I honestly have no idea how I came to be in the anime world; I just was all of a sudden. I wasn't in my own body either. I was in one of my Yu-Gi-Oh! characters' bodies. Complete with a height that was a few inches taller than Serenity, short dark hair, white business shirt with a black leather vest over it, black leather gloves, black jeans, dark sunglasses and shoes like Yugi's.

I was also near a pier. The pier just happened to be near the one where Joey and Yugi were dueling for the Millenium Puzzle-well, Marick controlling Joey anyway. I was watching the duel for about twenty minutes-that is until a woman's voice startled me from behind.

"They need your help, you know," she said. I jumped and turned to look at her. My eyes were drawn to the Millenium Necklace around her neck and my eyes narrowed.

"So what?" I spat. "It's not like they can get outta this without my help. I know that they can because I saw it on the show."

"Yes, but the show that you knew no longer exists. This is no longer just a show where the hero wins…" she sighed. "My dear, this is real life now. If you don't help them, my brother Marik will take over the world. Do you want that responsibility on your shoulders?"

I groaned. "Look, this isn't my world, so why the hell do I have to do anything at all in the first place?"

"Just by being here, this world has become your own. Would you kill billions of people simply for lack of a caring nature? I know that you do not lack one, as you are too much like the Pharaoh."

I sighed. "You're just like Shadi, you know that? You can't just leave people alone. Oh, no. You've got to give them a little push to do the right thing. Ishizu, I really hate that. And you're both so goddamn depressing. Cheer up once in a while, eh?" I started to walk away, but turned to her and smirked. "Besides, I may be a lot like the Pharaoh, but I'm also a lot like that tomb robber."

"Tomb robber?" she blinked.

"Yeah, you met him in the museum. Or rather, you would've if you didn't move. He wants all the Millenium Items… remember?" I put a finger to my lips and looked up at her through my sunglasses as I smirked at her shocked expression.

"That spirit… how could you be like them both?" she whispered.

"Don't ask me," I shrugged. "I just came to know this world about a half hour ago."

"Speaking of time, you must free both of the boys before time runs out." She nodded. "Goodbye."

"Wait!" I called after her retreating form. "How the hell am I supposed to do that!?"

"You'll know…" her voice floated back to me.

"Goddammit," I muttered under my breath. I looked over at the timer above Joey and Yugi's heads, groaning. There was only fifteen minutes left on the clock. If I was going to do anything, it had to be fast.

As soon as I stepped out of the alleyway, a bunch of information came into my head. Mostly about Duel Monsters, but also some information about my character. All I had done with her is design what she looked like and had a friend draw her. Somehow, I suddenly knew that she was 18 like me, had no family-so to speak, definitely didn't have any friends, and her name was Joanna Scott Richardson. I don't know why she had a male middle name but she did, ok? To me, it seemed like, that by stepping out of the alleyway, I accepted that I was now a part of this world.

Despite a dull headache from the information, I started to walk towards the group watching the duel. I noticed that Kaiba was talking into his shirt, probably telling his guys to get the man-less helicopter ready. Odd thing was, as soon as I looked at Kaiba, Joey, and Yugi, I suddenly had an idea that I was 98% sure was going to work. I had a slight bit of doubt because I didn't know if the characters were going to help me or not, and even if they did, if it was going to work.

"Yugi!" I called out. He turned his eyes toward me, but his head still faced Joey. "Can I use your Sleifer card?"

He nodded slowly. "Why do you need it?"

"To free Joey," I nodded at the boy I was going to help. He gave me a soft smile and stood facing Joey with more confidence. "Joey…" I looked into the possessed eyes and inwardly shuddered. I thought of Joey as a brother and it pained me to see him, and Yugi, like this. "Joey, if you can hear me-if any part of you can resist Marick, summon the Winged Dragon of Ra." My voice almost broke. "Joey, I know it's asking a lot but you have to try!" I blinked the tears that were starting to form away. I couldn't cry. It'd wreck everything.

"S-summon…Winged… Dragon…" Joey's voice struggled. Joey grabbed his head.

"NO!" Marik's voice screamed through Joey. "What do you think you're doing, little girl!?"

