of the villagers or anyone in the royal court really knew anything about him. They just knew him as this really good pharoah who knew what he was doing and who was kind to his people. He wasn't understood by anyone....except by that one girl from the village....
*~So the dream goes on...~*
The pharoah sat on his throne looking strangely depressed. The members of the royal court didn't know what was wrong with him. He had everything that any teenager in those days could possibly want, so they didn't know why he was so unhappy.
"Maybe he needs some fresh air, let's take him on a tour of his kingdom" his friend suggested.
"Your highness, would it be alright if we take you on a trip around the kingdom? Maybe it will help cheer you up." another friend told him.
The young pharoah sighed. "If it will get me out of here for a while, then yes."
He got up on his carriage that he used to travel around in and it was lifted up and carried into the city.
"Move out of the way the pharoah is coming through!" one of the royal court yelled out.
The villagers moved out of the way as quickly as possible. They all stared in awe at their pharoah wishing that they could live a life like he did. The pharoah looked at his kingdom, the village, his people and imagined what it would be like to live like them. Free, without having to worry about anything, without having to control and be in charge of everything like he had to live.
*They're much happier than I am.* he thought to himself.
He and his servants next came across a bunch of teenagers doing their work in the farm. They all paused for a while to see him come around. They all saw the pharoah as a role model. Someone as an example to follow by. They all thought how cool it would be to be the pharoah at only about 14 years old and to have all the things you wanted. All the girls looked at the boy dreamily and starry-eyed. *.*
"He's so CUTE!" one girl squealed.
"A pharoah can marry more than one girl right?" another asked.
"Oh, I hope so. I heard one pharoah married 50 girls!"one said dreamily.
They all had gaping mouths as they watched the cart carrying the youth leave.
"Well, that was about the whole kingdom. I guess were going back to the palace now" he said sadly.
"Ow! Ugh! Dumb tree!" a voice cried out. The pharoah turned to see another young girl carrying a basket of crops, rubbing her head. She obviously bumped her head on the tree. She then looked up and her big brown eyes met the pharoah's violet ones. A little red appeared on the girl's nose. The two stared at each other until the cart turned, on the way to the palace. The pharoah turned away from the little window and thought about that girl. She was very beautiful. He remembered her brown hair, but he especially remembered her big, brown eyes. Without even noticing, a bit of red appeared on his nose just like the girl a while ago.
((((RING!!!!))))
The loud ringing bell immediately woke Yami up and stopped the peaceful dream.
Yami groaned. He didn't like to be woken up after a long, nice nap.
"What a dream..." Yami said still half asleep.
"I didn't think you were gonna wake up." Yugi said.
"Well, that was the last bell, it's Friday, plus we don't have school on Monday, so that's a 3 day weekend." Tristan said.
"So, what are we gonna do for the rest of the day?" Joey asked.
"Why don't we go out to eat and then spend the rest of the day at the bowling alley or something?" Téa suggested.
As Téa said this, the vision of the villager girl popped up in Yami's mind.
"What's the matter Yami?" she asked.
"Nothing, I'm fine." he said, shaking off the illusion.
It was now 7:00 P.M. and the gang were at the bowling alley having the time of their lives, well at least most of them. Yami seemed to be a little pre-occupied and didn't seem to be having fun at all. He was to busy thinking about the girl he saw in that dream.
"Hey Yami, it's your turn." Joey yelled, but Yami didn't seem to hear him.
"Yami! Hello! You in there?!" Tristan questioned.
Yami finally popped back into reality. "What? Oh, um right."
"Yami are you okay? You don't look alright." Téa asked gently.
"Yes, I'm fine, I'm just a little distracted that's all. Look I think I'll go home early tonight, I'm just not into having fun right now."
"Well, if you're sure." Yugi said.
Yami looked down as he walked to Yugi's grandfather's gameshop. He just couldn't stop thinking about the girl. He couldn't think about anything else. He really wasn't himself at all. In fact, his mind was so out of focus, that he wasn't paying attention to where he was going. He was closer to the gameshop than he expected, but he didn't realize that, and he bumped right into the doors of the store.
(from inside)
"Yami, you're home early. Yugi told me that you guys would come home later."
Yami pushes the door and walked inside.
"Yami, are you alright? You walked right into the door."grandpa said.
"I'm fine. I'm going upstairs."Yami replied.
"Well, if you need anything, just call."
Yami slowly went up the stairs to the room that he and Yugi shared. He had this really big headache, not from when he encountered the door, but from these visions coming up now and then. He wasn't willing to do anything else, so he sat the desk and stared into space, which eventually led to sleeping. And that of course, led to another dream...
*~Ancient Egypt~*
The young pharoah sat on his throne, but this time, he was feeling
a lot happier than yesterday.
"I think that trip around the kingdom really did something for him." his friend said.
"Yeah, he's a lot happier than yesterday." the other said.
*~Inside the Pharoah's room~*
"I wonder who that girl...."the pharoah started. "No, what am I saying? She's just a villager. And I'm the pharoah." he suddenly had a change of heart. " A pharoah could never be paired up with a..."
" A villager?" a voice said from behind. The pharoah turned to see someone come out from their hiding place behind the curtains.
"It's you."the pharoah said surprised. It was the villager girl he saw the day before. "How did you get here?" he blurted out.
"Well...I snuck inside through the windows, when the guards were away." the girl said hesitantly.
"You're not allowed to be in here." the pharoah warned her.
"I'm very sorry..." she apoligized.
"What are you doing in here anyway?"
"I...I" she started.
"You?" the pharoah wanted her to finish her statement.
"I just wanted to know if you wanted to go to the beach with me!" the girl said very quickly, her face blushing a bright red.
