"Finally! What a beautiful day! It's not raining for once!" Anzu cried, almost making the rest of our eardrums burst. I cringed at her high-pitched squealing, tensing my ribs unconsciously, making them hurt to a certain degree.
It was last period, and we were all on our way to our home classes. I was in Jou's, Ryou's and Yugi's home class. Tristan and Malik were in separate home classes. We made our way to our home room and took a seat. Our home class teacher, Miss. Keziaki was writing a couple of notes up on the board. The bell rang and the class settled.
"Now class, as you know, it is almost spring; and that means that school camp is soon approaching. This year you will be going to the northernmost island of our country - Hokkaido. You will spend a week in an isolated town on the east coast of Hokkaido called Shiranuka. It is an old Japanese fishing village. Now here, take one of these sheets. I'll need you to fill them out and have your parents or guardians sign them." Miss Keziaki came around and handed us each all a sheet. I scanned my eyes over the sheet - it was pretty advanced stuff. I filled it in, and by the time I had finished, this is what it said:
Full Name: Shika Lotus Faith Haadimaal (A/N: More about her name soon, keep reading)

Parent/guardian signs here:
I finished filling out my form and read over it once or twice. I glanced over at Ryou, who was chewing on the end of his pencil. Jou was scratching the back of his head with his pencil and Yugi was twining his blonde bangs around his pencil. What was it with guys and pencils? Ryou suddenly glanced back at me and smiled.
"Can I read what you put down?" he asked.
"Sure. But only if I can read yours." I chuckled. He grinned and we swapped papers. This is what Ryou's form said:
Full name: Ryou Renjiro Bakura
Age: 16

Please state any Medical Conditions or Allergies here: Allergic to Morphine and some types of general anesthesia.
Please state any disabilities here: None
Your current parent/guardian's name: Afet Haadimaal

