Starts at duelist kingdom and then in the next chapter goes onto battle city or whatever but no duels (except for the end of duels)
This story was inspired by the song: long way to go by Gwen stefani—the song is actually about racism but I thought it fit this story well listen to it if you want to if you haven't already heard it its an awesome song.

Excitement filled her. Her smile widened. It was only a matter of time now till her true prince charming was revealed.
Yuugi's body began glowing in a weird whitish gold light. His puzzle illuminating his body.
He began growing taller his eyes narrowed and some of his gold bangs sprung up.
Anzu's excitement only grew. He opened his eyes now blood red. He looked at her
“Hello, Yami no Yuugi!” Anzu said
“Hello, Anzu.” Yami smiled trying to look polite. He stood, Anzu followed
“You are so cool, Yami!” Anzu squealed. Yami winced
“Must you be so loud?” he hissed
“Oh, sorry its just you're sooo much cooler than wimpy Yuugi!” Anzu began bouncing around and talking really fast but Yami paid no attention.
“Cooler than whimpy Yuugi?”
“Uh huh!” Anzu nodded energetically.
“How dare you talk that way about my hikari!” he started advancing on her backing her up to the edge of the cliff.
“Nani?”
“You heard me now you must pay.” Yami said he pushed her and she fell backwards off the cliff.
Disappointment crossed Yami's face when she grabbed the ledge of the cliff just in time. But then a sadistic smile crossed his face
“Don't let go.” He said quietly
Anzu looked tearfully up at him.
“Gomen nassi!” she shouted
“Sorry wont cut it, bitch.” Yami hissed. He began digging around in his pockets and pulled out a small pocketknife.
“Hmm this should be useful” the sadistic smile grew as he flicked it open it glistened in moonlight. Anzu's eyes only widened in terror
“Iie!” she shouted
“Hmm?” Yami brought the knife down on her fingers cutting them all off in one swift movement.
But before she could completely fall he grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her up
Anzu was screaming in agony and tears were falling down her eyes.
Yami laughed and kissed her roughly taking the pocketknife and stabbing her in the heart. Her eyes went completely blank as she fell limp in his arms. Yami brought her over to the ledge and dropped her off the edge. There was silence and then a splash of water.
/Yami! What have you done?!/ Shouted Yuugi from their link
//only gave the bitch what she deserved aibou.// replied Yami
/she was my best friend yami why did you kill her!?/ Yuugi began sobbing on the other end of the line. Yami felt pain in his heart for his light. He sighed and let Yuugi take over.
Yuugi looked down into the depths of the water tears falling freely. Yami, who was watching him from behind in his spirit form, let a tear fall for his hikari and evaporated into the darkness.