The pharoah was speechless. He didn't know what to say. He didn't really know this girl, and she was inviting him to go to the beach with her. He was amazed by her. To her, social class didn't matter. She didn't care that she was a plain villager girl, and she was brave enough to ask the wealthy and powerful pharoah to spend some time with her. He was so astonished, that he couldn't do anything but say,
"Alright, I need a little break. I think I've been working too hard. I'll go."
"You really will?! Great!" she cried out.
"Sshh!" the pharoah quickly covered the girl's mouth with his hand."If my advisors find out that I'm leaving with someone of different class, they'll think that you're taking me away." he moved his hand and freed her mouth.
"I'm sorry." she said.
They packed every thing that they needed for the trip, and soon the two were
off. They crept out of his room and headed quietly for the back entrance. The door was just a corner away. All they had to do was to go out, and they were free.
"Hold on, there's a guard here. Stay there, I'll take care of this." the pharoah headed out to talk to the guard.
"Who's there!" the guard turned to see who it was. He turned face to face with the pharoah. "Your highness, wha- what are you doing here?"
"I'm going to be out for the most of the day. I will be going alone, so don't send anyone to get me. I know the way back. Tell that to my advisors, tell them not to worry about me." the pharoah instructed.
"Yes, your highness!" the guard immediately went to do what the pharoah told him to do.
"You can come out now." The girl came around the corner. The two opened the door and left the palace. "Let's go, follow me." The girl led the way to the most beautiful beach in the world.
"There's no one here." the pharoah pointed out.
"That's one of the best parts. We have the entire beach to ourselves. All the room we want." she said.
The two spent the rest of the day swimming, eating, playing in the sand, and anything else that you could possibly do to have fun at the beach. The girl observed the boy she was with. Before, he had looked so lost and sad. But now, he had the time of his life. He looked so happy.
"I've never felt this happy before in years! I've never had so much fun since I took the throne. he yelled out happily. He approached the girl and hugged her.
"Thank you." he said. A flush of bright red immediately appeared on the girl's face. She felt a little disappointed when he broke the embrace.
They've been at the beach for several hours now and it was getting late. The two teens sat on the shore looking at the big, beautiful setting sun. She didn't know why, but the girl just laid her head on his shoulder.
"I'm going to have to leave soon."he reminded her.
"I know..."she said sadly.
"I had so much fun with you today. I'm glad I came with you." the pharoah said.
"I did too." the girl replied.
"I'm very sorry that I can't stay longer."he apologized.
"....I understand..." she said, with disappointment in her voice.
"Well, I think I have to go now." The young pharoah turned to go back to the palace, the same palace that isolated him from the free world. He started walking away, leaving the one thing that would make him the happiest.
"Wait!" The pharoah immediately stopped walking.
"Yes?" he asked the girl, whose face was now a bright red.
"Before you go, could I just ask you one more question?" she asked a little embarassed.
"Anything. What is it?"
"Well, I...I.." she started.
"You?" he wanted her to finish.
"I...I just want to know..." It seemed that she had trouble finishing her question. He walked up to her.
"Go ahead. Whatever it is, I'll answer it." he said assuringly.
She sighed. "Okay, I just want to know....what your name is." she was slightly frightened. She knew that the pharoah had inexplainable powers. She was afraid of what he might do to her.
"My name? It's...it's Yami." he said.
"Yami? That's a nice name." she said.
"You're the only person who knows my name. I've never told anyone my name before." Yami said.
"Why?" the girl wondered.
"Why what?"
"Why am I the one you told your name to? Why not any of your servants or any of the royal court?" the girl really wanted to know. "Why me of all people?"
"Because...you're the one who made me the happiest guy in the world. You brought me out of that isolating palace and introduced me to what really makes me happy. You're really special." Yami explained.
"Really?" the girl was lost in his pair of violet eyes.
"Yes. You mean a lot to me." Now he too was lost in her pair of big, brown eyes.
They stared into each others eyes for a long while, without even noticing that both their faces were a bright red. Yami put his hands on the girl's shoulders and moved closer to her. Their faces grew closer and closer and Yami put his lips to hers. The kiss went on for a while until he separated from her. He looked a little embarassed.
"Here, I'd like you to have this." Yami took off something shiny from his neck and closed the girl's hand over it.
She opened up her hand, and in it was a beautiful, gold necklace with Egyptian symbols on it.
"This is so pretty. You want me to have it?" she asked astonished.
"It's yours." he said.
"Thank you so much!" she quickly put on.
"Uh...I'm really sorry, but I have to leave now. Good bye!" he said quickly. Then he ran toward the palace.
"Okay! Good bye Yami!" the girl yelled after him.
She watched him until she couldn't see him anymore. She put her hand to her lips and her face glowed bright red. She smiled.
*~At the bowling alley~*
"Hey guys, don't you think it's getting kinda late?" Tristan said.
"Yeah, it's 11:00, we came here at 7:00." Téa reminded.
"We've been here for 4 hours?!" Joey yelled out.
"Yeah, we'd better go home." Yugi said.
"Hey! You kids gonna leave or what?! I got a house to go to too you know!" the grumpy manager yelled loudly.
"Sorry! We'll be leaving now." Yugi quickly apoligized.
The gang left the bowling alley and walked through the night. Then they
The Game Shop(I don't know what grandpa's shop is called.^^; )
"Well, I'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye guys." Yugi said as he opened the door to the shop.
Yugi went into the game shop. The lights were off and it was dark.
Yugi went up the stairs and saw that his grandpa's bedroom door was opened. "Look's like grandpa forgot to close his door again." so he closed it and headed for the bathroom to wash up. He came out wearing his cute star pajamas and he headed for the room that he and Yami shared. He opened the door and turned on the light. There on the desk he saw Yami fast asleep.
