CHAPTER 10
Y/B looked around at them all. “The thing is” he
started but then trailed off as long gone memories
came rushing back to him. He stared off into space,
wondering how he could of even forgotten something
like this.
“Out with it” Yami said although for reasons unknown,
he seemed to understand Y/B’s hesitation.
Y/B looked back towards them. “A long time ago,
before I was trapped within this ring, I met a girl”
“This isn’t going to be a romance story is it?”
Asked Yugi.
Y/B glared at him “you should shut up, if you want
to be alive at the end of this story”
Yugi winced. Yami for once, didn’t stick up for him.
He was too busy waiting for the story.
“She wasn’t my girlfriend or anything. She had saved
me from the death penalty when I got caught trying to
steal the family jewels (he he I love that saying) .
I was indebted to her so we became friends, always
looking out for one another even though society tried
to set us apart. There was always this shadow in her
eyes though, there was something she was hiding from
me.
I tried as hard as I could to find out what I could
about what she tried to hide from me, even uh,
sneaking into the palace to find out from the ancient
records. They were pretty well hidden, And I had to
avoid the guards. That’s how much of a friend she was
to me. I didn’t find anything in them, but I found
other things that could help me.”
“Is there a point to all of this?” Yami asked.
“Yes, you stuffy old camel. It will become clear to
you. Anyway, I found out just what she was hiding
from me one night, and a whole lot more. She had
snuck out of the palace one night, where she worked
as a chef’s helper and rode a camel to the nearest
city. She had arranged to meet him there.”
“Him? who’s him?” Bakura spoke up.
“One of the priests. He was about the same age as
she, but was much higher up in the society chain.
The two of them must of never been seen together.
It would of been treason, even if you were alot more
nicer to your subjects than what your predecessors
would have been.” this said with a look at Yami.
Yami looked kind of puzzled. “And how did they react
to you finding them out?”.
Y/B thought for a moment “they weren’t exactly happy,
and made me promise to never tell anyone. My answer
to that was ‘who’s gonna believe a robber anyway?’
once I promised, they accepted that and I was confided
in all the time. The priest got me out of a few jams
as well. They were so happy together, and so much
in love. They wanted to marry, but it was against the
law. Which was such a shame, for none deserved it
more than they. A few months later though, tragedy
struck.
There was a visitor to the palace, he was nice to
everyone, and seemed like someone anybody would like
to marry. He always treated the most unworthiest
servant the same respect he would give to the high
priests.
You trusted him pharaoh, and yet there were some
things you didn’t find out about him.
He was powerful in the dark arts, He could make
anyone he wished see hallucinations. He can walk on
fire, water and air. And he had lots more where that
came from.
He watched the girl from afar trying to get her to
fall in love with him, he would send her gifts, and
ask for her to wait on him every few nights. But she
always refused his charms, thinking only of the priest.
And the priest only thought of her. So the visitor
tried to intice her with magic, but their love shone
through that. The visitor didn’t exactly know why
she could refuse him, until he followed her to the
city one night. I was there and I saw him back her
into a corner. He was mad with craving for her, and
so tried to force himself upon her. She resisted,
but would of lost had I not ran and brought the priest
to her. The priest fought the visitor but he got away.
He wasn’t seen again until a year later , when the
two had finally confessed their love only to you,
who chose to keep it secret, for the girl was a
favourite servant. The girl and I were walking in
the shady areas of the city, looking for a specific
item for the palace kitchens.
The visitor came out of the shadows, and used his
magic to hurl me away from her. A knife flashed
before my eyes and before I could even recover, she
was lying on the ground. I yelled at him and he simply
said this: ’I will find you again somewhere, somehow,
sometime’ and then he was gone. She bled to death
with me trying to stop the flow.”
“What happened to the priest?” Yugi questioned, his
eyes looking sad.
“I told him, and you also. He stopped, and sat on the
chair. He asked us out of the room, which we obeyed.
We heard the loudest cry of remorse a human being is
capable of, and then sudden silence. We opened the
door just wide enough to see that he had hung himself
out of the window”.
“That is so sad” Bakura said and looked out of the
window.
Y/B got uncomfortable with the other two looking at
him, so he got up and started looking out the window
too, seeing if Gishiro was there.
“Yes that is very depressing, but you forgot to add
a few details” Yami spoke clearly and calmly, although
he didn’t feel that way at all. I mean, seeing
someone commit suicide and then losing your memory is
you know, just a little bit unnerving . Y/B turned
back to him
“Like what?”
“Like their names, what they looked like, what this
actually has to do with that man you saw and went as
white as snow”.
“Oh yeah” ’have to admit that starfish is right’
Y/B thought ’hey I don’t go that white do I?’
“That guy is Gishiro, the visitor. The priest was
Priest Seto and the girl’s name was....”
Y/B trailed off, hit with a huge revelation .
“Y/B? what is it?” Bakura looked at his yami.
“The girl’s name was Teana.”
Don’t worry people I haven’t forgotten Tea’s trip
to the doctors, just wanted to get this all sorted
out or else those three would’ve been waiting till
nightfall for that story.
R&R thanx!
