Thanks for all your reviews guys, it's really encouraging. There isn't any lemon/hentai, whatever you wanna call it, in this chapter but if you want any special requests then I'd be more than happy to grant them! Any ideas are welcome too! P.S - sorry if this chapter is a bit short, I've been wanting to update for ages now and it's kinda late at night so I didn't get much done ;_;
Just Get it Over and Done With!
==============================
Shika's POV…
"Alright… let's have a look here… here we go! Hmm this sounds interesting… `Sekhmet and the Pharaoh', that ought to tell us something!" Ryou said.
I gulped. Did I really want to find out what my previous life was all about? Something inside of me wished that I hadn't even asked about my past. Ryou opened the book and went to the page. The story was titled, `The Story of the Pharaoh's Love Affair'. I paled. This couldn't be good.
"Should I read it out, Shika?" Ryou asked.
"Yeah go ahead. Put me out of my misery."
Ryou began to read. "In this story, we tell you about how the Pharaoh was wed to a girl who was near only half his age. It began when the goddess Sekhmet visited the King in order to let him give an illegal citizen to Egypt, the right to remain in Egypt without having to run from the empire. Her name was unknown, but what we do know, is that she was an exotic dancer and also a gift to the king - whom the Pharaoh fell head over heels for her. Once the girl announced this to her family, they tried to run back to their home country, Asia Minor. The king would not accept this, therefore commanded his army to search right across the Middle Eastern world to find her. They did find her in the end, and returned her to the King. The king proposed, and she was forced to accept by her family - they were only after the riches that awaited them. This meant that they would never live in poverty ever again. The whole of Egypt attended to the wedding ceremony and were overjoyed to see that the Pharaoh was finally marrying. The only person that wasn't enthralled about it was the bride-to-be. She commit suicide on the night of the wedding by holding an Egyptian asp to her neck. The venom poisoned her within the hour, causing an unsightly and excruciatingly painful death. She was mummified and placed in a tomb which has yet to be found today."
Underneath the short story was an ancient drawing of a woman holding a small black snake to her neck. She was wearing ceremonial attire - a white dress with gold drapery hanging from it in every possible place with a beautiful gold and lapis azuli (1) headdress upon her head.
"I need to go and see Isis so I can get those wrist cuffs back off of her." I said.
"Are you sure you're up to it? You just read about how you died in your previous life!"
"No need to rub it in! I'm fine… do you want to come with me?"
"Of course I do!"
"Well come on then, let's go."

"Isis, I've got a problem that I need to discuss with you." I said. She poured some tea into some cups and came and sat down on the couch with Ryou and I.
"Tell me then."
I explained to her about the dreams I was having with Yami in them and told her about the story that Ryou and I read today. She looked very understanding and sipped on her tea as I spoke.
"Well, I suppose you already know what these were for then?" She took out of her dress pocket the wrist cuffs of Sekhmet.
"No I don't. Please, do tell me."
"The wrist cuffs that Sekhmet gave you were for you to wear in your marriage ceremony to King Yami. She had been watching over you for a time now and thought it wise that you married him so your life would be forever carefree. I guess she didn't expect you to refuse the idea."
"Nobody, not even a god or a goddess should have any right to takeover the life of another!" I cried.
"I know, but it is alright. I suggest you go and talk to Yami Yugi about this."
"I was going to. But what would it matter if I said anything to him anyway?"
"It wouldn't matter, but just talk to him to see if he remembers anything about it. I'm sure he has a right to know that you were that girl, anyway."
"Okay thanks Isis, oh; you can put those wrist-cuffs on display in the museum if you want." I said.
"Thanks Shika, I'm sure they'll be quite a popular exhibition."
"Yes, and I'll return the Book of the Dead back to you soon, too. See you later, Isis."
"Goodbye, Lotus Shika."

