Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Love is Troublesome ❯ Chapter 1
Hiya! Another fic I thought of. Things for review are:
/ / Means Yugi is speaking through his link
// // Is Yami…. Got it?
WARNING: Minor yaoi, no lemon, but lots of fluff and shonen-ai! Enjoy!
Chapter One
As Yugi ran his daily laps in P.E., he wondered about the new rumors he had been hearing lately.
// Yugi, you shouldn't believe all these silly rumors. They're just bogus… //
/ But what if they're true, Yami? Don't be so negative. /
// So you're telling me I should become optimistic? //
/ No, please don't. Just thinking of you being optimistic is scary. /
"Yugi Mutou!" a shrill voice rang through the air and caught Yugi off guard, "quit spacing and keep running!"
Yugi turned to look behind him. Standing there was a young blonde-haired girl with her hair drawn back in a long ponytail. Her sapphire eyes were sharp and Yugi gulped as he replied, "I'm sorry, Miss Tahkasiri! I won't do it again!"
"You said that yesterday!" Miss Tahkasiri strutted over to Yugi and hit him on the back with her papers, "now go run five more laps, young man!"
"Yes, Miss Tahkasiri!" Yugi yelped and ran off as fast as he could.
// I don't like her at all, Yugi. She's too bossy and strict. //
/ I don't really like her either, Yami. She's a pain in the butt! /
// Why don't you go talk to the counselor? She can help you. That's what she's there for. //
/ But she is so OLD! She's a crummy old granny. I don't want to talk to an old granny about my teacher issues! /
// Yugi, she's a nice old lady. You should respect her more. //
/ Yami! She's scary! I heard that she hides a guillotine in her closet, and when students go in, they never come out! She also mounts their heads on the walls! /
// That's just another rumor, Yu-chan. //
/ She's evil, I tell you! EVIL! /
"YUGI MUTOU! LESS SPACING AND MORE RUNNING!"
"Aaaah! Sorry, Miss Tahkasiri! I won't do it-"
"RUN, YOU IGNORANT BOY! RUN, RUN, RUN!"
"Ok! I'm running!"
After school, Yugi was sitting on the steps of his grandpa's card shop, when a young tan-skinned boy with light milky peach hair stopped in front of him.
"Hello there," Yugi smiled brightly and stood up to shake the boys hand, "my name is Yugi."
"What is a Yugi?" asked the boy, his violet eyes puzzled in question.
Yugi quirked his eyebrow and said politely, "That's my name: Yugi."
// I think something is wrong with this boy, Yugi. //
/ I know, he doesn't know that Yugi is my name. I wonder if he is mentally ill… /
// Yugi! That's not very nice! //
/ I'm sorry, that was rude. /
// Why don't you ask his name? //
/ Good idea… Why didn't I think of that? /
// Because you're mentally ill. // Yami sniggered.
Yugi frowned and asked the tan boy, "What's your name?"
"Is a name something you can eat?" The boy asked.
"Ummm…. No," Yugi sighed, "what do people call you by?"
"I need to use the bathroom."
Yugi fell over, his lip twitching.
// Yugi, would you like me to take over? //
/ You think you can do better? /
// I sense some powerful magic in this young man. May I try talking to him? //
/ Please do. /
There was a bright light and in Yugi's place stood a taller and darker form; the Egyptian Pharaoh, Yami.
"Tell me, kiddo," Yami put a hand on the young boy's shoulder, "where are you from?"
"I really need to go, sir."
"Can you answer my question first?"
"Mars. May I go now?"
"Malik! There you are!" A boy with long white hair came trotting up to Yami and the other boy, "where have you been?"
"Hey, Ryou," Yami smiled at his friend, "how are you?"
"Good, thanks," Ryou Bakura smiled and put a hand on Malik's shoulder, "and thanks for finding my friend!"
"You're friends with this boy?" Yami asked, trying not to sound rude.
"Yeah, he's been acting strange after he was caught in an accident with his sister," Ryou made a faint smile.
"Oh my gosh," Yami gasped, "what happened? Please come in."
"Thank you, Yami," Ryou led Malik inside, Yami closing the door behind them.
Ryou sat Malik down next to him as Yami served them some drinks and Yugi came out, providing some chips.
"So," Yami took his seat across from Malik, folding his hands and Yugi sat beside him, "tell me what happened."
"I don't really know exactly what happened," Ryou frowned and turned his head to look at Malik, "but I do know this:
He was riding in his car with his sister, Ishizu, when some blinding white light caused the driver to stop right in the middle of the intersection. A car hit them right as they stopped, and smashed the car up from Ishizu's side. Another car hit Malik's side, but the metal only hit Malik's skull, so he survived. His sister, on the other hand, died immediately. The ambulance came rushing to the scene, and took Malik and Ishizu to the hospital. Malik was in a coma for a week, and when he recovered, he was left with amnesia, due to the fracture in his brain. Now, he doesn't remember much. He only knows that I am his friend, and that someone is missing."
"Oh my…" Yami laid a hand on Yugi's shoulder, which was sobbing with his face in his hands.
"Right now, we're trying to find someone he can move in with, for the time being," Ryou took his glass of milk and drained it.
Yugi looked up and said through a sob, "He can stay with us."
Yami looked down at his hikari, "Are you sure?"
/ I feel really bad for him, Yami. Can't he stay with us? /
// I guess so. Where will he sleep? //
/ He can have my bed. /
Yami looked at Ryou, "He'll stay with us."
"Thanks for your gracious offer, Yami and Yugi!" Ryou smiled brightly, "we'll bring his stuff over in a month."
Ryou took Malik by the hand and they left the store.
Yami stood up with Yugi in his arms. Walking up the stairs to their room, Yami whispered comforting words to his angel.
"It's ok, shhhhh," Yami set Yugi on the bed and lied next to him, drawing Yugi close.
Yugi stopped sobbing a little bit, and hugged his Yami close to him.
Yami dipped down and caught Yugi in a breathless kiss, releasing a tiny moan from his love. He brushed a few strands out of Yugi's face and started to run his hands up and down his hikari's back.
Yugi moaned his Yami's name a few times before detaching his mouth from him, hugging his Yami even closer to his petite body. His cheeks flushed brighter as his Yami placed kisses along his jawbone and continued down his neck. Yugi mewled in reply to his darker-half's touch, and snuggled deep into Yami's arms, leaving Yami to gaze down at the angel before him.
"Yu-chan, that was kind of you to invite Malik to stay with us," Yami ran his hand through Yugi's tri-colored hair.
Yugi murmured against his Yami's chest, half-asleep, "Hephhh waphhh nuphhhhin'."
Yami chuckled and whispered, "What was that, my little koi?"
"Iphhhhh phhhorta phik mmm, Phammmi, phhoooo phoooo hink eee phooood-"
Yami pulled his hikari back and said once more, "What?"
"I sorta like him, Yami. Do you think we could… you know…"
Yami's eyes widened a little, "You like him that much?
Yugi blushed a little more, and snuggled deep into his Yami's embrace, drifting to sleep.
Yami shook his head and smiled, "Night, Yu-chan…"