"Hey Yami..." Yugi reached out to wake him up, but he decided to let him sleep. He turned off the light and went to his bed. A few minutes later, Yami started to stirr. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at the little clock on the desk.
"11:00? I've been sleeping for 4 hours?" He turned to see if his aibou came home yet. He saw him asleep in his bed. Then he suddenly remembered what happened in his dream. He put his hand to his mouth.
"That kiss....it felt so real. Like it happened once before..."
Since no one else was awake, Yami decided to go back to sleep. Without even bothering to change, he just took off his jacket, and crawled into bed.
*~At Téa's house~*
Téa just got home and was already in her pajamas. When she went to
look at her alarm clock, she accidently knocked over some stuff off of her dresser. She bent down to pick them up, when she spotted something shiny on the floor. She picked it up and studied it. It was a beautiful, gold necklace that had Egyptian symbols on the front.
"Wow. It's so pretty..." she said admiringly. "Maybe I'll wear it tomorrow." she turned off the light and went to sleep.
*~The next morning~*
Yami woke late this morning. He saw that Yugi had already woken up and gone downstairs. Then he thought of what happened in his dream. How he had spent a day at the beach with the villager girl, how he told her his name, how he gave her the necklace, and the kiss. Especially the kiss. Yami just couldn't take it anymore. He had to tell someone. He decided to tell Yugi. He was the one who was the closest to him. He would understand and know what to do. Yami washed up, fixed his bed, and headed downstairs. He found Yugi making some breakfast in the kitchen.
"Good Morning Yami!" Yugi greeted him cheerfully.
"What's so good about it?" Yami replied agitatedly.
"Yami, is there something wrong?" Yugi said worriedly.
"Aibou, can I talk to you about something?"
"Sure, anything." Yugi said.
"Well..." Yami started.
"Wait! What time is it?" Yugi yelled out.
"It's 10 minutes to 11, why?" Yami answered.
"Oh my gosh! They're almost here!" Yugi yelled frantically.
"Aibou! Calm down!" Yami grabbed Yugi by the shoulders and shook him to calm him down. "Now, do you mind filling me in? Who's coming?"
"Oh, sorry Yami. It's just that I invited the gang over here for a sleepover. I guess I kinda forgot that today was that day." Yugi explained.
"I guess you 'kind of' forgot to tell me about this little engagement." Yami said sarcastically.
"Sorry Yami, I was going to tell you yesterday, but you were asleep on the desk last night."
"Speaking of which, can I tell you..." Yami tried to tell Yugi what he was tried to tell him earlier, until a knock at the door interrupted him.
"Hey Yug, let us in!" Joey yelled from outside.
"Coming!" Yugi ran down to the game shop, and opened the door. All of Yugi's friends piled into the room.
"Uh...Yugi?" Téa asked awkwardly.
"Don't worry Téa, you're not gonna be the only girl at this party. Mai and Serenity are coming too."
"Mai's coming?!" Joey asked wildly. "Tell me Mai's coming! Is Mai really coming?!" he grabbed Yugi by the collar of his shirt.
"Mai's coming! Mai's coming, OK!" Yugi said nervously.
"Well, where is she?!" Joey asked, slowly lowering Yugi.
"She's gonna meet us at the store with Serenity." Yugi said.
"What are we gonna be there for?"
"Well, I didn't know what kind of food you wanted, so I decided to let you guys decide."
So the gang went to the supermarket to get their food, and like Yugi said,
Mai and Serenity were waiting there for them. Not only that, but they did their shopping already.
"Hey guys." Mai greeted.
"Uh..hey Mai." Joey said with his cheeks slightly red.
"Hi Joey!" Serenity piped out.
"Hey, are we gonna stand here all day, or are we gonna get some food?" Tristan said impatiently.
"Dibs on the candy!" Yugi yelled out quickly, as he headed for the candy section.
"Dibs on the chips!" Joey headed for the chips section.
"I got dibs on the soda!" Tristan ran for the drinks section.
Mai sighed. "Boys will be boys..."
*~The party~*
The party was going really great. Everyone was having fun. They ate
their snacks, watched movies, staying up late, and talked a whole lot. The only thing that they didn't do was play....
"All right the game is called....Truth or Dare." Mai announced. "Okay, here's the idea. Someone picks truth or dare. If you pick truth, whoever picked you will you ask you a question and you have to answer it. But you have to tell the truth. If you pick dare, the person who picked you will give you something to do, and you do it. Seems easy, so let's play!"
"All right! I wanna go first!" Serenity blared out.
"Take your pick Serenity." Mai said.
"Okay, um I pick....you big brother!" she said pointing at Joey.
"All right. I pick dare." Joey said
"Joey, I dare you to...um. Oh! I got one! I dare you to take this fresh box of Red Hots, and uh, put them ALL in your mouth. And uh, eat them too."
"Good one." Tristan complimented. "Well, go on Joey. This box hasn't been opened yet." Tristan said as he handed him a box of Red Hots.
"All right! You wanna see me do it?! Fine! Give me that!" Joey grabbed the box. He opened it and dumped EVERY SINGLE ONE of them in his mouth. It didn't really seemed to affect him.....yet.
"Nothing's happening." Téa said.
"Aw. I wanted to see a volcano errupt in here." Tristan said, while taking out his camera.
"Hey Joey, you okay? You like kinda red." Yugi asked.
"Guys, I think the volcano's about to blow." Yami said.
Yami was right. At first, Joey seemed fine. Now, there was fire in his eyes and his face was completely red. He yelled out loudly and was gasping for air.
"WATER! GIVE ME WATER! I NEED WATER D*** IT!" he yelled frantically.
