Darknesssavior: oh right…well then, I do not own yugioh, I do own alex she is my oc. There now on with the story

Joey's pov: it was getting colder and colder out and the heat was turned off yet again. My dad wouldn't even give me my jacket back. The night before I'd started screaming at him that I was going to freeze to death. He just screamed back at me and ended up throwing me out the front window. I had an interesting time explaining to tris how I got all the guts on my arms and back. We were changing in gym and he saw them. I ended up telling him I fell off my bike well I was going around the lake. He didn't really believe it but whatever. After I got home I dropped my backpack and grabbed my nametag. I was just glad my dad was asleep as I ran out the door. About half way to work I realized I was late so I started running down the street. I tripped over a crack and fell down scraping up my knees yet again. I stopped and just laid on the sidewalk for a little while. Well at least I'd be able to honestly tell Tristan how I got hurt this time. I wished I could just lay there and forget about it.

"if I stumble and I fall should I get up and carry on or will it all just be the same"

Tristan's pov: at school the next day we got our report cards. My grades sucked pretty bad but that was normal. Alex's grades were about the same as mine. She didn't seem to care though. She was apparently thinking about something else. That was typical though. Alex didn't seem to pay much attention a lot of times. She was definitely a thinker. She only thought about things she cared about though and that didn't include school. The teacher called us up one by one to discuss our grades. I could tell Joey didn't want to. He didn't care. I knew his grades sucked since he never turned in his homework. It was like he didn't have anyone yelling at him to do it either. When he went up I listened to as much as I could. The teacher was telling him that he probably wouldn't pass and that she had sent a note home for his father. She said she was beginning to think it was a hopeless cause. She couldn't understand why he never did his homework and she thought he was a smart kid. He said something about not having time and she quickly became very angry telling him that unless he was working, which he obviously wasn't, he should have plenty of time. He just glared at her and walked back to his desk.

"cause I'm young and I'm hopeless I'm lost and I know this, I'm going know where fast that's what they say"

Joey's pov: going home after school…I was scared. I didn't know what I was going to do. I knew my dad was gonna go off on me. Especially since I'd just gotten my pay check. That meant he had more beers. When I walked in the door he seemed fine. I was actually sort of relieved. I knew I had to get my report card signed and Mrs. Orlando told me if I forged his signature 1 more time I would be expelled. I figured it was worth a shot and I asked if he could sign it. he signed it then looked at it. he quickly grabbed my shirt collar asking me if I thought this was acceptable. I told him no and he smashed me into the wall. I felt a sudden pain in my head and I was dizzy. I suddenly felt myself falling then everything went black.

"I'm trouble some I've fallen I'm angry at my father its me against this world and I don't care"

alex's pov: Joey wasn't at school the next day. I decided this was the perfect chance for me and Tris to show up at Joey's house. We would say we we're just bringing his homework over. It was still early so we'd have to wait the whole day before we could finally get some answers.
