' Hey! Look at this! '

' Another Duel Monsters tournament! '

' I'm gonna enter! And win! '

' Hey dufus.. read the poster - couples only! '

' Oh yeah.. oops . '

' I'm gonna ask Tracey! '

' No way! I'm gonna ask her! '

' ....t hat's just sick , Emma... '

A crowd of eager young duell ists were crowding around a poster just outside the arcade. It was announcing the most recent Kaiba Corp. tournament. A couple's one in time for Valentines D ay.

Soon the gang (Yugi, Tea, Joey, Tristen, Duke and Serenity) spotted it on their way to the mall. Joey ran over to get a closer look.

' HEY GUYS! COME LOOK AT THIS! ' he yelled when he'd read it.

' You don't have to yell Joey, we're right here . ' Tea replied as she blocked her ears.

Joey blinked ' Oh yeah... sorry Tea! '

' Hey, it' s a poster for a Duel Monsters Tournament next week . '

' We're not five years old Yugi, we can read . ' Tristen replied.

' Hm, it says that we have to get an entry form or the Kaiba Corp office . '

' Y ugi ! '

' Sorry. I just feel the urge to explain everything . ' Yugi said, smiling innocently at him. //does he have ANY other expression?// Tristen wondered //sure , at first that smile is cute, but after a few years, it's just creepy//

' Yeah , ' agreed Tea, unknowingly agreeing with Tristen's thoughts ' I get the same feeling every time you have a duel. I just feel like I have to tell you how much you r friendship means to me and that I don't want you to get hurt . ' Tea caught Yugi's eye and she blushed.

//why's she blushing?// Yugi wondered. ~ poor naive idiot~ Yami th ought sadly ~he has no idea~

' So, you gonna enter Yugi? ' asked Joey, spoiling Tea's moment.

Yugi nodded ' Definitely! I've never back down from a challenge before and I'm not go ing to start now! ' he struck a heroic pose, but it was ignored by the rest of the group. They were used to his melodramatics.

' So who are you gonna take Tristen? '

Tristen grinned ' Serenity! '

' What! ' Joey nearly exploded ' Hang onna second punk! You aint takin my baby sister nowhere! ' they all ignored the double negative. Like Yugi's melodramatics, Joey's bad grammar was just a fact of life.

' Oh yeah? '

' YEAH! '

' Boys... ' Tea sighed and bashed their heads together.

' Owwww... ' Joey moaned ' What d'yah do that fo r??! '

' Hey.. ' Yugi had come out of his hero pose ' Where'd Serenity go? '

' TRISTEN!!!! '

' It wasn't me!! I've been here the whole time!! '

' WHY YOU LITTLE.. ' Tristen's pleas for mercy went unheard.

' Where's Duke? ' asked Tea, over the sound of Tristen's screaming.

Joey stop ped ' Why... that lousy, no good dice player... ' Joey looked around, ready to commit murd er if that lousy, no good dice player was anywhere near his baby sister ' Why, I'LL KICK HIS SCRAWNY... '

' Joey.. '

' What? '

' Get off... I think you broke my b ack . ' Joey looked down .

' Heh heh, sorry . ' he helped Tristen up, s till looking for his baby sister and the aforementioned lousy, no good dice player.

' There they are! ' Yugi pointed, as always, the one who had to discover whatever they were looking for ' By the fountain, over there! ' //w hat the heck is up with that? // Tristen wondered //it's like he' s M r. find-whatever- we' re-looking- for//


~* By the fountain, over there *~

' Serenity.. I've been meaning to tell you something for a long time , ' Serenity giggled, and gazed wide eyed at him.

' Yes? '

' Well, ever since I first met you, I thought that you we re the most beautiful woman I'd ever laid eyes on... ' Duke paused as he heard music begin to play, and he kept thinking that now would be the perfect time for a flashback... whatever that was...

' Really? ' asked Serenity, managing not to giggle. Duke nodded and she blushed.

' Serenity , ' he took her hand in his. She could have fainted, but still didn't giggle ' ..... ' Duke suddenly paused, cocked his head as if listening to something, then turned back to face her ' I've gotta go before your brother kills me . ' he stood, pulling her up with him.

' Duke... will I ever see you again? '

' No doubt about it . ' he leant forward, kissed her cheek, and was gone.

' WHERE'D HE GO??!! ' Joey screamed ' Why that... that.. ' Joey glared at Duke's disappearing back ' YOU STAY AWAY FROM MY SISTER!! '

' Are you alright Serenity? Did he try anything? ' Tristen asked, concerned. She nodded mutely, her hand touching the spot where Duke had kissed her. She had a weird, happily little smile on her face. Then she giggled.

Tristen shook his head. This was not going well. He had to show S erenity how much he loved her.

He looked over at Joey.

B ut not right now. //that lousy, no good, smooth dice player..// Tristen thought unhappily.

//what's up with Serenity?// Yugi thought. Yami stared blankly at him ~You were never given the 'birds-and-the- bees ' talk , were you?~ Yugi frowned // what does that have to do with Serenity ?// Yami sighed ~maybe you should ask your grandfather about those magazines he keeps under his bed~ //what maga...//

' We're gonna miss the sale! ' Tea suddenly looked at her watch ' We've only got six hours let!! ' Serenity's eyes opened in shock. Mooning over a hot guy was fine, but not when there was a sale on.

' Oh no! We need to go buy new clothes for the tournament!! ' the pair rushed off in the direction of the mall , leaving three confused guys staring after them. Girls....

' Let's go get the entry forms , ' Yugi suggested ' It'll be safer . ' //there he goes again..// Tristen though //as well as begin mr. find-everything, he's also mr. l et's-make-a-good-plan... what is up with that?? Why don't I ever come up with good plans? //

However Duke didn't say any of that. He just agreed and told Joey that they weren't going to stop on the arcade on the way to the Kaiba crop office because they'd just been there for three hours.

//what magazines?// Yugi asked again when they were moving. Yami sighed. He was a n Ancient Egypt ian pharaoh . He should not have to deal with stuff like this.
