"Hello?"

"Hello?"

"I heard you the first time," Mai almost snapped, it certainly wasn't Monica.

"Um…hi Mai, listen I have to ask you a question," Mai frowned; it couldn't be Joey, could it? "It's not for me, it's for a friend," well that ruled out Joey.

"Who is this?"

"It's Yugi."

"Yugi?" Now that one she didn't see coming.

"Yeah, Joey's been kinda moping around lately and I was wondering if you knew why."

"WHAT? Now why would I know what was wrong with him?"

"Well for one thing you went out with him on Friday."

"What? How do YOU know about that?"

"He told me."

"Does anyone else know?"

"No. Why, are you that scared of anyone knowing that you'd prefer not to talk to him at all?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Today, Joey was really hurt that you didn't even say `Hi' to him when we saw you."

"And risk my friends knowing about him?"

"That's really a shame Mai, Joey really cares about you, but it's obvious that you can't even bother to acknowledge him."

"That is not true! I just…."

"Bye Mai."

"…"

Mai hung up the phone; did she really care about Joey? I mean he….they were just…it couldn't….could it?
