***************
Two figures stood on the hill, watching the glittering skyline of the city. One was sitting with his legs dangling over the edge of the small cliff, and the taller figure stood behind him. They were both pale, and their skin shone under the full moon. They both had long, jagged silver hair, though the taller one's was much more wild that the little one.
The little one's hair fell to his waist, the tips dyed electric blue. Large, brown eyes stared at the city. The wind blew, and he shivered, pulling the leather jacket closer around himself. Under the leather jacket, he wore a tight electric blue sleeveless shirt, that clung, showing off his muscles. He wore a thick, spiked collar around his throat, and on a leather cord, and large gold Ring, with a triangle in the middle. And in the center of that, an Egyptian style eye stared at the city with the necklaces' owner. He wore tight black leather pants, low on his hips, and a knife hung at his hip. He had a few chains on his wrists, and another spiked leather band. He swang his feet, wearing black combat boots.
The taller of the pair looked similar. His hair was shorter, and spikier, the tips dyed blood red. He wore a leather jacket, and a spiked collar as well. His ears were double pierced, and there was a cuff on the right one. He wore a blood red shirt, same style as the small one, and the same pants and shoes. He wore fingerless gloves, revealing a silver ring on his right ring finger. A copy of that ring sat on the right ring finger of the smaller of the two. In the center was heart, made up of two stones; half was white, and half was black. Little silver wings adorned either side of the heart, a demon wing on the black side, an angel wing on the right. The smaller sighed.
"Four years….." He mused to the wind. "It's been four years since we left. Sometimes, I wonder if we did the right thing." The taller one looked down at his partner.
"It was your choice, tenshi. You wanted to leave."
"We had to. He would have destroyed you." They both knew who the `He' was. "You think he'll still be mad?"
"Don't know. I think they'll all just be happy to see you."
"Maybe. I'm not the same guy I was when we left."
"No. you're a man, now, koi. The man I love." The taller one sat down next to his counterpart, taking his hand. "The man I married." The smaller one smiled, and leaned on his lover.
"Hai…." He murmured. "Should we really be going back, Bakura?" Bakura sighed.
"We should have returned long ago. We've been everywhere. China, Russia, Germany, France, Spain….."
"Italy, Greece….."
"Egypt….."
"I liked seeing your home land, Bakura."
"I liked it too. That's why we stayed for two years."
"Until I said I wanted to come home….."
"Yes. Home. This is our home, Ryou. We had to come back. We have to be with, others of our kind."
"Our kind?"
"C'mon love. We're not normal. We're split down the middle. As much as we refuse to admit it, it's true. We need them. We need Malik, and Marik, and even Yugi and Yami. They are our kind." Ryou sighed, and cuddled closer.
"Are they even still here?"
"My contacts say so. Everyone is still here. Kaiba, Joey, Tristan, Ototgi, and, unfortunately, Tea." Both shuddered. But Ryou's shudder didn't stop. "Ryou, you're cold!" Bakura announced.
"Yeah…."
"C'mon. Let's find a warm place to stay the night. We'll find them tomorrow, okay?"
"Yeah." Ryou said, and Bakura helped him up. "What if, what if he tries to take you from me again?" He whimpered, and Bakura smiled gently.
"He won't. I'm sure Marik wouldn't let him."
"I wouldn't let him." Ryou said, firmly. Bakura took him in his arms.
"The Pharaoh may be an ass, Ryou, but he's fair. After four years time to calm down, I'm sure he'll hear us speak before he passes judgment."
"I, there's something I never told you, Bakura…." Ryou said, gently.
"Oh?"
"When, when we left, Marik, and Malik and Yugi were crying…."
"Yes?"
"I, I'm not sure, but when we went around the corner, I thought I saw something…."
"Mm-hmm?"
"I think that Yami was crying, too." Bakura smiled.
"I wouldn't be at all surprised."
"Really?"
"He really liked you, Ryou. I think, that when we left, he realized his mistake."
"Maybe." Ryou said, resting his head on Bakura's chest.
"Ryou….." Bakura said, lifting Ryou's face to stare him in the eye. "Don't worry." He leaned over, and gently pressed his lips to smaller boy's mouth. Ryou stood on his toes, throwing his arms around his lover's neck, and parting his lips. Bakura slipped his tongue in, and their tongues entwined. Finally, they broke their kiss.
"Ashiteru, yami."
"Ashiteru, watashi no hikari kicho." They turned, and straddled their motorcycles. They revved up the engines, and Bakura took off down the road, Ryou close behind.
**************
"YYYUUUUUGGGGGIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!"
The young man's eyes snapped open at the howl coming from downstairs. He groaned.
"NAN DESU KA, YAMI-CHAN?!?" He called, brushing his blonde bangs from his face.
"THEODORE WON'T GIVE ME THE NEWSPAPER!!!!" Yugi sighed, and got out of bed. He stretched his arms, and scratched his stomach, then stumbled downstairs in his pajama pants. He went to the back door, and leaned on the door frame, watching his spouse chase the neighbor's German Shepherd around the back yard. Finally, he knelt.
