"Tell me why we're doing this again?" Anzu whined as the group of four walked through the mall on Saturday. It was a daily ritual for the small group to go to the arcade but Yami said he wanted to check out something in Sanity, one of the local music stores. And of course, the group couldn't help but oblige to his wishes. She gave a small smile when Tristan wrapped a comforting arm around her before glaring slightly at the ex-Pharaoh's back. Something had been wrong with him ever since that new kid showed up at school......Marik, Malik and Isis's cousin, right? Totally a sex god in her eyes and the way the Ishtal had looked at her just screamed "catch me if you can". Something was familiar about him though but she couldn't place it. Ah well, she was happy with Tristan for the meantime before a new slab of meat came along that she could sink her teeth, and claws, into.

"I want to check a new CD out at the shop, Anzu, that's all. Once I'm done we can go." Yami didn't look back, he could feel her cold-hearted blue gaze on him and he didn't want to turn around and face it. It was her fault -- and Tristan's -- that Yuugi had become what he'd seen on Friday. A cold-hearted predator, a stalking panther prowling around its prey before going in for the kill. He winced slightly as a shiver went up his spine, never quite getting over the feeling of having fingers shoved up his ass. He had never felt so......dirty before, so......used. There was a light tap on his shoulder and he jumped slightly, turning around and facing Katsuya. "Yeah?"

//You built it up and tear it down, there's no reason to follow you

You left the song without a sound, you left the story I made for you

Softly angels bow and cry in the stillness of the night//

"You okay, man? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem kinda......weirded out." Katsuya frowned. Yesterday when the group had gone over for the mid-afternoon duel, the ex-Pharaoh hadn't wanted to. In fact, it almost looked like he'd been......crying. There had been a purple-blue mark on his neck, something the blonde identified as a hickey but when Tristan had asked about it, Yami had turned away, telling them to go. Katsuya could kind of guess who the tears had been for but he wasn't going to say anything while Anzu and Tristan were around. The two had seemed to have forgotten all about little Yuugi.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little paranoid," Yami replied as they reached the music store and he immediately began to head to the punk-rock section. Katsuya raised an eyebrow, but followed him anyway, the other two going to their own sections together. "Hey man, last time I looked you didn't listen to punk-rock," the blonde said as they both scanned the letters before crimson orbs stopped on S. Yami's fingers clipped through the CD racks before he came upon it, picking it up and showing it to his best friend. Katsuya stared as a recognizing dawned upon him when he looked at the front cover. It was Yuugi, laying on his stomach, gloved hand holding his head up while the left's fingers curled around a knife that gently dripped with blood, making ripples over the CD title/band name. From what they could tell, he was naked, leaving nothing to the imagination and lying in a pool of the liquid the same colour as Yami's eyes, shrouded by a shadow. His dark bloodstones were looking elsewhere, as if contemplating something with a cold smile on his blackened lips. The Change of Heart was tattooed on his left shoulder while below it the KaibaCorp logo.

Katsuya blinked, entranced by the image as he swallowed, looking at Yami with wide eyes. "......Yuugi.........?" The ex-Pharaoh nodded before a voice interrupted them from behind. "What about the little shrimp?" It was Tristan. The two turned, showing the couple the CD cover. Anzu blinked, wrapping an arm around her brunette boyfriend's while sneering. "Still a pathetic little weakling if you ask me."

"Mazaki, that "pathetic little weakling" just so happens to be the new kid in my classes," Yami growled out, some kind of protectiveness coming through. He still hadn't forgiven her or her little boy toy for what they'd done. She looked almost shocked, like she was going to throw up. 'Ugh, I called the SHRIMP a SEX GOD?! What the Hell is wrong with me?!?!' "He's even more of a freak than before." She shook her head, glaring at the duo. "Put it down before you get a disease or something from it."

A resounding slap echoed through the store, making people stop and stare. Anzu held her red cheek, looking up somewhat fearfully at the ancient one who had slapped her. Crimson orbs glared at her. "Mazaki, I'm tired of your indecent babbling. You have no right to make assumptions about him, you barely even knew him before you threw him away like trash. It's your fault he's not here with us, it's your fault he's like that, it's your fault he changed his name so stop being a whiny slut who can't decide what sort of man she wants. All those friendship speeches you made in Duelist Kingdom and you can't even keep true to one of them! GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE BEFORE I SEND YOUR SOUL TO HELL WHERE IT BELONGS!!" he screamed, making her scramble behind her boyfriend. Katsuya crossed his arms over his chest, quite enjoying the show -- for once he was glad he was on Yami's side. He turned crimson orbs onto Tristan, who flinched. "Your little boy toy won't save you this time, Mazaki, he's in as much trouble as you are. And you know I have the power to back up my threats." The tri-haired teen stalked away from them over to the cash register, his best friend following. Mazaki and Hiroto high-tailed it out of the music store.

They didn't even notice the teen they passed in their haste to get away from the furious Yami, the one leaning against a wall with headphones to his ears, listening to some hard rock before lifting his head. Yumah smirked darkly, leaning off the wall and following the couple out of the mall in a different direction and a quick walk, hands in his pockets. So his little darkling had finally shoved them away, hm? 'Well, that just put a monkey wrench into the whole works,' he thought to himself, dark bloodstones narrowing somewhat. 'But I might also be able to put it to my advantage......' his mind purred as an after-thought, tongue rolling across his blackened lips. The Pharaoh no Baka would get the reputation he deserved, yes indeed.........

