Chapter 5: Shut Eye
You were walking back to your shack when you had a funny feeling come over you. `That's weird, I usually don't have emotions.' You shrugged it off as you turned a different direction. You headed towards the park. `I really need to find a place nice and quiet.'
The feeling washed over you again as you sat down on a bench in the park you were at. You shivered. "What the heck is wrong with me?" You were talking to yourself again. Bakura's face popped into your mind as you shuddered again. "Why can't I get his face out of my mind? I swear he glued it there or something." You closed
Your eyes in the sun as the heat beat down on your face. You couldn't feel it, but it sure was nice to be in the light again.
`His smile…..it so' Cute? `Who the heck are you?' I am your mind, intellect or anything else you want to call me. `But I don't have a mind anymore.' What are you talking about girl? You have a mind, how else would you make your decisions with me? `With you? What are you talking about?' Never mind, now where were we? Ah yes…the hot stuff Bakura. `He is not hot.' Oh yes he is, whatever I say goes. `NO….no...I have my own mind and you are not in it!' Oh yes I am. `Get out of here!' I can't, you are me and I am you. `Leave me alone!' Bakura is sexy isn't he? "Leave me alone!" You accidentally yelled out loud and slapped your hands over your mouth. I looked around and a couple of people walking by stared at you.
"Talking to yourself again?" a male's voice that you recognized sounded behind you.
You got from the bench and started walking away. "Hey where are you goin? I just got here." They grabbed your arm and pulled you onto the bench again. You caught a glimpse of their pointy silver hair.
"Leave me alone Bakura."
"Is that the greeting I get for being the king?"
You looked at him in the face, "The greeting you gave me wasn't exactly warming earlier either. And you are not a king to me, and never will be."
He smirked, "Well then I might just have to change that."
You looked away from his chocolate eyes and stood up, "Just leave me along Bakura. I have no emotions so stop toying with my already confused mind." You took a step and broke into a run towards the trees. Bakura sat on the bench watching you run.
`So ___ has emotions….well then……… I guess I passed my powers onto her as planned. No wonder she is different.' He smirked, `She is attractive come to think of it….Wait, WHAT AM I SAYING!'
You didn't know where you were running to, but all you knew was that you had to get away from Bakura as fast as you could.
"This isn't fair….What is happening to me?"
You came to the river you had been at hours before. You followed it till you couldn't walk any further. You sat down at the river's edge. All of a sudden you grew tired from running and the lack of sleep. After all you were up since the other night at eleven pm. You laid your head on the grass as you closed your eyes in the sun's rays.
You quickly opened them so you wouldn't fall asleep. You sat up; you had a strange feeling that someone was watching you. You got from the ground and started looking around in the trees. You trembled again as you frantically searched through the trees with your eyes. You were looking for someone watching you in the shadows, but you saw nothing. Your back was turned while you were trying not to strain your eyes as much when something grabbed you from behind.
"What is a pretty girl like you doing alone in a forest?" A man had your hands behind your back. (a/n: Ha you though I was gonna say Bakura didn't you? Well I would've) You couldn't smell anything but you knew that the man holding you was drunk. He put a knife to your throat as you yelped when his hand started going up your back.
"Let go of me," you started to struggle as he pressed the knife harder into your neck. You didn't want to hurt the man, but you had to do something. You couldn't let him find out that you were a vampire when he finally cuts your throat and realizes that you are not dead and no blood is dripping down your neck.
You started yelling at the top of your dead lungs, "SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!"
"It's not use; no one can hear you out here." He covered your mouth with a cloth and tied it in the back of your head with one hand while the other held your hands.
"Let her go before you suffer the pain that you are causing her." You looked in front of you; Bakura was standing a few feet away from an oak tree and three yards away from you and the man gripping your hands tight so you couldn't get away.
"Bakura!" You almost jumped for joy. But as you know you had no emotions. Before you knew it Bakura lunged as the man and bit into him.
Moments later Bakura was pulling you off the ground while the body was turning to dust. He helped you onto your feet and pulled the cloth off your face so you could talk.
"Next time, just bite him." You leapt into his arms and hugged him for no reason at all. You could smell the sweet tangy smell of blood. You couldn't feel anything up until this moment; it was like you was mortal again. You could smell him. You could smell Bakura. You could feel him. You could feel Bakura. You could feel his silky slivery hair and the smooth texture of his skin. You could smell the strong sense of cologne that hid the bloody stench and the heat that was escaping his body.
You let go in a heart beat and stepped back. You hung your head low, "I am sorry, I over reacted my lord." You bowed in front of him.
"I thought you said I was never your king and never will be?"
"I did, I just don't want to die right now."
"Die for what?" He stood there watching you bow before his feet.
"Hugging you." You waited for the pain in the pit of my stomach, but it never came. You felt your chin being cupped as Bakura lifted your body with your chin. The sensations that you felt and smelled before washed over you again like a wave. You had feelings for this demon each time you was around him and didn't notice till now.
You were staring into chocolate caramel eyes before you realized that you were leaning forward towards his mouth. You stepped back with fear growing in your eyes, but it suddenly disappeared as Bakura let go of your chin. You tripped and fell on your caboose, but got up with a staring Bakura looking at you. He wanted to know why you were acting the way you were. You were standing for a second before you took off again. This time you headed towards the shack and you made sure you got there this time.
You walked into the shack that you called your house and opened the door. Yami, Seto and Joey were of course asleep upstairs, because they can't get into the sunlight without dying. You walked over to your couch and laid down.
"What is happening to me? I actually felt like a mortal when Bakura touched me. Why? Why do I feel like I have butterflies in my stomach whenever I am around him? I can't feel emotion, am I changing back into a mortal again?" You were asking the questions that zoomed in your head over and over again out loud.
Your eyes were going fuzzy from the lack of sleep. You closed your eyes and slept on the couch till your nightmare came to haunt you again.
