"Yugi, I have something for you to bring over to the new neighbors." Yugi's grandfather said. "Ms. Mizuno couldn't get Kami out of the house to bring it, so she sent it over here for you."

"What is it?" Yugi asked walking out into the kitchen.

"This." his grandfather lifted up a small plastic hood, which covered a large cake with chocolate fudge icing. It had 'Welcome to Domino City' wrote on the top.

"...Ms. Mizuno really knows how to spice up a welcome..." Yugi said. "Why wouldn't Kami bring it over?"

"She was sleeping..." his grandfather answered. "And you know Kami..."

"Wake her up and die..." Yugi finished off his grandfather and snatched the cake off the counter. "See ya later."

"Take your time." his grandfather called after him.

"Planning on it." Yugi said leaving the house.

Anzu slipped down from the attic and took a look around, Naomi was in the room next to her rummaging through her things. "Having fun mom?" Anzu asked peeking in at her mother.

"Oh yeah, loads." Naomi answered looking over at Anzu. "Did you find the attic alright?"

"...um...yeah sure." Anzu said sitting on one of the unopened boxes in the doorway Naomi's room.

"What's wrong?" Naomi asked.

"I called Toki..." Anzu said with a sigh.

"And?"

"..he never seemed interested in talking to me..." Anzu said with a sigh.

"Well...here comes someone who seemed interested.." Naomi said looking out through the window. "That Yugi kid is on the way over..."

"Really?" Anzu said standing up.

"Yeah...better go down and let him in..." Naomi said with a smile. "I'll stay up here, just to let you bond a little."

"What?"

"Wrong use of words..." Naomi said sweat-dropping. "Heh, heh...sorry dear."

Anzu glared at her mother and ran down over the stairs just as Yugi knocked on the door. She stopped and uncontrollably reached up to fix her hair before opening the door. "Hey, Yugi!" she said stepping to one side to allow him in.

"Hey Anzu." Yugi said. "Um...my friends mother sent this over..."

"Wow...tell her I said thanks..." Anzu said taking the cake. "Looks great...wanna come in and have some?"

"I wouldn't like to impose..." Yugi said. "I mean...you DID just move in..."

"Ah, c'mon." Anzu said shutting the door. "Mom won't mind...and I defiantly don't."

"Gee, thanks." Yugi said with a smile, he followed Anzu out into the kitchen. He was surprised to see that everything was all arranged and unpacked. "Wow...you guys are quick to unpack..."

Anzu shrugged and took out a couple of plates and glasses. "Mom like to get everything done quickly..." she reached into the refrigerator and took out a bottle of milk. She sat down at the table, and waited for Yugi to take his seat. "Give me a second, I'm gonna go upstairs and see if mom wants some cake..." she stood up and ran upstairs.

Yugi sat in the chair beside Anzu's and looked around again. /Yami there's nothing wrong with the house as far as I can see.../

//I can feel the Yin energy in the house. I don't know if its coming from her anymore or it's the curse...// Yami said as if also exploring the kitchen. //..Yugi...I need my own body...you have to let her know about me...and tell her about the curse...//

/What? Are you crazy, Yami?/ Yugi asked as he watched the faint image of Yami that he could only see appear on the chair next to his and Anzu's.

//I'm not...// Yami said looking at his light. //It's the only way to keep her safe...//

/You never acted like this towards any of the other people who moved in here...why do you look at Anzu as in being...so special?/ Yugi asked.

Yami just looked at him and blinked. He didn't know how to answer him. //Well...//

/Well what? Is it the Yin energy you felt coming from her when we first met her?/

//Um...yes...that's it...// Yami said fumbling with the puzzle around his neck.

Yugi turned around as Anzu ran down over the stairs. "She'll be down...af...ter..." Anzu stopped and looked in the direction of the table where Yugi and Yami sat. "...Yugi...who's that?" she asked eyeing Yami. "...how come I can see right through him....and..why does he look like you?"

"You can see him?!" Yugi asked looking back at Yami who had a puzzled look on his face.

"..plain as day..." Anzu said not moving from where she stood. "...Yugi...answer my question... please..."

"Well...Anzu..." Yugi looked back at her. "...this is Yami...he's the spirit from the Millennium Puzzle..." he held up the puzzle that hung around his neck. "He was a Pharaoh from back in ancient Egypt..."

"Huh...wha-t..." Anzu grabbed the corner of the wall to keep herself from fainting.

"Anzu..." Yugi said getting up, he ran over to help her stay up. "Are you okay?"

Anzu just looked down at him, and slowly edged him away. "...what the hell...?" she looked at Yami slowly.

//You can see me...how is that so?// Yami asked, his voice echoed, it never sounded like he was even in the same room as them.

"Kami, I'll have some of that cake now." Naomi said walking down over the stairs, she looked over at the table. "Oh look, you pulled out a chair and everything for me."

'She can't see him...' Anzu thought. She watched Yami stand up from the chair and walk over by Yugi.

"Why hello there...you must be Yugi." Naomi said with a smile.

