Ok, I'm on a roll. Here's chapter four. This chapter is gonna have major angst and violence in it. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Yugi refused to talk to Yami the next day. It was Saturday and everyone was scheduled to meet at the park for pizza. Otogi insisted on a rematch with Jou but which he automatically accepted.

"Never turn down a challenge."

A lot of things had happened that no one noticed. Jou and Mai and Shikuza and Seto where dating. Honda was alert, ready hold on to Jou to prevent him from strangling the life out of Kaiba. Mai had discovered that Jou "could be an excellent gentleman when he concentrates on it." She loved him nonetheless.

Besides finding out about the new couples, everyone, one way or another, found out about Yami and Yugi's argument. They couldn't understand why Yugi was so upset with Yami. She wasn't "officially" his, unless he actually took her from Yami. Everyone had a gut feeling that it was what Yugi wanted to do.

Everyone had gathered at a picnic table. The only ones left to arrive where Yami and Tea.

"They're probably making out."

Jou let out a chuckle and placed his hand on Yugi's shoulder.

"Dude, you gotta calm down. So Yami beat you to her. How do you think Honda feels?"

Honda violently raised his head almost hurting his neck.

"I mean, he didn't get to Shizuka first but you don't see him wanting to kill Kaiba over it. He leaves that job to me."

"Very funny Katsuya."

Yugi wasn't satisfied.

"I'm going for a walk guys. Holler when the pizza's here."

They all sat and talked amongst themselves over the next few minutes.

Mai was resting her head on Jou's shoulder and so was Shizuka with Seto.

`Does anyone know what the dress code is for the dance?"

"Haven't you read the flyer Otogi? It's casual."

"Oh. That's good to know."

Their conversation was interrupted when Tea showed up at the table.

"Hey guys"

"Hey Tea, where's Yami?"

"He said he had to go to the bathroom. Where's Yugi? Is he coming?"

"He went for a walk."

Tea said hi to everyone and sat down leaving a space for Yami.

The leaves crunched under his boots as he walked along the path. It was cold that day and the sun decided to show its beauty. He needed to walk alone. Normally, it was something that Yami would do, but now, with the way he was feeling, he understood why he did it. No one could interrupt his thoughts, or his plan. He meant every word when he said he would fight for Tea. He wasn't going to let her go.

A crunching sound interrupted his thoughts.

"I didn't know you liked to take walks to think."

"You gonna come after me for taking your habits?"

Yugi's tone was low again.

"No..."

"You really expect her to stay with you?"

"Yugi please...don't start again. I talked to Tea, she says she only loves you like a brother..."

"Shut-up!"

"Yugi it's true. Ask..."

"You shut-up! I don't want to hear your lies."

"Please don't act like this!"

"I SAID SHUT-UP!"

Yugi broke. He charged Yami tackling him to the ground. Yami hit his head on the ground making him dizzy. Yugi started his assault by delivering blows to his chest. Yami caught his fists and pushed him back. Two blows hit Yami hard in the stomach. Another one came to his face knocking him to the ground. Yugi was livid. He was showing no mercy towards his once proclaimed brother. He kicked him numerous times in the stomach. Yami was able to catch a bit of sanity and caught Yugi's foot making him fall. He got up and tried to hold Yugi down but his body was weak form previous blows. He was able to manage a punch to his face. His strength faltered and Yugi hit him back. He punched him in the stomach again and Yami was sure he felt something break and tear. The pain was excruciating but he couldn't let up. He was scared he was going to get killed. He somehow able to get up and that was when he saw Yugi pull something shiny out of his pocket.

"Where are those guys they've been gone long while." Tea got up from the table and scanned around."

Jou stood up also.

"You don't think they ran into each other do you?"

"Oh no..."

Yugi charged Yami agaib but this time he was able to hold him. The pain made adrenalin shoot through his body making the pain go away. He grabbed Yugi's hand that was holding the blade and tried to turn it away from him. He tried squeezing his wrist to make him drop it but his strength was failing. A voice shot through the air making him loose his focus.

"YAMI!"

It all happened so fast. He lost his focus and his strength. He could go on no more. Yami felt something tear into his torso. He gasped and put his hand on Yugi's hand that held the blade and the other on Yugi's shoulder.

