Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ In the Ocean of my Heart ❯ Chapter 4, We Love You, Jounouchi ( Chapter 4 )
Chapter 4, We Love You, Jounouchi
A/N: (1) Raphael means "God has healed" or means "God's healing." Raphael is one of the chief archangels who stands by God's throne. He heals the diseases and wounds of humanity. He is healing and kind to all living beings. He is the regent of the sun and Chief of the order of Virtues. He carries a golden vial of balm, used for healing humanity and the earth. Yugi uses that balm to heal Jounouchi, as he's the incarnation of Raphael.
* * * Yami's POV
A/N: (1) From what I've read, when toxins such as drugs and alcohol are ingested, the energy field around the body, usually bright and clear, turns muddy or black, showing damage done to the body. Also, through Reiki and other forms of healing, toxins can be pushed out of the body, and into the aura, to be cleared and removed. That's what Yugi does, when he applies the balm to Jounouchi.
(2) The third eye is the center of intuition, located between our eyebrows. People who have this physic eye opened have second sight, or auric vision, and are able to see auras, the energy fields around people, as bright colors. Some people with second sight can see spirits and angels too. Yugi, opens up this physic eye in Jounouchi so he sees the damage he's doing to himself, by drinking.
(3) Baka means stupid. It's very harsh in Japanese.
I love you.

Ten minutes passed since Aibou went to Yuugi's room to speak with Zadkiel. I left Yuugi to watch over Jounouchi, while I went to check up on Aibou. I peeked into Yuugi's room through a small crack in the door. Both Aibou and Zadkiel sat on the floor, in a state of deep meditation. I didn't pick up on any telepathic conversations between them. What was going on?
Out of nowhere, a green flash of light blinded me. It came from Aibou. Then it flashed again. What I said before made sense now. "What Zadkiel means Aibou, is that this other self, sleeping inside of your physical body has the power to heal Jounouchi. But to use the power, this other self must be awakened first." This other self, that's slumbered inside him for so long is awakening now! It seems he's in the process of awakening this self, by physically transforming into it.
An even brighter flash of green light struck me, forcing me to shut my eyes. I opened them slightly, once the stunning light dimmed. A green light, glowing brightly, radiated outwards from Aibou, obscuring his form.
"At last, you have awakened, Raphael," said Zadkiel, smiling. "Now lower your energy level so you don't blind me," he chuckled, lowing his purple, magenta wings to protect his eyes.
Aibou did as Zadkiel asked, lowering his energy level. His clothing changed. He wore a slightly oversized, forest green colored tunic, made of satin. On his upper body, the cloth gathered around his underarms, and on his lower body it formed folds, in the places underneath his yellow-gold belt. Light green highlights played across the tops of the folds, and gathers where the light-struck. A soft green light, coming from his wings, hit the edges of his tunic as a refracted light, making the edges of his garment shimmer.
His overall wing size paled in comparison to the grandeur of Zadkiel's wings. But his small wing size was perfect, in proportion to his small, adorable figure. The inner areas of his wings, a light spring green deepened in hews to a verdant, leafy green in the outer part, and back of the wing. His feathers were short and thick, with the ends tipped in a emerald green, glowing softly. It was that light from his feather tips that refracted off his fine tunic, leaving me in awe of this celestial beauty.
Enchanted by his loveliness, I studied every detail of his accessories, from the thin reddish golden circlet on his forehead, with an emerald gem faceted in the middle, to his knee high, leather boots, stitched up the front with leathery string.
I crept into the room. I saw his eye color changed into a vivid green. The outer ring of his pools was black, like the facets of the emerald gem on his forehead. Moving in towards the middle area, the black transitioned into the main green tone of his eyes. Then, in the center of his eyes, his black pupils set off the main green tone. A twinkle in his eyes lit them up, showing them glow with love.
"My Aibou, my love," I whispered, remembering the first time we fell in love.
"My koi, my Yami," he whispered back, returning the smile.
"Shall we help Jounouchi-kun, koi?" I said, grinning.
He nodded, fluttering his little wings.