I flew back a few yards from the force of the yell. I'm not sure how, but I guessed that I'm pretty sensitive to magic. "G-get the card," I gasped at Tristan and Devlin. Both hurried and though they struggled with a possessed Joey, managed to the necessary card. Why this didn't cause Marik to drop that thing over Téa's head, I have no clue. I guess that Marik didn't have any clue what we were doing-what I was doing, and didn't really care so long as I wasn't trying to talk to Joey. Devlin handed it to me and I took it and looked at Kaiba. "All right," I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "You're the last part of this, Kaiba. On my signal, have Obelisk attack me."

"What?" His mouth fell open slightly.

I placed both the Winged Dragon of Ra and Sleifer on my dueling disk. "On my signal, attack me with Obelisk," I repeated as both of the god cards on my dueling disk were summoned. Kaiba gave me an odd look, but did as I asked and summoned Obelisk. I looked at the clock. It was only a few seconds until a new minute. Three…two… "Dragon, Sleifer, attack me! Now!"

"Obelisk, attack!" Kaiba bellowed over the roar of the two dragon gods.

All three attacks hit me at about the same time, which in it's self was a weird experience. Heh, Yugi thought when he attacked himself to save Joey it took a lot outta him. Let me tell you, having all three God cards hit you with an attack a once is a much more draining experience.

It was weird. After the attacks hit me, it's like I was in this very white, very calming place. Well… calming for when you're about to burst with anxiety over having two boys' deaths on your head. It was like I was floating, but the entire time I was still just on the pier. It was… a reverse Shadow Realm, I guess. A Light Realm, if you would. I had my eyes shut and I was searching. It took me a while to figure out what I was searching for. Wouldn't you know it? It was the Millenium Rod that I was looking for.

When I found it, it seemed like it was just my hand that left the realm I was in. I grabbed Marik's hand and he tried to pull me off, but he couldn't do it. I (somehow) shook him off, and the light went away so I was back standing on the pier, this time, Millenium Rod in hand.

"Heh, looks like you won't be winning the duel after all, Marik," I panted. "If you don't control Joey, you can't claim the Millenium Puzzle if he wins. Heh heh. Looks like a wrench has just been thrown into your plans." I could feel Marik's confusion, and then annoyance then anger before it all disappeared.

"Ugh…Yugi? What'd're doin' `ere?" Joey put a hand up to his head, gently shaking it.

Okay, that's one down…oh, man! Two to go, I moaned to myself, just before a helicopter came up behind. "Kaiba, you're fantastic!" I shouted as I ran toward the chain between Yugi and Joey, blowing him a small kiss. Once to the chain, I gasped when I saw that there were only five minutes left. My plan wasn't going to work! I needed more time! "Yugi, Joey! You have to finish this duel! You have to bring each other's Life Points to zero!" I shouted at them.

"What? Why `re we duelin'?" Joey asked.

"Okay!" Yugi shouted back. While Yugi and Joey worked at bringing their Life Points down to zero, I got to work on breaking the chain, using the Millenium Rod as a hammer/dagger.

I grunted as something occurred to me from the show. Both Joey and Yugi were exhausted after their duel, which meant that they probably wouldn't be able to unlock themselves. "Devlin, Tristan! Get ready to unlock Yugi and Joey when those boxes open!" I called down before hacking at the chain again.

"Uh… right!" they answered both they each went to a side and got ready. The entire time, the song Excalibur was playing in my head. Before I knew it, I heard Tristan and Devlin call out that both boys were out of their shackles. I glanced at the clock.

0:00:10 There were only ten seconds left!

"Heads up down there!" I called as I tossed the Millenium Rod out. I slid down the chain just enough to avoid the small explosion when the chain was released. I held onto the chain tightly as I hit the water.

Opening my eyes, I tried to get my bearings. I saw that I was sinking fast and I instinctively tried pulling my arms away from the chain, but my left arm wouldn't budge! The harder I pulled the more it hurt. I winced as I realized I was caught and probably was going to die in the water.

Great…I thought. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better…I struggled to keep from blacking out, but then I just couldn't. My eyes fluttered shut for what I thought was the last time. Even though I thought that I was going to die, I thought I felt myself being pulled to… somewhere, somehow. It was, as if someone had something that they had to shoe me or else something dangerous would happen… I don't know. Maybe I'm just thinking too much for the limited amount of oxygen my mind's getting.
