Chapter two
Author's note: Sorry about this one, but you frankly don't have to read THIS ONE author's note, okay? Good job. I do not own Yu-gi-oh! Or...anything else.
Yami: That's right! Nobody owns me OR Yugi.
IshziuxJoey lover: I don't recall letting you out of the puzzle.
Yugi: You're such a doink!
Yami: I'ma go.....now...JOEY GET YOU'RE WIFE!
Joey: Honey leave the poor brute alone.
IshziuxJoey lover: You got lucky....this time.
Bakura: Such big words Joey, I am surprised you're heads not hurting.
Joey: my patience is running short with you. And it's funny because you have the same first name as you're last!
“Scott, please!”
“Son, do you expect me to be a babysitter?” Joey sighed. He was surprised his da-Scott wasn't drunk or grumpy form a hang over like this morning. “I have stuff to do.”
“I'll be fine here alone.” Serenity said quietly.
“Shut up Serenity.” Scott said warningly.
“Don't tell her to shut up.” Joey said glaring.
“What?” Joey sighed.
“I'll find her somebody to go to da dance wit.”
“WHAT!?!” Serenity said pushing down her reading glasses. Joey blushed.
“This must be real important, son because I have NEVER seen you want to find YOU'RE SISTER a date.”
“What about Marik?”
“He goes out with Ryo!” Scott watched confused.
“What about dat bubbly, sugar addict, crack head-“
“Yugi?”
“Yeah!”
“He already has a date.”
“I see. Hmmmm. What about Tristan? I can trust him and I know he won't make moves on ya.”
“EWWW! Everyone knows that my cousin! WHAT WOULD PEOPLE THINK!?!”
“Ok, ok, what about Duke?”
“Duke?”
“Ok what about dum...Yugi's alter-ego?”
“YAMI!?”
“YEAH! He's da total opposite of Yugi, dough and is a really cool dude.” Serenity rolled her eyes.
“As far as I know, Yami isn't infected hair on an elephants butt.” She gathered her things and walked to her room. Scott started laughing.
“She'll agree in due time.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Joey walked to the oven the oven.
“But promise to have her home before 1. I swear she's acting more and more like her mother everyday.” Joey gripped the oven and swallowed hard. ~/ He mentioned mom./~
“Only if ya promise not to get drunk or we'll never come back.”
“What?” Scott turned to Joey in shock.
“I like ya better when you're like dis. We can talk. You don't beat us senseless and ya don't..........ya don't kill people.” Blood pulsed through Scott's veins. Was that nightmare he kept having...the night he killed his OWN WIFE?! ~/ I remember now.....dang./~
~Flashback~
“YOU'RE SNEAKING AROUND!”
“NO SCOTT” Scott slapped her into the table.
“WHO WAS HE?!”
“HE WAS FIXING THE BATHROOM!” Janice raised her hand in defense.
“Daddy STOP!” Scott turned to his 10 year old daughter. He walked dizzily over to her and slapped her.
“GO TO YOU'RE ROOM!” His words slurred together as he leaned against the wall. Serenity ran up the stairs as Joey ran down them. Scott pushed off the wall and had his gun in his hand as Joey took in the scene. He pushed Scott into the wall.
“STOP IT YOU PSYHCO!” Scott shakily raised the gun at Joey to shoot, but Janice pushed him and he shot the ceiling. He pushed her off and she fell. As she got up, Scott pulled the trigger.
~Flashback Ends~
“Dad?” Scott looked at his concerned son. That was the first time in a long time.
“I promise son, I won't get drunk.” Joey smiled. He didn't know why, but he felt like he could trust him.
~A Week Later~
“You look GREAT! He'll LOVE you!” A car horn blew.
“OOO! And speaking of the blonde angel!”
~Isis POV~
As I walked out the house backwards, I closed the door and turned to see him leaning on a small, sliver Honda, the street light shinning on him. He wore a black dress shirt with a white tux. He stared at me. I didn't know what to think. I couldn't read his expression. I mean I only had one earring in. It was a sliver chain with a small pearl on the end. Mai said I should wear them. It was a gift from her now deceased great-grandmother. She told me to wear it....along with a lot of other glitter things. She's staying home with her `special friend.'
