Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Late Nights ❯ Unusual Conversation ( Chapter 4 )
Chapter 4: Unusual Conversation
]]Do not be a fool, Tira. I know that you are intelligent enough to find out what happened to you. Do you not remember the flare of those wards?[[ Crimson said, her voice cold and strangely… in control…
{What do you mean?}
]]The whole fucking thing started when those accursed wards flared, am I not correct? They were tainted Tira, by one of your own people as well[[ Crimson said coldly and bluntly.
{… Who?}
]]That basterd: Kelroick, Dashinet. HE fucked up the wards, making you think that nothing had happened to you, but things were happening AROUND you. I can't believe that such a skilled warrior such as yourself could fall for such a pathetically planned parlor trick[[
Tira was silent. {Well, we can't ALL be perfect cold-blooded killers with no emotions like you, can we?} she asked coldly.
]]I am only like that because that was all I WAS when we `separated' a few hundred years ago. Your façade of being emotionless only hides your true side, which is rather gentle and kind-[[
{SHUT THE HELL UP! I HAVE CHANGED! I AM NO LONGER THAT INNOCENT CHILD WHO THOUGHT NOTHING COULD EVER GO WRONG!! SO STOP CALLING ME THAT!!!}
]]Don't you dare speak to me that way. You owe me a hell of a lot more than you'd like to admit, so don't you DARE raise your voice at me.[[ Crimson's voice was sharp and cold, cutting through Tira's ranting easily.
Tira flinched away from Crimson and the other two of her personalities took cautious steps away from both of them.
{I'm sorry… I didn't mean to snap at you…}
Crimson gazed at Tira with cold eyes that said to anyone who looked into them `do you think I care?' THAT was the red-eyed demon's `personality' if she even POSSESSED one.
]]I couldn't really give a shit if vampires sucked the blood out of all the human's in the world, so DON'T get the idea I care[[
Tira was silent, staring at her feet. She opened her mouth to ask a question, but it faded from her lips before she could voice it…
)Crimson, take it easy on her, she actually HAS emotions that affect her, unlike you.(
Crimson was silent, but her expression remained cold and stoic.
}You really should be nicer, Crimson. Stop being so mean! Tira HAS changed! Most for the better! So give her a break!!^ Blue yelled childishly at Crimson.{
The red-eyed demon only gave her a withering look of contempt and dissipated into thin air, leaving a red hue of energy where she had just stood.
Blue turned to Tira and gave her a comforting hug.
}We'll always be here for you, even Crimson. So find a way out of this stupid spell, and let's get the party started!!{ Blue smiled, very chipper.
Tira smiled gently and uncertainly at Blue. {If you think I can do it…}
}Of course!!{
Tira smiled a little bigger, and hugged Blue with the force of a scared child. {Thank you…} she muttered into Blue's sweet-smelling hair.
}You're welcome{ Blue said, sober.
{Well, I'd better get to work} With that said, Tira left the darker recesses of her mind in search of her magical source.
Everyone had a source where all of his or her magic comes from, Tira's was inside her soul.
When she came upon her magic, the usually restless and rolling ball of bright emerald power was being contaminated with a disgusting rusty coloured magic, the colour of dried blood. Tira's nose scrunched up in disgust. {So that bastard Dashinet Kelroick WAS behind this. That newly transferred teacher's been a major pain in my ass since he fucked around with the schedules. Bastard.}
She put her hands outward from her body, her palms resting on a nonexistent globe around her. Mentally, she put up a barrier of power, pure white, created from her soul's energy. Slowly and carefully, she flew into the contaminated mass of power that was her own. Leisurely and cautiously she pulled the disgusting rust coloured strings of power from her rolling mass and purified them. She panicked a bit when only `one' string cost her so much energy. A dark frown creased her brow, and she pulled several more strings toward her constantly, purifying them once they got in range of her `bubble' of searing white power. Soon, all of the rust coloured ribbons had been destroyed, and Tira was tired… very tired…
Tira slipped into a black oblivion and thought one last thing… `Where are you, Yami?'
[I'm right here…]
Yami, back in the real world, stared strangely at Tira… who was still standing on her own? Tira was unconscious, yet her body…
The sun's light suddenly dimmed, and the world turned to dark shades of lifeless gray around them…
That, was when Yami sensed vampires… almost a hundred of them. They were surrounding him and Tira slowly and silently, not alerting him to their positions. He glared coldly at his surroundings. `Those bastards, they snuck through my senses and turned the world into a cold and dead world of gray… A very powerful vampire must be with them, to take us to THIS dimension…'
Disgusting and inhumanly harsh screams broke out all around him, and Yami tried to NOT move his hands to his ears.
"Yami!" a scratchy voice called out through the darkness.
