Chapter 7

No Matter What

--------

"I don't want to see father's visitor though?" Jeto protested as Bast pushed him with one hand against his back.

Aurora walked ahead of them, sort of in an anxious pace. However, his face wasn't showing any of the enthusiasm his stride was carrying.

Jeto had noticed his older brother's behavior, but said nothing about it. It wasn't like him to show any concern for his eldest brother. Why should he?

Destin tried to keep up with Bast's step. The man took long strides as he walked, and it made it difficult for the shortest Kaiba to stay with the pace.

Aurora was the first to his father's office doors and waited for the others to catch up. He knew what would be waiting behind those doors. It was his second father. It had to be. He kept hearing from the employees that Joey Wheeler was returning today. Over all the excitement, he still kept his cool, not showing the thrill, which was obviously seen in his walk. Deep inside, he could feel the impatience of wanting his stubborn brother to stop being arrogant and his smallest brother to speed it up. He stood stalk still at the wide oak doors, waiting for his siblings and Bast.

Finally, the other three had caught up and waited for Aurora to open the doors.

The tallest teen took a deep breath as he reached forward with both hands and pressed them against the cold wood. With one shove, the doors flew open, a silent breeze rushing toward the desk where Seto sat.

They all piled into the room. Aurora looked invisibly hopeful, Jeto seemed jaded, and little Destin appeared curious.

Seto stared at all three of his sons in approval and then gazed to the right of them where his lover was standing silently behind the door. "I have a surprise for you all." Seto walked around to the front of his desk and nodded at Bast to close to the doors.

Bast did as told and stood off to the side, knowing that Joey was standing behind them.

Jeto was the first to notice the blonde teen that resembled him in an eerie kind of way. "What the…" He swore he could fell every inch of hair on his tail stand on end. It was like crossing a strange alley cat in his turf. "Who are you?"

^^^^^^^^

"There is something I'd like to share with you Joey," Seto whispered as he pulled up his pants and fastened them. He peered over at Joey, whom was cleaning up around the desk.

"What's that?" Joey asked, looking at his lover from over his shoulder.

Seto smiled surely and started helping the blonde teen pick up the discarded office supplies. "Remember how we always used to talk about adopting whenever we were to get married?"

Joey nodded, an expectant smile crossing his lip. "Yes I do. Why? Did you adopt a child for us?" He giggled.

Seto shook his head as he faintly blushed. "No. Actually, it's the exact opposite. I…gave birth to two of yours, Jeto and Destin."

The blonde teen paused in his reach for the paperweight and looked back at Seto. "You're…joking right?"

The CEO's face had become a darker shade of red as he shook his head. "I kind of wish I was, but I'm not. I'm dead serious. It's just something that started to take effect worldwide. Many men had become pregnant. I guess I was also selected out of millions."

"Is…it normal for men to give birth now?" Joey stuttered, still a bit bewildered.

Seto nodded. "Yes, quite common."

"H-how did I...you…get pregnant when I never even had sex with you?"

The CEO chuckled. "The physicians took your seed before they placed you in that chamber. I asked them if I could use it. Aren't you happy?"

Joey nodded slightly. He was happy, but still a bit overwhelmed that nature chose the stoic CEO to be a...mother. His eyebrow twitched when a picture of a pregnant brunet popped up in his head. "Oh…my…gawd!" He calmed himself before asking. "When you said, `I gave birth to two of yours,' what did you mean by that? You make it sound like you had someone else's."

Seto forced a small laugh. "Well…after you were put away, Alister had his way with me."

The blonde teen wasn't amused. "He tried to comfort you? Is that what you're saying?"

The man nodded reluctantly as he sat back on his heels. "I also had…two of his. Twins to be exact, Tet and Aurora. Alister and I parted after a while and he took Tet. I kept Aurora."

"Did you have any girls?"

