"Here you are, Kaiba-sama." The officer chuckled, showing the boy his cell.
"Fuck you." Seto replied in a chilly tone as the man pulled open the cell door.
"Watch your mouth, boy." The officer warned.
"Shove it." Seto walked over to his makeshift bed bed and sat down, an annoyed look on his face. The officer slammed the door and stalked off. Seto's bored look turned into a triumphant smirk.
He'd requested a room of his own, and had gotten it. He glanced up at the camera watching him and cursed it mentally, borrowing Egyptian curses from Seth and his past life when he ran out of Japanese ones. Noa giggled while Seth sighed. Seto had to smile. Noa sounded so cute sometimes... /Is he awake yet?\ Seto asked his boyfriend.
//Nai. He's still out.\\ Noa replied. //I'm sure he'll be alright, Seto-chan...\\
Seto pulled out his card locket, which they'd let him keep, much to his relief, althought he hadn't shown he was relieved... Seto sighed to himself and popped it open to look at the picture of his little brother, effectively forgetting the camera watching him with this new distraction. "Mokuba..." He whispered sadly.
"Excuse me..." A female voice drifted over to Seto from the cell next to his.
Seto frowned. The voice sounded famillar, but he couldn't quite place it. "Nani?" Seto looked up and saw a little window between his cell and the woman's. He could look into it if he stood on the bed. So he stood up on the bed and looked over.
The woman had deep brown hair that was fairly long, and looked like it hadn't had a decent wash in a while. She had piercing blue eyes that were similar to Seto's. Although dressed in jail rags, she was still pretty, and obviously young. She looked to be only about ten years older than Seto himself. "You said Mokuba..." She looked up when she heard him at the bars and her eyes widened. "Seto-chan?!"
Seto frowned, still trying to place her voice and face with a name. He knew her, from somewhere... "Do I know you?" He asked, hoping she would forgive his memory problems, if they ever got out of here, which he doubted somewhat.
"It's Kukkî." The woman said.
Seto's eyes widened as he recognized his cousin. "Kami-sama! Kukkî! We thought they let you out years ago!"
Kukkî smiled softly. "Nai. They did move me, though." Seto nodded. "Why are you here, Seto-chan? This is no place for a kid."
Seto made a face, but didn't comment on her calling him a kid. "Ototo-chan is in the hospital, and his doctor has decided that I'm the one who beat him." Seto groaned, clenching his hands. "The ass."
"Mokuba-chan was beat?!" Kukkî looked horrified. Seto nodded. "By who?"
"Our adopted father."
"Then why isn't he in here?!" Kukkî looked pissed.
"He's dead. I take care of ototo-chan myself."
"Seto-chan, you're fifteen!"
"I'm also CEO of Kaiba Corperation."
Kukkî paused before speaking again. "You've changed, and I can't quite say that it's for the best."
Seto flinched involuntarily. "Ouch."
Kukkî grinned. "You'll be fine. My only worry is, who's going to take care of Mokuba-chan until this gets straightened out?"
"Well, the hospital staff, for now. If I'm still here when they release him, I assume Seth will take care of him." He made a face. "Let me rephrase that. Seth will take care of ototo-chan, or I'll have his hide."
Kukkî laughed, a rich sound, that made Seto feel better almost instantly. "Oh, how I've missed you."
Seto frowned. "We'll get you out of here, I swear it. I'll even pay for your school, if you want to go back."
"Seto-chan, you don't have to..."
Seto shook his head. "Kukkî, money is no problem, and you're family. Onegai."
Kukkî sighed. She could see how much this meant to her younger cousin, even though she couldn't quite place why it did. "Alright, Seto-chan."
"Kaiba Seto." A guard called from the door. "We just got a call from a man named Seth. He claims that you have evidence against Dr. Parke's claim."
Seto's eyes widened in terror. Seth and Noa had told him they would do this. Kukkî frowned at the boy's reaction. "Seto-chan?" She whispered.
~Seth! You ass!~ Seto shouted through their link.
~I told them you might be a problem.~ Seth informed his hikari coldly.
"I have nothing." Seto whispered once he found his voice again.