State here your reason to come on this camp: I'm here as an exchange student, so I believe it will be a new and exciting experience for me.
Fears: Heights and small spaces (claustrophobia)
Parent/guardian signs here:
"Hey I didn't know your middle name was Faith." Ryou said, handing back my form.
I shrugged. "I don't really know where it came from, but my Mom liked it. She also decided to put Lotus in my name too because she saw a whole field of blue Lotus flowers covering a shallow part of the Nile River in Egypt on her trip there. She said it was the most beautiful sight she had ever seen." (A/N: Lotus IS an official Egyptian name, look it up!)
Ryou's gaze lured to the ground. "My mother's name is Faith…"
I gasped. "Really? Wow! I never knew…" I said, trying to sound cheerful.
He smiled back at me, but we sat silent as Miss. Keziaki cleared her throat and scowled at us for talking. I gazed over at Jou and smiled. Deciding to space out for a while, while my demented class finished off their forms, I pictured what Jou would have put down on his paper: Jounouchi Kin* Katsuya, 17, January 25th 1986, American, Christian, allergic to starvation [authoress giggles], no disabilities, Chris Katsuya (father), 555-6370, "I'm here so I can get outa school and pig out on camp food and perve at all the girls in their bathing suits!" [authoress giggles, again], (fears) spiders, starvation, getting expelled and riding behind Tristan on his motorbike.
I laughed mentally to myself; Jou's paper would look similar to that anyway. I was startled out of my own little world by Miss. Keziaki speaking up out loud to the class.
"Finally, I would like you to all think about pairing up with someone for the week at Shiranuka. You have a couple of days to sort this over - you may pair up with someone from other classes if you wish. The entire 12th grade will be traveling together. More information will be given out tomorrow. For now, just make sure you come back tomorrow with those forms signed and handed in. You are dismissed."
I put my books back in my bag along with my folded up form and struggled to get up on my crutches, nearly losing my balance and falling flat on my back. However a familiar strongly-gripped arm yanked at my wrist before I could fall. I looked up at Bakura.
"Bakura, get back in the ring before anyone sees you!" I whispered.
He smirked and pulled me into a hormone-driven kiss right in front of my home teacher. She gasped at me in awe before Ryou was given his own body back. We both suppressed a fit of laughter as we glanced at Miss. Keziaki, blinking with her mouth slightly open as we left our homeroom.
As I walked out into the lockerbays, I noticed Jou talking to Kaiba, obviously discussing that they would be paired together for school camp. Anzu was talking to one of her blue-haired friends, Miho. Looked like Tristan and Malik were paired up, Yugi was going with Yami (A/N: Let's just pretend that Yami is a student at Domino studying English or something…) and I was obviously going with Ryou.
On my way home, Bakura materialized beside Ryou and walked alongside us. He was usually doing this lately. But to have him come out of his ring during school was unusual. We walked home in silence, not that it was awkward. When I got in the door, I saw that my mom was already home. Bakura disappeared into his ring; my mom didn't yet know about him.
"Darling, I've got some exciting news!" she said, suddenly getting to her feet.
"Oh yeah? What's that?"
"Well, for starters, the hospital rang and they said that tonight you can go and get your bandages off from around your ribs and the doctors want to remove the stitches from underneath your eye! The second part of the news is that your grandpa is fighting his cancer and he's probably going to pull through!"
"Oh… that's great, mom."
"You don't sound too ecstatic…"
I shrugged and put down my bag on the couch nearby. "Guess I'm just nervous about what my face will look like. Here, sign this form. It's about school camp." I said, fishing my camp form out of my bag.
My mother ran her eyes over it and grabbed a pen, scribbling down her signature at the bottom. "I wonder how you're going to get to Shiranuka… that's an awful long way from Domino, honey."
"We'll probably take the train or something." Ryou chimed in.
"Yeah. Anyway, what time do I have to be at the hospital?"
"I'll drop you there about eight. It shouldn't take too long for you to get all fixed up." my mother replied. "Would you like me to fix you something for dinner?"
I shook my head. "I'm not hungry." And walked off to my room.
"Now there's a change." My mom said to herself.
I opened my bedroom door and paled at the sight of what was sitting on my bed. Then I screamed. Really, really loud. Ryou jumped back as I went screaming back down the hall to the living room, my arms up in the air sailing behind me.
"WHAT IN THE NAME OF SWEET ISIS IS THAT THING DOING ON MY BED?!" I yelled at my mother, who was unaware of what was going on.
"So that's where he got to…" she said, rolling her eyes and making her way down the hall to my bedroom where Ryou looked totally mystified. I followed warily behind her.
"Rai bought you a… pet. He came around about lunch time today with him." My mother said, picking up the lizard off my bed gently. It climbed up on her shoulder and rested behind her neck. It looked almost more scared of me than I was of it.
"You call THAT a PET?! Pets are supposed to be fuzzy little kittens or puppies or even goldfish! A LIZARD is not a pet!!" I shrieked.
My mom stroked the lizard's scaly green tail which was hanging over the front of her shoulder. "His name is Harry. He's a Green South American Iguana and he's harmless. He won't bite and he'll more than likely want to cuddle you more than anything else."
I rolled eyes and folded my arms across my chest. Ryou's face looked like it would split in half from smiling so hard. "So where am I supposed to keep this thing? What does it eat?" I asked, accepting the fact that I now had a `pet' iguana called Harry.
"Rai also bought a terrarium to put him in. It's got a couple of branches and leaves and things in it for him to climb around, so it's not like you have to watch him twenty-four-seven."
I eyed the lizard sharply and turned back to mom. "Well, the terrarium is not going in my room! What does it eat and drink?" I asked.
"He's already had his feeding today. He eats a vegetable and grain mix and drinks water. His food and water bowls are in his cage. Why don't you hold him for a bit?" Mom asked, taking Harry off her shoulder and into her hands.
I backed away. "Hell no! It'll bite me!"
My mom rolled her eyes for the second time. "He will not bite, you Lotus. Just hold him carefully and take him out to his cage. It's in the living room by the window."
Hesitantly, I let Mom put Harry on my shoulder. He wasn't very heavy, but he did look freakishly weird up close. It wasn't so bad, though. My mom also sometimes calls me Lotus. Only occasionally though. I walked out into the hallway and made my way down to the living room, only to find that Harry was clinging onto my hair with his little claws; he started to pull on it.
"Aahh!!" I squealed, and ripped the lizard off my head, holding it arm's length away in front of me. "LISTEN YOU! If you expect me to feed you and take care of you against my will then you'd better behave! That means NO grabbing of the hair!" I yelled. Harry looked frightened, almost as if his eyes were glazed over. Ryou suddenly took Harry out my hands and put him gently down in his cage and closed the roof. He looked at me and chuckled. I rolled my eyes and said, "What's next? A SNAKE?!"
