Prologue

"There you are Kiera, I have been looking all over for you, it's time for us to leave." Kiera's mother said. "I am not leaving Egypt, this is my home." she says. "you're leaving whether you want to or not." she said while she was dragging her to the car. On the way to the car Kiera saw a glimmer of gold in the shadows near a building and admediatly knew who it was. "Marik, help me!" she yelled out and sure enought a blonde hair boy no older than 14 came out of the shadows holding a golden rod; the millenium rod. "I'm working on it." he said frustrated as he holds out the rod towards her mother. Her mother's eyes had dialated so she knew that it was safe to talk to Marik. "I don't want to leave you or my home, don't let them take me away." Marik walks over and embraces the distressed Kiera, she felt the warmth radiating from his body. She looked up into his radiant Lavender eyes, "Kiera, you must go with your parents. I'll come to you when the time comes." Their lips touch letting warmth spred throughout her thin body."You promise." she asks quietly. "Yes I promise, but you'll have to promise me something." She looked at him barely holding back tears. "what?" He smiles and says "Don't fall in love until then.I love you and when the time comes we'll be together." He kisses her one last time and steps back into the shadows. Kiera whispers "I'll never love anybody but you."