Yugi was gone. In his place was a monster. This couldn't be Yugi. This wasn't the same person that had held unconditional love for his brother and protected him.

No...that Yugi was gone.

Yami's body jolted as he was stabbed a second time.

His eyes; he looked into Yugi's eyes trying to find his soul, trying to find anything to make him stop.

The third time; blood filled his mouth. The whole time he never took his eyes away. He still pleaded.

`Why?"

Jou pulled Yugi away. He was still fighting to get free but Jou was much stronger than Yugi. Tea ran over to Yami and caught him as he fell.

"SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE HE'S HURT!"

Seto got on his phone to call the ambulance. While Jou, Honda and Otogi dragged Yugi away, Mai and Shizuka went to Tea. She held him in her lap trying desperately to keep him awake. Her hands were filled with his blood but she didn't care.

"Yami...please hold on."

"I...I'm sorry..." Tears flowed down his face. He gripped her hand with all his strength as he coughed out more blood.

"Shh, don't be sorry Yami."

"I..I...I l-love y-you."

The words tore at her heart more than they ever had before. The way he had said it, and the look in his eyes. It was as if he was never going to be able to say those words again.

"I love you too Yami. Please...hold on."

Yami closed his eyes and coughed again. He tried to move but it was only hurting him more. HE let out a strained groan and passed out.

"YAMI!"

They weren't sure what to do with him. They would decide his punishment later. They all agreed that they would say that Yami got mugged in the park and that they found him already hurt. That was reason they couldn't make an I.D. on the suspect. Jou said that a greater punishment than be locked up was for him to see the pain he caused to everyone. He sat in the corner of the waiting room with Honda, Jou and Otogi next to him.

He was in shock. Revelations spun in his head.

He was a monster.

Jealously had taken over him and he had hurt not only his brother, but the person he loved most.

His hopes of being with her were shattered. He looked down at his blood-stained gloves. Underneath them were hands, the hands of a monster. And if Yami died, then they would be the hands of a murderer.

Someone came up in front of him. HE looked up only to receive a slap across his face.

"YOU BASTARD, YOU SON OF A BITCH! WHY DID YOU HURT HIM I HATE YOU!"

Tea managed to get two blows to his head before Jou pulled her away crying. Yugi looked down

at his hands.

"What have I done?"

By the time the doctor came to talk to them Sogoroku had already arrived. None knew whether he ignored his grandson on purpose but they figure that years of wisdom gave him a reason.

He wasn't worth his time.

Delivering diagnosed was a rollercoaster of emotions for some doctors; those who still had hearts. They could make someone happy with news of a birth, benign tumor or successful operation. But likewise, they would ruin it with death, disease, or shortening of life.

How does a doctor tell an old man that his grandson could die?; by telling him the truth.

"Doctor how is my grandson?"

"He is very lucky to be alive. Still. Some of his ribs have been broken and some of the muscle in his stomach has been torn from the force of the blows. As for the three stabs he recieved, two missed vital organs by less than a centimeter but the third punctured his liver. There was internal bleeding which we were able to stop, but because of the massive blood loss he suffered he slipped into a coma. I don't give much chance. I'm sorry."

Everyone fell speechless. They tried to feel hate for the instigator. But how could they, when he was one their best friends?

"I'm sure that the authorities will catch the hateful bastard who did this. No one deserves to die."

Sogoroku just nodded his head in agreement. He was led to Yami's room to see him telling the others he would let them know how he was.

Everyone sat down in the waiting room. The girls where being comforted by their respective boyfriends while Otogi and Honda where comforting Tea.

They all stayed away from him.

The words echoed in his head, His identity had been chosen for him. It was who he was. His soul had been lost. He was no better than someone in the Orichalcos seal. He was a monster. Jealously and rage had invaded his heart. Instead of trying to make it go away he had let it out with no regards as to who it hurt. And he called Yami a selfish bastard.

"Look who's talking."

Yugi was gone. In his place was a monster, a fiend, someone who didn't deserve to live. What he had done could never be explained or justified. It was who he was in all reality.

A hateful bastard.

I guess hate hurts you more than it hurts others huh? I was nearly crying when I wrote this. I'm going to try to update more but I can't make any promises cause school is a killer. I'm going to drop an AP class so that might free up more time for me. Thx for reading!
