Yugi is sick of being stuck in Yami's shadow. When Yami and Tea start dating, Yugi snaps...It had to happen.

Rated R for voilence, but could easily be a PG-13. I'm just covering my bases.

LastDj's Scratch: I don't own Yugioh. If I did, I wouldn't be writing fanfics for a website, would I?? :) And no, I don't agree with violence towards women...It just kinda happened...but that's another story...BTW, I use American names...it's what I know, but if yous out there prefer the Japanese names lemme know...k? On with the Fic!

"Welcome Home, King of Games!" Yugi can hear the crys and cheers of the crouds from inside Yami's head. There was a parade to welcome home the new Duel Mosters Champion of the world. Domino City's pride and joy. No one wanted to see him, of course...they wanted to see the man who beat Pegasus, and anyone else in his path, for that matter. He was the champion. HE was their prescious Game King. He was Yami.
The mayor had given the key to the city that day. For the life of him, Yugi couldn't figure out why. It was a silly, childish card game, for christ's sake; even Yugi saw that. And yet there he was, inside the head for a man who should have been Mumified centuries ago. And why the hell was he in Yami's head? It was his body to begin with...Yami just borrowed it to save the day. And pick up chicks. Yugi sat, alone in his soul room, once filled with toys and colour and innocence, now dark, torn...broken.

--

"Thanks for the ice cream, Yami! I had a lot of fun!" Tea smiled. This was their first time going out without Tristan and Joey.
"I had fun, too. Perhaps we should do this again sometime?" Yami smiled.
"Sure! I'd like that!"
"I'm sure you would, Tea" Yugi, still in his soul room, muttered. "Oh, Tea...Allow me..." He was mocking Yami now, fury filling his eyes and coursing through his veigns. "Perhaps we should do this again sometime... Never mind the kid stuck in my head...He'll get used to it. Isn't that right Yami? Wait till I get out of here and get my own girl, then we'll see how you like it!" Yugi had started yelling and was ignoring what was going outside. "One of these days, Yami, you're gonna be the one stuck, and maybe I won't wanna help, maybe I'll remember all the times you caged me and took the glory! Then what'll ya do? Huh?! Answer me!!" Yugi spun, his fury building. Busted toys and ripped up paper swirled around, a tornado of pure rage. It was what Yugi felt next that caused everything to drop: tingling in his fingers, heat in his cheeks, the softness on his lips...Yami was kissing Tea! His best friend was making out with his alter ego! Yugi felt everything the ancient spirit felt, and right now, he felt everything. He wanted to scream, but couldn't...he felt...nothing. The rage was gone. No hatred, no fury...nothing. Nothing.

--

Yami and Yugi had argued for hours after that. Yugi took off the Melenium puzzle in an attempt to shut Yami out of his head, but Yami used a spell he had learned to create another body for himself. He didn't use the spell often, as it took alot of magic and a lot of energy, but he could do it. Yugi was yelling something about Yami permanently having his own body: "Why the hell do you lug me around? You don't want me in your head anyway!"
Yugi screamed obscenities and Yami yelled back. Yugi threatened and Yami tried to talk some sense into him, albeit loudly. Then Yugi put his fist through the wall.
Both stood, shocked at the action. "Yugi...what...why...I..." Yami could say nothing. Yugi pulled his hand from the wall and stared at it. There was nothing, no pain, only an odd tingiling feeling. "what, Yami? what? You're sorry? Sorry you drove me to this? Or sorry you didn't leave me home while you stuck your tounge down my best friend's throat?" Yugi ran, blood still sliding down his battered hand, and got to the door before Yami caught up to him. Yami grabbed his arm and pulled, hard. Yugi spun, spit in the Phaero's face and left the house. Yami was left standing there in pure shock. Wipeing his face with his hand, he called Tea. Maybe she could talk to Yugi, Yami certianly couldn't.

