Summary: It's been almost a year since Yuugi Moutou's mysterious dissapearance. Jounouchi blames himself, leaving Anzu, Honda and Bakura to comfort him. If Yuugi's mysterious disappearance hadn't been enough - well, Ryou starts experiencing strange Nighttime Visits. Ones that will lead his quasi-normal life down paths he never even knew existed.
That, and I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh. Wish I did.
It had been almost a year since Yuugi Moutou's dissapeareance...and Ryou lay awake. He wasn't thinking about Yuugi Moutou though...no, it was too creepy to think about Yuugi Moutou on a night such as this.
Outside, lightening illuminated the sky with silver tongues while thunder rolled like drums through his ears. Ryou pulled the covers a little closer about his ears and imagined that blocking out his room would block out his unease as well.
He felt strangely exposed alone in his room - his sweatpants and t-shirt oddly revealing. He had peered out of his second-story window at least three times, all for nothing. With an effort, he forced his eyelids down. After all, it wouldn't do for him to fall asleep in class tomorrow.

With a sweep of massive wings, The vampire had managed to position himself conveniently outside of the boy's window once more. This boy would be easy prey...but at least a more pleasing one this time. Usually those with weak minds were older specimins, usually not even worth half the trouble he went to for their blood. This one however was young, tender...he imagined he could see the blood rushing through his veins, even from under the blankets that had been pulled up high around his neck. The dark creature ran his tongue over his lips, nearly losing himself in an imagined fantasy of the boy's flavour. "Oh yes", he decided. He would have this one for sure.
But morning came as it so often did, and light had long forced the hungry vampire back into his shadow world, leaving behind no trace that anything had been there before. And Ryou, having woken, showered and dressed had no idea that anything had been watching him. He was now working on removing tangles from his hair, and thinking back to himself about the dream he had had the previous night. It had been...nice. He supposed...though he didn't really remember what it was supposed to have been about. That, in itself was odd - he usually had a fairly good memory for his subconcious musings.
Suddenly, his doorbell rang. Thumping downstairs with brush in hand, he flung open the door to see his best friend, Jounouchi Katsuya standing outside and looking sheepish.
"Eh, sorry Ryou. I know I'm early...am I being clingy again?" The blonde boy looked Ryou straight in the eyes as he said this - which was the one and only testament to his former bravado-struck self. Ever since Yuugi Mutou had dissapeared, Jounouchi had become very quiet...very quiet indeed. Although he had kept a close relationship with Honda and Anzu, as well as occasionally keeping a corespondance up with Mai and their other friends, Jounouchi made it clear he preferred to seek out Ryou, who provided a quieter, and less love-struck companionship.
The loss of his boyfriend had been hard on Jounouchi. It hadn't been hard to see why Yuugi had taken such a shine to Jounouchi. After all - he had been the first person his own age that the smaller boy had ever been able to share anything personal with...however nobody had even considered the idea that that devotion on Yuugi's part had been anything to do with love. Especially not Jounouchi. In the end though, he had agreed to 'humour' the smaller boy, and that act of kindness had blossommed above and beyond until even Jounouchi himself couldn't defend his own claim that the obvious affection he had shown was a "soft-spot"
Honda and Anzu had become an item just prior to that development. It had taken Anzu awhile to get used to the idea of the small multi-coloured haired boy and Jounouchi together - seemed she'd really had feelings for him. However, Honda's kind offer for an evening out to cheer her up had turned into a desperate confession of love. Those had been great times. Despite all of Jounouchi's attempts to set him up on a date with that Mai lady they'd met in the Duelist Kingdom, it had never really quite worked out. They'd all had fun though...just enjoyed eachother's company. All of them togehter. And nobody was ever sad or angry or lonely
...and then...well, one night...
The oddest part about it was that there was no suicide or ransom note. There was no evidence of a struggle or a murder or even a run-away that friends or family could see...and most importantly there was no body. Jounouchi blamed himself of course. A thousand and one reasons spilled out of nowhere. Jounouchi hadn't been kind enough, he should have just gone with the idea of being a boyfriend right away. Maybe he shouldn't have tried to cook something besides ramen.
"Ryou," he would sometimes say, out of the clear blue, though the conversation to follow was one of many repeats. "...was it my fault?"
And Ryou's answer was always the same. Then they would spend the day together reading quietly...which didn't fit Jounouchi at all. Not...in the slightest.