"Theodore! Come!" He called. The dog bounded over. "Sit! Drop the paper, boy." The dog obeyed, and Yugi took the paper. He took a dog treat from the box on the counter by the door, and tossed it to the dog. "Good boy!" He said, and the dog happily trotted off. Yugi looked up at Yami, who was glaring at him.
"Ra forsaken dogs…." He snarled, and snatched the paper from Yugi, who simply smiled and shook his head, well used to his yami's behavior.
"Just be nice to him."
"No."
"Yami….."
"No! I hate dogs!"
"That's why we have a cat." Yugi said, opening the fridge.
"Speaking of which, where is-YAAAAAHHHH!" Yugi didn't blink at the crash, and yowl.
"Chaos is right by your feet, Yami." Yugi said, taking out the orange juice, and looking at Yami and the orange tabby cat, who looked very proud of herself for tripping Yami….. again……like she did every morning.
"I don't like the cat much either…." Yami grumbled standing.
"Would you rather get a bird?" Yugi asked, smirking
"Eugh. No. they make messes."
"Hamster?"
"They bite."
"Rat?"
"Yugi Mouto, don't even mention those vermin." Yugi giggled. Yami got scared by a rat once, and had hated them since.
"Fish?"
"Boring."
"Well, then, stick with Chaos. You don't complain when she catches the mice."
"Yes I do. She always bring them to me!" Yami complained, putting some toast in the toaster. There was a banging on the kitchen door. Yugi answered it.
"Oh, hey Malik. Marik. What's up?" He asked letting to two tall boys into the house.
"Not much, shrimp." Marik said, despite the fact that Yugi was no longer a shrimp. "Morning, Pharaoh." Yami nodded, and opened the paper. Chaos mewed, and leapt into Malik's lap once he sat down. Malik smiled, and petted her.
"Planned a day for the wedding yet?" Yami asked, jokingly. Malik and Marik had been engaged for three years, but had never even started to plan their wedding. Malik smirked.
"Oh, we thought we'd fly to Vegas and go through one of those drive through marriages." Yugi and Yami didn't laugh; with the Egyptian pair, that was totally possible if they got into the right mood.
"Mmm." Yami said, through his coffee.
"You said you needed help today?" Marik said, looking at Yugi.
"Yeah. We got some big boxes in from Kaiba, and I need someone with muscle who won't complain every five minutes." Here, he glared at Yami, who glared back. Malik and Marik chuckled.
"Let's get started!" Malik said, standing up, letting Chaos leap to the floor. Yugi went and got dressed, while Malik and Marik went to the storage rooms with Yami. Yugi came down, made sure all the shelves were restocked, then unlocked the door, and switched the sign to open. Then he sat down at the counter, and started to read the latest Ranma
"Hello, Yugi." Yugi froze. He knew that voice. Slowly, he raised his eyes. They widened, and the manga fell to the floor, as his mouth fell open. "It's been a long time." The two figures stared at him, with all-too-familiar brown eyes. There was a five inch difference in height, and Yugi was between them. He couldn't believe it. It couldn't be them! But there was no mistaking the long manes of silver hair.
/Yami! YAMI!!!/ He cried through the link. In the storage room, there was a crash, and a curse, then Yami, Malik and Marik came running in. Upon sight of the two figures, they froze in their tracks. Ryou and Bakura stared at them. All was silent, and one could expect a bit of tumble weed to go rolling through the scene. Marik broke the silence.
"B-Bakura?" He gasped. The tomb robber smiled, and nodded. Marik ran to Bakura and threw his arms around his old friend. "Where the hell have you been, you ass hole?!?" Marik shouted, and Bakura grinned, hugging him back.
"All over, Marik." He said. Ryou smiled at the overjoyed pair, and turned back to Yugi, who was still stunned.
"Ryou…?" He finally squeaked. Ryou smiled, warmly.
"Hey Yugi." He said, softly, in the voice that Yugi had missed so much. Yugi ran around from behind the counter, and threw himself at the now smaller boy.
"Oh, my gosh, Ryou!" He cried, hugging his friend. Malik ran over to the four, just as excited to see the white haired pair. Yami, however, just stared, stunned. Ryou suddenly noticed him, staring at Bakura, and froze, to watch him. The others slowly quieted down, too.
"Hello, Yami." Ryou said, and Yami tore his gaze from Bakura, to settle on Ryou.
"What are you doing here, Ryou?" Yami said, in a toneless voice. Ryou blinked.
"We came home." Ryou said, firmly.
"We?" Yami asked.
"No, just me, cause I'm here all alone." Ryou said, sarcastically. Bakura moved closer to him, staring at Yami, hiding just how nervous he was.
"I though you were never coming back." Yami said. Ryou scowled.