They all gasped in shock.
"Yes! I got it!" cried out Tristan who was still taking pictures.
"Joey! You're sister's in this room you know!" Mai said irritably as she took her hands away from Serenity's ears.
"WELL I'M SORRY! BUT I STILL NEED WATER!" he yelled even louder.
"Well here!" Tristan dumped a container of water on Joey's head. "That enough for ya?"
".....Yeah. Can we continue the game now?" Joey said a little mad.
"All right. Joey pick a victim." Yugi said.
"All right, I pick you Yug." Joey pointed.
"Me?" Yugi said nervously. "Well, okay. I'll pick dare too."
"Okay. I dare you uh...I know! I dare you to take this cup, and go walk out to your next door neighbor's house, in your pajamas."
"That's it?" Yugi asked.
"Hold on I'm not done. When you get to the house, you knock on the door. Someone will come out, and when he asks you what you want, you say that you wanna borrow an ice cube." Joey finished, laughing.
"What?!" Yugi asked puzzled.
"Here you go Yugi." Téa handed him a little cup. "Now don't forget to look cute!"
The rest of them were laughing uncontrolably. Yugi sighed, there was no other choice but to go along and do it. His friends gathered around the window and looked as Yugi walked to the neighbor's house, in his pajamas. He got to the door and knocked. When it was opened, he saw a VERY disgruntled man, it was obvious that he was sleeping peacefully, before he was woken up.
"What do you want?" he demanded angrily.
Yugi was slightly frightened. "Uh, well...I...um...I was wondering..." Yugi tried to get out the question, but he was too nervous.
"SPIT IT OUT!!" he yelled more angrier.
"Uh, I was wondering. C-could I borrow an ice cube?" he said holding out the little cup with shaking hands.
"Geez. You kids today..." the man said as he went into his kitchen to get an ice cube out of his freezer. "HERE!" the man dropped the ice cube into the cup. "Now GO AWAY!" he yelled into Yugi's face. "D*** kids....." the man mumbled as he went back upstairs.
Yugi went back into the living room where the party was. He came back with the ice cube in the little cup. The others were all laughing hysterically.
Yugi went red in the face. "Uh, can we go on now?" Yugi asked a little embarrassed.
"Sure. Pick someone Yugi." Mai said.
"Okay. I pick you Mai."
"Oooooh!" Serenity chirped.
"All right. I pick truth. Give it your best shot!" Mai said bravely.
"Okay Mai. Do you have a secret crush on anyone in this room?" Yugi asked in a sinister voice.
"Good one" Serenity laughed softly.
Mai looked around the room. "A crush?! On anyone in this room?! You gotta be kidding! No offense, but when it comes to romance none of you boys meet my standards." Mai stated.
"Whatever you say Mai. You may not show it, but there might be a chance that you made a slight crack in someone's heart. Who knows, it might break." Yami said as he winked at Joey. ^.~*
Mai's cheeks glowed a faint pink. "All right tough guy! I pick you! Truth or Dare?" Mai pointed at Yami.
"All right. I pick truth." Yami said. There was a buzz of talking in the back of him.
"Hmmm, this should be good. We hardly know anything about you." Mai said.
"Just get on with it."
"Okay! Okay! You don't have to rush! Geez! All right Yami. Here's the question. Have you ever kissed anyone before?"
"Uh..."
"It doesn't have to be from this time period. It can be from a time in the past you know." Serenity reminded him.
"C'mon Yami, we're all DYING to know!" Mai said dramatically. Yami looked like he was in deep thought. Suddenly, the vision of him sharing the kiss with the village girl.
"Well?" Mai said. "Did you or didn't you?" she said impatiently.
"I did." Yami said with his eyes on the floor.
"WHAT?!" they all yelled out at once.
"I did." Yami repeated.
"Really?!" Mai asked amazed.
"Yes. It was a long time ago. I-I loved her very much...."
"No way! What was her name?" Yugi asked curiously.
Yami felt tears welding up in his eyes. "I-I never found out her name...."
"Oh. That's so romantic, yet so sad! I think I need a tissue." Serenity said with big, starry eyes.
"Yami, you okay?" Téa asked gently.
"Huh? Yes, I'm fine. I'm just kind of tired." Yami said as he rubbed his eyes, which you all know it was not because he was tired.
"Well, if you're sure." Téa said.
"Say Téa, nice piece of jewelry you got there." Mai noticed the shiny necklace that she was wearing.
"Oh, I didn't show you?" she took the necklace from her neck.
"Wow, it's so pretty. I like the Egyptian symbols. I wonder what it says." Serenity looked admiringly at the jewelry. But when Yami heard the word 'Egyptian,' he became a little more interested in this discussion.
"Wait, this is real gold!" Tristan observed.
"Really? I didn't notice that. It's so weird. When I came home last night, I accidentally knocked some stuff off of my dresser. Then I saw it. I don't know how it got there, it was just there." Yami looked at the necklace. Then he saw another vision from his dream. It was the one when he was giving a gold necklace to the village girl. Téa's necklace looked exactly the same. Both were made out of pure gold and had the same Egyptian symbols on the front.
"Hey, is this party really that fun? Shouldn't you be getting some sleep?" grandpa was standing at the top of the stairs. Yugi looked at the clock.
"Whoa, you're right grandpa. It is getting pretty late. It's already 1:30 in the morning!"
"Of course I'm right. Aren't I always?" grandpa said cheerfully.
"Well uh...." they all said awkwardly.(T T;)
"Anyhow, upstairs everyone. Girls in one room. The rest of the guys on the floor of Yugi and Yami's room."
