Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Goodbye Puppy ❯ Chapter 1

“Shut it, mutt.”
Kaiba mentally cringed; why did he do that? The boy hadn’t said a word to him and he just snapped at the golden-eyed male. As if the atmosphere wasn’t thick enough from the night before. ‘Why on earth did I say that to him?’ Kaiba asked himself, although, head already knew the answer really. He said it to protect himself. He said it in fear that the blonde would somehow use his actions against him.
That was the first exchange between the pair. Young Joey had ‘innocently’ strolled in the room ‘unknowing’ that Seto Kaiba was in there. He spotted the brunette and was opened his mouth to give a ‘friendly greeting’ and was instantly silenced with a crude comment. Of course, this caused Joey to instantly retaliate whilst flushing and unhealthy red in anger. Joey had done nothing wrong! Kaiba was just being a jerk! Joey quickly reminded himself that Kaiba was always a jerk; this was merely his way of saying hello. But Joey had figured things had changed after last night, he was such a fool, and Kaiba would not change after one night, he wouldn’t change fully stop. Joey found himself struggling to come to terms with that. It still didn’t stop the blonde from answering him back; it was like clockwork to him. They argued every day; today was no exception. After all, Kaiba said the insult first. It was his duty to answer him; he simply wouldn’t be a man if he didn’t. It had nothing to do with the fact that Joey felt like he had to prove himself to the brunette.
“Why doncha come over ‘ere and make me, moneybags?” Joey snarled whilst standing up and kicking his chair back.
Seto snickered. ‘My, what an imaginative reply.’ The brunette thought amusedly. Of course, the Seto Kaiba showed none of his amusement in his body language, nor his facial expression. How can you strike fear into those who know you have weakness? Weakness being emotions that exclude anger and loathing. The brunette smirked; the mutt was really loosing his touch. The last time the mutt had offered Seto to ‘make him’ do something; the boy ended up with a swollen lip and a very nasty black eye. Kaiba didn’t move a muscle; he just looked up at the boy with a blank expression.
“Because if I come near you, I’ll get fleas.” He said calmly, as if it were the most obviously thing in the world.
Joey’s actions switched from a defensive retort to a twisted anger. The blonde was now fuming, his eyes hurling a malicious glare in Kaiba’s direction. This obviously had no effect on the young owner of Kaiba corp. But the kid got points for trying didn’t he? Though, through Kaiba's eyes the ‘malicious glare’ was more like a gentle tickle. In fact, he’d encountered lumps of wood that had a nastier glare than that. Yet, Joey still remained unnerved by Kaiba's blank stoic stare, and continued ‘glaring’ at Seto. The brunette had had enough and rolled his eye whilst muttering a dark. “Jesus, Wheeler. Stop glaring before you hurt yourself.”
Without a doubt, this action had caused Joey to grow even angrier. Seto’s cold, sapphire blue eyes locked on Joey before he closed his laptop and got up to leave. ‘Stupid mutt. Down boy, these pants are new, I do not want you making them unclean, you hear?’ He thought as Joey leapt in front of him, blocking his exit.
“Listen, pretty-boy. Take a step of the royal asshole podium and talk to me for a second wouldya... I need to talk to you.” He snapped, his golden-brown eyes ablaze in anger and… was that anxiousness Seto detected there? Seto felt himself feel a little sympathetic for the boy, was he intimidating him? No sooner than the thought crossed his mind, he had already mentally stamped on it, set it on fire and watched it burn. He would not feel sympathetic for the mutt. If he felt intimidated it was his problem, not Seto’s. Emotions-are-weakness.
“Big words for such a stupid runt, don’t you think?” He snapped. Joey eyes reflected a flash of hurt. But the second later it had gone, only determination could be seen in the depth of those golden eyes. Joey scoffed, thinking how he needed to tell Kaiba about last night and how he felt about it. Seto rolled his eyes. The mutt had nothing important to say… Seto headed toward the door, he brushed past Joey, whom instantly turned round and called him back.
“For fuck sake! Seto! Just let me say what I have to, then I’ll leave!” He said exasperatedly. Seto spun on his heel and raised an inquisitive eyebrow. Waiting for the blonde to speak.
“Well come on then mutt. I have a meeting soon.”
Joey took in a shaky breath, before speaking.
“It’s about last night.” He started. Instantly Seto panicked. He knew what this was about. Inwardly, he cringed and cowered away from Joey. Both of the two had gotten severely intoxicated and ended up in bed together. The strangest thing was, Seto didn’t have any regrets and was questioning himself about his relationship with Joey. Should he ask him out? Should they stay the same bitter rivals? Could they be friends?
But the second Joey had said those words; he knew that the boy regretted it. Seto felt himself become emotional. ‘Emotions are weak. They’re plain weak!’ But even through his imprinted messages about emotions, images of Joey still flashed through his mind.
Hot skin sensually rubbed together. Sweat forming on both their bodies. The scent of raw, hot passion stung the air. A soft moan and the sounds of heavy breathing…
It was becoming clear now.
Teeth softly bit into soft creamy white skin at the juncture of his neck, almost like an animal marking their mate. A tongue gently massaging the bruised skin.
This wasn’t just intoxication.
Fingernails dug into his skin, leaving red marks, blood oozing out slowly. But the pain didn’t matter; all he could feel was the bliss of the taste of his mouth.
It was… love? Seto could love? No! Not Joey Wheeler! He hated the boy! Yet, all he wanted to do nothing more than kiss him.
A soft moan could be heard, the only thing they could hear each other’s deep breathing and pleasured sounds. The blonde tilted his head back in pleasure, an orgasmic sensation shook through his body. His back arched as the dominant male began to increase speed. A frantic scramble ensued. Every passing second made each movement become more of a desperate rush for release. The blonde bucked his hips. Causing the brunette to gasp and thrust harder. The blonde let out a muffled cry of pleasure as his vision blurred and his world came crashing down into a utopia. The boy released, bringing the other crashing down with him.
Was it mere lust? It didn’t feel like it. But, it’s Joey Wheeler for god sake! How can it be love!
His beautiful puppy lay beneath him. Breathing softly, his eyes fluttered shut, blonde strands of hair fell on the boys face. Making him seem so innocent. His puppy’s body was covered with sweat, his naked chest against Kaiba’s, raising and falling rhythmically. Seto gently stroked his soft golden blonde hair in a loving way, a contented smile on Kaiba' lips.
Seto knew then, without a doubt, that he liked the boy, no loved the boy. It was really true; there is a fine line between love and hate.
Joey hesitated.
Joey was going to say it was a mistake! He didn’t feel the same way! He was going to say he regretted it! Joey looked up at Seto, whom had an unreadable expression on his face. “It was-”
“Something that shouldn’t have happened. We were both drunk. Lets just leave it at that.” Seto finished for him, sounding very snippy.
With that Seto briskly walked out, his eyes reflecting no emotions. But a single stray tear rolled down his porcelain white cheek, hastily Seto wiped it away, Seto stopped once he was down at the other end of the corridor, he turned abruptly and spoke softly.
“Goodbye… puppy.”
With that. Seto left.
Joey stood in the room, alone, with a look of heartbreak etched on his face.
“-The best night of my life.” He finished brokenly. His voice wavering slightly. His eyes watered and he fell to the floor. Silent sobs wracking his body.
Though the teen did stop crying abruptly, his breath hitched, when a whisper in his ear, that could have easily been the wind, seemed to speak softly in his ear.
Goodbye… puppy.