"Hello, Ms. Mazaki." Yugi said with a smile.

"Call me Naomi." Naomi said sitting down at the table. "So you kids gonna join me for some cake? Or do you change your mind?"

"We'll join you." Yugi said sitting down. "C'mon Anzu."

Anzu looked at Yami who looked back at her. She looked away from him and sat next to Yugi.

//I'm going to stay here in the house.// Yami whispered to Yugi as they both watched Naomi and Anzu clean up the dishes.

/Why?/ Yugi answered through his mind.

//Because the dark energy is getting stronger.// Yami answered. //The spirit that has this house cursed is getting restless...and will soon awaken to find more people living here...and that will not be good.//

/But Yami...Anzu doesn't seemed to fond of you...you know...maybe you shouldn't./

//I don't actually care.// Yami said.

Yugi looked to Anzu. "Well, I better go. Grandpa will wonder where I went off to and probably start to worry."

"See you, Yugi. Tell your grandfather to drop over sometime..." Naomi said with a smile.

"I will."

Anzu turned around and saw that Yami was still sat there. "Yugi!" she ran over. "Um..then take spirit boy with you...." she whispered.

"Can't..." Yugi said quickly as he ran out through the door.

"Argh." Anzu groaned and turned around, Yami and Naomi was looking at her. "What?"

"Nothing, honey..." Naomi said.

Anzu rolled her eyes, she walked pass Yami and walked up over the stairs to the attic. She opened the door and slammed it behind her, and stomped up over the stairs. 'That was a blowup for no reason...' she thought setting down on her bed.

//Is there something the matter?// Yami asked walking through the door.

"Argh! Get out of here." Anzu said looking at him.

//No, I'm going to stay.// Yami said sitting on her desk. //This house isn't safe, Anzu.//

"What are you talking about? It's a normal old house." Anzu said, she lay down on her back but kept her eyes on him.

//No, it isn't...// Yami said looking at her. //Anzu, practically everyone knows that there is something wrong with this house. They just don't know what. All the people who ever lived here left screaming, never to return.//

"Oh, and I suppose I should care about all this?" in the pit of her stomach she did, but she didn't want to really show it.

//Anzu there is more evil in this house than anywhere in the world probably. I believe the evil was brought here by an ancient Egyptian spirit like myself...another Yami.//

"I don't really want to hear your mumbo jumbo on this." Anzu said turning back on to him. "I just want to go to sleep..."

Yami watched her, he knew she was going to be hard to get along with, but somehow he also knew that he could get through to her... 'Somehow...' he thought as she sank to the floor. 'She'll understand...'

Bang, bang, bang!

"Anzu! There are a couple girls here to se you, they said Yugi sent them over!" Naomi yelled.

Anzu opened her eyes and turned over, Yami was still there, but he had his eyes closed, probably asleep. "Okay I'm coming mom..." Anzu called back getting up. She slowly stood up and made her way towards the door, hoping not to wake Yami as she did so. She turned the nob and opened the door, and walked down the stairs. She opened the next door and made her way out passed her mothers room, and went down into the livingroom.

She walked out into the kitchen, two girls, one had black hair, and wore a short black mini skirt, black hooker boots, a black hoodie, and lots of black makeup, the other had long brown/black hair and wore baggy black pants, a black tank-top and a blue jacket-tank-top thing over it, was sat at the table. They looked back at her. "Hello." the girl in the blue said. "You must be Anzu."

"Yeah...and you are?"

"I'm Kami Mizuno. My mom was the one who sent you the cake Yami brought over earlier. And this is Ise Honda." Kami grinned.

"Hey..." Ise looked at Anzu. "...I don't like her..."

"Heh...don't worry, Anzu...Ise doesn't like anybody really..." Kami said sweat-dropping.

"Don't worry...the feeling will probably turn out the same..." Anzu said with a sniff. "So, Yugi sent you over here?"

"Yeah, he said you might need some girl friends." Kami smiled.

"Yeah...I kinda do..." Anzu said as Yami came down over the stairs.

//Oh, I see you met Kami and Ise.// he said walking up to them. Anzu did her best not to look at him. //Kami also has a Millennium item, Anzu. She has a sword, but no Yami...she has powers that could blow you away though...//

'Yes but can she see you?' Anzu thought, she sat at the table with the girls, completely trying to ignore Yami.

"So what do you want to do?" Kami asked.

"I dunno." Anzu said with a shrug.

"Do you like to shop?" Kami asked.

"Yeah...do you?"

"Not really...but it'll pass away some time!" Kami said with a smirk.

"Well lets go then..." Anzu said.

"You two can drop me off at the nearest Francisco store." Ise said with a sniff.

"Francisco?" Anzu asked.

"It's a store with lots of freaky Gothic stuff in it." Kami said as they walked out through the door with Yami close behind. "Its practically heaven for me and Ise, but I'll take you to a place where I KNOW you'll love!

"Um..thanks..." Anzu said with a small smile. She glanced back just to see Yami hot on their tails. She sweat-dropped and looked away.