"We're back, grandpa," Yami announced as he and Katsuya entered the turtle game shop. Sugoroku looked down from the ladder he was standing on, smiling slightly. It seemed all the life had drained out of the old man since his grandson, his only living relative, had run away. "Welcome back. Where's Anzu and Tristan?" he asked as Katsuya helped him down from the ladder. "I don't quite give a damn where they are," Yami growled out, startling them somewhat. The former Pharaoh dug into his parcel before producing the CD he'd purchased and handing it over to Sugoroku. "Take a look and tell me who you think that is, grandpa."

His old violet eyes widened at the image before a gasp of recognition escaped. "Yuugi......" the old man whispered, thumb trailing across the case as tears welled up. Yami leant against the countertop much like his hikari had done yesterday in the boy's toilets at school. "He goes by the name of Yumah Ishtal now. He's in our school but nothing like how we remember him. He......it's hard to describe it." 'Especially after what he did to me yesterday,' he thought with a cold shiver.

Sugoroku had turned the CD cover over to look at the song titles on the back, tears spilling over at the thought that his pure, innocent grandson had come to this, reading the titles out loud. "Darkness Inside, Mou Hitori no Ore, Die Another Day, Somewhere I Belong, Innocence, Twilight, What You Don't See, Tainted Love, Sweet Dreams, And One, Part Of Me and Morning After." He walked behind the counter and sat on the stool behind it, placing his head in his hands before raking them through his hair and sighing. "Yuugi........."

Katsuya picked up the CD and looked the back over before noticing one corner had the band members. "Hey, check this out. Ishtal Yumah; guitarist/vocalist, Ishtal Marik; electric guitar/back-up vocals, Bakura Murasame; bass/back-up vocals, Bakura Ryou; keyboardist, Kaiba Mokuba; drummer." The bell above the door allowed them to hear the customer entering and they looked towards the teenager, not recognizing them before they raised their head.

Mokuba smirked as he freed his short black spikes from the hooded jacket he was wearing, noticing their looks. His jacket was red and short-sleeved, revealing the long-sleeved black turtleneck shirt the Kaiba wore underneath like his elder brother had done during Battle City. He wore hip-hugging black jeans and biker boots, his neck laced with a diamond-studded collar and hands covered by fingerless leather gloves. Seto had given him the pet collar as their relationship ran deeper than just brotherly love. "Well," Mokuba started to say as he moved over to the yaoi/shounen ai comic book section, fingers trailing the names. "Never thought I'd see the inu and the oh-so-wonderful game king again. But of course it's just one of those days when your normal shops don't carry your favourite yaoi manga, I suppose."

//Sometimes you laugh, sometimes you cry and yes I've cried over you

You left me blind in paradise

You've left me hungering for the touch of you

Snow-white angels run and hide in the blackness of the night//

Katsuya blinked, raising a blonde eyebrow. "Aren't you a little too young to read yaoi?" Mokuba snorted, picking out a duel monsters one between the Blue-Eyes Gejinka, Black Magician and Elfin Swordsman. "I'm picking it up for Seto, Katsuya no yarou." A look came into the fourteen-year-old's blue-grey eyes and Yami recognized it as the one Yumah had given him yesterday after kissing him. "He needs it for our more......experienced nights together." Before anybody could ask anything else, he walked over to the counter and placed the right amount of yen on top before turning to go to the door. A look came onto his face, as if he just remembered something.

"Oh, I almost forgot." Carefully placing the manga between his pursed lips, Mokuba dug around in his jacket and pulling out two black envelopes, sealed with blood-red wax, handing them to Yami and Katsuya after taking the manga out from between his lips. "Invites to the next gig at the club, which is tonight," the small teen said. "You guys should consider yourself lucky, y'know? Yumah-kun was thinking about not inviting you but it seems you made the list this time. Our club's confidential, only certain people can come." Mokuba ran his free hand through his black spikes. "You must have really impressed him yesterday, Pharaoh no Bakamono, I'll make sure not to miss the next one. Oh, and you might want to change into something more appropriate. This is a master/slave club where anything, and I do mean anything, goes."

Without saying anything else, Mokuba left.

Katsuya looked at the ancient one, confusion dancing in his chocolate-brown depths. "What did he mean by impressing him yesterday, Yami?" Yami shook his head, giving his best friend a reassuring smile. "Nothing, Katsuya." 'Nothing you need to concern yourself with anyway.' He turned towards Sugoroku, who had looked just as surprised about what Mokuba had said as the two of them. "Grandpa......"

The old man blinked and smiled slightly. "Yes, Yami, you may go. Just don't hurt yourself, okay? Promise me you'll try and bring Yuugi home." Yami bowed his head slightly in contemplation. 'I don't think it's possible to turn aibou away from what he has chosen. I took everything away from him.........Ra, Yuugi, if I had a way to turn back time I would but right now I can only try and believe that there is still that sweet innocence left in you......that your soul isn't tainted.' "Sure, grandpa."

Katsuya meanwhile, was reading the invitation he had received that was written in blood-red ink::

Katsuya Jounouchi,

You have been chosen out of the many teenagers in Domino City and beyond to join us tonight in Karasu Club at 9:00 sharp till 4:00 in the morning. Many others don't receive your privileges for various reasons. Please keep in mind that this is a master/slave club, meaning you should choose a slave to bring. Should you choose to be the slave otherwise, you must find a master. Come dressed appropriately.