They cleaned up the living room and went upstairs. They said their good-nights, their sleep-tights, and you know the rest. Then they separated and went to their rooms for the rest of the night, wait it's the A.M., so it's morning. But it's dark out, so doesn't that mean it's ni- Oh! Forget it! >_< Anyway, Joey and Tristan were already fast asleep, and Yugi was just about to turn off the light, until he remembered something.
"Hey Yami, didn't you want to talk to me about something earlier?"
"Huh? Oh, no it's nothing. You can forget about it." Yami said.
"Okay. Good night." Yugi turned off the light.
Yami thought about what was going on in his mind for the past 2 days. The thing that mostly got to him was that necklace. Was it just a coincidence that Téa's and the one in the dream looked exactly the same? He wondered about things for a long time, until he fell asleep of course. Then there came another dream...
*~Ancient Egypt~*
It was just 2 days after the pharoah had gone to the shore with the girl from the village. He was a LOT happier than before. There was still a slight problem in this budding romance though. If anyone knew that the pharoah went out with a plain girl from the village, then it would humiliating to the Egyptian royalty. They haven't seen each other ever since that day.
"You, guard!" the pharoah demanded.
"Yes your Highness?" he bowed before him.
"I want to go out for a little fresh air. Tell my servants to have my carriage ready." the pharoah instructed.
"Yes sir!" he went to do what he was told.
A few minutes later, the pharoah was on his way through the city. It wasn't
long before the carriage reached the village.
"Stop here." the servants immediately came to a halt. The pharoah looked around, until....
(((CRASH!!!!)))
A big crash shook the ground. After that, came the sounds of screaming people. They were running all over the place, acting crazy over something.
"What's going on?" yelled the pharoah. Then he heard someone call out,"It's the Shadow Game! The monsters have come to life!" "Run for your lives!" another screamed. "Save the children!" a woman shouted. It was true. The Shadow Game HAD come to life, and now its monsters were attacking the kingdom. No one could stop their awesome powers.
"AAAAHHHH!"
The pharoah knew that voice. He turned to see Doma the Angel of Silence attacking the one he loved.
"Wait! Stop!" the pharoah jumped down from the carriage and ran to the girl.
"You're Highness, come back here, where it's safe." his advisors tried to warn him.
When he came over, Doma sensed a powerful force coming from the boy and quickly fled from the girl.
The girl gasped."Yami?" she quickly stood up and ran to him.
"Yami, what are you doing here?" she asked.
"I just had to see you again. Are you alright?" They embraced in a warm hug.
"Yes. Now that we're together again..." she smiled up at him.
They lips were just about to meet until,
(((BOOM!!!)))
A bright flash of light came out of nowhere straight at the couple. Just before their faces met, Yami had fallen into the girl's arms.......The blast had hit the young pharoah.
"Nooo! Yami!" the girl screamed with tears in her eyes. She looked at his face. He looked like he was in real pain.
"Quickly! We must get the pharoah to a doctor!" one of his servants directed. A servant lifted the pharoah onto his back and took him away from the girl's arms. They hurried to the palace in order to save their king. Yami slowly opened his eyes. He couldn't really see anything, it was all blurry to him. But he could still see pretty much what was going on. He couldn't let this go on any further. He concentrated carefully and suddenly the Millenium eye appeared on his forehead.
"I don't know how much power I have left, but I cannot bear to see this any longer. Shadow Game, I banish you!" There was a blast of white light and the monsters and magic of the Shadow Game disappeared.
The girl watched as her love was being taken away from her.
"Yami! Nooo! Yami!" she yelled after him with tears rolling down her cheeks. "YAMI-UHN!" Her yelling was cut short. Before all of the monsters completely disappeared, one last monster sent out a mighty blast of light. Which you may obviously know, hit her....
"C'mon! Let's get this girl to a doctor too!" said one of the pharoah's closest friends. Two boys lifted the girl up, and followed Yami's servants.
*~A few hours later~*
Yami was in his sleeping chamber, in his bed. He tried to get up slowly, but his injury was so painful. He winced at the pain and slowly lowered himself back down. He looked down at his abdomen. It was wrapped up in bandages, and there were spots of red on it from the blood. There was a small noise outside his door. It slowly opened and in came his love. The upper part of her body was wrapped in bandages as well. And it too, had spots of blood on it from her injury.
"Hello Yami." she said softly.
"Hello. Are you alright?" Yami asked weakly.
Her hand quickly moved to her side. She winced. "I-it's not that bad. I'm okay." she warily walked over to the one she loved.
"Does it cause you great pain?"
"No, not really." Yami then noticed sadness when he looked into those big, brown eyes. "What's the matter?"
"Oh, nothing. I-It's just that I'm afraid. I'm afraid th-that with these kind of injuries, one of us may not make it....Then we'll never be able to see each other ever again." She felt tears stinging her eyes.
"Don't say that! We'll both survive through these injuries.....together. No matter what the challenge, we'll always be together. Nothing will ever tear us apart." said Yami with a caring tone in his voice. She just stared into his loving violet eyes with amazement. "Yami...." She moved her face closer to his. He moved closer to her as well. Then their lips met as they shared a loving kiss, not knowing that it would be their last.
"I've done you the favor of telling you my name. Now will you tell me yours?" Yami whispered lightly in her ear.
"My name? Of course. My name is...." the girl tried to get the words out, but she just couldn't. "My name is...." Her eyes suddenly became wide, and slowly closed. It was the pain. The injury was too much for her. She just couldn't take it any more.
"What?" he saw his love fell into his arms. Her eyes were closed and she didn't seem to move. Then he realized that he had lost the one he loved. "No..." he lifted her up and layed her head onto his chest. Big tears were flowing down his cheeks. The crying made his pain worse. He swiftly brought his hand to where he got hurt. His eyes widened, then they slowly closed. The young pharoah fell over on his love. He did not move a single muscle after that.....