"Would you like us to leave again?" He snarled. "Cause we can go right now, and you'll never see us again." He sounded fierce, but Bakura cold feel him trembling. Yami didn't answer. Bakura scowled, and shoved past Ryou, stalking up to Yami.
"We're back because he missed you, Pharaoh. All of you! We left, because he was afraid of you!"
"You left because he was afraid of me? Or because you were?" Yami snapped. Bakura glared.
"He wanted to leave. Because of you." He hissed. "But like he said, if we're not wanted, we can leave." Yami frowned.
"He IS wanted." He said. "YOU are not." Bakura smirked, and grunted, backing off.
"Yami…." Yugi said, softly. "C'mon. He, he can't be all bad. I mean he's not hurting Ryou! Ryou looks, well, he looks good!"
"Bakura's taken good care of me." Ryou said. "But if he' not welcome, than neither am I. Sorry to have disturbed you." Ryou turned on his heel and stalked out the door. Bakura blinked, and ran after him.
"Ryou! Ryou, wait!" Hid voice was heard down the street. Yami stared at the door. Yugi stalked up to his dark, lifted his hand, and the shop was filled with a loud smack, as Yugi's palm slapped Yami's cheek. Yami stared at Yugi, shocked. Yugi had never hit him before!
"How could you!" Yugi hissed. "He's been gone for four years with out a trace! And you do that to him!? Yami, how could you!?!" Marik slapped Malik in the shoulder, and jerked his head towards the door. They both ran out, after Ryou and Bakura. Yugi glared at Yami, then turned, and followed. Yami blinked, then walked to the door. He flipped the sign to closed, and retreated back into the house.
***************
Bakura was surprised at how fast Ryou was running. He entered the park he used to hang with his friends at, and disappeared among the trees. Bakura followed. He searched carefully for Ryou. Finally, he found him, lying under a tree, sobbing. Bakura frowned. It had been over a year since Ryou had shed a tear. He knelt by his light, and rubbed his back, comfortingly.
"Shhhh…. It's okay Ryou. Don't cry. What's wrong, koi?" Ryou sat up, and wiped his eyes, then buried his face into Bakura's chest. Bakura smiled, sadly, pulling his light into his lap. "C'mon Ryou. Don't cry. Everything will work out. Shhh…. Don't cry." He crooned, rocking his light, gently. This was how Malik and Marik and Yugi found them. Yugi swallowed, and approached them first. Bakura looked up at Yugi, a mournful expression on his face. Yugi put his hand on Ryou's shoulder.
"Ryou…." He said, and Ryou slowly lifted his eyes to Yugi. "I'm sorry. He had no right to do that." Ryou closed his eyes, and clung tighter to Bakura. Malik and Marik sat down next to their two old friends.
"C'mon kiddo…" Marik said. "You know, that stick up that Pharaoh's ass has grown into a tree since you left." Ryou smiled, at that.
"Or was it since he married Yugi?" Malik asked. Yugi scowled, and slapped Malik upside the head. This time, Ryou giggled a bit, then sat up and stared.
"Married?" He gasped, Yugi smiled, and blushed slightly, showing Ryou his gold wedding band. Ryou laughed, and held up his own hand, showing off his silver wedding band.
"No way!" Yugi gasped, then grinned. "That is so great, you two! Congratulations! When?! Where?!? Tell me everything!" Ryou smiled.
"So, no hard feelings for my threatening to slit your throat?" Ryou asked. Yugi shook his head.
"You were trying to protect your yami. I would have done the same for mine."
"Really?" Ryou asked, surprised.
"Really. So, tell me everything!" Bakura chuckled. Ryou smiled, and nestled down into his dark's arms again.
"We left Japan. We were afraid that Yami would try to find us. We went to China, and traveled, by motorcycle, to Russia. From there, Poland, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Turkey… It was nearly two years of traveling, and staying a week here, a month there, until we got to Egypt. We liked it so much, we stayed for two years. While on the road, Bakura proposed to me. In, Greece. I accepted. We got some money together, and were married at sunset on the Nile." Ryou smiled at the memory, and Yugi sighed at the romantic vision in his head. Bakura and Marik had closed their eyes, envisioning the river they knew so well. Malik, in the meantime, was staring, amazed, at the joy in Ryou's face. "Malik, it was Rishido who did the ceremony for us. In secret. We told him not to tell anyone he had seen us." Malik shook his head, amazed.
"Really? Wow. He kept his promise."
"For our honey moon, Bakura took me tomb robbing." Ryou said, grinning. (If you want me to write a story about their wedding and honeymoon let me know in a review! ^_^)
"What?" Malik, Marik and Yugi asked. Bakura grinned.
"There was a tomb I had been planning to rob before I got sealed in the Ring. No one ever found it. Ryou had asked me what it was like being a tomb robber, so I took him with me, and we robbed the tomb!" Marik and Malik cracked up, and Yugi stared, shocked.
"That's not all we did with the tomb." Ryou said, mischievously.