~Joey's POV~
There she stood, at the top of her porch. Her hair fell to one side, only exposing on ear. I didn't know if she had the other one in, but she held something in her hand. Everything seemed to shimmer as she walked down the stairs. The white, elegant, strapless dress, her hair, her body, her clear heels. As she got to me I ran my fingers through her hair.
“No earring on dis side?”
“Oh YEAH!” She rushed to put it on, but I stopped her.
“I like it like dat.” She blushed at my remark and put the other earring in her purse. I felt proud. Yami and Serenity watched nosily form the car window. Serenity had decided to wear a pink rose colored dress and Yami in a simple black tux. I opened the door and she slid in. I slid across the car and got in, speeding off towards the school.
~Bar~
“Come on Scott! You've been clean for a WEEK! You're no fun anymore!”
“I have kids now.”
“YAH, FOR 17 YEARS AND YOU DIDN'T LET IT STOP UYOU THEN!”
“I promised my boy I wouldn't.”
“Aw, just a pint!” Scott sighed and looked at his boys.
“Fine.” They all cheered and passed him a huge glass of beer.
~ Dance~
Joey constantly watched Serenity and Yami as they danced. He put so much effort in it; he had forgotten HE was dancing. Isis irritatedly turned his face to her. His eyes stayed glued on his sister. He didn't even notice Isis until he noticed the burning pain in his cheeks. He looked at Isis.
“Huh?”
“Will you pay attention to me and not her?” Joey smiled at her irritated and babyish voice. “You came here to dance with me, not watch you're sister like a hawk.”
“Sorry, she's da only sister I got ya know!”
“I know, but it's like as if you date her.” Joey laughed.
“You are so spoiled.”
“I am NOT!” Isis said trying to be serious.
“SEE!” Isis laughed and rolled her eyes.
“Whatever. Mai told me you were gonna have hard time talking you're parents into this.”
“Parent.”
“Huh?”
“Parent, one. My mom died four years ago.” Isis stopped and ran her hand down his face, sympathy in her eyes. Sympathy was what angered Joey. ~/ Their all alike. But Serenity will not be one of them/~ He gripped her hand tightly, but didn't remove it. Pain washed over Isis' expression and she winced. Joey wanted so bad to hear the crunch of bones breaking in his ear as he glared down at her. “Smypathy was what put her in dat position. She had chances to leave, but she didn't. She stayed like da fool she was. That's why it's her own fault.” Isis was confused by his harsh words towards the woman who gave him life. He thrusted her hand away and she rubbed it, eyes water up.
“It's time ta go. Grab ya purse and I got da lovebirds.”
~Car~
Isis sat as far away from Joey as she could. ~/ What did I do wrong? I was offering him my compassion and sympathy because I know who it feels!/~ Joey gripped the wheel tight and didn't know that his knuckles had turned white or that he was going WAY over the speed limit. Yami chatted to Serenity, who really was interested, but disturbed by Joey's mood.
“Joey, are you ok?”
“Fine.” Joey's jaws were as hard as rocks.
“Then could you try not to kill the wheel or us?” Joey relaxed his grip and glanced at Isis. One arm was propped up on the car door to support her head and the other lay peacefully in her lap. The one Joey almost crushed. He grabbed it gently and Isis gasped. He mouthed `I'm sorry' and Isis smiled slightly then it grew. As the pulled up to her house Joey kissed her good night and she ran up her stairs and waved goodbye as the door opened.
~Wheeler house, hours later~
“SON! REN! JANICE!” Scott busted through the door. His vision blurred. Joey and Serenity ran down the stairs.
“Dad?”
“Janice!” He pushed Joey in the kitchen and started beating Serenity.
“DAD STOP!” Serenity screamed. Joey got up and bomb rushed Scott.
“STOP IT YOU PSYCHO!” Scott pulled out his gun and Serenity pushed him from the back. Joey stopped as a familiar feeling came around.
“NO! STOP!” A gun shot filled the air, and then it was followed by sirens.