Tea was in her room doing homework. She almost didn't hear the doorbell ring.
"Yugi! Hey...what happened?! Your hand! Let me help you..."
Yugi was lost when she let him in. His eyes, once shiney, bright and innocent, were now dull and blank. Tea closed the door behind him.
"Tea...I don't understand...You know about Yami, how we're connected...You know we're the same person. So, why? Why that side of me? Why didn't you ever come to me?"
Tea froze. She felt something...woman's intuition. And it told her that this was not a good situation.
"Yugi, I can explain...why don't we sit down, have some tea and talk about..."
"Sit? Talk? Have tea?" Yugi turned slowly, facing Tea. She could see rage in his eyes. She was terrified, not just because of the anger, but because it was Yugi.
"You think tea will make it all better? What is this, Fantasy land?!" Yugi slammed his hand down on the table. Tea jumped. The phone rang.
"Oh, Tea. I think that's your new boyfriend. To bad, eh?" Yugi picked up the phone and slammed it back down, edging closer to Tea. She was sobbing.
"Yugi, please, stop this. Please? Please!?"
Tea was now pressed up against a kitchen counter. She noticed the hand held phone sitting in it cradle near by...the phone rang again.
"Persistant bastard isn't he. Obviously something he didn't learn from me."
The phone rang again. Tea decided to be bold; her only chance to escape the boy's rath was to pick up that phone...
The second the phone was off the reciever, Tea was shoved to the ground. The phone dropped, and Yugi could hear Yami's voice on the line "Hello...Tea? Tea, are you alright?"
Yugi lost it. "Damnit, Tea! What was that for? HUH?!"
He slapped her, hard across the face. She screamed.
"You're so pathetic! He doesn't want you! I do, Tea! And you did this! How dare you?!" He grabbed her by the hair, pulled her upright and looked her in the face. Tears streaked his hot cheeks, but the fury was still there. The phone was emitting a dial tone now.
"Tea, I loved you. You don't even care, do you? You never did, and now that there's him, big-shot celebrity over there... Look at me!" Yugi yanked her hair back, forcing her to look into his eyes. She screamed, and Yugi slapped her again. This time, when she looked back, her cheek was purple and her lip was split. He pulled his hand back and made a fist, prepared to punch the girl in the face, but looked into her eyes. That was when Yugi realized what he'd done. He had just beaten his best friend, his secret crush, and his counterpart's first love. "Oh, Tea...I..." Neither heard the door open.
Yami burst in, frantically lookng for Tea and her assailant. When he saw Yugi there with Tea, his hand still knotted in her hair, his hand poised frozen as if to strike again, the Ancient soul lunged, knocking Yugi to the ground. Yami grabbed Tea and pulled her close, holding onto her as hard sobs racked her bruised body. She collapsed into his arms. Yami turned to look his former innocent in the eye...but he was gone. Yugi had already taken to the streets, his whole body numb from the reality of what had just happened. He knew what he had to do.

*My friends...What friends I have left. I'm sorry for everything I've done. I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused, and I'm sorry that I've let you all down. There is no excuse for my actions, and all I can do now is leave.*

Yami opened the door to the turtle shop. He had finally completed the spell to have his own body so he could be at the hospital with Tea, but it only lasted while he had the Millenium puzzel on. He still lived within the puzzel. He looked tired, weiry. He entered the Turtle Game Shop late that night, after being in the hospital with Tea all day. He looked up to see Grandpa Mouto staring at a letter. Grandpa looked up at the older boy, his face showing complete shock and sadness. Yami raised an eyebrow in confusion. "He's gone, Yami. My boy is gone."

*I don't know where I'll go, but all I know is that I can't stay here. Please, tell Grandpa that I'm sorry. I will write to him when I can, and maybe somehow explain all this. Tell Joey and Tristan that they may have my duel monsters cards. I cannot play the game as a coward. Tell Tea...*

Tea sits alone in her hospital room, looking out the window. Joey and Tristan had just left with Yami; aparently he had something to tell them. Yami came back in alone. She could see sadness in his eyes. No words were spoken as Yami handed Tea the letter.

*...Tell Tea that I will never hurt her again. I will never return to Domino City. She is safe now that I am gone. I cannot explaine the anger I felt, but I had no right to take it out on her. I will never forgive myself.*

Tea began to cry again. Yami held her in his arms as he read the end of the leter one last time:

*Tell Yami that I can no longer be his light. I can't imagine him wanting me to be. Tell him that I wish him happieness and that I will live forever with the weight of what I have done. Tell him that he is a better man than I will ever be.*

A train is departing Domino Station, Destination: Tokyo. The Spikey haired boy sat alone near the window, staring at a plane ticket: "ONE-WAY: TOYKYO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO TORONTO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT..." He knew people in Canada, friends who knew nothing of his past. The train slowly left the station.