Zadkiel, Aibou and I returned to the living room to help Jounouchi. Yuugi stared in awe, bedazzled by my Aibou's celestial beauty. Aibou smiled at him, and then knelt by the couch to help Jounouchi. He took out a golden vial, removing the lid of the small container. The scent of a sweet, healing oil filled my nostrils and Yuugi's.
"The balm in this vial is what gives me the power to heal others," said Aibou, softly. "Once I rub it on Jounouchi-kun's forehead, it'll remove the alcohol from his body, by pushing it out into his aura (1)"
"Thank you so much for doing this. You don't how much it means to me!" exclaimed Yuugi, hugging him. My Aibou embraced him warmly, let him go and rubbed the balm on Jounouchi's forehead. The alcohol he drank left his body immediately, visible in his aura as a swirling black liquid.
"This is what poisoned my koi!" cried Yuugi, shocked to see the poison in his koi's aura.
"The alcohol keeps building in the body, until the aura is completely blackened, and the person dies from alcohol poisoning," I explained.
"I want to open Jounouchi-kun's third eye (2), so he can physically see the poison in his aura, and what alcohol does to him," Aibou said, desiring to make Jounouchi aware of the damage he did to his health.
"Good! Please! Maybe then, he will stop drinking, and I won't have to lose him," [Author ID1: at Tue Jun 17 19:57:00 2003 ]Yuugi [Author ID1: at Tue Jun 17 19:57:00 2003 ]said, feeling a sense of hope.
The tip of Aibou's finger touched the skin right between Jounouchi's brows to open his third eye. Jounouchi stirred, waking up finally. His eyes shot open, terrified to see the poisonous energy swirling in his aura.
"What is this crap!?" he wailed.
"The black stuff, its [Author ID1: at Tue Jun 17 19:58:00 2003 ]poison. You BAKA! You see what the alcohol you keep drinking does to you, Jou-kun! The more you drink, the more it builds up. So stop drinking or you'll end up killing yourself! And if you do---what'll happen to me. I'll be alone again, because you prefer to DRINK!" hissed Yuugi angrily, grabbing the collar of Jounouchi's shirt. "
"P, p, poison!?" he stammered.
"YES, BAKA (3)!" yelled Yuugi, pulling on Jounouchi's shirt collar even harder. "I LOVE you koi, and seeing you kill yourself like this makes me suffer! When Honda dragged you over here last week, you almost died. I cried for three days unable to SLEEP or EAT! [Author ID1: at Tue Jun 17 20:00:00 2003 ]Every time you get drunk, you're killing ME!
Jounouchi eyes filled with tears as he realized just how much suffering he caused his beloved. His throat tensed and closed up, making it difficult for him to speak. "I'm so sorry, koi. I drank like that ---because---" Jounouchi looked down, averting his gaze.
"Because!?" cried Yuugi, holding his hand.
"My father died," he said gravely, in a hushed voice.
Dead silence. Yuugi, Aibou, Zadkiel and I stared at each other in shock. No one said anything for the longest time. Only everyone's breathing was heard.
"I'm terribly sorry," Zadkiel spoke up at last, breaking the dead silence.
"Me too," I added, solemnly.
"Say something, Aibou," I said to him, mentally.
Aibou sighed. His large emerald eyes, full of pain, met mine. He moved his lips, unable to say anything.
"It's okay, ya don' have to say anything, little angel," said Jounouchi, glancing up at him. "I see the pain in yer eyes."
He sighed again, nodding to acknowledge what Jounouchi said.
"I know how you feel, Jounouchi-kun. Last year when Jii-chan died, I felt the same way," Yuugi said, in lowered tones.
"Yeah, but you handled it better than I did, koi," murmured Jounouchi, laying back.
"Don't be so hard on yourself, Jou-kun. His death is the first in your life [Author ID1: at Tue Jun 17 20:02:00 2003 ]that you've dealt with. Just remember, aishiteru (4), koi. You should've come to me. I would have held you, and let you cry in my arms. I want to be there when you * hurt *. Because, I'm in love with you, Jou-kun," replied Yuugi, sympathetically, his voice full of love towards his dear koi.