"Are you sure you don't want us to come in with you?" Ryou asked, taking my hand as I stood outside Yugi's game shop.
"I'm sure. I think I should speak to Yami alone anyway. I'll see you guys at home, okay?"
Bakura materialized beside Ryou and took me into his arms tightly; his grip could be near bone-crunching sometimes. But I knew that it was only out of love. He kissed me passionately, his canines carefully withdrawn. Out the corner of my eye I could see Yugi gazing dreamily at us from inside, as if he were thinking `what a sweet couple…'. I guess we were quite the match.
"If that Pharaoh dares to touch you, he will pay." Bakura growled, giving me a grave stare.
"You have nothing to worry about, Bakura. One, Yami is gay and two, I love you. So don't be daft."
"Hmm… alright then. Don't be long."
"I won't, baby." Bakura smiled and Ryou gave me a squeeze.
"Good luck, love." He said softly.
"Thanks, I'll need it. Bye now."
I walked into the game shop as Ryou and Bakura walked casually off down the street. I noticed a few people passing by in cars gave them odd stares - Ryou having an immortal twin only made him that much weirder I guess. I hated the fact that he was a bully target at school - I had to stand up for him a couple of times, not including the time when Malik came over and made his attack on him. Luckily Bakura was there to defend him.
"Hey Shika! How can I help?" Yugi cried cheerfully from behind the counter. His cheery mood startled me sometimes. I wondered how he could always be so happy. Perhaps he was on Prozac…
"Um, hey Yugi! Is Yami about? I kind of need to speak with him." I said, gazing awkwardly around the room so as to not catch Yugi's surprised look.
"Sure, he's in our room. I'll just get him." Yugi disappeared from the counter and whizzed upstairs.
Yami soon came down and greeted me with a surprised smile. "Oh hello, Shika. How are you this afternoon?" Flashbacks of my dream came into my mind of Yami climaxing into me inside the palace. Just staring into his crimson orbs gave me a shiver.
"I'm good… um, Yami, do you mind if we --- err… take a walk --- or, something?" My heart was beating furiously now. I felt like I was thirteen again and asking out my high school crush.
"Well sure, it's a nice enough day outside anyway. Let's go for a walk." Yami advanced on me and strode past me to open the door. We walked out onto the street and began walking.
"So… was there anything in particular that you wanted to tell me, Shika?"
"Well yes, actually there was. You see I've discovered my past life in Ancient Egypt, and you were involved too."
"Really? Please, go on."
We continued down the footpath and came to a small park. There were children playing on the playground and people were walking their dogs.
"Well, in ancient times, I had a job as an exotic dancer. I migrated from Turkey with my family and lived underground in the desert not far out of Memphis. Isis told me that the High Priest Seth, Seto Kaiba in other words, picked me out as your 25th birthday gift to you. I was to be your entertainment gift."
Yami sat down on a wooden bench and stared curiously at me, but said nothing. It made me feel so awkward that I wished I could have exploded into nothing right then and there.
"I think I remember… your name was Lotus… wasn't it?"
"Yes… my second name is Lotus now, too. Do you remember anything more?"
Yami put his thumb to his temple. "It's so hard to remember… I'm sorry, you're going to have to refresh my memory."
"Well… I think I should tell you the nitty-gritty first."
"And… what is that?"
"Well… it's what I've really been needing to get off my chest. It's --- it's really hard telling you this… but…"
"Go on…"
"Lately, I've been having… dreams… god, dreams with you in them." I spat out.
"And what happens in these… dreams of yours?"
I fidgeted. "Well, to be blatantly honest… you made love to me."
Yami reeled in surprise. "I did?"
Now I really felt like combusting on the spot. "Yeah… this was inside your palace, by the way."
"Is there any more to this story?"
"Yes, unfortunately there is… I'm sorry if this is boring you but I thought it would be best if you knew."
"No it isn't boring me at all… it's all very interesting, Shika. Do go on."
"Well… you fell in love with me, but I wasn't in love with you, you proposed and we married… this marriage was against my will, so I… I poisoned myself with an Egyptian asp on the night of the wedding."
"Oh… that's awful, you make me feel so bad now." Yami said, slightly laughing.
I smiled. "Well… I just thought I had better tell you what happened. I should go now."
Yami put a hand on my leg, I jumped. "Thank you for telling me this. It means a lot. Now I know that I got married to a beautiful girl in my time ruling as Pharaoh!"
I smiled wearily. "Oh but you can't tell anyone! Especially not Yugi! He'd never speak to me again!"
"You know that Yugi isn't like that, Shika. He'll always be your friend… but if you don't want me to tell him, I won't."
I sighed. "It's alright… you can tell him. And you can also tell him that I hope he doesn't hate me! I mean… you guys are in love and all. Having him know that I was married to you for a couple of hours in our past lives probably won't be the most comforting feeling to him."
Yami laughed. "Thanks again for this talk Shika; no doubt I'll be seeing you over the spring break some time." Yami shook my hand, and I involuntarily shuddered. His skin, like in my dream, was soft, warm and supple. We headed back toward the edge of the park and went our separate ways. The day was warm and springy, just like spring days should be. The air was thick with sakura tree blossoms and so were the trees. I loved this season. The cherry blossom festival would once again be held this year. The last one I had missed while I was in hospital. Ryou and mom had told me that it was beautiful.
I came through the door in a happy and slightly dazed mood. However, my mood suddenly changed from ecstasy to having my world come crashing down when I saw who was sitting on the couch in my living room - my father.

(1) - Lapis Azuli is a type of blue Egyptian stone. It was used in Tutankhamen's mask which is now in a museum… somewhere… though I don't know where… @.@
Next chapter: Shika deals with having her father stay for a visit, what does she do? Bakura and Ryou are skeptical about her decision --- don't worry, this isn't a death fic!
Updates: No idea, probably next week or the week after depending whether you guys give me some motive!
