Gone

Chapter two

Me: Hey everyone! I'm finally updating. *sweatdrops* I'm sorry for the loooooooong wait! I had a major case of writer's block! From now on I will write back and/or thank my loyal reviewers. I couldn't thank you enough! You give me the self-confidence I need to keep writing!

Malik: Just get on with the story, nitwit.

Me: I'm getting there! Say the disclaimer, and then I can get to the reply thingies! ^__^

Malik: Fine. DogsruleW doesn't own Yugioh, okay? She never did and never will! >__<

Me: Thank you! Now for the replies:

Amethyst Sin and Yami Phiona: I'm finally ready to continue this! I'm SO sorry for the wait! I just . . . didn't know what to do! I tried writing the next chapter several times but it never worked out! >__<

Silver Dragon: Ugh. You didn't figure out who's gone? Guess I'm not as good a writer as I thought I was . . . well, you'll find out in this chapter.

Spirit- Chihiro: Thank you for all the compliments! I could never have continued this without reviewers like you!

Supergill: Hi! Thanks for reading my story even though I don't think you watch Yu-Gi-Oh. I can't believe I took so long to update!!!

Yamicat: I know, Yugi is so sweet and innocent isn't he? Poor Yugi . . . anyway, thanks for the review and the compliments! ^__^

KaTyA: I like how you make your name all funny, with some letters capitalized and some lowercase . . . anyway, thanks for the review! I hopefully will not have this long of a wait for the next chapter! If you have any ideas for this story, you're welcome to e-mail me! ^__^ (I love that face . . .)

Cettie-Girl: Thankies for the review and compliments! I hope you like this chapter!

Okay, there are the replies. Now, on to the story!

Yami held the sobbing Yugi in his arms, trying to comfort him. He slowly rocked him back and forth, hugged him and encouraged him. He tried to talk to him, but nothing seemed to get through. He tried questioning about the note, but then thought that Yugi probably didn't want to talk about it right then, so decided against it. He loved the feeling of Yugi's warm body against his . . .

Wait a minute, Yami thought, What am I thinking? Yugi is my hikari and friend, nothing more. Continued to rock and shush Yugi, until finally the sobs started to die down. The two sat there for a minute, just savoring the feeling of the other's body being so close. Yami blushed, and turned to his aibou. Yugi seemed calm enough, so he decided to question about why he has been crying so hard. What could have caused him that much pain? Yugi was a "softie", and easily got hurt or sad, but he had never seen him this broken up before.

Shifting slightly, Yami readied to question his hikari. His heart was beating so hard; it threatened to burst through his chest. Wait, he thought, why am I so nervous? It's just Yugi. It's not like he's going to hurt or make fun of me or anything like that. So why am I this nervous? Yami shifted nervously some more, causing Yugi, who was in his arms, to look up.

"What is it Yami?"

"Nothing, aibou. I just want to ask you something."

"Well, what is it?"

"Well . . . what were so upset about a few minutes ago?" Yami asked.

"Um . . . well . . . when I got home from school yesterday afternoon, I was home alone as usual. Mom usually leaves notes on the refrigerator about what chores I have to do, when she'll be back, to call her and a bunch of stuff like that. But this time I found this note on the refrigerator." Yugi explained. He held out the note he had found to Yami, and at the same time he was obviously holding back more tears.

Yami took the note and started to read it. It said:

Dear Yugi,

I love you, I really do. I've had

great experiences with you. Remember

when we went to the park that one day,

in June, and went swimming together?

And we splashed each other with water,

and went to the park together. That was

where you first learned to ride a bike. We

had a great time that day. But times have

changed. The economy is horrible, and

All of our stocks are going way down.

If we had any more money in the bank,

we'd be broke! The money that your father

and I are bringing in is barely enough to

cover the basics for the two of us, let alone

a growing boy. Neither of us could bear

seeing you grow up all skinny and weak,

we wouldn't be able to afford for you to

go to school! So we've decided that the best

choice would be to leave you here. Please

don't think of it as abandoning you. I love

you so much, I can barely bear to make

this choice. But I know in my heart that

it is the right one. Your grandfather will be

coming around 5:00 to live with you. I

hope that you live long and prosperously

with him. I will remember you forever.

Love,

Mom

Me: Haha! Cliffhanger! Kind of . . . well, close enough!

Malik: You're so pathetic. -__-

Me: Well, excuse me, I just updated a story that you said would never get updated! So there!

Malik: -__-

Me: Review please!!! ^__^