"I would of come to ya, but I didn't wanna cause you more pain. So I isolated myself. My pain was so great, that I drank `til I numbed out, and almost died. And I numbed out again, before we kissed today, and again, before I came over wanting to beat you up. You gotta know that I'd never want to hurt ya,. It's just that ya have every right to call off to call off our relationship," admitted Jounouchi, finally coming to his senses.
"I'd never do that Jou-kun, cause I love you," cried Yuugi, leaning on Jounouchi's shoulder. "We'll stay together if you promise me one thing."
Jounouchi paused, wondering what that one thing was.
"You stop drinking," said Yuugi, firmly.
"I." Jounouchi sat up, shaking his head. "I want to, but I can't! My father was an alcoholic his whole life. He tried to stop, but the withdrawal effects were so severe, he committed suicide." Jounouchi quivered with fear, as he spoke.
[Author ID1: at Tue Jun 17 20:04:00 2003 ]
"That's an excuse. If you want to, tell me and I'll help you. I don't want to lose you, Jou-kun, and I'll help you." Yuugi squeezed his hand tightly.[Author ID1: at Tue Jun 17 20:04:00 2003 ]
"Judging by the amount of black energy I see in your aura, you've only been drinking a short time," guessed Zadkiel, studying Jounouchi's energy field. "I don't think your withdrawal effects will be as severe as your father's. You're worried, you might die like he did, if you stopped drinking, are you not?" questioned Zadkiel, politely.
"Yeah, I am, angel," confessed Jounouchi, honestly. "I don't wanna die like he did!"
"You won't, Jou-kun," said Yuugi, trying to put his koi at ease. "I'm here for you, and so are my friends who came from Heaven and this other world."
"All of us will do everything we can, to help you, Jounouchi-kun!" Aibou's expression brightened, as that familiar twinkle returned, to shine in his emerald eyes.
"We love you, Jounouchi," said Zadkiel, sweetly, fluttering his large, grand wings.
"And I can concoct an ancient herbal remedy that'll help," I added, wanting to support Yuugi's koi.
Joey looked at them, his eyes traveling from face to face. Well, with so many new friends here to help me, I feel I can stop drinking, koi," promised Jounouchi. His expression was no longer sober, as he smiled at everyone around him.
* * * Yugi's POV
After I rubbed the balm on Jounouchi's forehead, I no longer needed to stay in my angel form. I returned to my human form, and Yami too, headed back into his soul room. Zadkiel decided to stay and help Jounouchi, so he too, took on a human form.
He looked through the fridge to find something to drink. He grinned at me, taking out a can of soda.
"Need help with it?" I offered, seated at the kitchen table.
He handed it to me. "Thanks. I was thinking, Yugi, normal people usually perceive the world around them, through their five senses. When someone's third eye is opened, their sensory perception expands, enabling them to use their sixth sense."
"Maybe that's what happened, when I opened Jounouchi-kun's third eye?" I guessed, returning his opened soda can.
He sat down, sipping his soda "I think so. Jounouchi became a lot more sensitive, to the feelings of others around him, especially Yuugi's, after you opened his third eye. That new, expanded awareness explains the sudden change in his behavior."
"Really? I had no idea!" I chucked, quite surprised. "I thought that when he saw the poison in his aura, that caused the change in him."
"I think, that too. What we did tonight was just the first step in healing him," Zadkiel made a funny face, feeling the soda bubble in his stomach.
"They don't have soda in Heaven?" I laughed, lightheartedly.
"Gods no!" he burped, falling back in his chair, laughing.
"I'm glad to see things have lightened up, Zadkiel-san, Yugi-san," said a sleepy voice, coming in. It was Yuugi. He looked tired. "Ready to sleep?"
I yawned, stretching my arms. "I think so."
"Me too," added Zadkiel, finishing his soda.
Yuugi led me to his room, and Zadkiel to Jii-chan's old room. He and Jounouchi shared his parent's room.
* * * Yuugi's POV
I set the alarm and turned off the lights.
"Yuug?" mumbled Jounouchi, lying next to me under the covers.
"Yes, koi?" I answered.
"Thanks fer saving me," he thanked.
"It wasn't me alone. Yugi-san, Zadkiel, and Yami-san helped me," I said in the dark to him, smiling.