"What do you mean?" Yugi asked, not sure if he wanted to know.
"Well, you know how all their possessions are put in the tomb with them?" Ryou said. Yugi nodded.
"Well," Bakura said, not wanting Ryou to have all the fun of shocking Yugi, "that includes the bed." Yugi blinked and Marik howled with laughter.
"You two fucked on the dead guy's bed?!?" Marik asked. Ryou and Bakura grinned, proudly, and Malik collapsed into gales of laughter next to his yami.
"God, Ryou…." Yugi squeaked. "I can't believe you did that!"
"Oh, we fucked for hours in that old guy's tomb!" Bakura cackled. "In every position!" Ryou smacked Bakura.
"Let's not give them every detail." He said.
"You robbed a tomb?" Yugi gasped.
"After that, we took all we could carry, then left your sister an anonymous tip, Malik! She excavated the rest of the tomb." Malik sat up.
"You robbed a tomb?" Yugi repeated.
"So you're the one! She told me about that tip! I should've known it was you!" Malik wiped tears from his eyes. Yugi was still staring at Ryou in shock.
"You robbed a tomb?" He said, yet again.
"Yes! We robbed a tomb, already!" Bakura shouted, making Ryou jump. Yugi sighed, and shook his head.
"Ryou?"
"Yes?"
"Welcome home." Yugi said, smiling. Ryou smiled back. "Thanks, Yugi. Nice to know that one person is glad to see us."
"Two." Malik said, firmly.
"Three." Marik affirmed, nodding.
"The others will be glad to see you too, Ryou. Where are you staying?"
"Uh, no where, at the moment." Ryou said. "We checked out of the motel."
"Oh. Well, let's go see Seto. Maybe he'll let you stay."
"Oh, no. I couldn't intrude on Kaiba." Ryou said, standing.
"Oh, c'mon, koi." Bakura said. "The guy lives in a mansion. He won't notice two extra people fucking in a bedroom."
"Bakura!"
"Joking."
****************
"C'mon, Yami!" Yugi shouted through the bathroom door. "We'll be late!"
"And, just where are we going?" Yami asked, coming out.
"Seto's."
"Why?"
"Just….. because."
"If this has anything to do with the Tomb Robber, Yugi."
"This has everything to do with B-A-K-U-R-A." Yugi said, accenting the yami's name. "And especially Ryou. He came home. We don't want him to leave, but keep this up, and he might. Yami, if you make him leave again, I'll never forgive you!" Yami glared at Yugi.
"I don't want Ryou to leave. Just Bakura."
"Yami, Bakura's okay! He, he loves Ryou! If he didn't do you think Ryou would have been with him this long?"
"Bakura may have forced him."
"Then why would they have come back."
"For the Millennium Items."
"YAMI!"
"WHAT?!?"
"They love each other! Ryou loves Bakura, and Bakura loves Ryou! As much as I love you and you love me."
"Not possible. Bakura's not capable of love."
"Then why did he propose to Ryou!?" Yugi hissed. Yami stared at Yugi.
"N-nani?!"
"Bakura proposed to Ryou while they were gone. They were married over a year ago."
"Married?"
"In Egypt. Ryou told us." Yami had to think about this. "I don't get you Yami. You were so upset when Ryou left, and now that he's back, you act like you want him to leave again."
"Of, of course I don't!"
"Then show him. Come to Kaiba's. Tell him you're glad he's back. And give Bakura a chance. Please. For Ryou." Yami sighed.
"All right, Aibou. For Ryou."
**************
"'Bout time, you guys…." Joey said, letting Yugi and Yami into the mansion.
"Sorry, Joey." Yugi said, stepping in. "Yami was being an ass again."
"I was not!" Yami protested, and Joey chuckled, ruffling the Pharaoh's hair, and closing the door.
"Everyone's in da livin' room. Ryou an' Bakura are still asleep upstairs. We'll send Mokuba up ta get `em when we're ready for `em. Heheh…. Speakin `o which, you shoulda' seen Ryou's face when he realized he had ta' look UP to look Mokuba in `da eyes. Bakura cracked up!" Yugi grinned, and Yami grunted.
"So, where's your boy friend?" Yugi asked.
"Ahh, he's in `da livin' room bitchin' over everythin', as always." Joey said, grinning. Sure enough, as they entered the living room, Kaiba was ordering Tristan and Otogi back and forth with the sofa.
"Over there, no, closer to the window, no, back this way…."
"Ahh, shut up Seto!" Joey said, kissing his boy friend on the cheek. "Right `der's fine guys." Tristan and Otogi dropped the sofa, and went to grab a soda. Mokuba was pouring some salsa into a bowl, and fearlessly slapping Malik and Marik's hands when they tried to steal the chips.
"Not yet, you guys!" The tall fifteen year old kept saying.
"Is everything ready, Mokuba?" Seto asked his little brother, who was almost as tall as him.