*~An hour later~*
It was mid-evening at the kingdom. All the citizens were gathered around the balcony of the palace. Their loud chattering came to a halt as soon as a member of the royal court stepped out. It looked like he was going to make an important announcement.
"People of Egypt! I have an important announcement!" he yelled out. (T_T See I told you) "Our great pharoah has just.....died. The audience gasped in shock. Some shed tears for him. Others fell to their knees. There were mixed discussions going on the crowd.
"Everyone. Please settle down."the advisor said to calm them down. "A young woman from your village was found dead with him."
"Well, I think that the girl must have killed the pharoah somehow. Then, she must have killed herself. She must have been crazy or something!" pointed out one of the guards. A majority of the crowd nodded and muttered in agreement.
"Wait! You don't understand! Let me just say something!" a blond boy came out through the curtains.
"Who are you?" the royal asked.
"Everybody! I'm one of the pharoah's best friends! I'm gonna tell you what really happened! The girl did NOT kill the pharoah! As a matter of fact the pharoah and the girl were in love!"
"In love?!" a guard yelled out, astonished. "That match is impossible! A pharoah and a plain girl from the village canNEVER be a couple!"
"You don't understand! The two freakin' loved each other more than anything else! They were meant for each other! They died in each other's arms D*** IT!" the boy protested.
"Alright. Let's ask the people. Who do you believe? My theory? Or the fantasy stories of this boy here, CLAIMING to be the pharoah's friend?" the advisor said slyly.
The people were chattering, until they made their decision."WE BELIEVE THE BOY!"
"What?!" the royal questioned.
"That's right! No one can not believe the power of LOVE!" a young woman yelled out from the crowd. The boy and the young woman looked at each other, faces glowing a bright red. The man on the balcony tried to find the right words to protest, but he gave up. There was no use trying, he was outnumbered. He sighed. "There will be a burying ceremony for the couple in a few days. You may all go now."
"AAAHH!" Yami immediately woke up from this horrible dream. His forehead was wet with sweat. He put his hand to his head. *I must be losing it.* he thought. Then he lifted up his shirt and looked down. He was just checking if his dream had actually happened to him. His chest looked fine. It wasn't harmed at all. Then, he had remembered. *Téa!* He jumped out of bed started to run for the door, until he almost tripped over something. He was so caught up with his vision, that he forgot that Joey and Tristan were laying on the floor of the room. >.< While trying not to step on them, Yami carefully and awkwardly made it to the door and into the hall. He slightly opened the door to the room where the girls were sleeping. He stepped inside quietly, in order not to wake anyone up. Yami looked around the room. They were all sleeping peacefully, especially Téa. Yami wasn't hurt, he just HADsee if she was hurt. Téa was sleeping with her back to Yami. Her shirt had rolled up and revealed some of her back. *She seems fine. I'm just going to make sure.* With his face flushing with a bright red, he lifted the shirt a bit more, to show her full back. It wasn't scarred at all. He put the shirt back down. Then she turned and her face met with his. The light and the shadowing made her face look very beautiful. *Such a pretty face.* Yami's face was still red as he moved closer to the sleeping girl's face. He was just about to place his lips on hers, when he spotted that necklace. When he saw it, he edged back toward the door. He was so confused. Yami silently closed the door.
"Hmmm. Since when do you go sneak into a room full of sleeping people? Who I might add are of the opposite gender." a voice said from behind him. Yami quickly turned around to Yugi standing there with his arms crossed.
"Well, I um...." Yami stuttered.
"Is there something that you wanna tell me Yami?"
Yami sweatdropped.^^; "Uh, Yugi. Isn't kind of late? Why not discuss later on during the day with the others?"
Yugi sighed. "Alright. I still don't understand, but we'll talk about it tomorrow morning during breakfast."
*~Later on~*
Everyone had woken up early that morning. Yami was eager to talk
to them about this problem. He wanted the whole thing to be over with and out of the way.
"All right Yami. We're all here. Now tell us what's bothering you." Yugi said.
"Okay. The thing is that I keep getting these...."
Yami was immediately cut off by a blast of blue light that cut through the living room.
(((CRASH!!!)))
When Yami opened his eyes, the entire room was full of blue smoke. "What was that?" He looked around for his friends. They were all lying on the floor. They had been knocked out by the blast. "Who are you? Show yourself!" Yami yelled through the smoke. The next thing he heard was the sound of evil laughter.
"Pharoah...." a mysterious voice whispered loudly.
"Who is that?" Yami couldn't see clearly through the smoke, so he couldn't tell where the voice had come from.
"Again we meet...."the voice breathed. At the sound of the voice, a black dome was closing over Yami. It cut him off from his friends.
"The Shadow Realm?!" he looked around at the surroundings. He was astonished at what he saw behind him. "Téa! It sucked you in too?!" she lay there motionless.
"Good to see you again, pharoah...." the strange voice said.
"All right, I've had enough of this! Come out and show yourself!" he yelled into the darkness.
"Why, pharoah, is that any way to greet an old friend?" a tall woman walked from out of the shadows and into the light. She had straight pale purple hair that stopped right past her shoulders. Her eyes were as blank as a piece of paper. "Hello pharoah...." she put on a fake smile. "What? Don't you remember me?" she asked sarcastically.
"Zaiya... What are you doing all the way in this time? I thought you were gone all those years ago."
"Well, you do remember your old friend."
"We were friends!" yelled out.
"Oh, by the way. Speaking of friends...."Zaiya said menacingly, while gesturing at Téa.
"Let the girl go! She has nothing to do with this! What's your problem anyway?!" Yami demanded.