"Seto-chan, onegai." Noa begged from the other side of the cell door. Seto froze, not daring to look. "Moku-chan sent me down here. He woke up. He promises to behave, if you'll behave."
Seto chanced a glance out at his boyfriend. "He's awake?"
Noa pursed his lips. Something in Seto's eyes told him that the taller boy was terrified beyond reason. "Let me in." He ordered the guard next to him. The guard sighed, but did so. Dr. Parke had told him that the boy might be able to control the irrational CEO. Noa stepped into the cell, his eyes softening as he looked at Seto. "Come here." He said softly.
Seto jumped down from the bed and ran to hug Noa tightly. /How could you?\ He cried mentally, burying his face in Noa's hair.
//I love you. That's how.\\ Noa pulled away. //Come on.\\ Seto shook his head. //You want me to have them drag you?\\ His mental voice had gathered the slightest bit of an angry sneer.
/Noa-chan...\ Seto was shaking slightly.
Noa forced himself to calm down. Losing his temper would only make this whole ordeal worse. //I'll be right there, I promise. I won't leave or anything.\\ He promised.
"Seto-chan? Are you okay?" Kukkî asked, the silence unbarrable.
Seto took a deep breath. "Hai."
"That's your cousin?" Noa asked aloud. Seto nodded. Noa walked out to the front of the cells, to look at the woman. "You are Kukkî?"
Kukkî blinked at the boy. "Hai... Who are you?"
"Noa." The boy shrugged, then looked back at Seto. "You want your cousin to come with?"
"Absolutely not." The guard growled. This was getting annoying, not to mention it was getting too long.
Seto stepped from his cell and crossed his arms, giving the man a superior look. Noa groaned. He'd seen that look far too many times to ignore it. "Seto-chan, don't start anything..." He begged.
"Yama Kukkî is coming." Seto said.
"You're in no position to be giving orders here, Kaiba-sama." The guard growled angrily.
Noa caught sight of Seto's fist. "Seto!" His voice was sharp. "You'll only get in more trouble!"
Seto sneered at the man, then turned and rammed his fist into the brick wall between the two cells with as much force as he could muster. Cracks appeared and some brick bits flew out. "Kami-sama..." Kukkî whispered. She'd never seen this side of her cousin before, but, as she'd said earlier, he'd changed.
Noa sighed and took Seto's hand gently. It was the one he'd punched his mirror with the other day, and many of the old scabs had come off. "Seto-chan..." Noa shook his head. "You need to learn a better way to take out your anger than punching random things." He grinned at Kukkî, not letting go of Seto's hand. "He broke his bathroom mirror the other day."
"Tattletail..." Seto grumbled as the other two chuckled. Seto turned to the guard. "You're lucky that wasn't your head." He hissed angrily. "Let Kukkî come."
"Hai, Kaiba-sama." The man was shaking with fear as he unlocked Kukkî's cell. Everyone knew how short Kaiba Seto's temper really was, but he'd never had the chance to test it before this, and he didn't plan on testing it again.
Kukkî stepped out and looked her taller cousin over. His black shirt and black pants showed no stain, although his blue trench coat not had some red on it where some of his blood had gotten on it. His hair was a little messed up and his hand was bloody, but, other than that, he looked perfect, to her. She hurried over and hugged Seto happily, not caring if he got blood on her clothing. "You've really grown." She commented as they started off after the guard.
Seto nodded quietly. Noa bit his lip as he looked up at the CEO's face. It was horribly pale. "Seto-chan, it'll be okay." He whispered. Seto shook his head slightly.
"What's this evidence?" Kukkî asked the two.
"Seto-chan was beat too, but more severely than Moku-chan." Noa explained. "He tends to flip out if he has to remember anything about it. Anyway, he sees it as a weakness, and he doesn't like weaknesses." He glanced up at the cold, pale face. Seto wasn't paying them any attention.
Kukkî bit her lip and hugged her younger cousin lightly. ~No wonder he's changed so...~ She thought.
"Here." The guard pointed to a slightly open door.
Noa opened the door and led the cousins in. Dr. Parke made a face when he saw Kukkî. "Who's the woman?" He growled.
"Yama Kukkî, my cousin." Seto's voice was chilled, a last defense against the inevitable.
"Out." Dr. Parke ordered.