"Yup! Should I go get them?" Seto paused, then nodded to Mokuba. Mokuba left the room.
"Turn off the lights." Seto said. "And hide."
Mokuba ran up the stairs and down the hall to the room that Ryou and Bakura were in. He knocked. There was no answer. Slowly, Mokuba cracked the door. The room was dark. It was silent, so he swung the door open all the way, hoping he wasn't interrupting something…
Ryou and Bakura were in bed. Bakura was on his back, arm around Ryou, who was resting his head on his yami's shoulder. His hand was over Bakura's heart. Mokuba didn't want to disturb them, but they were expected downstairs.
"Hey, Ryou, Bakura….?" He called, softly. Bakura's eyes shot open immediately.
"Mokuba?" He asked. Ryou's eyes fluttered, and he slowly opened them.
"Dinner's ready." Mokuba said. "We're eating in the living room and watching a movie."
"What movie?" Ryou asked, yawning. Mokuba blinked, when Ryou's hand left Bakura's chest. Under his hand, just below Bakura's left collar bone, was a tattoo. Ryou sat up, and Mokuba stared. The same symbol was tattooed just below Ryou's left collar bone.
"Hey, what's that?" Mokuba asked, pointing to Ryou's chest. Ryou brushed his fingers lightly over the tattoo. As he got out of bed, Mokuba got a closer look. It was an Egyptian Ahnk, in a ring of hieroglyphics. "What does it say?" Mokuba asked, looking down at Ryou, who was fingering his blue tipped hair. Bakura got out of bed, and pulled his jeans on over his boxers.
"Ryou and Bakura: Two Hearts Joined Together Forever As One." Bakura said.
"Oh. Wow." Mokuba said. "I'll see you two downstairs!" He jogged down the hall. Ryou smiled at Bakura. He started to pull his shirt on, but Bakura stopped him. Ryou smiled at Bakura, as he leaned over, and lightly kissed his little lover's tattoo. Ryou smiled, and sighed, wrapping his arms around Bakura's shoulders.
"Ahsiteru, Bakura-chan." Ryou murmured, and Bakura lifted his face, and pressed a kiss on Ryou's lips, briefly.
"I love you too. Let's go. I'm hungry!" Ryou giggled, as Bakura backed off, and pulled on hi own shirt. Ryou followed Bakura out the door, and down the hall. Bakura grinned, and with a loud `WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!' he slid down the banister on his thigh, hopping to the floor. Ryou smiled, softly, and walked down the stairs, calmly.
"C'mon, Ryou! Live a little! Jump!" Bakura called, holding his arms out. Yami was watching from the shadows, as Ryou smiled, and shook his head.
"And robbing a tomb in Egypt isn't living a little?" He asked. Yami's eyes widened in surprised.
"That was our honeymoon, Ryou. C'mon, jump!" Ryou sighed, then grinned, and leapt off of the stairs, crashing into Bakura's chest. With a big `Oomph!' Bakura fell backwards, and crashed to the floor, with Ryou on top of him. Ryou blinked, and looked at his dark, who was shaking.
"Kura?" He asked, and finally, Bakura took a deep breath, and laughed out loud.
"I didn't actually expect you to do it!" He laughed, then smiled at Ryou on top of him. He reached up, and caressed Ryou's cheek, then ran his fingers through his hair. He wrapped his hand around the back of his head, and pulled Ryou's face down, kissing him deeply. Ryou moaned and kissed back, sliding his tongue into Bakura's mouth. Yami blinked, when Bakura rolled his hips against Ryou's. Ryou gasped, and pulled away.
"Not in Seto's front hall!" He gasped, laughing slightly, and stood. He offered Bakura his hand, but Bakura ignored it. He brced his hands by his head, and kicked his legs up into the air, his body following. He landed smoothly on his feet, and gave Ryou a wink, then wrapped his arm around his timid light's waist.
"Show off…."
"Let's go eat. Then we can have fun."
"Okay." Ryou said, placing his hand on Bakura's hip. They walked into the living room, not seeing Yami as they passed. "Uh, Mokuba did say the living room, ne?"
"Hai…." Bakura answered, confused. Yami flicked on the lights, and everyone jumped out of hiding.
"SURPRISE!!!! WELCOME HOME!!!!" Ryou and Bakura jumped, startled. After a moment, a grin spread over Ryou's face.
"Otogi! Tristan!" He cried, and ran to embrace his friends.
"Hey Ryou!"
"How you doin' short stuff?" Otogi asked, ruffling Ryou's silvery hair. Bakura smiled at the joy he was feeling from his light, and ran a hand through his red tipped hair.
"Serenity!" Ryou called, seeing Joey's sister. Bakura silently noted the absence of Tea. Seto hadn't been home when Ryou and Bakura arrived, so he ran to the CEO.
"Seto!" He cried, leaping at the brunette, who caught him, and swung him up into the air, grinning. All in all, an adorable sight. Seto then brought Ryou down into his chest, hugging him.