"MY PROBLEM?! I'll tell you what the problem is! The problem is YOU!!!" she yelled accusingly.
"ME?! I haven't done anything to you!" he protested.
"I wanted to be the first female pharoah. ME YOU HEAR!? But YOU ruined it all for me! My father and your father made a deal before you were born. That if the queen didn't have a male, I would become the ruler! The first woman pharoah! BUT DID I GET MY WISH?!NO!!!!" She yelled with anger in her heart.
"Look I'm sorry that you didn't get what you wanted, but it wasn't exactly my fault!" Yami apologized.
"No Yami. I was hurt too much. I'll never be able to forgive you. And now you must pay!! You hear me?! YOU WILL PAY!!!" she yelled at him with little tears forming at the corners of her eyes. She sent off a blue blast from her gloved hand. Yami ducked down before it hit him. She growled in anger, then she tried it again. This time it was a little lower than before. Yami shielded Téa from harm's way, but the price was getting hurt himself.
"Zaiya, leave Téa out of this!" he warily got up.
"Shut up and fight me Pharoah! This is the battle that will end it all between us!" she paid no attention to Yami's request. She sent out another one of her beams. The ball of blue energy hit the former pharoah roughly.
"I'm not going to fight you physically." Yami said as he stood up.
Zaiya still had her arm raised, ready for another attack. "Then how do you suppose we settle our dispute?" she asked sternly.
"How about a duel? I hope you're still skilled at the Shadow Game as you were many years ago." Yami said, holding up his dueling deck.
Zaiya lowered her arm slowly. "Hmm. The Shadow Game huh? All right. Believe me pharoah, I'm still as good as I was when I last dueled you. It was a draw remember?"
"Yes, I remember." Yami just remembered that he had a duel with her long ago. "You were one of my toughest opponents."
Zaiya smiled sinisterly. She snapped her fingers and a whole dueling arena appeared out of nowhere. Both teens stepped up to their podiums and put shuffled their decks.
"Ready?" Zaiya said seducingly.
"Time to Duel!" both said at the same time. Without either of them knowing, they were being watched. Téa had woken up from her daze and had heard the arguement and seen the fight. She was still pretty dazed from her knock-out, and she didn't really understand what was going on. She kept watching as the duel went on.
"I put Celtic Guardian in attack mode!" Yami placed the card of the Celtic Guardian in position and the monster instantly appeared on the battle grounds.
"Hmm. Same as always.... I put the Doma the Angel of Silence in attack mode!" She put the card down and the demon emerged onto the battle field on the opposite side of the battle field.
Suddenly Téa felt a jolt in her mind. Then there was a vision. It was of the monster that the girl had just put onto the field. She just assumed that she was hallucinating.
"Celtic Guardian, ATTACK!" The Celtic Guardian moved swiftly at the Dark Angel and struck her with his sword.
"Hnh. That's just a test, now for the real thing. I'll lay this card facedown. My turn is over." Zaiya said smugly. "Let's make this duel a little more interesting. How about, if you win, I promise to release you."
"And the girl. If I win, you must promise to also release Téa. I'm not leaving without her."Yami said, his eyes on Téa. Téa blushed slightly.
"I agree to your demands pharoah. Now if I win, you must both stay here forever. And your so called friends' souls will remain frozen for eternity as well." she looked at her opponent with evil eyes. When Téa heard this, she wanted to tell Yami not to agree to this. But she was too late.
"I accept your demands Zaiya." Yami said couragously. "But rest to sure, I won't be defeated!"
"Of course you won't. You've never been crushed before. Oh! Wait! I seem to recall one time in which you were put down. And for the first and last time. You remember?....You and that girl. That girl from the village? Ring a bell? Oh, you know, the one who loved you so? Also, the one who brought the end to YOU!"
Yami grabbed his head and covered his ears. "NO! NO, YOU'RE WRONG! She never did that!"he couldn't duel anymore.
"She brought you down pharoah! She made you soft!" Zaiya now slammed her cards down, she now realized that she could defeat the young pharoah a completely new, and EVIL way.
"STOP IT!! STOP SAYING THAT!! IT'S ALL LIES!!" Tears were rolling down his cheeks as he fell to his knees.
"SHE PROBABLY NEVER LOVED YOU AT ALL! SHE JUST WANTED TO SEE YOU TAKE THE FALL! BUT SHE NEVER THOUGHT OF GETTING KILLED HERSELF!!" Zaiya enjoyed seeing the powerful former pharoah suffer. She snapped her fingers and the dueling arena disappeared.
"THAT'S NOT TRUE!! STOP LYING!!"
Téa was watching all of this with her eyes tearing. She hated to see Yami actually cry. It was too much for her. But then she remembered what Zaiya had been saying about this girl from Yami's time. It was obvious that Yami had loved her very, very much.
"Forget it pharoah. You lost. Just like you did on the day that the Shadow Game was released." Zaiya reminded Yami of that horrible day.
*The day that The Shadow Game was released?* She knew that she had nothing to do with it long ago, but it just seemed so familiar to her. *And what about that girl?*
"And you also gave her your necklace! That beautiful gold necklace with the writing on it. The one that your mother gave you when you were born!....Then she betrayed you...."
*A gold necklace with symbols on it?* Téa looked down at her neck. She saw the gleam of the necklace she wore. It was exactly like how the evil girl had described. *My necklace! It's exactly as it says in the description.* A vision popped up in her head. It was of a girl on a shoreline, looking at the setting sun. Her face was glowing a slight red. The girl was also with a boy. He wasn't just any ordinary boy. It was Yami! The girl and Yami had sharing a kiss. Then he had left and had given her a pretty gold necklace. Like the one Téa was wearing now.The next vision that she saw was of that horrible day. The day when the Shadow Game was released. Her eyes started tearing as she saw visions of the pain of the people. She had thought that was the end of the pain, until she saw Yami and the young girl perish....together.
