Chapter One: Hieroglyph's on the Door

-----------------------------

Several years go by and of course everyone grows up and moves on. Strangely Anzu and Honda are happily married, so are Shizuka and Otogi. While Ryou, Yami and Marik are with Yugi's grandfather studying together in Egypt. Even stranger is the fact that Malik and Mai are married.

Yugi, Jonouchi and Kaiba all live together at Kaiba's mansion and they all work in different areas of the Kaiba Corporation building. Yugi works in research and concept development. Jonouchi works in the technology and testing center, still a big kid at heart. Kaiba well he still runs the show, but has relaxed quite a bit with the help of his two loves.

Mokuba has grown, surpassing his own brother's 6ft and topped him at 6ft 2in. Now the ongoing joke in the Kaiba mansion is `Big Brother's not looking down on you because Little Brother is'. His black hair is now cut in the shaggy resemblance that our favourite blond who no longer sports it that way because he'd let his grow long. I guess you could say they traded styles.

"Mokie hurry up or you'll miss your plane."

"Yes, Katsu-chan," sighed the young man's emotive gray-blue eyes looking at the dark amber ones of one of his brother's loves. Katsuya wrapped the boy in a brotherly hug and stepped back a bit, looking up, nodding in understanding.

"He's right you know. You don't want to miss your plane."

"I know Yugi-chan," he said turning to the other love of his Big Brother, hugging the smaller man with the deep violet eyes. Yugi stepped away and moved to stand by Katsuya, wrapping his small arms around the waist of his best friend-lover, tears forming in his eyes.

Mokuba turned to his Big Brother and hugged him hard. "I'll be back for Christmas," he promised.

His older brother hugged him back. "You'd better," he said watching his little brother walk through the security point and on to his plane, no emotion showing on his face, but his deep blue eyes were turbulent.

Seto didn't want to break down at the airport because it was a stupid sentimental thing to do; besides Yugi was crying for him already. He waited until they got home and went to his room to pour his sappy heart out into the silence of a room the echoed with the words and comforts of their past.

Yugi and Katsuya watched silently for about 5 minutes before joining him on their bed, wrapping their arms around him and each other. They too remembered the little hairball's antics and attempts to get his brother out of bed.

They were also reliving their own memories when Yami moved away to be with Ryou and Marik. Shizuka going to college and marrying Otogi. Anzu and Honda developing a taste for New York and moving there.

It was Mokuba's turn. He had been free to learn whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. He has now decided that he wanted to go to Oxford University to become a professor of History and Literature.

Something that had been dwelling in him for a while, but he didn't want to learn these things close to home because he wanted to be closer to the places where history took place.

-----------------------------

Mokuba made his way through the security point, looking back once and waved to his family. He smiled a bit to himself knowing that his brother will be fine with the help of Katsuya and Yugi. `Now will I be fine?' he asked himself.

The trip was long and he was near exhausted when he stepped off the plane. There was someone waiting at the airport with a placard, `Mokuba Kaiba'. He guessed that he will have to get used the way his name would be written and spoken in this country. Walking up the young man he said in carefully studied English, "I am Mokuba."

The other person, a young man looked him over quickly once and said, "Welcome to England, mate. My name's Jay Ray Jackson. Call me Jackson." Holding out his hand in a friendly manner.

Mokuba was used to this because he had traveled with his brother on business a few times. "Mokuba," he replied and shook his hand in return.

"OK. Follow me I was told the you'd be here. I'm your temporary guide because I was bored and curious about you."

Mokuba looked down at Jackson curiously, "What do you mean by that? I thought that someone from the university was doing airport runs to pick up students that would be staying in the dorms."

"You do seem to know what you're talking about," Jackson responded. "You were the only pick up for today and I was curious because you're room assignment is with our resident pain in the ass."

Mokuba took a moment and realized that he needed to know and let Jackson know that he had a sense of humour, "Figuratively or literally a pain?" he asked. His smile showing that he didn't care which, but that he also didn't care about stuff like that. How could he, when his own brother had fallen in love with two men and they loved him back.

Jackson now knew that Mokuba was a `good egg', smirking back at the tall youth he replied, "It depends on your point of view. I some who would actually say literally. You may as well know that guy's kinda nuts. He hates having roommates, but this year he's got no choice. I hope you'll be OK."

Mokuba just chuckled at that getting a chuckle from Jackson. The made their way to the dorms and ride confused Mokuba to no end. `We're on the wrong side of the road,' was the phrase that kept running through his mind.

Once they arrived, they went through the process of checking in and Jackson was giving him a running commentary of the whose who in the dorms. He also told him that his room mate currently in the historical and linguistics programs. "Well I'm warning you about the language thing. He likes to swear in several languages, not at people but at machines mostly." Mokuba raised an eyebrow the perfect imitation of Kaiba Seto.

"We get the feeling that he's slightly techno phobic. He does have a computer in your room because he likes to keep in touch with his relatives. I think that's all he knows to do, beside word processing. Here we are."

Mokuba looked at the door to his room. Room 513. The door was nearly covered in messages and post-its. Something looked like a regular nameplate, but it was made of wood and the name that should have been written in English was written in Egyptian hieroglyphs. `T.R. Bakura'.

`T.R.' Mokuba thought. "What's it say?" he asked playing dumb. `If Bakura was his roommate now he was in for it now.'

"Oh, it say T.R. Bakura," replied Jackson. "T.R. has never told anyone what that meant. In fact remember the pain in ass comment?" Mokuba nodded for Jackson to continue, "Well like I said this guy's kinda bonkers, he has an ongoing dare with the dorm monitor."

Mokuba raised his eyebrows, `Damn Bakura is still into that stuff'. "What kind of dare?" Pushing the door open he saw that the room was really tidy. "Tidy!" he said.

"If anyone assigned as his roommate could figure out T.R.. What the T.R. in his name means. If they don't the assigning monitor has to clean this room and the roommate has to be T.R.'s servant (coughcough)." Jackson explained, the coughing a dead give away to the kind of servant the Bakura gets. "Depending on if the roomie wants to figure out T.R.'s name in the first place. He goes through a new roomie almost every semester and the guy's been here about 2 and half years."

"Well I don't think that I'm going to have that problem," Mokuba stated calmly. "Where is he now?"

"You get a break this semester. He went to visit his brother in Egypt, but he did say that he would call to find out if you wanted in on the dare or not. Be warned he'll can unexpectedly and probably rope you into it. He's very sneaky," Jackson stated.

Mokuba caught the way the other was reflecting back into his past thoughts and realized something, "Caught you a verbal trap, ne?"

Jackson blushed and nodded. "I am happily in another relationship now though." He looked at the new student and he felt the confidence radiating from him. "Are you going to try to figure out his names?"

Mokuba smirked, "Oh I think I can try. Say what happens if the he loses?"

"Well the ongoing dare is over and the dorm monitor, no longer has to maintain Bakura's room and Bakura has to (coughcough) submit to his roomie's every wish. Uh, outside class times, of course."

"Of course," Mokuba nodded. "Well I have one request from you and everyone here." When he had Jackson's attention, "Call me Mo and tell the others to do the same. Don't tell Bakura my full name either and I will win this."

"He'll be back in a couple of months, in the mean time Welcome to Oxford."

"Thanks," as Jackson left the room. Mokuba began unpacking, smirking at the things he could have that Tomb Robber to do.