Seto shook his head. "No. All of them are boys…even Alister's." The man sighed as he leaned forward and pressed his lips against Joey's left cheek. "I have to tell you something though. Aurora doesn't know that Alister is his real father. I've always told him you were his second father. I wanted to tell him when he grew older that you weren't his real biological father, but he started carrying a picture of you around, hoping you would come back someday. He knew you were in that hyperbolic time chamber. I couldn't bring myself to tell him. It hurt every time I saw him with that portrait of you. He's become too possessed with the lie."

Joey was quiet as he contemplated Seto's words. He looked up at his lover. "Tell me about my children. I want to know what they're like."

Seto smiled. He was pleased to hear Joey was welcoming the actuality that he had children. "Well, Jeto is the eldest of yours. He has cat ears, eyes, and a tail. His behavior swings between you and me, but he also has his own. Depends on the situation."

Joey mustered an eyebrow about his son having cat body parts. He shrugged it of, thinking the boy had a fascination with wearing a cat costume. He listened further to the man.

"He's sixteen and looks an awfully lot like you, only with aqua eyes and sandy brown hair." Seto paused for a moment, allowing Joey to drink in the information. "Destin is your youngest son. He's thirteen, has dark blonde hair, acts like you, has brown eyes, and wants to become one of my back up duelists. He's become very advanced in the game."

Joey smiled at the last bit of information. "He wants to be like you, huh?"

Seto shook his head no. "One of my high duelists has become his idol. Speaking of the devil, he's going to be here in a couple of minutes with the kids."

"Does he know about me?" Joey asked.

"Yes, he does. He knows you're going to be beside the wall next to the doors," Seto explained. "You better head over there now."

Joey nodded and did as told. "By the way. How old is Aurora?"

Seto chuckled. "He's eighteen."

The blonde teen gasped. "Damn! I have a son that's older than me...and he's not even my real son!"

"Don't worry, Joey. They'll like you no matter what."

"I hope so," Joey murmured.

^^^^^^^^

Joey stared at the neko, his eyebrows rose in shock. The boy had cat ears and a tail, just like Seto had said. Of course, he thought the CEO was talking about costume attachments. He wanted to blink, but it was so startling.

The ears flattened against the boy's head in irritation and his tail swished back and forth in annoyance.

"Uh…you don't know me, but I know you," Joey nervously chuckled.

The other Kaibas turned in Jeto's direction after hearing the voice.

Aurora's expression finally revealed itself as he looked on in wonder. He was about to cry when he saw the man that resembled the picture he carried. "Wow…its…our…father." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a locket that resembled Seto's own locket. He stared at the picture and then at the real live thing.

Jeto's ears perked to Aurora's words and stared at his brother dumbfounded. "What did you say?" He looked back at the blonde stranger. His tail lowered in apprehension. He started to feel humiliated that he was about to attack his own dad. "I…I'm sorry." He turned his head away, finding the floor very interesting.

"No harm done," Joey said and patted the other teen on the shoulder. "Seto's right. You are like me."

Jeto blushed.

"DADDY!" A loud yelp from the smallest Kaiba startled Joey and he was immediately pounced by said voice. "You're my dad! This is so cool!"

Joey had to release Jeto's shoulder and laughed. "You must be Destin." He hugged the pre-teen and then looked up at Aurora.

Jeto felt the blonde's hand replaced by someone else's who was stronger. He looked over his shoulder to see his father. They exchanged smiles. Jeto started crying and then fell into Seto's arms. "I…didn't mean…to."

Seto soothed his son by rubbing his back and kissed him on top of the head. "Shh, it's okay."

Destin released his tight grip around his dad's waists and allowed him to approach his eldest brother.

"You must be Aurora?" Joey asked, his tone softening in sorrow for the oldest teen. He opened his arms in a welcoming hug.

Aurora took the welcome and hugged him tightly, his fingers entangling into the white t-shirt, in fear he might lose him if it was a dream. "I've waited…for so long to see you."

Joey nodded against Aurora's shoulder. "Yes, I know you have." He noticed that the teen resembled Seto, only with waist length hair. However, his eyes were in the shape of Alister's. That didn't bother him though. He'd love the kid like his own son no matter what.
