Yami looked up at the path in front of them sensing someone. He couldn't see anyone, but that didn't mean there wasn't anyone there. "Who's there?" He asked. Yuugi clung on to him fearfully. Yami squeezed his hikari's hand softly.

A small form appeared before him. "You can sense me now, eh?" Noa smiled slightly.

Yuugi let go of his yami's arm and met Noa's eyes. "What are you doing here?" He asked softly, despite his annoyance at being bothered. It was rare for the two of the Puzzle to get time alone.

Noa sighed. "Because, I want to help Seto, but I can't do anything by myself. You two seemed genuinely worried about him." He shrugged. "And you saved him and Moku-kun from Pegasus."

Yami frowned. "I'm assuming Kaiba doesn't know you're here."

Noa nodded. "If he knew, I'd be in deep shit."

Yuugi looked at Yami. |Give him a try, Yami.| The boy begged. |He means well, and I'm worried about Seto.|

Yami looked between the two pleading faces with a sigh. "Let's all sit." Yuugi sat in Yami's lap and Noa across from them. Noa looked around them, nervous. "It's safe to talk here." Yami said calmly. "No one will disturb us without my knowing."

Noa nodded and forced himself to relax. He knew that he should probably start from his death, and that was a painful experiance, even after all these years. "Uhm, I guess my story starts with my death..." He frowned. "Otosan was brought up with pain, from his father. He was never cruel to me, because he said he could never have me go through that. Despite his every effort, I died from some disease when I was about eight, I think..." Noa paused, trying to remember his age in annoyance.

"Go on." Yami proded gently. Something told him that this tale wasn't going to be a pretty one, and he wanted to send Yuugi away, but he also knew that Yuugi would never stand for that.

"When otosan adopted Seto and Moku-kun, I was jealous. I knew my father had loved me, maybe more than with just a father/son love, but I wouldn't have known. Seto was almost a perfect image of me, except for his hair color. This drove me nuts. I watched as a month passed and otosan grew fond of Seto, fond in a way he'd never been with me. On the first day Moku-kun spent a night at a friend's house, otosan let his feelings been known to Seto." Noa shook his head. "That first time otosan just punched him a few times, kissed him, little things..."

Yuugi jumped in. "Little things?! You call those little things?!"

Noa met the boy's eyes. "They were little compared to what otosan did not even a month later."

"What was that?" Yuugi challenged.

"Burned him with hot wax and cut him with a knife." Noa's voice was cold. "The next day, Seto tried to commit suicide." He looked away from the terror he saw in Yuugi's eyes. Yami hugged Yuugi tightly, doing his best to comfort his nearly innocent hikari. "That's when they met up with my uncle, Goshin, and otosan went to jail for child abuse. He only got out because the morons who arrested him forgot to read him his rights. Goshin, at least, got otosan to promise to stop beating Seto so harshly."

"Why do I have a feeling Gozaburo didn't hold true to his word?" Yami asked softly.

"Because Seto didn't hold true to his promise to never tell another soul what was happening. When his best friend from the orphanage came to town, Seto told the other boy everything. Otosan found out and beat Seto worse than before." Noa's voice was empty.

"Why didn't Goshin step in?" Yuugi cried.

"Because all he had were suspitions, not evidience. I think I forgot to add in one vital detail. Seto loved otosan."

"As in, sleeping-in-the-same-bed-without-clothing-on love?" Yuugi asked, surprised.

"Exactly." Noa sighed. "Seto went to his friend for help, and, in the process, fell in love with his friend."

Yami shivered. "Spare us the details, Noa. What finally led to Seto pushing your father out a window?"

"Coming home to find Moku-kun chained to his bed and otosan standing over him with a whip." Noa bit back pain-filled tears. "The next day at otosan's office, Seto pushed him out the window."

"Oh, Kami... Poor Moku-kun..." Yuugi's eyes were tear-filled. Even the normally emotionless pharaoh had a look of sadness on his face. "Poor Seto, even..."

"And Kaiba still protects Gozaburo, even after the man's death." Yami mumbled.

"You'd be surprised." Noa grinned suddenly. "After Seto pushed otosan out the window, he apologized, forgave otosan, and even berated himself for his actions later that evening."

"This'll probably seem like a strange question, but, Noa, do you forgive your father?" Yami asked.

Noa paused. "I'm still not quite sure I do." He sighed. "It took me almost a year before I finally forgave Seto for what he'd done. As for otosan, I don't think I'll be able to forgive him until my own soul is finally at rest. I was totally ready to disown him when Seto killed him, but it was Seto's own apology and forgiveness that paused me in my actions."

"Well, now we have to do something about those two..." Yami mused. "But what? Noa, you know them better than anyone..." He met the eyes of the ghost.

Noa sighed. "I have a plan, yes, but it'll put any involved in danger of their life."

"Why?" Yuugi asked.

"Because we're dealing with Seto here." Yami figured.

Noa nodded. "Exactly. He doesn't like beating others up or using any violence against another, but he's been known to. He knows enough martial arts to do damage to anyone who bothers him."

"Just cause I'm wondering, where are Goshin and Kaiba's friend now?" Yami asked curiosly.

"Dead, both of them." Noa shook his head.

"Gozaburo's doing?" Yuugi asked, his eyes filled with fear of the thought.

"Not with Seto's friend, no. Goshin, well, let's just say it wasn't pretty..." Noa shivered.

Yami nodded. "What's your plan, Noa?"

Noa leaned forward, Yami and Yuugi copying him, and the three discussed the plan.

~~A/N: Uhm, I have a few ideas for the plan, but theyt're all a little wild... -_-* Any ideas will be welcomed more than any of you souls can fathom... *sighes*

As a minor point of intrest, I've been writing this story with Seto's Pain, as I've said already, so this follows that storyline. The show's storyline has some impact on this piece, as you can all see, but it's really just bit's and pieces. I don't know how Noa died, so I made that up. Any confusement on that, I apologize. Also, I seriously suggest reading Seto's Pain, at least what is up. This is a slightly confusing fic without that, neh?

DISCLAIMER: Nope. Don't own Yu-Gi-Ou! So sorry... I want me to too...
