Title: Lead Me On

Series: YuGiOu

Author: Yuugi's Sex Kitten

Type: songfic

Genre: angst

Warnings: self-mutilation, mentioned rape, violence

Plot Bunny: How everything came to be in "Dark Angel". Yuugi's P.O.V. And a lead to a new series hopefully starting as soon as I finish the first one.

Yami Malik's Disclaimer: Kitten-sama does not own anything here. YuGiOu belongs to rich bastards and the song "Lead Me On" is by Teena Marie (Kitten-sama borrowed her sister's Top Gun soundtrack so Kitten-sama has some sort of inspiration).

Kitten's Forward Notes: I'm getting sick of Yami. I really am. Now I'm starting to know how Yuugi feels in those angst ficcies 'bout him. Always "Yami this, Yami that". Jeez, can't you guys pay attention to my poor Yuugi-chan? *huggles him* Fans of "Dark Angel" will probably like this. *sweat-drops* I gave my sister the T.G. soundtrack as an apology for taping over her tape of it with Digimon 02. *sweat-drop grows* The DVD version I got her for Christmas hopefully makes up for it...... *runs very far away from her elder sister*

//Turn around to see you in a crowded place

Watch with the emotions on a guarded face, saying "lead me on"//

It was one of those days when you hated your existence and everyone around you hated you for who you were. I walked down the halls of Domino High, taking in every last detail I could. It was senior year for me and would be the last time I graced this school with my presence. I don't even know why I bothered coming to public school, I just wish grandfather had me home-schooled. Ever since everyone left me, I've been feeling a darkness welling in my soul, trying to get out, a cold hand gripping at my heart and filling it with ice. I felt nothing for those around me, felt nothing when I saw those worthless fools who had abandoned me or when I saw my grandfather, my only living relative.

Only Yami talked to me.

Yami, the sadistic spirit of an ancient pharaoh that lives inside the puzzle I wield and has slowly been trying to make me as insane as he is. Maybe it's working, maybe it isn't. I don't know. How do you define the sane from the insane? Someone who is different in mind from you? Someone who thinks differently and has different objectives?

//Victim of a dream and a memory

But when I try to break free, you say to me "c'mon lead me on"//

"Yuugi?" I stop and turn at the voice, looking on with amethyst orbs I know have become hardened over time. It's her, the bitch who stood me up. Even now my mind thinks she's beautiful whereas my heart feels nothing but hatred for her and the ones who followed her lead. Anzu seems to be startled by the way I look at her.

"What do you want, bitch?" I snarl, crossing my arms over my chest. "I thought you made it pretty clear before that you didn't want me around you, any of you. You dropped my heart the minute I gave it to you. I don't want nor need your pity, whore."

She looked hurt by what I said. Funny, it reminds me just of how I looked when she, Jounouchi and Hiroto had laughed at me after she stood me up on what was supposed to be the best night of my life. As the saying goes; an eye for an eye. "Yuugi-kun, I......it was a joke. Katsuya-kun read about an American holiday called April Fool's where you play tricks on your friends......we'd forgotten how sensitive you were."

//A matter out of time in the reaches of space

Caught up in the patterns, in the light of a life

Walk across the bridge to the shadows of the night//

I felt something deep inside my veins boil in anger and hatred and I had the strongest urge to smack the bitch silly.

A voice in my head whispered "Do it".

And I did.

The sound echoed through the halls and the chatter stopped as everyone turned to stare. I could feel eyes on me -- they were all shocked at the way I'd just backhanded her like she was nothing to me. She was nothing, just an insect easily crushed beneath my hands. They were all insects, each one more pathetic than the last. "You're a little too late for apology, Mazaki. Three years late if I'm correct. You just want me wrapped around your little finger once more, just want me following you around like a devoted puppy. I have news for you; Yuugi Mutou is dead and in his ashes I have risen, everything and anything he wasn't. If you had been around long enough, you could have salvaged what little hope he had left, but you weren't and he just kept hoping you and those bastards would notice him. No, you're the pathetic one."

I dropped down, placing my hands on either side of her head as she laid, clutching her slapped cheek. My eyes raked over her body -- she began to seem afraid. Hn, afraid of me? How convenient. "Worthless whore," I purred, liking the way my voice sounded. I should have taken on this persona a long time ago. I licked my lips, trailing a finger down to between her breasts. She seemed too shocked at my actions to move. "You should watch out, Mazaki, for I'll let you wonder how and when I'll get my revenge. Just remember that Yuugi is dead and you killed him." I stood and walked away just as a teacher came out and demanded what was happening. Nobody dared make a move.

A feeling of power washed over me, a small part of me liking the way they parted the hallway, trying to get out of my way. So this was how Yami had felt back during ancient Egypt when the peasants parted way for him in the streets, when he had held someone beneath him and nobody seemed able to do a thing about it.

I liked it.

Yuugi sighed as he looked at his watch, realizing it was nearly ten thirty. The seat across from him was empty, vacant of its owner. Anzu had asked him out two days ago and he had gladly accepted, thinking this would be the most perfect night of his life. How wrong he was. Of course Anzu had her pick of any guy in school why would she want to go out with a loser like himself? He paid for the drink he had, picked up the red rose that had been for his so-called date and left.