"My new friends. Where'd they come from?" questioned Jounouchi, snuggling closer to me.
"Zadkiel-san's from Heaven. Yugi-san and Yami-san come from a parallel world," I replied, nuzzling my face into his warm neck.
"Why'd they come here?" asked Jounouchi, further.
"It all began a few days ago, after you left my yard. I cried and asked, can't someone help me, even God himself? At the same time, Yugi asked a higher power, if Yami could have a body, so they could love one another. In Heaven, Zadkiel heard our prayers. He came to us and said, if Yugi came to my world, and helped you stop drinking, I'd let Yami use my body in return, once you were better," I explained, kissing him softly on his neck.
"But isn't Yug from Heaven, too? He's an angel," murmured Jounouchi, kissing me lightly on my forehead.
I chuckled, brushing his sandy tendrils out of his eyes so I could kiss him back. "He's an angel, but an incarnated one, koi," I whispered, landing a kiss between his brows, on his new opened third eye.
"I think yer one too, Yuug," he replied, affectionately, cupping my left cheek with his hand.
"Me?" I said, feeling his thin lips pressing against the apple of my left cheek, in a loving kiss.
"I just know it, koi," he said, full of love, running his fingers through my hair.
Me? An angel?
* * * Yami's POV
That night, I dreamed about the first time Aibou and I met.
I led a group of hunters, through knee-deep snow to kill anything we could find. I left them, following a separate set of animal tracks, into a densely wooded area. The tracks ended, when I came to a large clearing. There, I spotted a deer, dying in the snow. I'd lunged at it, ready to kill my pray.
At the same time, a fierce beast leapt out, alighting in the snow few feet in front of me. It snarled, curling up its lips to reveal a set two, long curving fangs. A saber tooth cat!
This deer was my prey, and I refused to give it up. The feline sensed that, narrowing its slanted eyes. "You'd better leave!" its gleaming eyes, seemed to say. "No! This prey [Author ID1: at Tue Jun 17 20:08:00 2003 ]is MINE!!" I yelled aloud, waving my spear at it.
The feline swiped its paws at me, knocking my spear out of my hands. Then, it sunk its pair of long nasty fangs into my stomach, tearing through my flesh. I screamed at the top of my lungs, feeling my body shudder in a wave of excruciating agony. The cat released its gasp on me, took the dead deer in his jaws, and dragged it away. I fell over buried in the snow. Soon, I passed out from the extreme cold and loss of vital fluids.
Sometime later, I heard the flapping of a wing cut through the chilly air. Another flap. The beating of wings came closer. Something lifted me from the snow, into its arms. It fluttered its wings once more, taking off into the air with me.
* * *An hour later.
A/N: (1) Neanderthals.
(2) Homo Sapiens, who appeared about 100,000-150,000 years ago.
I was partially conscious. I heard the crackling of a fire. I smelled some kind of sweet scent. I felt some liquid burning in my open wounds. I howled, "It hurts, it hurts!" hearing my cry echo about me. I was in a cave.
"I know it hurts," said a gentle, warm voice. "I have to keep rubbing this balm in until your wounds close, so try to stay still."
I wailed over and over as the person applied his palm to my wounds. When the burning stopped, it felt the wounds closed. I ran one of my hands over my stomach. The skin felt smooth. I opened my eyes to see myself, lying beside a small fire. I saw I was near the cave entrance.
"Are you okay?" asked the tender voice, again.
I turned around to see the most beautiful human I ever laid eyes upon. He looked identical to me, except for a few golden stripes in his hair. His eye color differed too, a bright vivid green, instead of crimson.
"Thank you for saving me," I said, glancing at his wings and clothes. "You're not from around here, eh?"
He chuckled, relaxing on the dusty cave floor.
"Where are you from?" I asked.
He got up off the floor, brushing the dust off his clothes. I followed him outside of the cave. He looked up, pointing at the sky above us.
"Up there!?" I gasped.
He nodded. "From Heaven."
"Heaven, eh?" I repeated, not sure what to think.