"Where in seven hells have you been you crazy kid?!" He asked.
"Yes…." Yami said, coming up behind Bakura. "Where in seven hells have you been?" Bakura turned, and looked at Yami. Bakura narrowed his eyes, and looked back and forth between the group, and the Pharaoh. Finally, Yami jerked his head towards the doorway, and walked out. Bakura paused, and followed. They went outside, and to the gardens.
"So." Yami said. "You married Ryou." Bakura nodded.
"Hai. So?"
"Just surprised."
"Why? You married Yugi."
"I also love Yugi with all my heart."
"As I do Ryou."
"I find that hard to believe." Bakura clenched his teeth at Yami's comment.
"And why do you say that?"
"I remember how you treated him." Yami said, glaring at the other boy, and was slightly surprised that he could now look Bakura straight in the eyes without looking up. Bakura's eyes flashed.
"You think I'm proud of that, Pharaoh?" He hissed. "It hurts more than anything that I treated him as nothing but an object used for pleasure. I love him with all my heart and soul."
"Do you?"
"I love him more than anything, Pharaoh. I would die for him. I'd do anything for him. Nothing can tear me from his side." Yami glared at Bakura.
"I could." He raised his palm, so it was inches from Bakura's forehead. "With two words, I could get rid of you for good." Bakura was scared, but he wouldn't let it show.
"You can try. You can banish me for a while, but not for good. It would only be a matter of time before Ryou got me back. Have you seen that scar on his arm? The long one, on the inside of his left arm? It's your fault he has it. That's where he cut himself countless times to get me back when you banished me."
"I can send you somewhere inescapable, Bakura."
"Would you? Would you do that to me? Would you do that to Ryou? Do you have any idea what that would do to him? It would destroy him. He'd lose his mind. Just as I would if I lost him." Yami lowered his hand, and studied Bakura intensely.
"Maybe." He said, and circled the tomb robber. "So, you took Ryou tomb robbing…" He said, changing the subject. Bakura smirked. "I hope it wasn't anyone I knew…." Yami said, smirking slightly. Bakura grinned.
"Maybe……" Yami frowned. Bakura might not be joking….. Bakura smirked, and pulled something from his pocket, tossing it to Yami. Yami caught it, and looked it over. It was a ring. A very familiar ring. His eyes widened, and he glared at Bakura, enraged.
"You robbed MY tomb?!?!?!" Yami shrieked.
***********
"What the hell did you do to your hair, Ryou?" Tristan asked, fingering a strand.
"Dyed the tips." Ryou said, shrugging. "Bakura's is red."
"We saw." Joey said, grinning, happy to finally have Ryou back among their group.
"Hey…." Marik said, frowning. "Where IS Bakura?" He asked.
"Uh oh…" Yugi said. "And where's Yami?" Ryou looked around, and paled.
"We, we have to find them….."
"They're in the garden…" Mokuba said, looking out the window. Everyone gathered around the window and watched the two yami's talk. Suddenly, Bakura tossed Yami something. Yami shrieked something, and Bakura ran, Yami hot on his heels.
"Oh, no….." Yugi moaned. A few minutes later, Bakura came tearing into the room, Yami still on his tail. Bakura ducked behind Marik.
"Oh, shit, Marik, help!" He giggled. Marik blinked.
"YOU RA FORSAKEN MOTHER FUCKING GOOD FOR NOTHING DUMB ASS SHITHEAD SOUL STEALER!!!!!" Yami screamed. Yugi ran over and stopped him from pouncing on Bakura, who scuttled over to Ryou.
"Bakura, what the bloody hell did you do?" Ryou demanded.
"You know that tomb we robbed?" Bakura snickered.
"Hai….."
"It was Yami's."
"NANI?!?" Ryou shrieked, and whirled on his spouse. "WE ROBBED YAMI'S TOMB?!?!"
"No. We robbed Yugioh's tomb!" Bakura squeaked through giggles.
"HE'S THE SAME BLOODY GUY!!!!" Ryou shouted. At this, Marik collapsed onto the sofa, laughing. "BAKURA, YOU BLOODY ASS HOLE!!!" Ryou raged. Even Yami forgot his anger at this. No one had ever seen Ryou this angry. "WHAT IN THE SEVEN HELLS POSESSED YOU TO DO THAT?!? YOU DIDN"T EVEN TELL ME! NO WONDER YOU KEPT HIDING THINGS IN THE TOMB! YOU DIDN"T WANT ME TO KNOW WHOSE TOMB IT WAS! GODDAMMIT BAKURA!!!" Even Bakura stumbled back at hi hikari's explosion. "WE ROBBED MY BEST FRIEND'S YAMI'S TOMB! We, oh God…. We, we had SEX in his BED! YOU FUCKED ME IN YAMI'S TOMB ON YAMI'S BED!!!!!!! BAKURA!!!! I'M THIS CLOSE TO SENDING YOU TO THE SHADOW REALM MYSELF!!!!"