"I wouldn't get him mad, if I were you." The guard suggested from the room's door. "He's already cracked one of the walls over this issue."
Dr. Parke walked up to Seto, seeing the bloodied hand. "Let me see." He ordered. Seto narrowed his eyes, but showed the doctor his fist. "These scabs..." Dr. Parke frowned.
"He punched a mirror a couple days ago." Noa explained. "I think it's a hobby." The two boys shared annoyed looks.
Dr. Parke sighed and pulled out some bandaging he had on him to fix Seto's hand. He nodded to the guard and the door to the room shut. "What's this evidence?" The doctor asked once he was done.
Seto shivered. /I can't do this...\ He said sadly.
Noa groaned. "Kukkî, move." Kukkî did so, seeing that this boy knew how to deal with her cousin. She sat down in one of the chairs along the wall to watch. Noa gave Seto a stern look, folding his arms over his chest. Seto caught sight of the scarab mark for only a second when his shirt moved. "Seto-tenchi's a wimp." He said with a straight face. Seto narrowed his eyes. "Scaredy cat."
"Am not!" Seto complained. Kukkî watched with an amused expression. That was the Seto she knew! Dr. Parke watched with a questioning look.
"Prove it." Noa's voice was empty. Seto froze, then shook his head.
~Baka!~ Seth shouted. ~Do you want me to come out there?!~
Seto groaned. "Kami-sama..." He moaned. Noa gave him an annoyed look. He'd heard the yami's words. Seto swallowed with difficulty, then sighed and pulled off his coat, tossing it into one of the chairs. Then he pulled his shirt over his head, keeping his head down and his eyes on his locket once it was off.
"Seto-chan!" Kukkî cried, horrified. ~Kami-sama! He had to go through that?!~ She thought, her eyes watering up.
Dr. Parke's eyes widened and he walked over to get a better look. This wasn't what he'd expected. "Some of these are older than the ones your brother has." He gave the boy a stern look, even though Seto wasn't looking at him. "Where'd you get them?"
"Gozaburo." Seto whispered. "Same place as ototo-chan."
"And yesterday?"
"I was at school. I couldn't have done anything. Anyway, I'd never beat ototo-chan. He's been with me since his birth, and...and he means everything to me." Seto's voice caught in the middle of the last sentence.
"Do you know who did beat Mokuba yesterday?" Dr. Parke watched the boy carefully. Something about the way Seto had just spoken had touched him. He didn't ignore the fact that few got to see the cold CEO like this, but he didn't revel in it, either.
"Hai." Seto wouldn't look up, since he knew there were tears in his eyes.
"Who?"
"Ban. He's a patient of your hospital, as of this afternoon."
Noa groaned. "Seto-chan..."
"What?" Seto looked up coldly, his eyes suddenly dry. "I deal punishment in my own way. He's an assassin for hire. I didn't kill him, just did some damage and gave him something to think about."
Dr. Parke frowned. "How would you know?"
"You've heard of Frolde Goshin, right?" Dr. Parke nodded. "He was Gozaburo's brother. He taught me martail arts and medicine for a year." Seto shrugged. "Just because I'm still a teenager doesn't mean I'm stupid."
"Obviously." Dr. Parke sighed. "You're free to go, Kaiba-sama."
"Good." Seto put his shirt back on, pulling his locket out to rest on his shirt, then grabbed his coat and let it hang over his arm. Next, Seto walked over to Noa and gave him a soft wack on the back of his head. Noa sighed, but didn't complain. The other two in the room grinned. Seto turned to Kukkî. "How about we get you out of here."
"What are you in here for?" Dr. Parke asked softly.
"Kukkî took care of ototo-chan and me before we went to the orphanage. Child Services came one day and decided she was doing a poor job." Seto explained.
"How long?" Dr. Parke asked, directing his question towards Kukkî.
"A little over five years." Kukkî mumbled.
Dr. Parke turned to Seto. "What do you think you can do? Money cannot buy you everything, Kaiba-sama."
Seto sighed. "I know that." He shook his head, hugging his cousin close. "But I have to try." Kukkî smiled up at him.
Dr. Parke nodded. "Shall I wait for you outside? I'll take you back to the hospital."