The once Pharaoh of Egypt recognized the voice and glared coldly at the vampire that had come forward.
"You have disgraced us, accepting the blood willingly given to you. You are a vampire! There is nothing you can do about it! Accept it and become more powerful!!"
"No," Yami said coldly and coolly.
The shadowed vampire glared coldly at Yami, "Very well then, my son. KILL THEM BOTH!!" he ordered his vampires!
Yami was pissed. Not only had his `FATHER' (who he didn't really consider a father, because he was such a bastard) told him what to do, HE ORDERED HIM TO TAKE BLOOD ALONG WITH THE LIFE! He growled lowly in his throat, and was about to attempt to kill them all when his two vampire friends showed up with their `girls' (which happened to be Shanna and Lizzy)
"Tira!! TIRA!!!" Shanna yelled toward him, trying to get a reaction from the prone form.
Tira, her head bowed and eyes shadowed by wild bangs, didn't respond in any way.
Yami's `father' was laughing coldly, yelling at intervals `kill the traitor!' and the likes.
A cold voice cut through the noise, silencing all that heard in an instant.
"Is that all you can think of, revenge?"
"Who the hell are you?!!" Yami's `father' yelled, his voice harsh and `commanding.'
`Tira' raised her hands and pulled back her hair, leaving her bangs in place. She tied her hair with a red brooch at the base of her neck, then lowered her hands again.
Yami's father yelled again, "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!!"
"… I am the one you will regret seeing even after death."
"STRONG WORDS COMING FROM SUCH A WEAK LITTLE GIRL!! KILL HER!!!"
All in an instant, the vampires jumped at her. Time seemed frozen as Lizzy and Shanna's eyes widened in horror at the sight of her friend's inevitable death…
`Tira' glowed crimson, demonic power flying about her wildly and powerfully.
Yami's father's eyes widened in shock, and the last thing he said before him, and all the other vampires, were literally torn to shreds by the attack was: "A demon?"
A red flash of light encompassed the whole area, and Yami and the other four were forced to close their eyes and guard their faces with their arms.
Yami was the first to open his eyes after everything had quieted. The sight he beheld shocked him beyond belief. There, Tira stood, in all her glory, her eyes glowing crimson, a demon's magic flowing about her in controlled waves…
"What ARE you…" he said softly.
`Tira' turned her crimson eyes to Yami and replied emotionlessly, her voice deep and dark, "Crimson."
Lizzy and Shanna, who had then opened their eyes, started walking backwards away from Crimson. Horror was written all over their faces as they bumped into Bakura and Marik. The two vampires were confused, and both wondered, `What the HELL is going on?!'
Yami repeated it to himself… "Crimson… and WHO are you, Crimson?"
Crimson smirked coldly and said evenly, "I am Tira's fourth personality, the last personality. I believe you already noticed the other two, Blue and Violet? But of course you would, you are no fool."
Yami could only stare at the girl who used to be Tira.
"Crimson! What the hell have you done with Tira!!" Shanna yelled angrily.
Crimson coolly turned her eyes to the girl, who was glowing darkly with Black Magic. "I have done nothing. Blame Dashinet Kelroick for anything that has happened. He's the bastard that tainted Tira's magic in the first place, with the use of banishing wards."
Shanna's eyes darkened and she coldly thought to herself, `That ass hole? I can't believe I actually DATED him once…' She scowled in disgust.
Marik eyed Shanna. "Babe?" he asked, causing her to turn around. "What's wrong?" he asked, tilting his head to the side.
"I would like to know that as well…" Bakura said in that harsh voice of his. "Liz?"
Lizzy and Shanna looked at eachother and sighed simultaneously. "It's a long story," they said at the same time.
Crimson stood in the middle of the carnage, eyeing the blood and body parts… that were left that is. Most of it all was just a bunch of guts and blood… She looked at her hands and wanted to sigh, as if a very heavy burden placed upon her shoulders was wearing her down. She didn't, however, because she knew it was out of character.
[Crimson?] Yami tried to call her through their mind link.
]]What?[[ she asked sourly.
[Where is Tira?]
]]She's sleeping[[
[Would you wake her up?] It was more of a question if she WOULD do it, NOT that he was asking her TO wake Tira up.
]]No[[
Yami dropped the conversation with a small smile on his face. `This Crimson isn't as cold-hearted as one might think… I have a feeling she loves Tira more than the OTHER two personalities… and just wants to protect her.' He grinned behind Crimson's back and ignored the carnage such a being had caused as he walked toward Bakura and Marik. He smirked at them, and they smirked back.
[So tell me, Pharaoh, when did you bag such a catch?] Bakura asked him slyly.
