Prologue- October 13

Dear Journal,

I remember that day so clearly, just like it was yesterday. The date was October 13; I had gone to my room after a long day of hard work. When I entered my room, a single black rose lay on my bed. Next to it was a note, it said:

When the sun will sleep

And the moon will play

She will awake.

Her lips a deep blood red,

Her skin shimmering like the moon,

And her eyes as green as envy herself.

The Goddess of the Night!

I couldn't tell who wrote but just then he appeared in my doorway. He started to trail kisses down my neck and then he reached that certain place. That place in your neck where a vein rushes with crimson red blood. I could feel a sharp pain and then all went black. When I awoke all I could think off was….blood.

It is now years after that dreadful day. The rumors I have heard about my kind disgust me. People say that garlic and crosses drive us away. That one way to kill us is to drive a stake through our hearts. And my favorite, that sunlight will surely turn us to dust! But I tell you this, it is all wrong! My people are like everyone else except for one thing, they live on … BLOOD! Yes, I am a vampire. My people call me the Goddess of the Night, the Queen of the Damned. I am your worst nightmare. I am your deepest fears. I am … in love.
