DISCLAIMERS
1. I sure as hell don't own YU-GI-OH!, though I do own a deck!!! :)
2. Bakura-haters, stay away!
Flames are NOT allowed…
" I don't know what to do…" a platinum blonde boy sat in the darkened room, on the floor. On a shelf, on the other side of the room, lay a peculiar, circular pendant: The Millennium Ring.
"I can't control him anymore. Every time I get rid of that blasted ring, it finds its way back! I HATE IT!!" Then, he whispered, "I wish I'd never got that stupid thing.
<Don't be a fool, Bakura!>
"What?" The Ring glowed eerily, and a second figure had appeared. At first glance, it looked exactly like me, but it was wearing the Ring. Also, there was an evil look in his narrow eyes.
<You can't stop it, and you sure as hell can't control me! Do you know what it's like, locked in there for centuries? Soon, you will! >
As my evil alter ego disappeared, I thought about the Ring.
An ancient Egyptian item, it had come to me through my father, who'd bought it there. At first, I'd worn it because it looked cool, and then, the spirit, or soul, whatever it was, that was locked inside, came out.
And I can no longer control it…
"I'm going nuts. I know it doesn't look that way, but I feel it in my bones. Many times, I've contemplated suicide, but my love of Dueling has always held me back.
Because I want, ME, not "him", to duel Yugi Motou, and his alter ego.
Yugi. I envy him and his Millennium Item, the Millennium Puzzle. He instantly controlled it, he never had to deal with what I go through every…fucking…day!" Bakura added, punctuating his last three words with fists banging the floor.
"BAKURA, GO TO BED, YOU HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW!" he did not answer.
<You're a coward and a fool.>
"Shut up!"
I threw the Ring, which had found its way into his hand, out the window, knowing that was useless, and went to bed, dropping into a dreamless sleep.
Sure enough, the Ring was on my nightstand the next morning. I did not put it on. I did grab my deck, my backpack, and I walked to school. I went out the window, not wanting to confront my mother about what was happening to me.
I got a few good duels in. Joey Wheeler, mainly. Despite the loss of his precious Red Eyes Black Dragon, he still had a strong deck. He beat me twice, with Time Wizard, his lucky card, given to him by Yugi. And once with The Thousand Dragon. Joey's birthday was coming up, and I had an idea…
Meanwhile, Yugi was dueling Tristan. Yugi won, narrowly. Then, Tea played him. She was crushed. Bakura couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Then, Joey. They drew three times. Then, Bakura took a turn.
"Yugi, I want you to do me a favor.
What's that?" Yugi asked, his open face full of happiness, and concern. I had not been getting enough sleep, and he could tell.
"I want you to use your Millennium Puzzle.
And you, your Ri-
-NO. You use your Puzzle, and I'll duel you." I snapped
"But…
I'm NOT using it!"
"All right, then." He said as his item, a pyramid-like medallion, began to glow, and spin. He closed his eyes. The Eye glowed on his forehead for just an instant, and when his eyes opened, it was his alter ego.
"Yu-gi-Oh…" I whispered.
"What did he say?" Joey asked Tristan. Tea answered
"He said…King of Games."
"Wow."
And we dueled. He played Dark Magician, and Summoned Skull. I attacked with my Man-eater Bug, then I used Change of Heart, my favorite card, on his Dark Magician. As he fielded another Monster, I realized that he was extremely skilled. He countered my Change of Heart with a Dark Hole. As I was the only one with Monsters on the field, it hurt me quite a bit. I was down to 2500 life points, out of 8000. I played Cure Master, and I equaled him, at 3500. He used Monster Reborn, and I used Grave Robber to retrieve my Change of Heart. The Bell rang. He won by 500 pts.
That evening, I decided to do it. I snuck into the living room, and retrieved something out of my dad's old office, then snuck back into my room.
<What are you doing?>
I did not reply.
<No! Don't even…>
"I'm sick of it! I'm going insane, and I CAN'T FUCKING TAKE IT ANYMORE!" I screamed. I put my deck in a small box, labeled "To deliver to Yugi Motou" And his address. In another box, he slipped a bunch of cards: a Red Eyes, Summoned Skull, Metamorph, and the relevant fusion cards. This one, he labeled "To deliver to Joey Wheeler" and Joey's address.
"I can't stand this insanity! For years, this thing's been gnawing at my mind, and I've had it!"
<What the f…
He was interrupted by a gunshot, as I pulled the trigger. And as I fell, my last thought was that, at last, I'd be free from him forever.
It was finally over…
The End!