"It's a far away place where all the angels in the universe come from," he said, grinning. "In Heaven, I was the regent of the sun, and Chief of the order of Virtues. I was always busy, never having a moment to relax. I told God how exhausted it made me. So God let me leave, but said one day, I must return."
God? He must be the chief of this person's tribe, I figured. But what brought him here, to this far away place. I asked him.
"Shortly after I left Heaven, another angelic friend of mine, Uriel, told me about an evolving planet named Earth. He said a new, intelligent species just evolved there," he piped, fluttering his little wings excitedly. "I came here to find this new species. When I did, they grunted at me, threw stones, then fled (1)."
I laughed, lightheartedly. "Their afraid of anyone who's not like they are. My tribe calls them the Ice People."
"They're definitely not the species Uriel talked about," chuckled the winged one, sweetly. "I think your people are (2)."
"My people?" I wondered.
He nodded. "When a new species evolves, that has the ability to believe in a power greater than itself, they possess a spiritual intelligence. Species that more primitive, like the Ice People, lack this intelligence."
"That means my people are smarter?" I questioned, heading back into the cave with the winged one.
"In a spiritual way. That's what makes your people unique," he replied, with a cute wink.
I understood some of what he said. We sat down, warming ourselves by the dying fire.
"Are you going to stay here, umm." I murmured.
"My angel name's Raphael, but you can call me Yugi," he said, smiling at me.
"Yugi. What a nice name. I'm Yami," I said, smiling back.
He snuggled next to me, wrapping his wings around me. I felt so warm, as his feather's trapped the fiery heat. He rested his head on my shoulder. I looked at him, drifting into his emerald eyes, watching the small flames dance in them.
He too, gazed at the fire light in my ruby eyes, seeming to set them on fire. "Now that I've met you, Yami, I'll stay," he said, softly, fixated on the fire in my eyes.
"Yugi." My breathing deepened, and my heart beat faster as he lifted from my shoulder. He pressed his cheek to mine, moving onto my lap. I slid one hand around his waist, pulling him closer to me. With my other hand, I supported the back of his tender neck.
I felt his steamy breath hit my lips. Closer, hotter came the steam. Our eyes shut at the same time. Then I felt it. Skin to skin, and lip to lip, he captured me in the deepest, sweetest dream like kiss.
Our fist kiss, that was the day I met Aibou, falling in love with him. Since then, we've spent many beautiful lifetimes together. He's my koi, my beloved Aibou, the one who I hold most dearly in my heart.
* * * Yugi's POV
That first kiss, the first time we met, it all came back to me, so vividly as if it just happened. I love him, and I always will, forever. I'm afraid I'll have to leave him when I return to Heaven. I don't want to. My heart desires to be with him, more than anything.
"Being with you Aibou, means everything to me," said my love gently, watching over me by my bedside. I awoke to the sound of his loving voice.
I felt sorrowful, when I thought about leaving him. He saw it in my eyes.
"My dear Aibou, what's wrong?" he asked, lovingly.
I couldn't bring myself to say it. It'd break his beautiful heart. All I could do was burry my face in my pillow and cry.
My sobs must have woken up everyone else. Yuugi came in running. He turned on the lights.
"What happened?" he questioned, full of worry.
"I'm not quite sure, Yuugi," answered Yami, also worried about me. "If he woke you up, I apologize."
"He didn't, I've been awake for the past hour," replied Yuugi, thinking about something else.
"Something else is bothering you. Tell me, please," begged Yami, apprehensively.
"It's Jou-kun!" cried Yuugi, panicked. "He broke out into a sweat and he's shaking really badly!"
"It's the withdrawal symptoms," said Zadkiel, coming in after Yuugi. "And it's severer than I thought. Yami, make that herbal remedy, NOW!" urged Zadkiel, trying to stay calm.
"I need to use Aibou's body, so I can physically make it," Yami answered.
"But he's crying. Use my body, instead," insisted Yuugi, still shaken up.
"See that sennen puzzle he's wearing? Put it on and I can use your body," Yami said, quickly, frantic to help Jounouchi.
My counterpart gently lifted the puzzle from around my neck, wearing it. Yami entered his body, took over, then hurried downstairs.