Seto sighed again. "Hai." Dr. Parke nodded and left. Seto let go of his cousin and gave her a grave look. "Before you most definately agree to live with us, you should know that I'm gay and Noa's my boyfriend. Noa's also Gozaburo's son. He died, but he's pretty much alive again because of some Ancient Egyptian magic. There are a few other things, but I can explain them later."
Kukkî frowned. "Seto-chan, I figured you were strange when you were little, and gay was one of the things I was prepared for. Magic, you know, is something I don't tend to believe in, but I'll take your word for it. If you're happy, I'm happy."
"Arigatou." Seto let out a sigh of relief.
"Oi, Seto-chan." Seto looked down at Noa. The boy was holding the Rod out to him. "Seth wanted me to give this to you once I was sure you could have it back." Seto took the Rod with a nod. "You uncover it, I'm killing you." Noa warned darkly. He remember what had happened at Yugha's house earlier. None of them had expected Seto to react like that, and he didn't need a repeat.
Seto nodded and put the Rod in one of the hidden pockets of his coat. "Let's go." The other two nodded and left, to see what they could do.
~~^**^~~
The group looked up when the door opened. Seto, Noa, Kukkî, and Dr. Parke stood there. Seto hurried past everyone, to the bed, and sat on it, giving his brother a hug. "Oniisan! You're okay!" Mokuba said happily.
"Hai."Seto smiled, then turned and motioned to Kukkî. The woman's clothing and hair were in the same state as they'd been in the jail, but her eyes were bright and her skin had a healthy glow to it, from being out in the fresh air. "Ototo-chan, you'll never believe who I ran in to."
Mokuba frowned. The woman reminded him of someone, but he couldn't quite place who. He made a face at his brother. "Who?" He really didn't like guessing games. Seto always managed to win.
"You remember Kukkî?" Seto asked lightly.
Mokuba's eyes widened as he recognized his cousin. "Kukkî-neesan!" He made to get out of bed, but Kukkî got to him first. They hugged, Kukkî being careful with the boy.
"Kukkî's the cousin that took care of us." Seto explained to the two yami/hikari pairs that were giving him questioning looks.
"I see..." Yami frowned at the woman.
Seto sighed. "Kukkî, these are some of my friends. Mutou Yuugi, Yami, Bakura Ryou, and Yami Bakura." Kukkî made a face. "Or Yuugi, Yami, Ryou, and Bakura."
"Who's your twin?" Kukkî asked, pointing to Seth.
"Oh, that's just Seth." Seto shrugged, as if the man were no one important.
Seth growled and tackled Seto. "Just Seth, huh?" He held Seto's arms to his sides as the boy tried to pull away.
"Seth! Let go!" Seto complained. He knew Seth was just playing around, but he was getting nervous.
Seth leaned in, placing his mouth next to his hikari's ear. "So, I'm an ass, huh?"
"Gomen!" Seto cried, still struggling to get away.
"Sure you are." Seth nipped Seto's earlobe gently, then let him go.
Seto looked at his yami and shivered. The look in Seth's eyes... It was the same as the one Gozaburo... No he wasn't going to think about that. That would led to memories, and memories led to breakdowns. So, instead, he settled on glaring at his darker half.
Noa, Mokuba, Yuugi, and Ryou giggled at the look on Seto's face. Bakura rolled his eyes while Yami hid a smile and Kukkî grinned outright at the unplanned show. Seth smirked at his hikari, looking a lot like Seto, when he won a duel, or proved a point. Seto made a face a sat in a chair to pout, which then caused everyone in the room, minus Bakura, to errupt into laughter.

To firedryad(MM.O): I'm glad you like it, and I'm starting to get annoyed with the length myself... *glares at ficcy* But it's still shorter than SP, so I guess we'll live! As for how much longer it's going to be, I have no clue. It's up to my mysery muse and the characters. Hopefully it'll end soon... I need to start paying attention to my school work... -_-*
To halowing4(MM.O): I guess that was a plot twist.... Deja vu from SP, neh? Okay, maybe their positions are a little different, but, still... Hope you enjoyed this chappie!!

Sadly, there are actual reasons I'm just a lowly fanfic writer... *sob*