But that was what life was after Yuugi had gone. It seemed sort of wrong, as Anzu had said - to go out and have fun without him, not even knowing what had happened. So...the mass happy get-togethers were a thing of the past. Sometimes Honda and Anzu, sometimes he and sometimes Mai would drag him out of the house - to a movie...to...well, anywhere. They tried. They failed. Nobody blamed them.
Jounouchi however, seemed somewhat delighted today as they walked to school. That would be a good sign Ryou decided. "So, um, what's up?" he asked, hoping that his hunch was right.
"I saw Yuugi!" Jounouchi blurted.
Whatever Ryou had been expecting, it wasn't that.
"I mean, it was just a dream, but...it felt real." a pause. "...it was more than just a "very real dream" acctually." he continued in a more serious fashion.
"It was like Yuugi was right there. Outside my window. Impossible I know, but I let him in right? And...we..." he trailed off, but Ryou got the idea.
"Well...good dreams are good dreams. I think I had one myself, but I don't remember it.
Jounouchi didn't seem to listen, and prattled on about his experience the rest of the day. At least he was happy. He even agreed to do homework with Anzu and Honda...also a good sign.
And, when it was time to go back to bed that night, Ryou ferverently hoped that Jounouchi would have another dream...if that made him happy.
He would wish the opposite by the end of the night.

"Come here...pretty one....come.....come to the window..."
Ryou listened closely. The voice was not a smooth one, but it rang clear in his ears. "Come...yes, that sounded like a good idea. The window."
From his vantage point, hovering outside of Ryou's window, the demon smiled a wicked smile. it had been too easy to get inside this young creature's mind...such an easy meal.
With an effort, Ryou unbolted his window. He did not find it at all odd that a bat-winged humanoid was hovering outside his window. The creature's hair hung in golden spires around his eyes and peaked in a volcano of black and gold. Eyes burned a baleful red, and his lean body was nearly dwarfed by the massive bat wings. He - for the creature was clearly male, bore a peaceful expression as he hung there in mid-air, massive wings making a leathery noise as they beat the air. Ryou continued to stare as though giant demons hung outside his window in the wee hours of the morning on a regular basis.
"Let me in pretty one..." the voice hissed, lips parting to reveal a row of glistening needle point fangs. Ryou decided that was a good idea too, despite the fangs.
"Please...come in..." he droned, moving back so that the creature could heave it's massive wings through the relatively small opening.
Yami - for that was the vampire's name - smiled, and moved around to the boy's other side. He'd come up with this one after he'd found Yuugi...the Yuugi creature had looked so remarkably like him, he couldn't resist just grabbing him. Now, hands clenched onto this silver-haired boy's shoulders and the smell of blood invading his senses, the last thing he would ever have thought possible was to want something else.
...or maybe that wasn't so impossible. Stroking his chin with a long finger nail, Yami spoke in his steam-hiss voice to the still mind-drugged boy.
"Come on pretty, take off your clothes."
Once again the Vampire marvelled at how easy it was. All he needed to do was ask, and in the next moment, Ryou's boxers hit the floor.
Yami sucked in a sharp breath, eyeing the unaware boy closely. He looked absolutely edible, but - a test run would be in order. Deftly unzipping his pants, he ordered the ever-compliant Ryou to him. The boy lowered to his knees and took Yami's length into his mouth. The dark vampire guided Ryou's lips and tongue with his own mind power, however the feel of this silver-haired boy's mouth was incredible...and if this was just his mouth...well...
Without warning, Ryou reached up and grabbed Yami's hips for leverage. Mind-control had never been Yami's specialty - hence why he preyed upon those with weak minds. It was entirely possible that some of the boy's natural instinct was shining through...or maybe it was just an unconcious reaction. That looked like an uncomfortable position. Having never been in it himself, Yami had no idea...but he did let out another hiss of pleasure as the speed of Ryou's ministrations increased.
After Yami had fully satisfied himself with this pleasure, he very carefully re-dressed and ordered Ryou to do the same. He would probably have to finish the job himself later - after all, he couldn't very well leave any unexplained messes. He did however grab a small snack before he left, but not enough to leave the boy anything but over-tired tomorrow.
He would be back though. Any time he liked for he had been invited in...and he would watch...Ah. Ryou. Yes, he would watch Ryou. He might make a nice pet.