"I'll gladly do it for you Ryou." Yami said, amused at how Bakura now cowered under Ryou's temper.
"URUSAI, YAMI! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!" Yami scowled.
"It is not!"
"IF YOU HAND'T HAVE BANISHED HIM, AND TRIED TO BANISH HIM WHEN I GOT HIM BACK, WE WOULDN'T HAVE LEFT IN THE FIRST PLACE. WE NEVER WOULD HAVE GONE TO EGYPT, GOTTEN MARRIED, AND ROBBED YOUR TOMB!!!! GOD DAMMIT BAKURA!!!!!" Now, Yami was cowering under Ryou's anger. Ryou stood, seething, and gasping for breath. He glared at Yami and Bakura, then jumped forwards.
"I've had enough of the both of you…." He snarled. He grabbed both by the hair, and both yelped. Ryou dragged them out of the room, an the group followed. "Mokuba, open that door!" Ryou snapped, coming up to a closet. Mokuba quickly obeyed. Ryou tossed the two yami's into the closet, and slammed the door. "Lock it." Ryou ordered, and Mokuba obeyed. "Neither of you are coming out until you get over yourselves!" Ryou then whirled, ignoring the furious shouts and poundings on the door, and went back to the living room. He sat down on the sofa, scowling. The group stared at him, amazed.
"Wow…." Malik said, after a moment. "I mean…… wow. Ryou, you….. you've changed!" Ryou glared at Malik, who took a few steps back. Suddenly, Ryou's fury disappeared, and he suddenly looked like the boy from four years ago; quiet, soft spoken, afraid…. His lips trembled, and then, he put his face in his hands, and sobbed. Everyone blinked.
"Is he pregnant, or something?" Marik muttered. Malik slapped him, and moved over next to Ryou. He sat down, and pulled Ryou into his arms.
"He's stressed, Marik." Malik said. Ryou relaxed against him, and Malik adjusted himself, and Ryou, until he was in the corner of the couch, and Ryou was stretched across it, his head resting in Malik's lap. The Egyptian ran his fingers through Ryou's waist length hair. Everyone quietly pulled over chairs, or settled on the floor. The noise from the closet ceased.
"We're glad you're back, Ryou." Yugi said, smiling, taking Ryou's hand. Ryou smiled, gently.
"I'm glad to be back. I really missed you guys. I love Bakura with all of my heart, but he was all I had while were gone. We saw Rishido a few times, and Isis a time or two, but……" He sighed. "I wanna stay here now. I don't ever wanna leave. I had to be more like Bakura to live for the past four years. But, it's not me." Ryou sighed, and looked down at himself. He sat up, and stripped off his leather jacket. "I'm Ryou Bakura. Not Yami Bakura." And he removed his torn black t-shirt, throwing it on the floor. "I want to be me again." He discarded the chains on his wrists, and the heavy combat boots. Everyone stared at his body, smooth and well toned. And their eyes fell on his tattoo. Malik touched it.
"Ryou and Bakura: Two Hearts Joined Together Forever As One." He said, reading the hieroglyphs. Slowly, Ryou reached up, and undid the buckle on his collar. He swallowed, an removed it. He looked at it, then let it fall to the floor.
"I want to be the Ryou Bakura you all remembered." He said, softly. "I want to be me…." He rested his head on Malik's shoulder. Malik hugged him.
"I think I can help." He whispered, then moved over to Kaiba, and whispered to him. Kaiba blinked.
"In the basement. I'll bring it to you…" Kaiba said. "And the stuff can be found in the bathroom supply closet." Malik nodded, and looked at Ryou.
"Ryou, come with me." He said. Ryou blinked, but stood, and followed Malik.
***************
"What the hell has come over him?!?" Bakura growled, exasperated.
"You, apparently." Yami grumbled through the darkness of the closet.
"Urusai, Pharaoh."
"Iie." Both were silent for a moment. "You've rubbed off on him." Yami said, after a while. Bakura grunted. Yami couldn't see it, but Bakura was smiling.
"He's rubbed off on me too. Ra, I've gone totally soft."
"Why do you say that?"
"Why do you care?"
"I asked first." Yami snapped, and Bakura rolled his eyes.
"I see things I've never seen before when I'm with him. Sunset never meant anything to me, but when I'm with him, I want it to last forever. Do you remember the sight of the desert, on a full moon?" Yami sighed.
"Yes. Yes I do. The sight of the full moon, shining on the Nile, with desert beyond, there was no sight more peaceful than that in all of Egypt." Bakura laughed, slightly, and slid to the floor, next to Yami.
