¿Chapter Start!

Joey shivered. The cold wind blew onto his bare face and hands, his hair moving about in random directions, making it look even more silly. It was freezing cold outside, and Joey couldn’t do anything about it; he had no gloves or hats or anything, just his coat. He hated winter.

But, today was a day Joey should be happy and ecstatic instead of his usual grumpy I-wish-winter-was-over-already mood. Today was Christmas Eve, where people relax at home with their families and gather together to get ready for the big holiday the next day. All of Joey’s friends were either away at their relatives places, or having parties at their own home. None of which Joey could go to, no matter how close he was to them. He would feel uncomfortable and displaced there, it wasn’t something he was willing to do. Besides, he had been doing the same thing for Christmas every year since his sister and mother left.

Absolutely nothing.

Joey, though, didn’t even care about that anymore. Sure, the first few years of it he was upset by it, but now? He thought it was better off for him.

You’re probably curious to why Joey doesn’t have his own things to do for Christmas, correct? Well, the answer would be that he didn’t because of his father. His father wasn’t ever home of Christmas for one thing, and if he was, it wouldn’t make a difference anyways. Joey, though, didn’t care, he and his father having a nice Christmas together was out of the question. He knew that for a fact.

The wind started blowing again, right into the blonde’s face. Joey shivered, walking faster to get to his destination; the coffee shop. Yes, even Joey Wheeler needs his coffee fix every once in awhile, and the coffee shop that was downtown was his favorite. He often went there with Yugi, and he had also frequently saw Seto Kaiba getting something to drink from there.

He shook his head, trying to rid of his thoughts. Thinking of Kaiba on Christmas Eve wasn’t something to cheer him up. The holidays were miserable enough for him.

He finally got to the shop, and entered quickly, finding it expectedly empty besides him and about three other people. The three people who came everyday, who were always extremely nice, but Joey ignored them. He usually kept to himself whenever he was alone, which, you would think, is really out of character for him. But that’s just how it was for him.

He ordered his drink after the waitress came to his table. His regular table, which sat in the corner away from the windows. It was the most private seat there, Joey thought. He always did his homework in this spot, well, when he brought it here with him anyways.

He wouldn’t bring it when they were busy, it was too noisy. Besides, he didn’t come often on their busy days.

She brought his drink back, wishing him Happy Holidays and all that ‘junk’ as Joey would call it. She also gave him a bright, flirty smile, which Joey also ignored. He only sighed when she turned away, walking back to her work.

Joey thought to himself as he sipped on his hot coca. ‘Women… they’re always flirting

with me, smiling and winking… I don’t even feel like it means anything to me.’ he stopped drinking, and came to a rather shocking and mind-boggling conclusion. ‘Am I… gay!’

He didn’t really want to think so, but then again, it all made sense to him. He hadn’t really ever had any feelings towards a girl, well, besides Mia a little, but that was just silly. Joey had always had odd feelings with some men before, so it all clicked. He didn’t even bother arguing with himself about it.

The bells attacked to the door jingled loudly, making Joey jump a little; it had been so silent before. He didn’t bother to see who had entered, he probably didn’t know the person anyways. Everyone he knew was at home with their families.

Joey heard a noise, so, instinctively, he looked up. The sight shocked him really, to see someone sitting across the table from him. And the person that was sitting across from him left him even more taken aback. But, neither of the two people said anything to each other, they sipped their drinks, possibly trying to think of what to say to each other.

To surprise Joey once again, the other said, “What are you doing here? It’s Christmas Eve.”

Well, we all know Joey was well aware it was Christmas Eve, but, he bit back the comment. Instead, he answered, “I should be asking the same thing to you too, Kaiba.”

Kaiba just nodded. Joey noted he was acting strangely, but then again, he figured it was only because of the holidays.

“I am here because I had just got home from work, and I honestly didn’t want to go home yet. Mokuba is bouncing off the walls at home, I wanted to relax a bit before I came home to that. Now, Wheeler, why are you here?”

Joey sighed. “It’s better then being at home. You know, with my dad and everything. Serenity and mom are staying home, so it’s either here or being home alone with nothing to do except watching holiday specials. Which would you choose?” he laughed.

Again, shocking the blonde, Seto laughed too. And again, Joey noted, Kaiba was acting very strangely. But he mentally shrugged it off, not really caring.

Joey smiled. Somehow the company, even if it was Kaiba, comforted him on his grumpy mood. No matter how weird Kaiba was acting, actually both of them, Joey was happy to have his company, and he told Seto that.

“Thanks for sitting with me, Seto,” he risked using the first name. He didn’t care is the other boy wanted him to use it or not, he was going to for the time being.

“I was hoping you were here, actually,” Seto started, and he pulled something out of his pocket. It was a small gift-box, and a ribbon around it. “Merry Christmas, Joey.” he leaned over and kissed Joey on the cheek, and walked away quickly.

He left Joey sitting there starring at the present with extremely rosy cheeks. Seto had just kissed him, what do you expect? Once the blonde heard the bells ding on the door, he ripped it open, it then he got it. It was a Duel Monsters card! Seto Kaiba had kissed him and gotten him a Duel Monsters card for Christmas, what was the world coming to? Next thing you know Joey would fall madly in love with Seto…

Oh. My. God.’ Joey dropped the card onto the table. ‘I did not just think that!’ He shook his head. ‘Me? In love with Seto? How…’ Joey’s thoughts strolled onto the brunette’s beauty, and it made Joey shiver. Those deep icy eyes had always been a attractive to Joey, and so had been everything else about the other boy. He just never took it into consideration until right now. He never wanted to think about Kaiba like this until right now. He would never admit love to Seto until now.

He loved him. Joey Wheeler was in love. Joey Wheeler was in love with Seto Kaiba.

And he was just going to let Seto walk away from him? I didn’t think you’d believe so either.

Joey bolted out the door, look around to see where Seto had gone. He saw him at the end of the road, and ran as fast as he cold towards him, trying his hardest not to slip and fall on the ice that was all over the place on the sidewalks.

“SETO!” he yelled at him, and the other boy whipped around, right before Joey could smack right into him.

“What?” he had the stern look on his face again.

“Don’t go…” the blonde leaned over, kissing the other. Seto was shocked, but he didn’t

pull away, he kissed back.

“We can’t do this in public,” Seto whispered to Joey.

“Then let’s go home.” Joey whispered back.

Seto nodded, leading them to his car, which had been parked on the side of the road.

In the car, it was a little awkward. Seto had closed the divider between them and the chauffer, to make it private. Joey leaned over and kissed Seto, the two of them loving every second of it.

“Joey…” Seto whispered it; it was almost a moan.

“Yeah?” Joey asked in reply.

Seto lean over, kissing Joey again. “I love you.”

Joey grinned. “I love you too.”

They started kissing again, but this time with more fire. It was filled with lust, and with passion. They finally had each other, and couldn’t stop. They only did out of breath, but Joey managed to speak.

“Seto?”

“Yes, Joey?”

“Merry Christmas!”

¿Story End?

A/n: did you all like it? This was probably my longest story that I have. I’m happy with it, I hop you all are too.

Sorry, I know it wasn’t the greatest, but I wrote this in 8th grade and I have a long way to go yet, when it comes to superb writing skills.

Please review, I don’t care if you hated it. Just review it. Thanks