"She betrayed you pharoah! That girl betrayed you! The one you thought that loved you! Now what was her name? Oh! That's right. YOU NEVER GOT HER NAME DID YOU?!" Zaiya laughed evilly at the sight of the cowering pharoah. Yami was crushed. He felt his heart break into a thousand tiny pieces. Zaiya hit Yami with another one of her hand beams.
"MY NAME IS TYPHILDE!" a voice yelled from behind. The two turned to see who had yelled out. It was Téa, she had woken up from her long daze. She had a determined look on her face. Suddenly, there came a bright yellow light, glowing from the necklace she wore on her neck. The light surrounded her and shone brightly. Yami shielded his eyes from the brightness. After the light had faded, it looked as if Téa had taken on a new form. Her modern-day clothing had turned into Ancient Egyptian garb and her feet were bare. Light shone on the golden necklace that dangled from her neck. Her big, beautiful, blue eyes suddenly turned into a stunning brown.
*Those beautiful brown eyes!* Yami gasped. "It's you!"
"What are you doing up?!" Zaiya hit Yami one more time and left him passed out for a while.
"Yami!" Typhilde felt anger in her heart. "YOU B******!" She ran at high speed, with her fists clenched, aiming for Zaiya. She tried swinging at her several times, but she just dodged every one. Instead, Zaiya had hit her, sending her to a wall next to where Yami lay. Typhilde looked up and saw Zaiya with her arm outstretched for the final blow. Typhilde lifted Yami up and rested his head on her chest. Warm tears were flowing down her cheeks, but she was still willing to fight.
"He saw you die. Now you can see him die!" The wicked girl's palm started glowing with an eerie purple light.
"FINE! Do what you want to us! But you still won't be happy! You don't have what we have! You never will!" Typhilde yelled forcefully.
"Really? What's that I may ask?" she asked sarcastically.
"Zaiya. What you will never have is FRIENDSHIP!"
"WHAT?!" Zaiya slowly lowered her arm.
"That's right! With your evil heart, you will never experience friendship!" she brought Yami closer to her.
"I NEED NO FRIENDS!"
"Then you always end up losing! With the combined powers of Yugi, Joey, Tristan, Mai, and Serenity,.....ME AND YAMI WILL DEFEAT YOU!!!"
Back at the normal world, their friends woke up from being knocked out at the sound of their names. Back in the Shadow Realm, the Millenium Puzzle and the golden necklace glowed with an incredible light.
"What is this?! NOOOO!!" Zaiya screamed as the light had vanquished her, along with the dark aura of the Shadow Realm. (Note: The real Shadow Realm wasn't not destroyed. Just Zaiya's part of the Shadow Realm was.) Afterwards, Typhilde found herself in a peaceful and light area. It was bright and serene. She still held Yami's close to her. She felt him wake up. He looked up at her.
"It was you all along...." he cupped her cheek in his hand.
"Yes...." she held his hand.
"Typhilde. After all those long years, I finally know your name. Typhilde I--" Before Yami could finish what he was saying, the girl had planted her lips onto his. Without even knowing, the peaceful background began to disappear. They were brought back to present time, in Yugi's rebuilt living room. Typhilde's Egyptian clothing had returned to their original modern-day attire.
"Awwww!" Serenity squealed with big starry eyes. The rest of them were bug-eyed. When Yami realized that they were being watched, he broke the kiss. The two teens were both blushing bright red.
"Oh, do go on!" Mai dramatically joked around.
Yami would have gladly did as she asked, but he felt so weak. He collapsed.
"Yami!" Yugi ran over to him to see if he was all right.
"Don't worry. He's gonna be okay. He just got into a little trouble in there." Téa said reassuringly.
*~A few hours later~*
Yami was alone in the room that he and Yugi shared. He was now awake from passing
out earlier. He was still somewhat weak from that battle with Zaiya. He heard a sound from outside his door. It slowly opened and Téa walked inside.
"Hi Yami" she said softly. "Are you alright?"
"Yes, I'm fine. How are you?" he said weakly.
"Fine. Yami, could I ask you a question?" she asked.
"Anything. What is it Typhilde?"
She walked up to the side of his bed. "Could you not call me Typhilde? I've gotten quite used to being referred to as Téa."
He smiled. "Of course,....Téa." There was a little moment of silence, until Téa said,
"Yami, I couldn't help but notice..."she started.
"Notice what?" he asked.
"Well, we went through this moment once before."
Yami thought for a while. "You're right. We did live this moment before......" They looked lovingly into each other's eyes and held their hands.
".....Only this time," Téa began.
".....We'll both live.....together." both finished at the same time.
*~The next day:Monday~*
As mentioned before, the gang had Monday off. So, they all decided to spend their
day at the boardwalk. Yami and Téa are now boyfriend and girlfriend and are very happy together. The gang played the games and ate out. They took pictures all over the place. The day was almost over and the most perfect thing to do to end their day was to stand on the shore and watch the sunset.
"Wow, it's amazing!" Mai said with awe.
"Remember this moment Téa?" The setting sun was exactly how Yami and Typhilde ended their date long ago. Téa nodded.
"Uh, c'mon guys. Let's uh, leave them alone." Joey said winking. ^.~*
They all headed for the game shop and left Yami and Téa alone. They looked in each other's eyes. No longer lost and lonely. They brought their faces closer and shared another loving kiss. Just like they did all those years ago.
Yugi sighed as he looked down at them secretly from on top of a sand dune.
*Love forgotten, now regained....*
*~The End~*
