Serena Kaiba 'LaMoon' stared up at the gigantic mansion that belonged to her older brother. Serena was only 10 when her world changed. One minute she lived happily with her father, her mother and her two brothers, then next the three Kaiba children where carted off to some orphanage. Seto protected herself and Moki when the bullies at the orphanage would pick on them. Then one day Gozaburo Kaiba came to the orphanage and Seto challenged him to a chess game. If Seto won, Gozaburo would have to adopt Seto, Mokuba and herself, no questions asked. If Gozaburo won then he could leave freely. After a long chess game, Seto finally came out the victor.

On that day, Seto stopped calling their youngest brother Moki, stop smiling, stopped being human.