[Last night]
[Oh? Did you… *cough* do anything… else??] Marik asked with a mental smirk.
[I drank her blood]
Bakura and Marik's eyes mentally widened and they blinked at him in shock.
[WHAT?!!] Marik shouted, mentally staring at Yami in shock.
Yami smirked [She's all mine now… her blood completely fills my veins, leaving no room for the older and less… potent… blood…] He laughed at them evilly as he broke the connection.
Lizzy and Shanna were staring at them, wondering why they just stood there, saying nothing…
"I suggest we leave this dimension and head home," Yami said to the others.
Lizzy and Shanna looked at eachother, thinking, `How?'
Yami turned around and was slightly startled, as were the others, that Crimson had snuck up behind him… silently…
"If we're going to go, then cut a hole in the dimension and take us out… Pharaoh…"
Yami was shocked, though he didn't show it, that Crimson knew what he had been a millennia ago… "Very well." He summoned his power and created a blade of black-red fire in his hand. He gave a quick swipe in a random direction, and a cut appeared in the `background'.
They all walked toward the cut and stepped out into the shadows of an alley…
When the shadows encompassed them, all was silent.
Shanna and Lizzy turned uncertain eyes to Crimson, not knowing what to do.
Crimson would have sighed in annoyance, but held it back. "Lindsay and Shanna, go home. As for you vampires, I would like to speak with you."
Lizzy and Shanna looked at Marik and Bakura with surprise written all over their faces. "You're vamps?" Lizzy asked.
Crimson replied harshly for the vampires, "Yes, they are. I am disappointed you didn't realize it before. Now go."
The two teens walked away and headed home to ponder.
The vampires turned their eyes to Crimson, and finally noticed her eyes… Blood red…
"Come," Crimson said simply, and disappeared into the shadows by simply walking into them.
Yami followed immediately while his two friends looked slightly uncertain, but followed none the less.
In the shadows, Crimson stood, glowing a dark and eerie red. She eyed the vampires that stood before her coldly and calmly, thinking of a way to explain to them the predicament she had been hiding from Tira…
"As of late," Crimson began darkly, "I have been sensing well-hidden power signals coming from Egypt. Tira has not sensed them, for her range does not allow her to reach out that far. The Vampire Slayers in that region have not been fulfilling their duty, either, and have become lax and lazy. They believe that Egypt is the country with the least amount of undead activity, while the truth is opposite. Egypt is one of the most dangerous countries at the moment, while Canada, Japan, and Mexico are the safest. Ireland has much activity, as do most of the European countries. The Council of Undead Slayers has become increasingly worried when none of them are able to contact the slayers of Egypt and Ireland. They fear that if they send an army of slayers to find the problem, they will all die, and they are afraid to send a competent slayer for they don't wish to lose a competent warrior. I have offered many times, pretending to be Tira, to go to either of the countries, but the council continuously refuses me. I fear that one of the `elders' in the council is a traitor, yet I have no proof." Crimson eyed the shocked looks on the vampires' faces coolly. "You wish to know why I share this confidential information with you? It is simple, you are three of chosen Millennium Item carriers that are not tainted, like Pegasus. I wish to ask for your aid to spy on the Council of Undead Slayers, and locate the traitor. Tell me who you think it is, and I will deal with them. Do not try to kill any of the Council, for that will be against you in the future…"
Yami looked Crimson in the eyes and nodded his head calmly. He turned to eye his two friends and their shocked expressions.
Crimson looked at them for a moment before asking, "Please show me the millennium items you possess."
Bakura pulled the Millennium Ring out from subspace and it appeared on his neck. Marik did a well, and the Millennium Scale glowed in his hand. (AN: MY fic, MY rules ^^)
The eye of Ra appeared on Yami's forehead and the Millennium Puzzle appeared, hanging from his neck.
Inwardly, Crimson was shocked that Yami had the all-powerful Puzzle, but pushed her confusion to the side as she reasoned with her self. "Pegasus possesses the Millennium Eye, which has become very powerful with the amount of souls he has stolen in the past year. I fear that he will soon be able to surpass the Leader of the Council's power, which is no doubt his plan."
Yami's eyes narrowed when he realized that Pegasus had been betraying the code of the Millennium Items' Holders for the past year. He would pay for his insolence, and suffer a horrible death for his untruthful activities. A low growl escaped his lips, and his eyes turned a deep blood red. "Pegasus shall pay for his dishonesty to the Millennium Wielders," he said coldly, his fangs flashing in the light-less darkness.
Crimson was startled when Yami's eyes turned such a deep shade of crimson with his rage, but did not reveal her surprise to the vampires.
Both Marik and Bakura's eyes darkened as they became filled with rage at Pegasus's actions. He would pay dearly for endangering the balance of power…