"That's what I see, when I look at him. When I look in his eyes. Just looking, gives me the most serene peacefulness that not even that sight can give. All of the most amazing moments of my life, and after life, were spent with him, in Egypt. Watching the sun rise, his very first sight of our homeland. He was more beautiful that the view ever could have been." Through the darkness, Yami was staring at where Bakura's voice was, next to him, amazed. "We rode through the desert on horses, he loved it. We rode all day. I'll admit, even I was sore after that. But we didn't head back until after the sunset. He was so exhausted, he couldn't stay on his horse. So he rode with me. He fell asleep in my arms, and I never wanted that moment to end. The trust he had in me, to keep him safe, to not let him fall." Bakura sighed again. Yami swallowed.
"And, when you were married…."
"We hired a boat. It was just him, me, and Rishido. He did the ceremony for us. E were married on the Nile at sunset. But we hardly even noticed Rishido. It was just us. He took a dagger, and marked us, the way Malik's back was marked, with the same dye as Malik's back."
"Where?"
"Here."
"It's dark. I can't see." Yami pointed out. He gasped, when he felt gentle fingers on the left side of his chest, just beneath his collar bone.
"It says, Ryou and Bakura: Two Hearts Joined Together Forever As One." Bakura's fingers left Yami's chest. Yami absently rubbed his chest where Bakura had touched him. "We spent the whole night on that boat. Just sitting together, watching the moon. It was full. We watched that sight, the full moon on the Nile with the desert beyond. That sight, and Ryou, together…. Ryou looked like he was created for that time, and place. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. And Ryou was so….. elegant…… tranquil….. innocent…… I've never felt such love for anything in my life. I love him so much, Yami. The gods themselves cannot comprehend the love I have for him. And the gods themselves could not tear me from his side." Both yami's were silent. Yami eventually spoke.
"To answer your question, Bakura, why do I care? I promised Yugi that I would give you a chance. And I have." Bakura blinked. "And I'm glad I did. I guess Ryou has rubbed off on you. You've changed. A lot." Both were silent, and this time, it lasted for nearly half an hour.
"Does this mean we can leave now?" Bakura said, after a while. Yami blinked, then chuckled.
"I hope so." Yami grumbled.
"I'm hungry" Both said in unison. They both blinked, then started to laugh.
"Yami?" They heard Yugi call through the door.
"Yes?"
"You two okay?"
"Never better Yugi. You can let us out now."
"…….. I wanna talk to Bakura first."
"Why?" Yami asked.
"To make sure you didn't send him to the Shadow Realm." At this, Bakura cracked up.
"What?!? YUGI! I wouldn't….!!!! Arrrhhhh!!!" Yami stuttered. The door swung open, and Yami blinked at the light. Everyone looked in at Bakura. "Oh, shut up, Tomb Robber." Yami snapped. Bakura's laughed faded to tired giggles, and he stood, stumbling out of the closet, an annoyed Yami behind him. Both sat down side by side on the sofa, much to everyone's surprise Bakura looked around.
"Hey? Where's Ryou?"
"Over here." Everyone turned, as Malik walked into the room. "The Ryou we all know and love." Everyone's mouth fell open as Ryou walked into the room. His wild hair was tamed, and the blue tips were gone. So was the black leather. Ryou wore faded jeans, a turquoise button up shirt, and cream colored sweater over it, and sneakers on his feet. The Millennium Ring still hung on his chest. Ryou looked the way every one remembered him from four years ago.
"Ryou…." Bakura gasped, standing. Ryou looked at his feet, shyly. Bakura approached him.
"You look…." Ryou swallowed nervously, and waited. "You look like….. you." Ryou raised his eyes to Bakura's. They were wide, and staring in shock at his light. "You look like Ryou. My Ryou. From a long time ago. My little Ryou…." Bakura shook his head, not knowing how to say what he was feeling. "You look…. Right. The way you should be. You, I, I don't know, I….. you look like you again. Instead of me. I never noticed how, you, oh, Ryou." Bakura threw his arms around Ryou, crushing the boy against his chest. Ryou blinked, and then wrapped his arms around Bakura's waist.
"Bakura…." He whimpered. Bakura stepped back, and Ryou stared. Bakura was crying.
"Tenshi." He whispered. "Watashi no tenshi aisuru…." Ryou couldn't hold back his own tears any longer. Bakura leaned over, and kissed him. Ryou flung his arms around Bakura's neck, and Bakura pulled him close, deepening the kiss.
"Awwww….." Malik cooed, leaning on Marik. Yami and Yugi smiled at each other, and put an arm around the other.
"This is how things should be." Yami said, firmly. Bakura and Ryou looked at him. Ryou looked at Bakura.
"Are you two…."
"We're fine, now, Ryou." Bakura said, smiling at Yami, who nodded. Yami left Yugi's side, and approached the albino pair. He smiled.
"Welcome Home, Ryou." He said. Ryou blinked, then grinned, and threw his arms around Yami. "We missed you."
"I missed you too." Ryou whimpered, through his tears.
"We're glad you're back." Yami said, trying to fight back tears of his own.
"I'm glad to be back." Ryou said. Bakura smiled.
"And this time, we're here to stay."