When he got to the Game Shop, the three people he considered his closest friends were standing there, laughing at him. He felt cold ice grip at his heart, feeling it shatter that they would play him like that. The child-like teen looked at the rose in his hand, noticing he had clutched it all the way home, the thorns sticking into his palm and drawing blood. A morbid fascination washed over him as he took the bloodied rose to his other hand and silently walked over, not noticing that their laughing had stopped at the strange look in his eyes. He gripped Anzu's wrist with his bloodied hand and placed the rose in hers with his other one. Blood began to trickle down her arm and she stared at him speechless, as were the two boys he took no notice of.

"I believe this is yours," Yuugi whispered, amethyst eyes narrowed slightly, no longer shining the way they normally did. "A bloodied rose from a fallen angel to one he thought was so pure. But as they say; every rose has its thorn." The young teen walked away from them, never hearing their shocked cries as he opened the door to his home and walked in, beginning to pick at the skin the thorns had dug up.

"Hello, Yuugi." His grandfather smiled at him from where the elderly man sat on the couch, watching the television. "How was your date?" He never answered him and only walked up the stairs to his room.

//Saying lead me on (lead me on)

Lead me on (on, on)

Lead me on (lead me on)

Lead me on (on, on and on)//

The minute he was alone in the darkness of his room, the ancient spirit from the puzzle appeared beside him, taking his hand and leading him over to the bed. Yami began licking the blood away, enjoying the erotic taste he found only his "light" had. Yuugi only stared at him blankly, never protesting as he was suddenly ripped of his clothes and laid him down onto the bed, kissing him wildly.

Tonight the young teen felt the need to feel pain, felt the need to heal his broken heart with the darkness only his yami could give him. It would make him stronger, able to face the next day and a million days after that. The darkness was a drug, a drug he wanted to feel within his own body. He was no longer pure, the morbidity of his mind told him that already. His tongue left his yami's mouth and trailed over his cheek to his ear, small hands fumbling at the leather clothing as he licked the lobe.

"Take me, please," he whispered rather seductively into the ancient Pharaoh's ear, feeling the elder shiver over him. "Make me like you, Yami. Show me the pleasures of the flesh, the pleasure of pain. I want your ice to fill my veins, Yami, I want to become you."

Yami licked at his neck, allowing him to remove his clothes while a dark smile curled. Perfect. Those worthless fools had sent his hikari onto the brink of insanity. All he had to do was push Yuugi in. He could feel the ice already gripping his hikari's soul, turning his world upside down.

Yuugi screamed, a black and white light coming from his chest.

//Voices in the night chase the demons away

Looking in the mirror it's easy to say "c'mon lead me on"//

Sugoroku had come running upstairs when he heard his grandson's scream, throwing the door open and eyes widening at the sight in the room.

Yuugi sat on his bed, a hand gripping the left side of his chest, breathing labored. He was naked and the spirit on the other end of the bed not too far from it himself. The spirit was staring in shock and he could almost hear a whimper coming from the ancient Pharaoh. Yuugi removed his hand, allowing him to see what had caused the pain. A Yin Yang symbol was embedded on his chest but there was something horribly wrong about it. When the old man looked closer, he could see why.

It was flipped around. The Yang had become the Yin as the Yin had the Yang [1].

What was once light and dark was now dark and light.

Yuugi was the pain of darkness taken physical form.

It was perfect, absolutely perfect. I was wrong about wanting that date with the whore to be the best night of my life, this was the best night of my life. I stood looking down at the items that lay on my persona, liking the way they glittered in our one light. The Eye had taken a bit of getting used to but finally the powers of the item came to me. The God cards laid out before me, ready to be summoned. I had to admit, I felt a little bit of guilt for killing Kaiba just to get the Obelisk but it was remedied just for the power I now felt.

Yami knelt behind me, where he had always belonged. He was no longer the wondrous creature I had looked up to but rather a pathetic whimpering slave.

//Talk to me of lightning -- I'll hear what you say, my love

Searching for the meaning all of the way

I can keep believing in you and me, my love (you and me my love)

Finding the answers that we need -- sometimes it's meant to be//

Looking down upon the unsuspecting city of Domino now, I can only see how right I was in calling them insects. They are insects running around in the catacombs beneath the ground, they are nothing but rats in a maze trying to find the cheese that was the meaning to their miserable existence. I would show them the meaning, show them what it means to be servant of a Pharaoh such as myself.

I raised my hands, murmuring a ritual long forgotten by the world. I could feel the dark magic coursing through my veins, almost laughing when the pathetic fools below looked up to the sky as sudden clouds came, lightning crackling above them in the Heavens. Warp zones began opening up, shadow monsters appearing and attacking a once peaceful city under my own whims. My most loyal ones -- the Dark Magician and the Celtic Guardian -- appeared at my side, waiting for a signal. Once every monster had been released and the pathetic mortals down below were screaming in terror, I began looking around for some place to call home. Living with that old man simply wouldn't do.

The KaibaCorp. tower instantly came to my view.

It was a glorious sight as the tower twisted to become a dark citadel floating in the sky, living spiked vines protruding from the bottom.

Soon Japan was covered by my darkness that was quickly spread to the entire world, the monsters nearly destroying half the planet's major cities, states and countries.

********************

I could hear my laughter echoing throughout my home, no longer that childish banter I used to have. My voice was powerful, I was God taken human form. Everywhere I had slaves, countless mortals had been either killed or imprisoned. It was glorious, so frighteningly wonderful.

Until they came to try and talk some sense into me. I laughed as they were thrown to my feet, enjoying the shocked looks on their faces as they took in every inch of my body, drank in my very posture and memorized my voice.

"So," I purred, rising from my throne, my Chain Energy holding them down. "Come to beg for forgiveness, mortals? I already told Mazaki to fuck herself but you truly are gluttons for punishment." I walked the length of them, stopping in front of a certain blonde Egyptian. "Especially you, Malik." I raised my hand, watching as his body began levitating, laughing once more when he glared and started to struggle. "Or do you just like pain itself?" I circled him, slipping a hand up the back of his shirt and running cold fingers over his Memory scars. "These must have been painful," I purred, loving the way he shuddered beneath my touch.

"Get the fuck away from me, bastard," he hissed.

It was the last word he ever spoke freely.

"Such a perfect little slave you're going to make, Malik." I let my eyes travel over the rest of them once I sit back down on my throne, ruling out the ones that would be useful to me and the ones that wouldn't. "Take them all to the dungeons except for the former bearer of the Ring." I licked my lips, locking eyes with Ryou. "Place him in my bedchambers."

//Turn around to see you in a crowded place

I watch for the emotions as they cross your face

Sayin' lead me on//

The fear in his eyes was beautiful, I wanted to savor every last piece of his fear. Perhaps this was why Bakura had beaten him long before the ancient tomb robber had softened up. Pathetic weakling. I want to take him and claim him for my own but I do need an executioner and who better to take the position than the hikari of a spirit hell-bent on revenge? I see potential in Ryou, potential Bakura never wanted released because then he would have been the slave, the beaten one. Potential long forgotten in his family because the ancient ways were never carried out through them. I circle around him as I did Malik, my cold eyes running across his body. I laugh, realizing how fragile and weak he is, just like I myself used to be. Those that are fragile and weak are destined for greatness, that I've learned. Those that were abandoned by so-called friends are meant to be leaders, meant to be groveled at as they squash another worthless bug beneath their power.

I stop behind him, brushing some pure silver hair away from his neck. I feel him shaking beneath my touch and I chuckle at this. "My dear Ryou, the reason I have set you apart from the others is because I have a very special task for you in my empire that I know you will eventually gladly take," I purred, leaning forward and licking the soft skin at the back of his neck. A whimper comes from him in an attempt to answer and I find myself unable to resist the temptation.

//I see you in a dream and a memory

A captive of the light you say to me

Lead me on//

He screams, hands clutching over his heart as cold ice begins to run through his veins. The same mark that had placed itself on my chest when I accepted the darkness is now on his, the yin yang symbol flipped to indicate which was truly the darker.

"The darkness which binds us is greater than any light could ever be, greater than any force in the entire universe. A darkness which will forever be there deep within a human being and/or a God. Darkness will rule over everything in the end and at the centre of it all lies its creator, ruled by the darkness of their soul and heart, a darkness brought to them by others. A darkness which will never end as without darkness there can be no light.

And without light there can be no darkness. There is an eternal balance between the two forces, an eternal struggle to tip the force over in one's favour. Every so often the forces will clash and one will rule over the other.

"My name is Noa Seto Kaiba, age 18, holder of the millennium puzzle and forbidden Ra. The year is now 2035, seventeen years since Pharaoh Yuugi relinquished his hold on the seven items and the world. Seventeen years since the balance of light and dark was returned to normal. We have lost but gained much, everyone is at peace and since the Pharaoh, nobody has tried to conquer the world. There are still maniacs from time to time but they are taken care of by my friends and I, the new wielders of the millennia items and the children of the future."

Noa stopped his entry when there was a knock on the door before looking back at the screen. "End recording."

<"Now ending your entry no. 316.">

"Security lock."

<"Voice activation.">

"Noa Seto Kaiba."

<"Confirmed. Have a good day, sir.">

The holographic screen panel blanked out and the blonde teenager got up as his mother poked her head in the doorway, smiling at her son. Rebecca held the phone in her hand. "Your friend Valdez is on the phone, Noa-chan. Were you busy?"

"No, mother, just making a diary entry. I can finish it later." Noa held out his hand and the phone slipped from his mother's hand, coming towards him. She laughed as he sat down once more and began talking to his best friend, it was typical of him to use his psychokinesis powers when he couldn't be bothered doing something for himself. She left him to the darkness of his room as the entry screen panel had been his only light. He somehow possessed Yuugi's memories, something that was probably because of his hold on the millennium puzzle.

The darkness may be gone for now, but that wouldn't stop it from rising once more in the near future..................
